Architecture Wednesday: Los Feliz Spanish Home

This 1931 Spanish home blends character details with modern ease. It sits on a full street-to-street lot with beautiful views of the cascading falls of the Rowena reservoir from the kitchen, dining room and backyard.

Incredible curb appeal enhanced by ornate, colorful tilework, mature landscaping and custom woodwork and rows of palm trees set in the backdrop, the entry leads to a tranquil front courtyard perfect for enjoying morning coffee or afternoon cock-a-tales. Architecture Wednesday: 1920s Spanish Bunglaow

Not a big house, but perfect for a couple of gays and their two cats.

This 1920’s Bungalow has two bedrooms and 2-and-a-half bathrooms in just 1,069 square feet and has a Oaxacan style design, effortless flow, and city views—a sanctuary in the hills of Highland Park. Architecture Wednesday: Barcelona Vibes In Culver City

After last week’s over-the-top listing, I thought we’d continue with the rustic on a much smaller-than-JLo’s-ass scale and about $40M cheaper.

This is a new home in Culver City is an ode to fine craftsmanship and high style, with expertly applied plaster and lime wash, custom millwork cabinetry and ceiling details, unique flooring, all on a small lot, with a pool and a one-bedroom rental unit in back.

In the main house an inviting foyer showcases textures and tones that blend together to create a  serene living area. A front sitting area with bioethanol fireplace opens into a dining room with custom print mural. Through an arched opening the kitchen is set below sky lights with Calacatta marble counters, shiplap backsplash and white oak custom cabinetry, and laundry room.

There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms on this level along with a sunny den with a custom scalloped ceiling and large windows to the European-inspired yard with decadent landscaping, a sunny sitting niche and patio for gathering and lounging by the pool.
