I Ain't One To Gossip But ...

Manhattan federal Judge Ronnie Abrams recently ruled that The Huffington Post was within their rights to print a photo that did not belong to them of Jon Hamm’s Hammaconda and writing that Hamm was apparently “very blessed south of the border, and he, or those who examine photographs of him, really want you to know that.”

I did. I examined it very carefully and for a long while.

HuffPo was being sued by the Hammaconda photographer Lawrence Schwartzwald who wanted to be paid for the image, but the judge ultimately decided that HuffPost was making fun of Jon’s Johnson. Abrams said there’s legal precedent for news outlets using licensed images for stories that “illustrate what all the fuss is about.”

And I thank her for that, and I’ll also thank Hamm, for the Hammaconda, and for realizing that this is really no big deal.

No pun intended.

Last May actor Brian Austin Green announced that he and his wife, actress Megan Fox, were really really finished with their marriage this time. And then Megan proved she was even more  done by quickly moving on from Green to rapper Machine Gun Kelly.

Who cares, right? Well, actress Vanessa Marcil, who was BAG’s girlfriend and baby mama in the early 2000s,  does and she’s speaking out.

Marcil And Green  hooked up in 1999 on the set of Beverly Hills, 90210 and in 2002 she gave birth to their son, Kassius Marcil-Green. They split up in 2003 and she has spent the last seventeen years fighting Green, and Fox, over custody of their child. Vanessa ALLEGES that Brian and Megan tried to get custody of Kassius, which Vanessa wasn’t into, and when a judge threw out their case, Brian basically stopped seeing his son.

So, what does Marcil do now? Come down squarely on Team Megan in a divorce that is literally none of her business, and hijack Megan’s Instagram account to tell the world that Green is a Bad Dad:

“Our job as adults is not to protect adults but to protect our children … I just speak the truth now at my son‘s request in order to help my son heal and not shoulder these secrets anymore. If his father‘s actions reflect poorly on him that is his doing. Not mine. … I just finally, now that Kass is grown, tell the truth regarding a court case and him cutting his son out of his life for 5 years. If you look back at our history his father publicly tried to slander me, lie about me, shame me as a working mother and take full custody of my son. ... He’s lucky that I don’t speak poorly of him after what he put our innocent boy through. He’s very big on doing things that publicly make him look like a nice guy. However, it is who you are when no one is looking that shows your true character.”

For someone who says she won’t speak ill of her son’s dad, she’s rather good at it. And, in the words of Lisa Rinna to Denise Richards on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills:

“Oof, you’re so angry.”

Vanessa? Hon? Your son with Green is a grown man now. Let him deal on his own with his father and perhaps you could stay out of it? And perhaps you should stay out of another’s person’s marriage and not be so filled with glee that another family has broken up when you were clearly so hurt when your family fell apart.

M’kay?

Jude Law and his 32-year-old psychologist wife, Dr. Phillipa Coan, recently welcomed their first child together.

How nice, but for Jude it was also Baby #6. He  has three kids with his first wife, Sadie Frost—Rafferty, 23, Iris, 19, and Rudy, 13—plus another child with Samantha Burke—11-year-old Sophia—and a five-year-old daughter Ada, with Catherine Harding.

So, for the scoreboard that four mothers, six children, two wives, and two girlfriends.

That’s all.

After leaving the Star Wars franchise, John Boyega has been speaking out about the online racist abuse he took from rabid fans, and the frustration he felt that the creators and studio did not have his back. He also put the creators on blast by acknowledging that the franchise has decided to sideline the characters of color. And now fragrance brand Jo Malone is apologizing to Boyega after they erased him from their ad campaign in China.

Boyega was Jo Malone’s first Black global ambassador last year and wrote and directed a commercial promoting company’s aftershave. But when it came to the company’s Chinese ad campaign Jo Malone inserted Asian actor Liu Haoran, and white and Asian actors while removing Boyega and other Black actors.

Jo Malone is now forced to apologize, or faux-pologize because there is no excuse:

“We deeply apologize for what on our end was a mistake in the local execution of the John Boyega campaign. John is a tremendous artist with great personal vision and direction. The concept for the film was based on John’s personal experiences and should not have been replicated.”

