I Didn't Say It

RuPaul, finally speaking out, offhandedly, about the assault from the right on drag queens:

“Hey, look over there! A classic distraction technique, distracting us away from the real issues that they were voted into office to focus on: jobs, healthcare, keeping our children safe from harm at their own school. But we know that bullies are incompetent at solving real issues. They look for easy targets so they can give the impression of being effective. They think our love, our light, our laughter and our joy are signs of weakness. But they’re wrong because that is our strength. Drag queens are the Marines of the queer movement. Don’t get it twisted and don’t be distracted. Register to vote so we can get these stunt queens out of office and put some smart people with real solutions into government. And by the way, a social media post has never been as powerful as a registered vote.”

And along with a vote, Ru, we need people in positions of power, people with a fan base of sorts, to speak up and out and loudly.

D.L. Hughley, responding to the haters who don’t like Chris Rock talking Will and Jada in his new comedy special:

“If you love comedy, if you are a student of the art, if you are one of the few remaining people that allow for creative expression, then you walked away from this with the same sentiment. Side note … That happened to HIM, to CHRIS … and the ENTIRE WORLD got to weigh in and talk trash and make jokes and ‘shoulda, woulda, coulda’ the whole damn thing to death. OTHER COMEDIANS have bits about it, it was an opener for most of us. The ONE PERSON YOU NEVER HEARD FROM ABOUT IT WAS CHRIS!! So NOW, that HE decides to address it on HIS TIME, people have the audacity to say: ‘he’s bitter … Why is he still talking about that … let it go … or the best one WE’VE MOVED ON.’ So YOU got to speak on it but he can’t??? Y’all are a straight f*ckin trip.”

I rarely agree with Hughley but this time he was spot on; we heard from the entire world and from Will and Jada and their demon spawn, while the only one not talking was Rock. Now he has, and, for me, it was brilliant.

Tucker Carlson, the man who was caught on tape saying he doesn’t like Thing 45, trying to rewrite Insurrectionist History this week, proving yet again what most of us know: Fox Lies:

“Taken as a whole, the video record does not support the claim that January 6 was an insurrection. In fact, it demolishes that claim. And that’s exactly why the Democratic Party and its allies in the media prevented you from seeing it. By controlling the images you are allowed to view from January 6, they controlled how the public understood that day. They could lie about what happened and you would never know the difference. Those lies had a purpose. They created a pretext for a federal crackdown on opponents of the uniparty in Washington. The crowd was enormous. A small percentage of them were hooligans. They committed vandalism. You’ve seen their pictures again and again. But the overwhelming majority weren’t. They were peaceful. They were orderly and meek. These were not insurrectionists. They were sightseers.”

Sightseers don’t break into buildings, vandalize it, kill people, shit on the walls and ransack offices, Fucker. But let’s try this: let’s have “sightseers” head to Carlson’s house and break in and wipe their feces on his walls and steal his stuff and see how that little lying bitch complains and moans.

In addition, Fucker Carlson and his ilk at Fox “News” should be held responsible for 1/6/2022 because they knowingly lied about the election and spurred those ignorant MAGAt’s on.

Matt Walsh, Daily Wire host, saying that having a trans child is “a fate worse than death”:

“I hear from parents all the time, just these horror stories of, you know, I raised my kid, I did everything right. I even homeschooled. I did, whatever. And then one day my daughter at 16 comes home and declares that she’s a boy. And from that moment, it’s just she is devoured by this cult almost overnight and becomes unrecognizable. She wants nothing to do with us anymore. I’ve heard the story so many times and it’s terrifying. It’s horrific. You know, it’s—I think as a parent, it’s like a fate worse than death in a lot of ways. You’re losing your child. It’s like a death of a child while they’re still alive and—so that’s what makes it, I suppose, personal for me.”

