TBT: I think it time to answer a few comments again. I sure love reading them! But when I reply back in the original post, I'm not sure if the commentor ever sees them. And I value them all, but some are easir to reply to than others just because they are sort of "smilies" at The Mews and some seem to be actual questions nor observations. So here come a few...
Both Meezer's Mews & Terrieristical Woofs and Memories of Eric and Flynn commented on Binq's tail poof at the Intruder Cat. She has done an impressive tail poof before, but it is hard to get a pic of that. She runs around a lot when poofed and I and my camera are not as fast as she is. But she can do a real bottle-brush with her tail.
Memories of Eric and Flynn commented that "Ayla was clearly an intellectual with her choice of TV programmes". Yes she was. The TV fascinated her. I previously once wondered if cat's eyes could see the TV well (being better than the resolution of the TV screen). Ayla proved she could see it clearly. When my Dad was here (and loved to watch golf), she would tap at the small image of the golf ball in flight. And any strange image on the TV captured her attention. But the DVDs of mice and birds (cat-sitter TV) never interested her all that much. I think she had a strange view of odd shapes. And she did love watching dinosaurs. No other cat before or since paid any attention to the TV images.
Meezer's Mews & Terrieristical Woofs commented "And OOHHH, those murder mitts!!" And Megan mentioned "Fabulous floaty toes there Binq". Yeah. Marley and Taz have larger paws, but I can't recall a cat with larger claws. They are lethal in size. And Binq likes to grab things with them. Like my hands. I constantly have claw-pricks on them... I really have to learn "claw-clippies". But it is hard for one person to do. Even at the Vet, it takes 2.
And maybe that's why she plays with toys so much. She can really get a grip on them. Its funny; Iza used to strip the skin off her beloved rattelly mice but Binq just loves to hold them in her claws as she runs around the house with them.
Lizzie commented (about Marley and Lori sitting side-by-side) "I[t] does look like those two have developed a relationship. They've been with you the longest. You've gone through a rough patch with "too many kitties" but it looks like you all are coming out on the other side. Congratulations".
Yeah, Fall of 2023 was hard. Laz and Ayla both had to cross The Bridge. And I adopted Taz and Binq from the Shelter shortly after that. But like LC 30 years ago immediately loving the older resident cat Skeeter and loving him, Lori adapted to Marley from the first day. She adores him. And that has gladdened my heart.
Maybe someday Lori will accept Taz and Binq as friends. Things have been a lot calmer lately on her part. There is hope.
Melissa, Mudpie and Angel Truffles (Mochas, Mysteries and Meows) commented about Taz resting his head on a rolled-up camO-mat. saying "You found a pawsome pillow". Yeah, each of The Mews have favorite spots (when not on The Lap). Lori loves the aquarium top. Marley loves a generally out-of-sight place next to a cat tree. Binq loves the top of the old home-built platform and the back of my TV chair.
Taz has 2 main places. The stack of folded towels on the shoe rack (Ayla's former safety zone) and the Secretary desk next to my TV chair. The rolled camo mat is the best pillow.
