I Didn't Say It ...

Colin Powell, former Secretary of State, told CNN’s Jake Tapper he was voting Biden in November:

“[_____] lies. He lies about things, and he gets away with it because people will not hold him accountable. … We’re not a country of just a president. I think what we’re seeing now, those massive protest movements I have ever seen in my life, I think this suggests that the country is getting wise to this and we’re not going to put up with it anymore. … I’m very close to Joe Biden in a social manner and political manner. I’ve worked with him for 35, 40 years, and he is now the candidate and I will be voting for him.”

While Colin Powell has had his own fights with the truth back in the day—WMD anyone—I do like to see people speaking out about the lack of true leadership in this country.
Bernard Kerik, former NYPD Commissioner, pardoned by _____ earlier this year after conviction on eight felony charges, says police brutality is fine with him and no reforms are needed except for the black community:

“When you watch these videos, listen, when a police officer tells you to move when there is a curfew, you move. When a police officer told you to back up, you back up. You’re not supposed to stick your finger in his face. You’re not supposed to touch him or throw something on it. They’ve been bombarded with bricks, rocks, Mollin powotov cocktails, sticks, you name it and you know what at some point in time, you’re going to push the wrong cop and he’s going to push back. In this case, that is what happened. Everything is about reforming the police. How about reforming the community? How about teaching young black men and women, in these communities of color, things like don’t run from the police when you get stopped. Keep your hands on the steering wheel when you get stopped in a car stop. Don’t make furtive moments, don’t put your hands in your pockets, don’t poke the police in the eye when he stops you, don’t assault the police, don’t resist. These are simple, simple things that could be taught in driving school when you’re teaching kids how to get their license.”

Um, you racist fuckmonkey, black people didn’t just start running from police for no reason; it started after years and years AND YEARS of being targeted by police, brutalized by police, arrested for simply walking while black by the police. If the police do better, the communities do better; if the police become visible positive influences in our communities, then no one will feel the need to run …for their lives.
Michelangelo Signorile, SiriusXM radio host, LGBTQ activist and author, on the new round of speculation that Lindsey Graham is gay, using Aaron Schock as an example for outing Graham:

“[Aaron Schock is] the perfect example of a man who was deceiving the public in so many ways … The closet, for powerful politicians, becomes a sort of practice run at the art of deception on a grander scale. And when you will sell out your own kind, there’s really no telling how low you will go. Had journalists at mainstream outlets with vast resources, legal teams and researchers, been pursuing Schock for the hypocrisy of his anti-LGBTQ votes—and revealed that he was gay, with clear-cut evidence—it wouldn’t only have likely stopped an anti-gay hypocrite, it would likely have brought down a man who was spending campaign and taxpayer dollars to live in grand style and luxuriously travel around the world. … Some queer people don’t realize this isn’t about indiscriminately ‘outing’ the average person, the private citizens just trying to live their own lives. It’s actually about protecting them from the corruption of those who are public figures—people who go into public life knowing their lives will be open for discussion—who want to deceive people to benefit themselves and their benefactors. Senator Lindsey Graham has promoted a horrendously anti-LGBTQ agenda and now is one of the strongest defenders of a president who is the most anti-LGBTQ president in history, rolling back rights that have been won. Editors and reporters should be investigating Graham’s hypocrisy the way they investigate public figures’ hypocrisy all the time—and that means following up on reports about his sexual orientation.”

People should be allowed to come when they choose, if they choose, BUT when closted gay politicians use their power to do harm to the LGBTQ community in an effort to hide their own orientation, then all bets are off.
So, come on out, Lady G, before you’re dragged out.
And then dragged.
Mike Huckabee, presidential wannabe and rightwingnut, on the idea that some Republicans will not support _____
:
“If you have people who were nominated, and in the case of President Bush actually elected to be president by Republicans and they will no longer support the Republican nominee who went through the process and got elected, then I’m going to be not just unhappy, I’m going to be livid. And some of them say, ‘But I don’t like his personality.’ Well, get over it. This is not about electing a personality. This isn’t Hollywood. This is the rough, tumble world of politics. And maybe he’s not as genteel as some of us would like. But, by gosh, he’s getting the job done, and it’s time Republicans rally because if they don’t, they’re going to get Joe Biden, who isn’t pro-life, who is for higher taxes, open borders, he’s going to succumb to China. Everything that we find disgusting he’s going to embrace it, including the socialists out here.”

