Bobservations

We all know about Carlos’ eyesight and his limited knowledge of popular, or current culture, so here’s a little tale about that.

One rainy Sunday I was curled up in a living room chair watching TV and Carlos came into the room:

“What are you watching? Will & Grace?”

‘Why that show? What makes you think it’s Will & Grace?”

“I hear a man and a woman talking and there’s laughing.”

“So any time you hear a TV show with a man and woman talking and laughing it’s Will & Grace?”

“I don’t know … “

“Why don’t you just ask, ‘What are you watching?’

This past weekend I was watching a movie and Carlos enters the room:

“What are you watching? The Terminator?”

“Why that movie?”

“I don’t know. I thought I heard a robot.”

“Why don’t you say, ‘What are you watching?’”

“What are you watching?”

Spiral.”

“I don’t know that movie.”

“Sigh … I know.”

The man slays me.

This Tuxedo Memory is from March 2019 and is entitled ‘Lazy Weekend ...For Some of Us’

"We spent the morning on Friday getting the taxes done and were surprised to see we were getting a rather healthy refund.

That was nice. But then, with the onset of spring, and some slightly warmer days, there were lawns to mow and hedges to trim, and a ten-foot-tall holly bush off the deck that needed to be reshaped for spring; a little help with the ladder and I was able to give Holly a haircut.

Sunday was Carlos' turn in the yard and trimming bushes and replanting a tree and weeding along the fence.

Fun times. But we did manage to squeeze in some time with Tuxedo on the deck. Our cats don't go outside because, living in a somewhat rural area, there are all kinds of things they can catch from critters that roam through our yard. Still, Tuxedo is allowed out, and on the table on the deck, but only with supervision, AKA me, and only when it's nice and sunny for him to warm his bones, and then take a breather in the sun.

Not a bad life, really, for us, and Tuxedo.”

I miss those days on the deck with my Boy and my Man.

The Felon’s campaign may talk a big game, but when faced with potential legal action from Beyoncé, they folded like the ill-fitting, makeup-stained suit of their candidate.

On Thursday, Beyoncé issued a cease and desist to The Felon’s campaign after spokesperson Steven Cheung posted a video on social media featuring DonOLD deplaning in Michigan, soundtracked to Beyoncé’s song “Freedom.”

“Freedom” is, of course, the official campaign theme song of Vice President Kamala Harris—a choice that Beyoncé personally approved, so naturally The Felon tried to steal it.

In the Sorry Not Sorry file comes news that former Representative current convicted felon George Santos’ campaign has $562 in cash on hand but also owes $786,932 in debt.

Santos faces at least two years in federal prison for identity theft and up to 20 years in prison for wire fraud.

I don’t think he can all that back even working full-time in the prison laundry.

I guess if you’re a cowboy and you’ll be riding horses all day, it helps to come equipped with the extra padding.

The man who calls himself The Felon’s Prophet, Johnny Enlow, has a very exciting announcement: a big-time celebrity is going to endorse The Felon! And even better that celebrity is … dead. Or maybe a celebrity who faked his or her death? Or a celebrity zombie?

We won’t know right away because Enlow claims he’s “not yet allowed” to reveal the name of the dead celebrity.

Dead celebrities can be hard to work with, I’m guessing.

The so-called “Catwoman,” Jocelyn Wildenstein has given the world a look at her original face. The Swiss socialite, 82, looked like a blond bombshell lounging on a couch with her daughter Diane sitting on her lap. With her hair coiffed in a wavy bob, Wildenstein appeared casual and chic while peering off into the distance.

But then she did this … and then this and Catwoman was born.

And now she looks like this … and then this after having gone through multiple face lifts, eye lifts and more.

Jocelyn’s post comes after she claimed her late ex-husband Alec Wildenstein’s family cutting her off from her $100 million annual divorce settlement payment and so now, to make a few coins to pay for any future renovations to her face, Jocelyn is making a documentary about her life and faces.