He hears from parents ALL the time and yet doesn’t produce one parent to corroborate his story? It would be a fate worse than death to have Matt Walsh, ignorant, lying, transphobic bigot as your parent.

photo

Michael Knowles, another host on The Daily Wire, speaking at CPAC about what to do with transgender people:

“The problem with transgenderism is not that it’s inappropriate for children under the age of 9. The problem with transgenderism is that it isn’t true. If [transgenderism] is false, then for the good of society… transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely.”

How very Hitler of him. But keep in mind, he’s preaching to the GOP choir, which means we all need to vote, and get the hate out of Congress.

photo

Steven Spielberg, on the of Anti-Semitism in the world today:

“I find it very, very surprising. Anti-Semitism has always been there, it’s either been just around the corner and slightly out of sight but always lurking, or it has been much more overt like in Germany in the ’30s. But not since Germany in the ‘30s have I witnessed Anti-Semitism no longer lurking, but standing proud with hands on hips like Hitler and Mussolini, kind of daring us to defy it. I’ve never experienced this in my entire life, especially in this country. Somehow, the marginalizing of people that aren’t part of some kind of a majority race is something that has been creeping up on us for years and years and years. Hate became a kind of membership to a club that has gotten more members than I ever thought was possible in America. And hate and antisemitism go hand in hand, you can’t separate one from the other. I think [Anne Frank was] right when she said that most people are good. And I think essentially at our core, there is goodness and there is empathy.”

Still, another quote springs to mind, attributed to many people, including Simon Wiesenthal:

“All it takes for evil to flourish, is for good men to do nothing.”

Stand up against the hate … the anti-Semites, the anti-drag queens, the anti-LGBTQ+, the anti-books, the anti-history, the anti-women …

I Didn't Say It ...

Marjorie Taylor Traitor Greene, elected QAnon nutbag and liar, on how great she is for America:

“I was one of those Americans that was supposed to never get elected to Congress; the elites don’t want me here. I’ve never done drugs. I’ve never been arrested. The only thing bad I’ve done is probably gotten a speeding ticket. But you know what, just like every single other person, yeah, I have said things I shouldn’t say at some time or another, but I don’t think I have anything to apologize for. For refusing to believe Trump-Russian collusion conspiracy theories, and looking things up on the internet and asking questions about it on Facebook, big deal. Just because I posted things on Facebook back in 2018 doesn’t mean that I should be removed from my committees here in Congress.”

Yes it does, asshat. You stalked a high school boy in the days after a school shooting. You said Parkland and Sandy Hook were faked. You said 9/11 was an inside job. You said no plane ever hit the Pentagon. You said Nancy Pelosi should be executed. You said Jews have space lasers to start fires.,

Maybe you should have done drugs you delusional gasbag.

photo

Stanley Tucci, actor who plays a gay character in an upcoming film, on the debate over whether straight actors should play gay roles:

“I have difficulty with that. I think that acting is all about not being yourself. If we were to use that as a template, then we would only ever play ourselves. I think that what we need to do, we need to give more gay actors opportunities. People who are gay have only recently, in the last few years recently, have been able to say ‘I’m gay and I’m an actor and I can play straight roles.’ They’ve always had to hide their sexuality so they could play the leading man or the leading woman. Having played a number of gay characters, you want to do it so that it’s, as you do with any character, you just want to be truthful to it.”

I like the idea of gay actors playing gay roles, but then do we tell gay actors they can’t play straight?

Sidenote: I have a huuuuge crush on Stanley Tucci.

photo

Adam Kinzinger, Republican Congressman from Illinois, shared his disgust with this week’s House GQP meeting concerning Liz Cheney and MTraitorG, and the standing ovation given Greene:

“It was disappointing by a factor of 1,000. The only thing that could change is if today she comes out and publicly shows that she has moved on, contriteness. That takes eating a lot of humble pie and it’s probably going to hurt her fundraising base, so I’m not sure that’s going to happen because I think a lot of this kind of boisterousness on her part is to get a bunch of Twitter followers and to raise a bunch of money. If she does that publicly today, you know, then I reserve the right to vote against the resolution on the floor. Otherwise, I do intend to vote to remove her from her from her committees, and I think it should have been done by the Republicans.”

