Bobservations

With Carlos’ vision issues, we’ve had to change the way things are done at Casa Bob y Carlos, and one of the things we changed was the setting of the thermostat. We keep it set for heat at 68-degrees, and for the AC at 80-degrees and it works just fine. But Carlos had difficulty seeing the settings and so I set it for him, explaining that there are three buttons along the bottom of the thermostats and the far right one turns everything on.

“Push once for heat. I have it set at 68 and so the heat will come on if it’s colder than that.”

Carlos thought he needed to raise the heat so a couple of times this past winter I came home to find the heat on at 78 degrees. The same for the AC.

“Push the button twice for the AC. I have it set at 80 and it’ll come on when it gets too hot in the house.”

I came home the other day and it was 67 degrees in the house which, yes, should mean he’d want the heater on but …

Anyway, he found a smart thermostat that is voice activated and wondered if we should get one, and I said:

“If it helps you set the heating and cooling let’s get it, but just remember if we leave the heat set at 68 and AC set at 80, we never have to adjust, we just need to push the right button once or twice.”

“I think the voice activated one is better for me.”

“Why? Does it speak Spanish?”

It doesn’t, but he did, and very colorfully I might add.

After the recent cheering by the right at the thought of Roe v Wade being overturned coupled with this latest vote, it isn’t any clearer that the GOP only cares about a fetus, and not a child.

And they don’t care about women, or mothers, at all.

Eric Clapton who fought against COVID mask mandates for his tour last year has COVID must cancel the remaining dates on this leg of his tour.

If only there was something he could have done …

Sorry, not sorry, Covidiot.

We’ve been watching The First Lady on Showtime, which tells the stories of Michelle Obama, played by Viola Davis, Betty Ford played by Michelle Pfeiffer, and Eleanor Roosevelt played by Gillian Anderson.

I adore Viola, but her performance seems more caricature because she changed the way she moves her mouth, pursing her lips in way that seems unnatural to her, though reminiscent of Obama. Anderson is good as Eleanor, though she comes across as quite frail and I never got that impression by reading about Eleanor Roosevelt.

But Michelle Pfeiffer is brilliant as Betty Ford. Subtle, quiet; she reveals the character sometimes without saying a word. I’ve always liked Pfeiffer and thought her a good actor, but she’s amazing in this. The last episode dealt with Betty Ford's mastectomy and Michelle Pfeiffer slayed that role.

I’d watched her alone as Betty Ford.

In the wake of these two latest mass shootings in the United Sates of Guns, ALLEGED mad of ‘g’od Franklin Graham posted to Facebook that only a relationship with Jesus Christ can stop gun violence.

Really, Frank? Really, Cuz, there have been 198 shootings in this country so far this year so please tell me when Jesus is gonna stop the madness.

Or maybe he’s too busy picking winning basketball teams and baseball games.

Fuck all the way off, charlatan.

Jake Daniels, Blackpool soccer forward, has become the first player in the UK to come out as gay since Justin Fashanu in 1990. At just seventeen, Jake made his senior debut for the Blackpool club this month, but wants to be a role model for others in the game by coming out:

“Now is the time to do it. I feel like I am ready to tell people my story. I want people to know the real me.”

Welcome out, Jake, and please accept as our gift from HOMO HQ a copy of the Gay Agenda and the Official Coming Out Toaster Oven™.

Welcome out.

Ps He’s a hot little nugget.

Talk about a snowflake … according to ex-Secretary of Defense Mark Esper’s memoir, A Sacred Oath, Thing 45 once demanded that former General Stan McChrystal and former Admiral William McRaven be recalled into active duty just so that they could be court-martialed for criticizing Thing 45.

Seriously, what a little bitch.

Amid the political backlash with the GOP over Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law, Disney will be donating ALL the profits from its pride merchandise to charities that help the LGBTQ+ community like GLSEN, PFLAG, The Trevor Project, Zebra Coalition, Los Angeles LGBT Center, LGBT Center Orange County, San Francisco LGBT Center, and the Ali Forney Center.