This is Uriah Harris. He’s a model, trainer, lifestyle coach, has a nice smile and a pretty body, so I ask: Would You Hit It?

Sick and Dying of Something

Robert David Steele, a devout QAnon-nutbag and COVID denier, has apparently died from the virus. Steele refused to wear a mask and called COVID a hoax.

Marc Bernier, an anti-vaxxer talk radio host, died after a three-week battle with COVID.

Caleb Wallace, a leader in the anti-mask movement in central Texas, and labeled COVID a hoax, has come down with the virus, and has been in intensive care for the past three weeks clinging to life.

Lisa Steadman, a Winter Haven woman, was recently hospitalized with COVID and is now grieving the loss of her husband who died from COVID-19 complications while she was hospitalized. Lisa says that neither of them had received a COVID-19 vaccine, not because they were against it, but because they wanted to wait.

An anonymous unvaccinated elementary school teacher in California was diagnosed with COVID has infected half of the students in their classroom. The teacher showed up to work while symptomatic, and continued to teach for two days before receiving a test.

Tim Parsons, a Kentucky pastor, has died from COVID-19 despite desperate prayers from his congregation asking the Lord to restore him “back to his normal self.”

Joe Manning, a longtime member of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office who pushed Ivermectin as a COVID drug has died after a shirt battle with the virus.

Again, in these cases, ignorance was also a virus.

This Bitch: Jenna Ryan, Terrorist

Jenna Ryan, a North Texas real estate agent who booked a private plane to take her to the attack on the Capitol last week—cuz nothing says disenfranchised like a bitch flying private—turned herself in to authorities.

Good. Now … lock her up. Ryan faces charges of knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, but Jenna the Terrorist says:

“I just want people to know I’m a normal person. That I listen to my president who told me to go to the Capitol. That I was displaying my patriotism while I was there and I was just protesting and I wasn’t trying to do anything violent and I didn’t realize there was actually violence. I’d just like to apologize for all of the families that are affected by any of the negative environment and I’d just like to say I really love people and I am not a villain that a lot of people would make me out to be, or people think I am, because I was a _____ supporter at the Capitol.”

And then says she thinks _____ should pardon her:

“I think we all deserve a pardon. I’m facing a prison sentence. I think I do not deserve that and from what I understand, every person is going to be arrested that was there, so I think everyone deserves a pardon, so I would ask the President of the United States to give me a pardon.”

Jenna Ryan, terrorist and, well, really stupid terrorist, posted a picture of herself posing outside the Capitol in front of a broken window with a caption that read:

“Window at the capital (sic). And if the news doesn’t stop lying about us we’re going to come after their studios next.”

And Jenna Ryan still believes she did nothing wrong:

“I don’t feel a sense of shame or guilty from my heart. I feel like I was basically following my president. I was following what we were called to do. He asked us to fly there. He asked us to be there. So I was doing what he asked us to do. I do feel a little wronged in this situation because I’m a real estate agent and this has taken my company. This has taken my business. I am being slandered all over the internet, all over the world and all over the news and I’m just like a normal person.”

A normal person who attacked the Capitol, illegally entered the building and took selfies for fun. Here’s a question for little Jenna … if you and your cohorts went to a bank and you waited in the car awhile they went in and robbed the place, and then came out and you drive them away, you are a bank robber. You, flying private to DC, and following a mob to the Capitol, who busted windows and doors and broke in while you posed all pretty and shiz, makes you a terrorist, and if you lost your business and your reputation, well, then that falls into the category of … no one gives a good goddamn about you. Especially since you are the same Jenna Ryan who Tweeted last summer, after a BLM protest:

“I don’t like seeing this, however, those riots must be contained and the rioters and the agitators need to be prosecuted.”

Spoke to soon, eh Jenna? One of her last Tweets:

You can never cancel Jenna Ryan.