Hey Mike, you pandering fuckmonkey. _____ is a racist who uses the Bible as a prop and you, an ALLEGED Christian, are fine with that.
What you’re livid about, Blanche, is the idea that if Biden gets in the wingnuts won’t control the courts and women’s right to make their own healthcare decisions will stay put.
But, you do you, support and vote for a racist as long as it keeps the Pro-choice movement down.
God will love you for that.
John OliverLast Week Tonight, on defunding police departments:

“The police have not just been incidentally tainted by racism. For much of U.S. history, law enforcement meant enforcing laws that were explicitly designed to subjugate black people. … All week long, protesters have continued to fill the streets in all 50 states in the wake of the horrific murder of George Floyd by the police. And in response to those protests, which have been a stirring pushback against institutional racism and brutality, it’s been frankly sickening to see them met with this. As for the president himself, he initially hid from the protesters in a bunker, later claiming he wasn’t hiding, he was just ‘inspecting’ it. Then, his attorney general had police gas protesters outside the White House so that _____ could have an inexplicable photo op at a nearby church while holding up a Bible like it’s the ticket for his sandwich order that was just called. He also, in announcing jobs numbers on Friday, invoked George Floyd’s name, saying, ‘This is a great day for him,’ which is utterly f**king disgusting. [Defunding police doesn’t mean all police would be eliminated] It means moving away from a narrow conception of public safety that relies on policing and punishment and investing in a community’s actual safety—things like stable housing, mental health services and community organizations. The concept is that the role of the police can then significantly shrink because they are not responding to the homeless or to mental health calls or arresting children in schools or really any other situation where they best solution is not someone showing up with a gun—that’s the idea of defunding the police.”

Defund doesn’t mean end the police force, it means take ack some of their massive budgets and use it in the communities they serve to help our citizens of color climb out of poverty, mental health issues, drug problems. If the communities have help, then you don’t need riot gear and tanks and tear gas.
Help those communities and help everyone.
Daniel Radcliffe, actor, speaking out against transphobic statements made by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling:

“Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I. According to The Trevor Project, 78% of transgender and nonbinary youth reported being the subject of discrimination due to their gender identity. It’s clear that we need to do more to support transgender and nonbinary people, not invalidate their identities, and not cause further harm. I realize that certain press outlets will probably want to paint this as in-fighting between J.K. Rowling and myself, but that is really not what this is about, nor is it what’s important right now. While Jo is unquestionably responsible for the course my life has taken, as someone who has been honored to work with and continues to contribute to The Trevor Project for the last decade, and just as a human being, I feel compelled to say something at this moment: to all the people who now feel that their experience of the books has been tarnished or diminished, I am deeply sorry for the pain these comments have caused you. I really hope that you don’t entirely lose what was valuable in these stories to you. If these books taught you that love is the strongest force in the universe, capable of overcoming anything; if they taught you that strength is found in diversity, and that dogmatic ideas of pureness lead to the oppression of vulnerable groups; if you believe that a particular character is trans, nonbinary, or gender fluid, or that they are gay or bisexual; if you found anything in these stories that resonated with you and helped you at any time in your life — then that is between you and the book that you read, and it is sacred. And in my opinion nobody can touch that. It means to you what it means to you and I hope that these comments will not taint that too much.”

Bravo, Daniel.
Rowling is under fire for recent Tweets suggesting that if you don’t menstruate, you aren’t a woman. She also said:
The idea that women like me, who’ve been empathetic to trans people for decades, feeling kinship because they’re vulnerable in the same way as women—ie, to male violence—‘hate’ trans people because they think sex is real and has lived consequences—is a nonsense.”
‘In the same way as women’? They are women, you tool. She supports trans people would march with trans people but thinks trans women are not women.
Ass.
Tucker Carlson, Fox News, spreading racism and hate and fear:

“This may be a lot of things, this moment we’re living through, but it is definitely not about black lives. And remember that when they come for you and at this rate, they will. Anyone who has ever been subjected to the rage of the mob knows the feeling. It’s like being swarmed by hornets. You cannot think clearly. And the temptation is to panic. But you can’t panic. You got to keep your head and tell the truth. Tell the truth. If you show weakness of any kind, they will crush you.”