Mickey has zero fucks to give.

Meghan McCain wrote a book after leaving The View that she called Bad Republican: A Memoir in which she “expresses how it is to feel like you no longer fit in with your political party.” The book first came out as an audio book and when a paperback version was released it sold … 244 copies. Ouch.

PS I imagine that hair pin cost her more than the book made.

This is Carlos Lazo, an Italian fitness model, and the question is quite simple: Would You Hit It?

I Ain't One To Gossip But ...

I kinda thought Kourtney Kardastrophe was the “normal” one in That Family, especially when she basically quit the show because she was fed up with the drama, real and imagined. But now we learn that, while traveling with new boyfriend Travis Barker, Kourtney went apeshit when he dropped his phone between their seats and demanded the plane wait for five minutes before taking off so she could find it.

Yes, Kourtney, by all means, let’s stop all incoming and outgoing plane traffic because your boyfriend lost his phone. Clearly, Kourtney is all Kardastrophe.

I imagine John McCain is looking down at his daughter Meghan—and, to be fair, don’t we all look down at Meghan—after her latest bit of histrionics.

Last season, The View cohosts did the show from their homes, but this season the show was back in the studio. And that’s why Meghan says she left the show; she didn’t want to leave her husband and baby in DC, where they live, to travel to NYC, so she packed her spoiled bratitude and quit.

But then she wrote a book and that story isn’t quite a highpoint for her so suddenly she now says she left because Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg were mean to her. In the book, Meghan explained that she decided to leave on her second day back from maternity leave when, during a disagreement with Joy Behar, Meghan said Joy had missed her, and Joy replied:

“No, I didn’t.”

And that’s when Meghan decided she just couldn’t stay, and then trotted out the right’s favorite buzzwords like “toxic” and “bullying.” And she also blames Whoopi, because one day in 2019—two years ago—Meghan says Whoopi told her to stop talking because, as usual McCain was shouting and trying to overtalk and out-talk everyone else and Whoopi was trying to get the show to a commercial and told Meghan to pipe it all the way down. Meghan responded, as adults do, by saying she wasn’t going to talk for the rest of the show.

She didn’t leave because she had a baby she left because she’s a self-entitled spoiled child. And Daddy doesn’t like that, hon.

Oh Madge, is there nothing you won’t do for publicity?

Madonna covers the latest issue of V Magazine in full Marilyn Monroe drag and tried to recapture the scene of Marilyn’s death from a  drug overdose in 1962. Marilyn was 36 at the time and Madge is 63 now and so she thinks there is something to those numbers to Madge. And then she has the balls to say she used photographer Steven Klein to capture the magic of Marilyn’s last photo shoot to pay “homage to the glamour and tragedy” of Marilyn.

Really? Recreating her death is an homage? The thirst of this bitch is real.

Madge, hon, you will never be Marilyn, so stop trying.

Will Smith has a new movie coming out that I won’t see because, well, Will Smith. And he also has a new memoir coming out that I won’t read because, well, Will Smith.

But in the book he claims that he went all Method Actor during the filming of Six Degrees of Separation and ended up falling in love with co-star Stockard Channing while married to his first wife Sheree Zampino.

Funny, though, that he only went Straight Method Actor because, though he says he fell in love with Channing while playing a gay character he refused to kiss Anthony Michael Hall in a scene that called for the two men to kiss.

Spare me your Method, Will, you’re just a homophobe, and an ass.

I did not know this and never had any idea, but actor Kal Penn has come out as gay and reveled that he is engaged to his partner Josh, whom he’s been in a relationship with for 11 years. The couple met when Penn took a break from acting to work in the White House under President Obama’s administration.

He wrote all about their love story—and their not-so-great first date—in his memoir, “You Can’t Be Serious,” saying Josh showed up to his apartment with an 18-pack of Coors Light and immediately changed the TV channel to watch Nascar:

“I thought, ‘This obviously is not going to work out.’ I have one day off from The White House and this dude is unironically watching cars go around and make left turns?”