But we have, Bitch. I hope they throw the book at you.

Bobservations

Earlier this month I mentioned to Carlos that actress Olivia de Havilland had celebrated her 104th birthday, Carlos gave me that look so I said …
“Olivia de Havilland? Gone with the WindThe Heiress? She took over Joan Crawford’s role in Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte when Crawford faked an illness? Olivia de Havilland?”
“What about her?”
Oh Carlos … but cut to the end of the month when Carlos, in the living room watching CNN, comes back to tell me that Olivia de Havilland  has died.
“Yeah. I just read that.”
“She was 104.”
“I know. I told you that a few weeks ago and you had no idea who she was.”
“I knew her. She was in … in … Gone with the Wind!”
What role did she play?”
“She was the star.”
No, that was Vivien Leigh. Who did Olivia de Havilland  play?”
“She was … she was … one of the girls.”
That’s my Carlos, and just one of the many reasons I’m keeping him.
Like his two Daddies, Tuxedo is completely over the Covid-19 Hoax bull shiz ….

An as-yet-unnamed Minnesota man and woman followed the rules and wore masks while shopping at a Walmart. But their masks featured a Nazi flag and, needless to say, shoppers were not amused. One person yells:
"You can't be American and wear that mask. We literally had a war about this."
The masked woman replies:
"If you vote for Biden you're gonna be in Nazi Germany. That's what it's going to be like."
No, what it’s going to be like is Nazi Ken and Karen have been banned from Walmart … every  Walmart … for a year.

Oh lord, where are they gonna get their Curs Lite and Pork rinds now?

Free Speech is free, but Hate Speech has consequences.
Oy, the week … DVR s and internet go down; the air conditioning went out; Friday we took Ozzo to the vet for a checkup and to get more heartworm meds for him, and they found two bad teeth that need to come out … to the tune of $1,000.00. I’m trying to find a way to whore out a neutered Black Lab-Dachshund mix …and then Saturday our refrigerator quit working; the freezer was all good, but the refrigerator was all, “I’m’a get hot now.’ And then Monday, after the AC guys came to replace a part and get us set again, the AC stopped working on Tuesday.

It’s been a Murphy’s Law kinda week for us, but here it is Thursday, and everything seems to be working out … except for whoring out Ozzo.

::::sigh:::
This weekend, when asked if he planned a visit to the Capitol building to pay his respects to late Congressman and Civil Rights hero, John Lewis, the Occupant of the White House said:
“No, I won’t be going. No.”
Instead he went to North Carolina.

What did you expect? He’s a racist.
In Sorry Not Sorry news … GOP governors like Greg Abbott in Texas, Doug Ducey in Arizona, Brian Kemp in Georgia, and Ron DeSantis in  Florida all saw their approval numbers drop in the wake of the _____-like bumbling of the pandemic.

When you follow stupid …
In Petty Betty News … an hour before Dr. Anthony Fauci threw the first pitch at the season opener between the New York Yankees and the Washington Nationals, the Occupant of the White House appeared in the Briefing Room to announce that he, too, had been invited to throw out his own opening pitch.

Except … no one at the White House and no one at the Yankees confirmed it. It was just the effing President acting like a spoiled baby and lying, blatantly, about the honor.

And, of course, he later tweeted that he couldn’t throw the first pitch because he was too busy working on the China virus.

He tweeted that while playing golf.
And finally, some good news … swimsuit and underwear model Alexandros Kaltsidis. I could purr that name all day.

And he’s Greek, like Kalamata Olives and Feta Cheese; I imagine he’s a delicious snack too.

Just sayin’.

Random Musings

Carlos and I love Jeopardy. He says I should be on the show, not that I’m so smart, but that I have a way of figuring out the question to the answer because, many times, they give you a clue to the question in the answer. But I digress … we were watching one day last week and the answer was something along the lines of:

Ants use these to both see and feel.
I mumbled, What are antennae?
Carlos said aloud, What are antlers?