There you have it: black people are coming for white people in mobs.
Racist Tucker fucker.
Eddie Redmayne, actor who starred in the film adaptation of JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts franchise and played trans pioneer Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl, on Rowling’s transphobic tweets:

“Respect for transgender people remains a cultural imperative, and over the years I have been trying to constantly educate myself. This is an ongoing process. As someone who has worked with both J.K. Rowling and members of the trans community, I wanted to make it absolutely clear where I stand: I disagree with Jo’s comments. Trans women are women, trans men are men and non-binary identities are valid. I would never want to speak on behalf of the community but I do know that my dear transgender friends and colleagues are tired of this constant questioning of their identities, which all too often results in violence and abuse. They simply want to live their lives peacefully, and it’s time to let them do so.”

It’s the simplest thing: treat people with respect, because you’d like the same in return.
General Mark Milley, the nation’s top military officer, on going with ____ to that church where he was photographed in his combat uniform:

“I should not have been there. My presence in that moment and in that environment created a perception of the military involved in domestic politics. As a commissioned uniformed officer, it was a mistake that I have learned from.”

Good on you now, but you really should have seen through that charade from the jump.
Milley also repeated his opposition to _____’s call for federal troops to be deployed nationwide to quell protests.

I Didn't Say It ....

Pete Buttigieg, Democratic presidential hopeful, on how he’s going to deal with countries that are anti-LGBTQ:

“When we show leadership, people respond, and that includes when we show by an election that we’re an inclusive country—whether that’s about an LGBT leader or in some other way—that other country leaders would actually be, to some extent, forced by world opinion to make some advancements. It’s one of the things that’s at stake right now if America is not trusted, is not respected, then it won’t much matter what we have to say about that or any other human rights issue.”

Pete wants an America that welcomes everyone and treats everyone equally.
How, in any way shape of form, in anyone’s mind, is that a bad thing?
Karen Pence, homophobe and wife of Vice President Michael Elisabeth Pence, on Pete Buttigieg’s questioning of her “husband’s” faith:

“It’s kind of funny because I don’t think the vice president does have a problem with him. But I think it’s helping Pete to get some notoriety. In our country, we need to understand, you shouldn’t be attacked for what your religious beliefs are.”

Says the woman who works at a religious school that denies entrance to the LGBTQ community.
Says the woman whose husband works with, and supports, a man who advocated banning all Muslims from the United States because of their religion.
Says the woman married to a man who tried to make it law that people running a business could use their so-called faith to discriminate, who voted for a constitutional amendment to ban marriage equality, who advocated conversion therapy as a means to fight HIV, who supports the transgender military ban.
That’s Karen and Michel Elisabeth Pence. For them religion is a weapon of intolerance, bigotry and discrimination.
Take a seat, Karen, God is watching you and She isn’t happy.
Ryan Reynolds, hot actor, on what he thought of Pose actor Billy Porter’s Oscars ensemble, a Christian Siriano couture masterpiece and if he’d ever wear a similar look:

“I loved that guy. He was easily the coolest looking human of that whole night. [And] you know what? The day is young and, man, he made that look good – so who knows?”

Porter was easily the best, fabulously dressed, and I love that Reynolds loves it, and that the idea of dressing like that is something he might actually do.
Chasten Buttigieg, Mayor Pete’s husband, on his husband, and their future:

“So I’ve had a busy couple months. Never underestimate what can happen when you agree to go on a date with a cute guy from South Bend, Indiana. I now live in a world where people take photos of me in the deodorant aisle at the grocery store, but it is not lost on me that I was able to marry the man I love by the grace of one Supreme Court vote. [One day] I could be the first man in history to pick out the White House china. We need someone in the White House who will sign the Equality Act into law, and luckily I know a guy. My husband Pete Buttigieg—you can call him Mayor Pete—was commissioned as a naval intelligence officer when ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ was still the law of the land, and served a seven-month tour in Afghanistan when a certain vice president was governor of his home state. Peter is ready to serve our country in the highest office, and just as importantly I think America is ready for him. Over the last three months of traveling the country at his side, meeting people from all walks of life, we have discovered that people are united in protecting our values of freedom, Democracy and security. Especially freedom to live an authentic life regardless of who you love or how you identify.”