A few months later Penn was watching Nascar every Sunday with Josh, and now they’re getting married. Congrats to the happy couple.

I Ain't One To Gossip But ...

Goddess, could Meghan McCain be a viler individual? Short answer: no.

On The View this week—her last week thank the goddess—McCain took a swipe at Kathy Griffin in response to Kathy’s announcement that she has lung cancer and was undergoing surgery. See, Meghan still has her granny panties in a twist over jokes Kathy made jokes about Clay Aiken’s sexuality years ago:

“I don’t like her; I’m never going to like her.”

I wonder how McCain would feel knowing all the people who said they didn’t like her father after his cancer diagnosis. Oh wait, we know because she’s talked about it endlessly. So this is just another case of Meghan McCains self-entitled, spoiled little rich girl, conservative bitch-i-tude because Meghan also had zero problems when her rightwingnutjob husband, Ben Domenech, made gay jokes about Seth Meyers when Meyers dared make fun of his wife.

I cannot wait for this awful human being to be off TV for a while …a long while.

Sidenote: Clay Aiken sent Kathy lots of love and prayers for her surgery, which went quite well by the way. So, you see …Meghan McCain is a horrible hypocritical person. Be gone before someone drops a house on you.

Back in May  when JLo and Ben Affleck  reconciled 17 years after their initial split, one of JLo’s exes—and there are many—Diddy, posted an old paparazzi photo of him and JLo holding hands. Commenters took the since-deleted post as Diddy trolling Bennifer 2.OMFG but now Diddy says his motives were pure and, “that’s just my friend.”

Oh, and he used the interview to announce that he’s changed his name again … he was Sean Combs, then Sean John, then Puffy, Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Diddy, and now he’s …wait for it …it’s desperate … no, it’s not literally desperate … it’s Love.

Seriously. I thought he’d choose something more relevant, like ‘Over.’

Homophobic rapper DaBaby—seriously that’s the name he chose—is apologizing for being a rabid homophobe who is also ignorant AF about  HIV and AIDS.  I mean, he said some antigay shiz, and was called out for it by the likes of Elton John, Madge, Questlove, and even his one-time collaborator Dua Lipa, but wasn’t about to apologize.

See, at last month’s Rolling Loud music festival, DaFool, used his time on stage to wax poetic about women whose “pussy smell like water” and how he loves them. What he does not love, however, are men who are “sucking dick in the parking lot” and people with HIV, because he doesn’t want to be around something “that’ll make you die in two or three weeks.” So, like I said, a lot of famous folks took DaBaby to task and he doubled down and refused to apologize until … he was dropped from several high-paying gigs and thought he might soon have to change his name to DaBrokeAss. And so he said this:

“I ain’t trippin on y’all, do you. Y’all business is y’all business.”

Not really an apology, and not enough to keep the jobs from disappearing. He lost a campaign with the clothing brand boohooMAN, and was dropped from several music festivals including Lollapalooza, the Governors Ball, and Day N Vegas. And now he’s sorry, posting his to Instagram:

Oops, sorry DaBaby, but when you apologize by blaming social media for making your bigotry go viral, you still aren’t really apologizing, and the jobs keep looking at you and saying:

“Um. It’s a DaNo.”

After his Instapology DaBaby was dropped from the Austin City Limits Festival and the iHeartRadio Music Festival; he will not be performing at the Can’t Wait: Live! benefit concert in Philadelphia or the Parklife Festival in Manchester.

DaBaby is DaIdiot. And I’m SorryNotSorry.

When you are being accused of being part of a million-dollar scam with your ALLEGEDLY soon-to-been-husband, Rule One is “stop talking.” Especially when you appear on a reality show and your words are on film for all the world to hear. Know what I mean, Erika Jayne?

It seems that statements that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills “star” made on the show can and will be used against her in a court of law by Ronald Richards, the attorney investigating the bankruptcy case of Girardi Keese, her “estranged” husband Tom Girardi’s law firm, who says:

“The show is a treasure trove of self-authenticating admissions from non-scripted actors who did not anticipate that many months later those statements would come back to haunt them or that they would be investigated. This is because none of the housewives have a duty to tell the truth on television. They are now caught in [an] undesirable legal position, were they lying then or now.”