Good on Kinzinger, though I’d vote her off no matter if she apologizes publicly or not, because she’d only be doing that to save herself.

And she needs to be relegated to the dustbin of Congress.

RuPaul, on trans inclusion on Drag Race:

“It’s to keep an open mind. I walked into this thing with an idea of what drag is and the kids have a different idea. They keep changing it. This season we have a trans man who is on our show who is competing with the other drag queens and this man is fantastic. Fantastic! So, you know, I keep moving with what the kids are doing.”

Okay, I’m going out on a limb here. I understand a trans man doing female drag because he’s a man. But there have been people transitioning to female on drag race—Gia Gunn, I think, comes to mind—but is it drag for a woman to do drag as a woman? Am I being a dolt? It just seems odd, like I wouldn’t understand a woman assigned the female gender at birth doing drag as a female.

MM? Give me your perspective.

photo

Ted Cruz, GQP Senator who objected to certifying the 2021 election doing a major flip-flop in trying to salvage his career:

“President _____’s rhetoric I think went way too far over the line. I think it was both reckless and irresponsible, because he said repeatedly, he said over and over, he won by a landslide, there was massive fraud, it was all stolen everywhere. That evidence — the campaign did not prove that in any court, and to make a determination about an election it has to be based on the evidence. And so simply saying the result you want — that’s not responsible.”

Funny, Lyin’ Ted, you weren’t saying this a month ago.

Pandering GQP nutbag.

Jonathan Bailey, who stars in Netflix’s Bridgerton, on being gay in the entertainment industry:

“The most conservative conversations I’ve had about me being honest about my sexuality in this day and age have come from gay men in the industry, ‘Oh, no, you can’t come out. You shouldn’t really do that If you do that, you’re going to have to…’ They’re either people who work in publicity, or there’s also been casting directors who have put the call into my agent to say, ‘Just so that you know, the way that this is going to be sold is that it’s a gay story written by gay writers for gay actors. So, by just taking the role…' This was at a stage where perhaps I was coming to terms with my own sexuality, I hadn’t necessarily hidden it, but I’ve never been not honest about it. It’s just there had never been a need to talk about it. There’s a sense of shame, I think, that’s palpable throughout gay men within the industry. But then there’s also this heteronormative, heterosexual understanding of sexuality. So, in my generation, the out gay actors are now being poached, and you get a script sent through and they’ll say, ‘Must be comfortable with talking about sexuality.’ So that is in one way a brilliant thing, because it’s saying we’re not encouraging anyone not to talk about sexuality, but it’s also showing that sexuality is becoming a commodity. That actually there needs to be this sense that studios are hiring gay actors to play either gay actors or straight.”

It’s 2021 and still we have people being told to hide themselves and stay in the closet.

Get over it. Gay people exist. We work in every field, even TV and movies; you can’t not see us, so stop trying to make us disappear.

Sidenote: is he totally adorable or what?

Side-sidenote: I have recently had an opening for a new Husband-In-My-Head and this British bite might just be the perfect thing.

I Didn't Say It ...

Trevor NoahDaily Show host, on the latest developments in the Jussie Smollett case:

“Yes, Jussie Smollett is back in the headlines, this time for being indicted for reporting a fake hate crime. And it really sounds bad, until you remember that his plan all along was to get a recurring [Empire] storyline that doesn’t go away. This is what he wanted! And look, I know what Jussie did was wrong, but at the same time I kind of feel bad for him, because he gets into trouble now for calling in fake crimes, but those Permit Patties who made those bullshit calls to 911, they live their lives. They just do their thing. Maybe that should be Jussie’s punishment: he should be forced to get a white-lady nickname. Everywhere he goes, people will be like, ‘Well, well, well, there goes Subway Smollett!’”

