Tim Walz, Democrat Governor of Minnesota, has put the Minnesota National Guard on standby following an ICE gent’s murder of a woman in Minneapolis and has urged Minnesotans to remain peaceful while criticizing the Fascist Regime’s lies:

“We do not need any further help from the federal government. To [Cankles] and [DogKiller]: You‘ve done enough. I want Minnesotans to hear this from me: The desire to get out in the protest and to speak up to this administration of how wrong this is, that is a patriotic duty at this point in time, but it needs to be done safely. I feel your anger, I am angry. They want a show, we can't give it to them."

Stay strong, stay peaceful, and show this regime that we will stand against their fascist tactics and state sanctioned murder.

Mark Kelly, Democrat Senator from Arizona,  forcefully rejected DUI hire Pete Hegseth’s censure over his “illegal orders” comments, calling it on Free Speech and on generations of service members who have earned their rank through sacrifice:

“Over twenty-five years in the U.S. Navy, thirty-nine combat missions, and four missions to space, I risked my life for this country and to defend our Constitution – including the First Amendment rights of every American to speak out. I never expected that the President of the United States and the Secretary of Defense would attack me for doing exactly that. My rank and retirement are things that I earned through my service and sacrifice for this country. I got shot at. I missed holidays and birthdays. I commanded a space shuttle mission while my wife Gabby recovered from a gunshot wound to the head—all while proudly wearing the American flag on my shoulder. [But] Pete Hegseth wants to send the message to every single retired servicemember that if they say something he or [Cankles] doesn’t like, they will come after them the same way. It’s outrageous and it is wrong. There is nothing more un-American than that. If Pete Hegseth, the most unqualified Secretary of Defense in our country’s history, thinks he can intimidate me with a censure or threats to demote me or prosecute me, he still doesn’t get it. I will fight this with everything I’ve got—not for myself, but to send a message back that Pete Hegseth and [Cankles] don’t get to decide what Americans in this country get to say about their government.”

Mark Kelly is a hero; Hegseth is an adulterous drunk while Cankles is a draft-dodging rapist.

Serena Rice, ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, on the power of visibility for trans individuals:

“Have you ever attended an elementary school performance and noticed the kids who enter the stage, anxiously search the audience for their people, and then break out into a beaming grin as soon as they make eye contact? These adorable little humans haven't done anything beyond entering the stage. However, they still feel proud of themselves because the people they care about can see them. Then there is the biblical theme of being seen by God. It is not as frequent as the theme of being heard by God, but we can notice it especially with people who are used to being overlooked. Think of Mary's Magnificat … Mary, a young peasant girl at the bottom of her society's social ladder, exults that God ‘looked with favor on your servant.’ … [Being] seen was the catalyst for dramatic shifts in their life trajectories. Their lives were changed because God saw them. For me personally, as a Christian pastor and mother of a trans child, the question of being seen has particular weight. In many ways, it would be much easier and safer not to be seen. According to the loudest voices coming from American Christianity, my colleagues and siblings in Christ see my child's identity as an abomination. Being visible with my family's truth would be enough to get me fired by many congregations and even kicked out of some denominations. Thankfully, I've received tremendous support from my church. Daily, his courage to show up as his true self is among the most inspiring things I have ever witnessed. He has taught me the power of unapologetic visibility. Being seen, insisting on visibility, is not a matter of ego, ‘wokeness,’ or forcing one's identity on other people. It is a matter of basic human dignity. It is the instinctive understanding that being seen for who we are is essential to being valued for who we are. This year of all years, 2025, has witnessed an unprecedented number of bills and policy changes being pushed to try to remove human rights protections for trans people. It has also been a year when many who used to speak up for the trans community are walking away from advocacy for trans people. Whether they blame recent political losses on this advocacy or not, trans people are facing intense pressure to be invisible. As the mother of a trans youth, I know that I am hardly unbiased when it comes to the human dignity of trans people. Still, I do not think God is unbiased either, because every single trans person in the world is made in the image of God. They are made in God's image and their trans image is not a mistake. God made them trans on purpose. They beautifully teach the world about the beauty and power of breaking binary categories that try to hide God's diverse creativity. Trans people need to be visible for their dignity, but the rest of us need them to be visible so that we can see the face of God in them. We will never know the fullness of God if we hide them.”

Perfection. People just want to be seen as they are and why is that wrong? It's respect for others; it's kindness. It's not wrong.