His husband would make a great president and Chasten would be an excellent First Gentleman.
Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas governor and daddy of _____’s lying spokes-idiot, Sarah, saying The Gays are the “greatest threat” to America:

“The biggest threat to biblical principles today is the failure to apply a biblical standard of maleness and femaleness. We are creating this illusion that there is no gender, there is no identity, and I’m blaming the Christian Church. [California’s introduction of “no-fault divorce” in 1970 was] when we first started losing that sense of sacredness of what marriage meant. So I’m not really that surprised that same sex-marriage has become in vogue because the Christian Church were the ones who essentially abdicated a strict responsibility about what biblical marriage should look like. There are some people who are in single parenthood, not because they want to be, but because they were forced to be. And we ought to give [them] all the support. But we should never pretend that it is as good as a loving mother and father in a home where a child sees both genders play out their norms because that’s the modeling of behavior that would be ideal for a child to grow up in.”

Um, how do I say this? Oh, yeah, fuck off. This bigot once signed a pledge calling same-sex parents “destructive,” and a “threat to security,” and vowed to sign an executive order to protect “traditional” marriage and prosecute as hate crimes any attacks on the right of religious people to discriminate against LGBT people should he become president.  He has also compared same-sex marriage to incest and drug use.
So, again, fuck off, has been, the only reason anyone talks to you is because your daughter is the goose-stepper rabid dog of a traitorous president.
Quite a legacy, Mike.
John Kerry, former Secretary of State, praising Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her part in the Green New Deal, and denouncing the GOP for their complete lack of effort:

“There are a lot of different proposals on how to proceed. I don’t know that any of them are coming from your party or your side of the aisle. Do you have a plan to deal with climate change? I think you said you’re not sure of the science, but my focus is on how we’re going to move forward. In proposing what she has proposed together with Senator Markey, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez has in fact offered more leadership in one day or one week than President _____ has in his lifetime on this subject.”

Well, that’s because AOC has a brain and uses his, while ______’s head is filled with cheese.
Shawn Mendes, boy singer, on his Calvin Klein underwear ad:

“[It was] a goal of mine at the top of 2018. As much as it’s a stepping stone for me to play a stadium, it’s a huge moment for me to step in front of a camera and take my shirt off. I don’t see one being less meaningful than the other.”

Wait, so filling a stadium with fans desperate to hear you sing is the same as striping to your skivvies for a photograph and a fat paycheck?
Priorities much?

Bobservations

Believe it or not, but some Republican lawmakers in Utah are so pleased with _____’s decision to shrink two Utah national monuments that they want to honor him with his own road, the “_____ Utah National Parks Highway.”

But not if state Senator Jim Dabakis, a Democrat, has his way. If the House passes the bill, then Dabakis wants to attach an amendment to the Senate bill that would rename the frontage road that runs along the would-be _____ Utah National Parks Highway; and that frontage road would be called the “Stormy Daniels Rampway.”

Bam!

Sidenote: Dabakis, the co-founder of Equality Utah, is the only openly gay member of the Utah legislature.

The Gays can do snark better than anyone.
Speaking of gays … can we stop calling them gay athletes or gay actors or gay … “whatevers”, and just say they are athletes or actors or whatever. No one calls Tom Brady a straight football player, so why was Michael Sam a gay football player?

I mean, if you wanna say Sam is a football player who is openly gay, or Adam Rippon is a skater who is openly gay, that’s good. But they aren’t gay “whatevers”; they’re people who happen to be gay.

I long for the day when the gay label will end and we’ll just be people who can say “This is my husband,” and can either be a man or a woman and it really makes no difference.
In _____’s continuing war on Transgender people, the Education Department has announced that it will not investigate or take action on any complaints filed by transgender students who are banned from restrooms that match their gender identity.

