John Mayall é um cantor de blues britânico, compositor e multi-instrumentalista. Mayall teve como banda de apoio the Bluesbreakers, tendo trabalhado com músicos como, Jack Bruce, Peter Green, Mick Taylor (de agosto de 1967 a julho de 1969), Harvey Mandel, Walter Trout, Larry Taylor (que depois tocaram nos Canned Heat), Don Francis Bowman "Sugarcane" Harris, Randy Resnick, Aynsley Dunbar, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Andy Fraser (dos Free), Chris Mercer, Henry Lowther, Johnny Almond e Jon Mark (depois dos Mark-Almond), e Eric Clapton (de abril a agosto de 1965, novembro de 1965 a julho de 1966). Com uma carreira musical com mais de cinquenta anos, foi o fundador da banda John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers e influenciou muitos instrumentistas, como Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Peter Green, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Mick Taylor e Larry Taylor, entre outros.