And this has Erika Jayne ALLEGEDLY running scared because she just asked the court to remove Richards from the case, claiming he made “false and inflammatory social media posts and public statements” suggesting that she was not participating in his investigation. She also slammed him as a “clown ass,” “low budget” lawyer on Twitter.

Oh, someone’s nervous.

Poor Dean McDermott, AKA Mr. Tori Spelling. He and his wife have long been rumored to be breaking up because their lives are no longer interesting enough to sell to any channel for a reality show and why stayed married if it no longer turns a profit?

The gossip started last March when Tori made sure to be photographed without her wedding ring—which she probably hocked to pay a credit card bill—and then celebrated their eldest daughter’s birthday without Daddy Dean, and then left him off the family Christmas card, didn’t say squat to him ON SOCIAL MEDIA for Father’s Day and took the word “wife” on her Instagram page, though she inexplicably left the word “Actress” there.

Looks like it’s over, and rumor has it that Dean is cool with it except … they’re both too broke to break up. If only they’d paid their bills while they were married and were in debt up to their out-of-work eyeballs, maybe they’d have the coins for an attorney or two?

Someone needs a GoFundMe page.

photo

Sweet news? After almost 20 years of dating John Corbett and Bo Derek secretly tied the knot six months ago. John says:

“Around Christmas time we got married. Bo and I got married. After 20 years, we decided to get married. We didn’t want 2020 to be that thing where everybody looks back and hated it. Let’s get one nice thing out of this.”

Congrats to the happy couple.

I Ain't One To Gossip But ...

It was just three years ago that Demi Lovato suffered a heroin overdose, from which she recovered and decided to live a sober lifestyle.

Now Demi has decided to classify themselves—Lovato's pronouns are ‘they’ and ‘them’—as, ahem,  as “California sober,” meaning they can still smoke weed and drink.

Sounds to me like ‘California Sober’ is just the first step toward rehab or death.

Sorry, Demi, you can’t be ‘a little bit’ sober.

Olivia Jade Giannulli, Lori Loughlin’s social-media-famous daughter and college-unworthy “rower”, has lashed out at the HBO Max reboot of Gossip Girl which, she says, claimed she capitalized on her parents’ college-admissions scandal and subsequent jail time.

On the show one character quipped that Olivia Jade raked in social media followers because her mom and dad sent to the Big Fuller House over cheating their daughters’ way into USC.

Olivia Jade, clearly not the sharpest oar in the water—see what I did there? She faked photos of herself on the rowing team so I used oar and … I’ll stop—Tweeted back to the show:

“No, I didn’t.”

Wow, she’s quick. I’m surprised she couldn’t get into USC on her own merits. No, I’m not.

photo

This is the first ad for the Samantha-less reboot of Sex and the City  called  And Just Like That… Something Nobody Asked For. I kid, I added that last bit.

The three remaining ladies—Cynthia Nixon as Miranda, Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie, and Kristin Davis as Charlotte—are pictured strolling next to a trash can … which is where most of their careers went until someone sold this mess to HBO, and just look at their faces.

SJP’s says, “I’m getting more money than these two ho’s for this drivel.”

Kristen’s says, “Did I get enough Botox and fillers to make me look younger than SJP?”

And Nixon’s face says, “I was a candidate for governor and now I’m back to this shiz?”

Sorry HBO, no Samantha, no me.

Can you feel the shift in the force after Meghan McCain announced she was leaving the show? It’s good, right? But Meghan, never one to do anything quietly, is responding to the haters and the gossipers who ruining the internet saying McCain was forced pout because no one on the show likes her. Meghan took to social media to respond like this, in a Tweet that has since been deleted:

“So much chatter, so much gossip, so many, many, many questions people are asking me this past week … I pride myself on always taking big risks, rolling the dice, and making unpredictable life and career choices. I’ve never fit in a box and I never will.”