Hate; once again hate from the _____ team.
Poor Mike Huckabee. First he’s an ass, then his daughter becomes the Lying Laughingstock of the US; and now this …

Mike Huckleberry joined the board of the Country Music Association Foundation on one morning and then was forced off by board members in protest of his anti-gay views twenty-four hours later.

One board member, Jason Owen, who is gay and a father, and manages Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves and Faith Hill, said:
“Huckabee speaks of the sort of things that would suggest my family is morally beneath his, and uses language that has a profoundly negative impact upon young people all across this country. Not to mention how harmful and damaging his deep involvement with the NRA is.”
Huckabee, for his part, whined like a little bitch, as is his habit:
“It appears that I will make history as having the shortest tenure in the history of the CMA Foundation Board.  I genuinely regret that some in the industry were so outraged by my appointment that they bullied the CMA and the Foundation with economic threats and vowed to withhold support for the programs for students if I remained.  I had NO idea I was that influential!  …  The message here is ‘Hate Wins.’”
Actually, asshat, the message here is that Hate Loses.
Wisconsin Governor, and Republican because, of course,  Scott Walker has come up with a strategy to stop the long string of Republican losses in special elections: he has stopped calling special elections.

Walker has refused to call special elections for Assembly District 42 and Senate District 1 by c;aiming that the state House term was almost over and it could wait until the midterms. But is that true, or is Walker the GOP will lose these right-leaning seats like they did in January when Democrat Patty Schactner flipped the heavily rural, pro-Trump Senate District 10. Walker called that special election a wake-up call and is now refusing to have any more special elections.

But Democrats are fighting back; the National Democratic Redistricting Committee [NDRC]) is suing to force Walker to hold those special elections.

This is how the GOP works these days; if they think they’ll lose a special election, they simply cancel all elections.
In Sorry Not Sorry news … _____’s former NSA advisor, and traitor, Michael Flynn has been forced to sell his house to pay his legal bills after pleading guilty to lying to FBI agents about his Russian contacts.

Again, Sorry Not Sorry… but look on the bright side Mike, prison will be free for you.
In This Makes Me Smile So Hard My Face Hurts news … _____’s fortune” has dropped some $400 million since he took office.

Sure, you can blame real estate—markets in New York City continue to struggle—but _____’s lack of personality is also to blame.

The value of _____’s hotel licensing and management company dropped an estimated $50 million in the last year because the _____ brand is fading; markets in Toronto and New York, where investors have removed the president’s name from hotels in New York and Toronto, and this week workers in Panama pried the _____ name off a hotel there.

The Fat Bastard has dropped 244 slots on the Forbes list, making him the 766th-richest person in the world.
At the top sits Jeff Bezos with an estimated $112 billion, which makes _____’s hated Washington Post owner about 37 times richer than he is.

My face hurts still.
And from this, too … the turnout for a rally on Sunday at the Lincoln Memorial in support of _____ that was organized by the Gays for _____ was attended by about 100 people.

So, there are at least 100 gays that are dumb.
Last week at _____ golf courses around the world, the presidential Seal began appearing …and by Presidential “Seal,” I don’t mean the Fat Bastard in a water tank having fresh fish thrown at him to eat, but the actual Presidential Seal of the United States.

Trouble is, that’s kind of illegal …go figure … and now _____ is trying to say that the seal was erected by enthusiastic members in honor of Presidents Day weekend.

Tell me another story, Nana.
Lastly … The Mens …from the top … Andy Favreau, who plays blond beefcake on Champions, a show with a sassy gay boy on it. Jordan Buhat is the hot drug-dealing cutie from Grown-ish, and Morgan Spector, a CIA agent with dimples for days on Homeland.

Just sayin'.

Random Musings

After spending time with my Dad recently, I realized that, while some children take after one parent or the other, I am literally both my parents rolled into one.

My dad loves to say about my Mom’s cooking style that she prepared enough food for an army but the army never showed up; Mom used to make a lot of food ... leftovers were popular ‘round our house.

And I’m like that ... I’ll make soup or my famous Enchilasagna for Carlos and me and there’s enough to feed the neighborhood ... or to freeze and have for dinner well into the next year.

