Os sul africanos Tidal Wave foram um dos expoentes máximos da África do Sul da música Pop/Psicadélica do final dos anos 60 e início dos anos 70 com sucessos como "Spider Spider", "Mango Mango" e " With tears in my eyes ". A banda também experimentou a via tanto do metal, como apresentaram algumas influências do rock progressivo, embora tenham existido por um tempo relativamente curto, mas são considerados por muitos como a ponte entre o pop e o rock 'underground' que estavam a desenvolver.