She concluded the post with the New Hampshire state motto:

“Live free or die.”

All that’s missing is the foot stop, Meghan running down the hallway, a slamming door, and the sound of muffled tears in a pillow.

#ByeKaren

The only thing I’ll miss are those tragic daily hair accidents.

Lotsa people are Team Britney, as the pop singer, Britney Spears, seeks to extricate herself from the conservatorship she’s been under for what seems like decades, but leave it to Madonna to overdo it … much like her face and makeup and, um, “singing’.

In her Instagram Stories, Madonna slammed the conservatorship and compared it to slavery and then positioned herself as a modern-day Harriet Tubman trying to steal Britney towards freedom:

“Give this woman her life back. Slavery was abolished so long ago! Death to the greedy patriarchy that has been doing this to women for centuries. This is a violating of human rights! Britney, we coming to get you out of jail!”

Cue Madge dropping from the ceiling of the courthouse and grabbing Britney up to safety. Then cue Madge trying to make some money off of it.

I think there’s room on the Karen Bench with Meghan.

And now for something sweet and fun from a real star … Back in 1978 Dolly Parton was asked to pose for Playboy; she declined but did pose in the iconic bunny costume for a cover of the magazine. And Dolly infamously said she’d pose for Playboy when she was seventy-five.

Well, she’s seventy-five, but she has outlived Playboy, so did the next best thing. For her husband Carl Dean’s 79th birthday, Dolly recreated her Playboy cover and showed Carl and the world that she’s still got it, saying:

“Today is July 20. It’s my husband Carl’s birthday and you’re probably wondering why I’m dressed like this. Remember some time back I said I was going to pose for Playboy magazine when I was 75? Well, I’m 75 and they don’t have a magazine anymore but my husband always loved the original cover of Playboy, so I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy. He still thinks I’m a hot chick after 57 years—and I’m not going to try to talk him out of that. I did a little photoshoot in this little outfit and I had a cover made of the new Dolly. The first one, remember this? I was kind of a little butterball in that one. Well, I’m string cheese now. But he’ll probably think I’m cream cheese … I hope.”

Yes, ma’am.

I Ain't One To Gossip But ...

If you ever attend a party at Tommy Cruise’s house, do not, by any means, push any button. And I don’t just mean the button you push when you walk up to Tommy and say, “Scientology is a cult!” Or “Leah was right!” or “How many fake marriages have you had?”

No, I don’t mean those buttons, I mean an actual button that was pushed by actress Kyra Sedgwick, who was invited to a party at Tom’s house in the early 1990s and ended up having the place surrounded by the police after she touched something in the house. Here’s what she says:

“[T]here was this, like, fireplace mantel and I was looking around and there was this little button underneath the mantel. A little button. I was like, ‘Oh, what is that little button?’ So, I pressed the little button because I just thought maybe something interesting will happen. Nothing happened and then I got a little nervous. I was like, ‘Oh, nothing happened that doesn’t seem right.’ So, I tapped Tom on the shoulder, who was in the middle of a story, and I said, ‘I pressed this button down here.’ And he was like, ‘You pressed that button?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I pressed that button.’ And he goes, ‘That’s the panic button.'”
The police were automatically called out to Tommy’s house, and he was forced to explain that it was all a mistake.

It could have been worse … she could have pushed that other button and asked:

“Have you seen your daughter lately?”

I imagine an entire Co$ swat team would have descended on the house and Kyra Sedgwick might never have been seen again.

photo

It was literally five minutes ago that I told y’all how Chrissy Teigen had shut down her Twitter account because of tall the hate she gets when she says stupid things. Chrissy said it was no longer fun and light and lively and she would have nothing more to do with it.