This obsession with spending at the border has left the country unprotected elsewhere. The security threats … are higher, not lower, since [The Felon] came to office … Your myopia about the border fueled by [The Felon]’s prejudice against people who speak a different language [has] shattered most of this country’s important defenses … You are ignoring the immigration laws of this nation, implementing a brand-new immigration system that you have invented that has little relation to the statutes that you are required to follow as spelled out in your oath of office. You are routinely violating the rights of immigrants who may not be citizens, but whether you like it or not, they have constitutional and statutory rights when they reside in the United States. Your agency acts as if laws don’t matter, as if the election gave you some mandate to violate the Constitution and the laws passed by this Congress. It did not give you that mandate … When Congress appropriates funds for a specific purpose the administration has no discretion whether or not to spend that money unless you go through a specific process with this committee … The first is a shelter and services program. Senator Britt may want to zero that account out, but that account is funded in a bipartisan way. You may not like the program. Your policy is to treat migrants badly. I think that’s abhorrent, but it doesn’t matter that you don’t like the program. You cannot cancel spending in this program, and you cannot use the funds, as you have, to fund other things, like ICE. You have also cancelled citizenship and integration grants, which help lawful permanent residents become citizens, helping them take the citizenship test. I know your goal is to try to make life as hard as possible for immigrants, but that goal is not broadly shared by the American public. That’s why Congress, in a bipartisan way, for decades has funded this program to help immigrants become citizens. Now let’s talk about why encounters at the southern border are down so much. This is clearly going to be your primary talking point today. You will tell us that it represents as success. But the prime reason why encounters are down is because you are brazenly violating the law every hour of every day … [by] refusing to allow people showing up at the southern border to apply for asylum. I acknowledge that you don’t believe that people should be allowed to apply for asylum, but the White House doesn’t get to choose that … [Our] asylum law is a bipartisan commitment, an effort to correct for our nation’s unconscionable decision to deny entry to Jews to this country who were being hunted and killed by the Nazis … [Let’s]  talk about these disappearances. In an autocratic society, people who the regime does not like or who are protesting the regime are often picked up off the street, and spirited away, often to open-ended detention. Sometimes they’re never seen again. What you are doing, both to individuals who have legal rights to stay here, like Kilmar Abrego Garcia, or students who are just protesting [The Felon]’s policies, is immoral and … illegal. You have no right to deport a student visa holder with no due process simply because they have spoken in a way that offends the President … We as an appropriations committee worked interminable hours to write and pass this budget, and so we make ourselves irrelevant when we allow the administration to ignore what we have decided. And then when we look the other way when the administration rounds up immigrants who are here illegally and have committed no offenses worthy of detainment, we also do potential irreversible damage to the Constitution. These should not be partisan concerns—destroying the power of Congress, eroding individuals’ Constitutional rights. This should matter to both parties.”

This is what we need: more outrage, more speaking truth to power, more resistance.

I guess if I would say anything to someone who’s having trouble with their trans teen or their adolescent trans kid, it’s, ‘Teenagers are a f–king headache. They’re hard. It doesn’t matter whether they’re trans or not because you’ll come out of this,' but a trans teen is going to be a teen. They’re such a pain in the ass so much of the time, and Kai is as feisty and outspoken as they come. I don’t like to dwell on it too much; to some degree, I feel like I don’t want to overcook that fear or that anxiety. There’s enough in the world to be anxious and afraid about. This isn’t just about representing the trans community. This is actually a community of people who don’t have great resources, who don’t have access to help, who aren’t being protected and looked after by their families. These are people who are being rejected. These are people who are experiencing the harshest version of humanity that we can offer, and some of them are not surviving it.”

Trans kids, trans teens, are like any other kid, any other teen, any other person, just asking to be seen and respected.

Pete Buttigieg, former Secretary of Transportation and hopefully a future President of the United States, on The Felon’s moronic response to a plane crash and loss of life:

 “Despicable. As families grieve, [he] should be leading, not lying. We put safety first, drove down close calls, grew Air Traffic Control, and had zero commercial airline crash fatalities out of millions of flights on our watch. [The Felon] now oversees the military and the FAA. One of his first acts was to fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe. Time for the President to show actual leadership and explain what he will do to prevent this from happening again.”

Sadly, his sociopathy and narcissism won’t allow him to actually lead, or do the right thing, or worry about this happening again.

The ‘January 14’ Fox News article [The Felon] cited today as evidence of a last-minute Biden FAA diversity hiring push right before [he] came back to office? It was actually published a year ago—January 14, 2024. Again, it was criticizing the same language that had been on the FAA website since at least 2013.”