Um, a mistake? You erased a Black man and put an Asian actor in his place. That doesn’t happen by accident. Even worse … Boyega was not made aware of the recasting and found out about it on Twitter.

When last we left Horrible Parents and College Scam Artists, Lori Loughlin, and Mossimo Giannulli admitted their guilt about cheating their illiterate daughters’ way in USC and were sentenced to two months in jail, for her, and five months, for him. But their prison stay, as short and privileged as it is, will make Felicity Huffman’s eleven-day jail stint for the same crime seem like a life sentence at Alcatraz.

Lori and Mossimo are basically going to Camp Rich People Prison. Lori will be at the Federal Correctional Institution in Victorville, while Mossimo will head to the Federal Correctional Institution in Lompoc.

Federal Correctional Institutions that offer their guests, er, inmates, yoga, Pilates and origami, as well as music lessons.

These people cheated and bribed to get their daughters into a prestigious school and their sentence is Summer Camp.

Good thing they’re rich and white …

I Didn't Say It ...

Alec Baldwin, proving, again, that he is in need of anger management therapy:

"There was a time when my greatest wish was to stab Harvey Levin with a rusty implement and watch his entrails go running down my forearm . . . I wanted him to die in my arms, while looking into my eyes, and I wanted to say to him, ‘Oh, Harvey, you thoughtless little pig.’”

How cute! He called Harvey a pig, just like he called his daughter!
Rayvon Owen, 4th in the 14th season of American Idol, has come out as gay and on why he never came out while on the show:

“First I had to become comfortable with myself and who I am as a person. For the longest time I kept that part of my life separate, away from music, away from a lot of things. As I was growing as an artist, I realized I was missing out on so much of my artistry by not connecting the two. It’s easy to ignore when there are only a few thousand people who are fans and know who you are, but after Idol millions of people know me and I’m much more public. [But] someone I knew passed away. He never got to live his truth, and there are many people who die young and never get to leave their mark or make a difference. I’ve been given such an awesome platform so why not use it to help, when there are so many people out there like me who haven’t come to terms with who they are or even worse, have been kicked out of their home or who have been bullied or who have committed suicide. As long as this is happening, it’s worth bringing this to people’s attention … why not get the conversation started?”

First off, welcome out. But, um, yeah, knew you were gay the moment you stepped onstage, though that is neither here nor there.
Still, you’re coming out isn’t getting the conversation started, it’s just adding another voice.
And that’s a welcome addition.
President Obama, responding to Republican obstructionism in the wake of Justice Scalia’s death:

“I plan to fulfill my constitutional responsibilities to nominate a successor in due time. There will be plenty of time for me to do so and for the Senate to fulfill its responsibility to give that person a fair hearing and a timely vote. These are responsibilities that I take seriously, as should everyone. They’re bigger than any one party. They are about our democracy.”

Does it get any more common sense than that?
Just.Do.Your.Jobs. But …
Ted Cruz, on “absolutely” going all fili-blustery [New Word Alert™] on any Obama nominee to the Supreme Court:

“The Senate’s duty is to advise and consent. We’re advising that a lame-duck president in an election year is not going to be able to tip the balance of the Supreme Court.”

Um, Ted, you steaming pile of illiterate, uninformed, uneducated pile of crap: every second term president, from the very moment he wins that second term, is a lame-duck president, so are you suggesting that Obama not do anything in his second term but sit on his hands and play golf and vacation?
Oh, wait, that was George W. Bush … during both of his terms.
John Boyega, of Star Wars, maybe confirming a gay story line in upcoming editions of the movie franchise:

“What’s so funny, I posted a video the other day of myself working out, skipping, and in the background Oscar [Isaac] is just like, ‘Yeah baby go on!’ and people just went crazy. But as far as I’m concerned, when JJ [Abrams] sat us down to go through the script, it was a bromance. But now I’m learning what Mark Hamill said before when he didn’t know that Darth Vader was Luke’s father: you never know what they’re going to pull. I’m looking at the director Rian [Johnson] closely so he can get me involved early, so I can prepare myself. So who knows?”