Tick Tock. Chrissy’s back on Twitter because you cannot keep a social media whore off social media. After a grueling 22 days—how did he do it—of nothing and no one talking about her, Chrissy came back, Tweeting:

“turns out it feels TERRIBLE to silence yourself and also no longer enjoy belly chuckles randomly throughout the day and also lose like 2000 friends at once lol”
Um, Chrissy, they aren’t “friends” they’re followers, because, and I’m guessing here, even you would recognize a friend if you walked by them on the street.

Scientologist, and actor, Danny Masterson isn’t quite ready to defend himself against charges of rape, and is saying it’s all Leah Remini’s fault.

Masterson’s lawyers filed papers in LA ALLEGING that Remini’s well-documented campaign against Co$ extending to his court case. Masterson claims Remini pushed for the three women in his case—all Jane Does—to make reports to the Los Angeles Police Department. Masterson claims that the LAPD is “starstruck” by Leah Remini and he also ALLEGES she has a close relationship with LAPD detectives, “even using them as her personal security. And, if that isn’t enough, he claims Remini guided the women as they gave statements to prosecutors.

And because of all that he needs more time.

Huh. Notice how he never once says he did not rape those women, but just that Leah Remini doesn’t like him or his church cult.

If you watch The View at all, you cannot help but wonder if it’s not her co-workers who despise her, it’s her hairdresser.

Meghan serves a different concoction every day, some odd, some strange, and some just downright awful, and now her hair stylist, Carmen Currie, is speaking out to tell us all that she does not hate Meghan McCain:

“I’m not slapping something on her and being like, “Take THAT!” I’m not telling her what to do all the time, it’s not like that at all. I want her to feel comfortable, I want her to feel confident with what I’m doing, and I want her to like it overall, and she does. I think it shows, and that’s part of what people are picking up on … There’s no fun hair and fun makeup; it’s very straightforward and obviously more conservative. Working with Meghan and The View, I get to be more creative and more artistic with the looks.”

Nice try Carmen, but if you don’t hate Meghan, please to explain these lewks:

Uh huh.

I Didn't Say It ...

Barack Obama, after the shootings of the last few days calling for gun control:

“It is long past time for those with the power to fight this epidemic of gun violence to do so. It will take time to root out the disaffection, racism and misogyny that fuels so many of these senseless acts of violence. But we can make it harder for those with hate in their hearts to buy weapons of war. We can overcome opposition by cowardly politicians and the pressure of a gun lobby that opposes any limit on the ability of anyone to assemble an arsenal. We can, and we must. A once-in-a-century pandemic cannot be the only thing that slows mass shootings in this country. It’s time for leaders everywhere to listen to the American people when they say enough is enough.”

Nice words, but we’ve been saying ‘enough is enough’ for years, and our elected officials in DC are too far deep in the pockets of the NRA.

That’s the change we need; no more NRA!

photo

Jeanine Pirro, the chardonnay-drinking, perhaps drunk on air, Fox News hack, says migrants are a “lower level of human being”:

“We’re spending 86 million dollars for 1,200 families to get them hotel rooms, while we’ve got 10 million Americans out of work? We’ve got 10 million Americans who are going to be competing with people for jobs? It’s not about politics. When that sheriff said to me, ‘Jeanine, this is modern-day slavery.’ The bringing of these children into this country, where they will be forever connected to a cartel, is slavery. What we’re doing here is we are promoting a lower level of human being, who will be controlled from other countries. So stop trying to make this about this is who—not who we are. This is about crime coming into this country and it’s a reality. And we’re losing.”

It’s stunning to me that a pundit, even an idiot like Pirro, can say the most racist things on a news show and her bosses don’t come for her.

Ain’t that America? We won’t end racism until we silence the racists.

photo

Jody Hice, [Q-GA], believes Washington DC should not be granted statehood because … :

“D.C. would be the only state, the only state, without an airport, without a car dealership, without a capital city, without a landfill, without even a name on its own, and we can go on and on and on.”

Washington, D.C. is home to more than 700,000 residents, which means it has a greater population than Wyoming, but, shoot, no car dealerships.