What’s this? An actual person working for CNN who still has a spine and speaks up?

Hakeem Jeffries, House Minority Leader, trashing The Felon for his remarks following that deadly crash:

"It’s a very irresponsible statement that was made by the president. Bodies are still being pulled from the Potomac, children were killed, future ice-skating Olympians were killed, future leaders in Wichita, Kansas, and beyond were killed as a result of this tragedy. We don’t need misdirection and we don’t need misinformation coming from the highest office in the land. We need integrity, we need decency, we need leadership. There is not a scintilla of evidence that exists to suggest that women and people of color are to blame for the tragedy that took place. And it was shameful."

There is of course zero truth to The Felon's claims but these lies serve two purposes for him—

First, they excite his racist base who think that women and people of color are inherently inferior and unqualified for important jobs.

Second, they allow The Felon to distract us from the fact that at the time of the crash there was no Federal Aviation Administration leader since the previous holder of that position, Michael Whitaker, was forced out by Elon Musk—who paid $200M for The Felon’s election win—for daring to enforce regulations on SpaceX.

Again, We The People need to get loud, and our Democratic leaders need to get loud, and we need to remind our Democratic leaders that if they aren’t going to stand against this regime, then there will be no money from We The People coming into their campaign coffers.

Don’t ask for my money and then do nothing.

I Didn't Say It

President Biden, on those dead children, victims of yet another mass shooting in America:

"I had hoped when I became president I would not have to do this—again. Another massacre. Uvalde, Texas. An elementary school. Beautiful, innocent second, third and fourth graders. And how many scores of little children who witnessed what happened—see their friends die, as if they're in a battlefield, for God's sake. They'll live with it the rest of their lives. What struck me on that 17-hour flight [Biden was returning from Asia] what struck me was these kinds of mass shootings rarely happen anywhere else in the world. Why? They have mental health problems. They have domestic disputes in other countries. They have people who are lost, but these kinds of mass shootings never happen with the kind of frequency they happen in America. Why? Why are we willing to live with this carnage? As a nation, we have to ask, when in God's name are we going to stand up to the gun lobby? When in God's name will we do what we all know in our gut needs to be done?”

When all of you in Washington finally stand up; when those of you who want comprehensive, rational gun control call out the other side for offering no solutions.

"Here we are again, on another day of mourning in this country. Once again, we grieve for the little boys and girls whose lives have been ended and whose families have been destroyed. Anyone in public offers who expresses their grief and offers their prayers and then does not one thing about guns, needs to be voted out of office permanently.

Greg Abbott, Republican governor of Texas, saying the Uvalde school murderer had a "mental health challenge":

"We as a state, we as a society, need to do a better job with mental health."

Just last month Greg Abbott slashed $211 million from the department that oversees mental health programs. Texas now ranks dead last—pun intended—out of all 50 states and the District of Columbia for overall access to mental health care.

Greg Abbott was scheduled to speak at an upcoming NRA event but pulled out at the last minute in an effort to make it seem like he gives a flying fuck about dead kids; let’s be clear, he does not.

The GOP talks about being pro-family, pro-children, but when it comes to children being murdered in schools, their offer the solutions of arming teachers, having more active shooter drills, or locking the kids inside the building.

Nothing about the guns.

Cruz said, the next day:

We are seeing way too many of these horrific mass murders. And we need to devote far more law enforcement resources to stopping violent criminals preventing these kinds of absolute acts of evil."

First off, Rafael, your prayers are hollow when you take money from the very people who flood our streets with guns.

Your prayers mean nothing when you block even the discussion of gun control.

You don’t care about dead children; you care about political office.

Steve Kerr, coach for the Warriors basketball team, refused to talk about basketball before the team’s playoff game against the Mavericks, but instead spoke of murdered children in the United Sates of Guns:

“Since we left shoot-around, 14 children were killed 400 miles from here and a teacher [now 19 children and 2 teachers dead]. And in the last 10 days, we’ve had elderly Black people killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we’ve had Asian churchgoers killed in southern California, and now we have children murdered at school. When are we going to do something? I’m tired, I’m so tired of getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated families that are out there. I’m tired of the moments of silence.”

Moments of silence, thoughts and prayers, lifting people up in prayer, will not save the life of one American.

Gun control, and better access to mental health care, together, can start to solve the problem.

My president; remember he was the one that the GOP and the NRA said was coming for your guns, and yet he confiscated not one weapon. The Democrats don’t want your guns, we want gun safety, gun responsibility, guns not in the hands of the mentally ill or the morally outraged.