Now, I know he meant antennae, but I literally fell outta my chair laughing at the idea of ants with antlers. And I was still laughing days later when I relayed the story to my Dad, who then asked to speak to his son-in-law about it.

And then my Dad relayed a story about my Mom that I never knew. He said that many moons ago, while driving through Texas, my mother spotted something in the road and said, Ooh, an armadillo!

My father took a look at it and said, That’s actually a piece of a tire.

And from then on whenever they spotted a piece of a tire in the road, my Dad would call it an armadillo.

I guess that’s where I get it from.
Texas Republican Representative Louie Gohmert is mulling a presidential run for 2016.
Just when you thought the biggest idiot running for the GOP was Ted Cruz, the clown car stops and someone opens the hatchback and Louie Gohmert pops out!
Barronelle? As I said on Facebook, I’m’a have to ask you to sit down, for a long while.
As you may recall Barronelle Stutzman is that Washington state florist who refused to provide flowers for a same-sex wedding and was subsequently charged with discrimination by the state.
Well, she was fined the massive sum of $1,000 last week, plus $1 for court costs and fees, and she has 60 days to pay the state for her refusal to serve Robert Ingersoll and Curt Freed when they sought to buy wedding flowers in 2013.
But now she says she’s going broke because of all this, when she’s probably just losing business because she’s a bigot and most folks don’t wanna do business with her.
Lesson learned: Discrimination doesn’t pay the bills on a florist shop.
This week NBC announced that their next big televised musical event will be The Wiz.
I say, Good luck, and don’t f**k it up
Seriously, don’t carrie-underwood The Wiz.
We’ve had our issues with Target in the past, most notably when they funded some anti-gay political candidates in Minnesota, but Target, now that they know better, is trying to do better, and have stepped up in light of these “Religious Freedom Restoration Acts {RFRAs] popping up around the nation with a new message:

“In recent days, we’ve heard from you, our guests. You’ve asked us for Target’s thoughts about what it means to have an inclusive culture. You’ve asked us if, given the current conversations taking place across our country, we were taking a stand. And while most of those have been one-on-one conversations as you have called or emailed us, we wanted to take time to share our thoughts more broadly. They are simple. Everyone deserves to feel like they belong. And you’ll always be accepted, respected and welcomed here.”

Good on Target for evolving.
So, Faye Dunaway was Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest; every self-respecting gay oughta know that. But Faye hated the way the movie turned out, and loathed that it has become a camp classic despite a really great performance as Crawford. And in the years since then Dunaway almost always refuses to talk about the film, which many believe ruined her career. I mean, she went from Bonnie and Clyde to Chinatown to Network — for which she won an Oscar — to Mommie Dearest and then almost to oblivion.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that Dunaway is finally ready to address the career-changing film in a book.

Publisher’s Lunch, a publishing industry newsletter, mentioned an upcoming memoir in a recent email:

“Academy Award winning actress Faye Dunaway’s recollections, stories and behind the scenes account of the making of one of Hollywood’s most iconic films, Mommie Dearest, to Julia Cheiffetz at Dey Street Books, by Alan Nevins at Renaissance (World).”

To paraphrase Dunaway as Crawford: Christina!!! Bring.Me.My.Kindle!

So  a couple of weeks back I tuned in to a new comedy starring Nick Zano as a man who donates sperm to his Lesbian BFF so they can raise a child together and then, as the Lesbian reveals she’s knocked up, he reveals he’s just gotten married.

So, it’s straight guy and his wife, with his gay bestie raising a child. The show is called one Big Happy, but after watching for roughly five minutes, I dubbed it One Big Not Funny. And, while I won’t watch again, I was intrigued by Nick Zano, who has a younger Brad Pitt thing goin’ on.

He’s hot, but not hot enough to make me sit through thirty minutes of crap every week … though I think the show has already been cancelled.