Damn.

photo

John Oliver, taking on Meghan McCain for saying Thing #45’s use of the racist ‘China Virus’ would help him get votes in 2020 and then Tweeting for an end to anti-Asian violence in 2021:

“Oh good! Meghan McCain doesn’t have a problem with it. Listen not to the scores of Asian Americans telling everyone that the term is dangerous and offensive. Instead, gather around and take the word of a wealthy white woman who’s dressed like she’s about to lay off 47 people over Zoom. Meghan McCain posted this week, ‘Stop Asian Hate,’ with three broken hearts emoji, which is a fine sentiment to throw up on Twitter after the fact, [but] there has to be an understanding that saying, ‘I don’t have a problem with calling it the China virus’ is very much giving space for hate to grow. The minimization of racist rhetoric plays into the harmful stereotype of Asian Americans as a model minority pitting them against other minority groups and pressuring them to swallow their experiences with racism, without making a stink because that’s how you earn white acceptance, and that is something that takes its toll. Our long, ugly history of anti-Asian racism and the fact that it often peaks during times of crisis is the exact reason why, just last year, many were loudly warning that [the twice-impeached, one-term loser] calling COVID names like the ‘China virus’ was likely to lead to a rise in violence against people of Asian descent—an argument that not everyone, at the time, seemed to find convincing.”

Bang on, John.

photo

Meghan McCain, apologizing on Twitter for her anti-Asian statements:

“I condemn the reprehensible violence and vitriol that has been targeted towards the Asian-American community. There is no doubt [the twice-impeached, one-term loser]’s racist rhetoric fueled many of these attacks and I apologize for any past comments that aided that agenda.”

What’s the deal with McCain? A supposedly educated woman who spouts such ignorance. She spends more time apologizing for being a moron than she does making sense.

PS Now apologize for stealing Barbara Eden’s I Dream of Jeanie hair.

Stella Keating, a transgender high school student, speaking before the Senate Judiciary Committee, about the Equality Act:

“Good morning. My name is Stella Keating and my pronouns are she/her. I am 16 years old, and I live in the state of Washington. I am a sophomore in high school and just got my driver’s license which was a great day! What happens if I want to attend college in a state that doesn’t protect me? Right now, I could be denied medical care or be evicted for simply being transgender in many states. How is that even right? How is that even American? Right now, I live in a state where I have equal protection under the law. And as a high school sophomore, I’m starting to look at colleges, and all I can think about is this: less than half of the states in our country provide equal protection for me under the law. What if I’m offered a dream job in a state where I can be discriminated against? Even if my employer is supportive, I still have to live somewhere. Eat in restaurants. Have a doctor. And why am I having to worry about all of this at the age of 16?”

Out of the mouths of babes comes simple truth.

I Didn't Say It ...

Pete Buttigieg, Transportation Secretary, telling Seth Meyers on Late Night  about proposing to his husband Chasten in O’Hare Airport at Gate B5:

“I found this app that I could check on when it was going to be quiet at that gate based on when planes were coming and going. I kind of guided him into that spot, I was like, ‘why don’t you show me that spot where you first were when we started chatting with each other?’ I invited him to look out the window there and then got on one knee. I told him it would be a lot like being in the airport. Life with me would be probably hard to steal private moments but also full of adventure. And, uh, luckily for me he said ‘yes.'”

When Pete and Chasten first communicated on the Hinge app, Chasten mentioned he was at gate B5 at O’Hare, so when Pete was ready to propose, he waited until the two of them were going on a vacation, and asked Chasten to show him the spot where they first “talked.”

Damn. Hot. Smart. Romantic. Chasten is one lucky guy, though I think Pete got lucky, too.

Meghan McCain, John McCain’s daughter, dammit, and co-host of The View, wants President Biden to fire Dr. Anthony Fauci because he hasn’t said when she can get the vaccine.