And as for Dad? Growing up he was the Light Monitor; he would make sure that we turned off any and all unnecessary lights throughout the house ... sometimes while we were still in the room.

And I do that ... I came home from work the other day and, in the kitchen Carlos had turned on the light over the stove, the light over the sink, the lights over the island, the lights over the kitchen table, and the lights in the ceiling; fourteen lights in all. He had also turned on the light in the sunroom, the lights over the wet bar, two lamps in the living room, the hall lights, the bedroom lights, all the lights in the bathroom and the light in the closet where he stood removing his shoes.

I suddenly became my Dad ... poor Carlos. But at least we had leftovers for dinner ... by candlelight.
Mike Huckabee is saying that Donald _____ could be the greatest president ever.

Mike.Huckabee. A man who ran for president how many times and couldn’t even get out of the gates?

Yeah, I’ll take him seriously.
At the end of last month I posted a story about Tom Doyle, whose longtime partner, Bill Cornwellhad died and left Tom the Greenwich Village home they shared for fifty-three years ... see post HERE. But some of Bill’s greedier relatives took the home away from Tom saying the two men had never married and lived as roommates in a one-bedroom apartment for all those decades and so that meant Tom shouldn’t get the house; they should and they should be able to sell.

Now a New York judge has blocked the property’s sale by the dead man’s relatives and ordered them to show cause why Tom Doyle, as their uncle’s “surviving spouse,” should not be declared the “sole heir.”

Please; try to make it clear how two men, who had planned to get married when same-sex marriage became legal in New York but never did, and who lived together for over half a century, were not a couple and so Tom Doyle should be kicked out.

Oh, yeah, you can’t. Greedy Motherfuckers.
From the WTF File:

This week Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.

Seriously? He looks like an eraser.
From the Sit Down You Had Your Chance File ... more than half of the 112 anti-Trump protesters arrested in Portland, Oregon recently didn’t vote in the election.

Yes, they didn’t vote and when they didn’t like the outcome they took to the streets.

Sorry asshats, you don’t vote, you don’t get a say, cuz, you know, had you taken the time to cats your ballot, maybe the results would have gone the other way.

Sit.Down.
Um, People? If you were looking for Sexy Mens for your little magazine and could only come up with The Rock, might I suggest you take a look at ...

David Ajala, a sexy Brit with gorgeous eyes on USA’s Falling Water or ...

Deniz Akdenz, who plays Aladdin on Once Upon A Time where most of the fairy tale men are hothothot or ...

Juan Diego Botto, who plays a sexy Latino hit man on Good Behavior.

There’s some sexy men for you.
It must be Sweeps Month because shameless huckster “Dr.” Phil went to New Mexico and found actress Shelly Duvall, rumored to be suffering from mental illness, and brought her to LA to use her as a ratings get for his show.

Pig.
Again from the WTF File ... rumors are swirling that President-elect _____ is thinking of appointing South Carolina Governor, and virulent anti_____er Nikki Haley as Secretary of State.

I thought Rudy Giuliani was a horrid choice, but is _____ really thinking of putting someone in there who has almost no foreign policy experience?

I mean, why not me?
In North Carolina future ex-governor Pat McCrory is trailing his rival, Democratic Attorney General Roy Cooper, by about 5,000 votes.

But McCrory won’t go gently and is now filing election protests in 11 more counties.

McCrory, a Republican, is claiming voter fraud instead of just realizing he lost.

Go home, Pat, where you can pick and choose who uses the bathrooms.
An email scandal? Oh Hillary not again! How could you ... what? It’s not Hillary but future Vice President Mike Pence?

Yes, the Pence administration is fighting to conceal the contents of an email sent to Pence by a political ally while he was governor of Indiana. The email is being sought by a Democratic labor lawyer who says he wants to expose waste in the Republican administration.

But this isn’t the first time Mike Pence has sought to hide things from the public; after leaving Congress, where he served twelve years without passing so much as one bill of his own, Pence took the unprecedented step of sealing all of his records during his time in the House.

And keeping them sealed until 2022 or his death, whichever comes later.

Yup, Mike Pence is trying to hide secrets of his own, y’all. Go figure.