I have not seen the new Star Wars but, as I’ve said, if an upcoming film includes a gay love storyline between Oscar Isaac … swoon … and John  Boyega … swoon … I may be one of those folks camping out for the opening.
Just sayin’ … swoon.

Random Musings

Man oh man, whoever told Bill Cosby how to play it during his perp walk really nailed it.

The confused old man with a cane, being held up by his team after he trips over a curb. How could he have possibly sexually assaulted fifty women?

PS That's fifty Cosby mugshots, one for each of the women he has ALLEGED to have sexually assaulted.
Celine Dion returned to Caesar's Palace Las Vegas this week and first thing she covered was Adele’s “Hello.”

Celine Dion ruins everything.
So, over the holidays we watched a few films we had line dup on the DVR, so the Hot Man Watch was working overtime …

First up is openly bisexual — though he lived most of his life with a man — actor Farley Granger, whom we watched in Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train. He’s just dreamy.

Then we had Max Irons in The Riot Club, about a group of over-privileged rich kids at Oxford University; he played the kinda good one. Sidenote: his father is actor Jeremy Irons.

Next up is Aml Ameen from The Maze Runner; so hot, died — in the film anyway — too soon.

Next up, continuing clockwise, is Jack O’Connell from Unbroken; it was a very good film, a brilliantly told true story, and Jack is oh so swoonworthy.

Lastly, we have Garrett Hedlund, also from Unbroken, who met up with Jack o’Connell’s character in a prisoner of war camp.

That was some hot camp, is all I can say.
According to No Homophobes.com, the word ‘faggot’ has been tweeted on Twitter over 34 million times since it began tracking in July 2012 … that’s 19 times a minute, y’all.

And finally they’ve done something about it. Twitter will begin banning accounts that tweet abuse or threats that use homophobic or transphobic slurs.

‘Bout effing time.
So, Colton Haynes is cute; adorable; maybe gay. Who cares?

Apparently a lotta folks. The world, or at least most of the gay corners of the world, are buzzing that Haynes came out as gay in a coy post on Tumblr after a fan said this:

“when I found out colton haynes had a secret gay past i got so excited even though i know it makes absolutely no difference in my life.”

Colton Haynes replied:

“Was it a secret? Let’s all just enjoy life & have no regrets :).”

Questions about Haynes’ sexuality have surfaced before, mostly from photos of him kissing another guy in an issue of XY Magazine back in ’06.

Haynes has never publicly addressed the rumors and this isn’t him addressing them now.

Build a bridge people, though, I will say again: he is adorable.
It seems like we have a lot of hot guys in Musings this week, so let’s talk Carrie Fisher and the body shaming she’s been enduring online since the new Star Wars film opened.

People are seemingly stunned that she looks so different from the first time she appeared in a Star Wars film … in 1979! Yes, the poor woman had the audacity to age over the course of the last forty years and no longer look like a bikini-wearing slave girl.

I’d like all y’all that are dogging Carrie to take a look back at how you looked forty years ago, and when you pick your chin up off the floor, shut your yap.

But still ... Carrie knows how to take on her detractors so let’s allow her that honor …
Now, unlike Colton Haynes, this gay story does have me intrigued …

The internet is going wild for a theory that Star Wars will soon feature its first gay romance.

Just before Star Wars: The Force Awakens opened rumors spread that there might be a gay romance between two of the film’s main male characters. And the film does film features a close bond between Resistance pilot Poe Dameron — played by scaldingly hot Oscar Isaac [right] — and stormtrooper Finn — played by also scaldingly hot John Boyega [left].

And, while doing press for the film Oscar Isaac added fuel to the fire by hinting at a gay romance saying:

“I think it’s very subtle romance that’s happening. You know, you have to just look very close — you have to watch it a few times to see the little hints. But there it was.”

Let me just say this: I haven’t seen Star Wars yet but if there’s to be a gay romance featuring Oscar Isaac, I’m’a get in line now.

And, if that romance is with John Boyega, I’m’a be buyin’ tickets for every show.

Just sayin’.
