“Poptime” é uma excelente compilação da banda dinamarquesa The Go-Getters, que reúne faixas editadas maioritariamente entre 1960 e 1966. A banda apresenta-nos um excelente som instrumental ao estilo de The Shadows e batida “rock de garagem”. 

The Go-Getters foi um grupo beat dinamarquês formado em 1960. A banda tocava ao estilo de Cliff Richard e The Shadows. Em 1965, reformaram-se e tornaram-se no X-Group. Mais informação sobre este excelente grupo, já se encontra inserida neste blog.

NOTA: As faixas 4 a 22, 25 e 27 são instrumentais. Faixas 3 a 22, em estéreo, restantes faixas são em mono. Faixas 1, 2, 3, 23, 24, 25 e 32, não editadas anteriormente.

The Jumping Jewels.

O grupo de guitarras originário de Haia/Holanda, The Jumping Jewels, foi formado à semelhança do som “Fender” dos Shadows. Para além de temas instrumentais, o grupo tinha também o seu vocalista Johnny Lion (John van Leeuwarden). Tiveram grande sucesso na Holanda no período de 1961-1965. Além de Lion, a formação era composta por Hans van Eijk (guitarra solo), Tjibbe Veeloo (guitarra ritmo), Joop Oonk (baixo), Frits Tamminga (bateria), este último foi substituído em 1963 por Cees Kranenburg jr. Mais tarde, os Jumping Jewels mudaram o seu nome para Jay-Jays.

The Go-Getters.

The Go-Getters (não confundir com a banda sueca Neo Rockabilly The Go Getters), formou-se na Dinamarca e estavam no topo da cena musical em meados da década de 60, não apenas no circuito escandinavo. A banda surgiu do duo Lyngby Rhythm Boys de Jan Blangstrup e John Hartvigsen, em 1960. Hartvigsen era o vocalista da banda e muitas vezes era apelidado de Cliff Richard dinamarquês. O estilo da banda, mesclava o instrumental com o vocal. No início da carreira, seria algo entre The Shadows, The Everly Brothers e The Allisons. Foi uma banda claramente de Rock'n'Roll dinamarquês, mais tarde influenciada pela invasão Beat britânica.