“The fact I, Meghan McCain, co-host of The View, don’t know when or how I will be able to get a vaccine because the rollout for my age range and my health is so nebulous, I have no idea when and how I can get it. If you call me at 3:00 in the morning, I will go any place at any time to get it. I want to be responsible and obviously, wait my turn, but this rollout has been a disaster, and I understand President Trump can take much of the blame,” McCain continued “Now we’re in the Biden administration, and I would look for something to look forward to, and to hope for because if getting the vaccine means that just nothing changes and we have to wait another few years till everyone gets it, there’s already a lot of people not getting it. We’re already having a messaging problem getting people to take this vaccine. So, I’m over Dr. Fauci. I think we need to have more people giving more opinions and honestly, quite frankly, I think the Biden administration should remove him and put someone else in place that maybe does understand science, or can talk to other countries about how we can be more like these places who are doing this successfully.”

Poor Meghan. No special treatment. And also, no words about the giant fuckup by her party and its leaders in this pandemic, and no acknowledgement of the strides made in the first four weeks of the Biden Administration.

Take a seat, Karen.

Nikki Fried, Florida Agriculture Commissioner, directing her department not to lower its flags in honor of Rush Limbaugh, who died last week:

“I will not lower the flags at my Department’s state offices for Rush Limbaugh. Lowering our flag should reflect unity, not division—and raising our standards, not lowering them. Lowering to half-staff the flag of the United States of America is a sacred honor that pays respect to fallen heroes and patriots. It is not a partisan political tool. Therefore, I will notify all state offices under my direction to disregard the Governor’s forthcoming order to lower flags for Mr. Limbaugh—because we will not celebrate hate speech, bigotry, and division. Lowering the flag should always reflect unity, not division, and raising our standards, not lowering them. Our flags will remain flying high to celebrate the American values of diversity, inclusion, and respect for all.”

In Florida, y’all. A politician with a backbone and conviction.

Jesse Watters, Fox News host, showing why he’s a Fox News host:

“Biden’s never going to be the one to throw on the bomber jacket and the khakis and go off to Air Force One and show that his heart is with Texas. Like any other president, Bush, Clinton, Obama, Trump, they would have already been there, throwing out paper towels or whatever presidents do to make it look like, for the cameras, that they care. I mean, politicians have to do that. It is effective because you want to make sure the country can rally around the recovery. He barely campaigned, I think he’s barely going to govern.”

Perhaps Biden didn’t go because the situation was such a mess and his presence there wouldn’t help? Perhaps he didn’t go because he has better things to do? COVID? Heard of it?

Perhaps the idea that you think he should go just for the photo op shows how sad your ‘news’ operation is. Fuck all the way off, hack.

President Joe Biden, urging passage of the Equality Act:

“I urge Congress to swiftly pass this historic legislation. … Full equality has been denied to LGBTQ+ Americans and their families for far too long. Despite the extraordinary progress the LGBTQ+ community has made to secure their basic civil rights, discrimination is still rampant in many areas of our society. The Equality Act provides long overdue federal civil rights protections on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, locking in critical safeguards in our housing, education, public services, and lending systems—and codifying the courage and resilience of the LGBTQ+ movement into enduring law.”

It's equality; it’s not special treatment.

Equality; and if you think that’s a bad thing there is no helping you.

Malcolm Kenyatta, Pennsylvania state Representative, and Democrat, announced that he’s running for U.S. Senate being vacated by Pat Toomey:

“America is really at a crossroads right now. I think that was made even more clear by what happened on January 6. And the reality is there nothing’s written on a tablet somewhere that says America has to succeed. You know, America succeeds because every generation steps up to protect and expand the promise of America, a promise that has excluded for too long so many working families whose lives were tough prior to COVID, and this deadly pandemic has made those cracks even worse. And so, I know that we have an opportunity right now to expand that promise, to make sure we that we have a country that doesn’t just talk about justice and fairness for all but that actually makes it real, and it’s with faith in that mission and joy in my heart that I’m announcing here tonight that I’ll be a candidate for the United States Senate to represent the great commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”

Kenyatta, who was Pennsylvania’s first openly LGBTQ person of color elected to the state’s General Assembly in 2018, would also be the first openly gay black man elected to the U.S. Senate if elected.

Let’s do this!