I kinda like Jerk The Police Around Jussie, myself.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders, former White House Liar, taking the side of the foul mouthed racist she lied for:

“Bloomberg, if he continues to rise, is going to have serious problems with women and African-Americans. His language is offensive and atrocious. Then again, maybe he can buy the DNC just like Hillary did and steal it from Bernie in 2016.Either way, I think this is a great night for President _____.”

Sarah?Honey? Bless your heart.
And fuck off you goosestepping lapdog.–
RuPaul, on how he created his drag persona, and how he got his name:

“I had to calculate the image. What I did was add one part Dolly Parton to two parts Cher, one part David Bowie and a big heaping spoonful of Diana Ross. And this is scientific. I took the subversive sexuality out of my persona so that Betty and Joe Beercan could invite me into their living room, and you know what? It worked! [And] RuPaul is my real name and I tell all the kids. If you’re getting into show biz do not use your real name, because it winds up on all of your public records. [But] my mother named me that. My mother, both my mother and father are from Louisiana. And the roux in a gumbo. It’s spelled differently, but the roux is the base of a gumbo. So she wanted to put her culture in there, so it’s (Roux)-Paul.”

I got the Dolly, and the Cher, and, of course, the Diana, but I didn’t think about the Bowie!
And I’d love to see his, or her, name as RouxPaul!
Billy Porter, actor, on the anti-LGBT attacks over his upcoming appearance on Sesame Street:

“If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. Like, what about me singing with a penguin has anything to do with what I’m doing in my bedroom? The really interesting thing for me is that that’s what it’s all about when it comes to LGBTQ people the first thing everyone wants to talk about is how we’re having sex. Stay out of my bedroom and you will be fine—that is none of your business.”

Look, I don’t wanna know what you do in the bedroom, so why are you so interested in what I do.
Twenty years ago, when Carlos and I were cross=country dating, he came to California and we went to visit my parents for the weekend. I had assumed we’d be in separate rooms and we were good with that because it was my parent’s home. But my Mom put us in the same room.
A few weeks later she told me that my father was uncomfortable with us sharing a room because he didn’t want to know what we were doing up there. My mother asked if he ever wondered about what my sister and her husband did when they stayed in the same room and he said, ‘No.’
And she said, ‘This is no different.’
And it isn’t.
Phillip Schofield, co-host of Britain’s This Morning, came out as gay on air last week:

"I was getting to the point where I didn't like myself very much because I wasn't being honest... but actually I am very proud of myself today. You never know what’s going on in someone’s seemingly perfect life, what issues they are struggling with, or the state of their wellbeing—and so you won’t know what has been consuming me for the last few years. With the strength and support of my wife and my daughters, I have been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay. This is something that has caused many heartbreaking conversations at home. I have been married to Steph for nearly 27 years, and we have two beautiful grown-up daughters … My family have held me so close—they have tried to cheer me up, to smother me with kindness and love, despite their own confusion. Yet still I can’t sleep and there have been some very dark moments. My inner conflict contrasts with an outside world that has changed so very much for the better. Today, quite rightly, being gay is a reason to celebrate and be proud. Yes, I am feeling pain and confusion, but that comes only from the hurt that I am causing to my family … Both mine and Steph’s entire families have stunned me with their love, instant acceptance and support. Of course they are worried about Steph, but I know they will scoop us both up … Every day on This Morning, I sit in awe of those we meet who have been brave and open in confronting their truth—so now it’s my turn to share mine. This will probably all come as something of a surprise and I understand, but only by facing this, by being honest, can I hope to find peace in my mind and a way forward.”

It’s not an easy choice to make, coming out and living openly as a gay man or woman. But imagine doing after being married to a member of the opposite sex for years and years because you thought that was how it had to be.
And then you realize exactly how unhappy you are that you aren’t living your truth, and so you come out.
Joy.
Welcome Out, Phillip, and please accept as our gift from HOMO HQ, the Coming Out Toatser Oven™ and a copy of The Gay Agenda.
Welcome out!
Jeanine Pirro, enraged on the Chardonnay during her show last week about impeachment and Mitt Romney:

“You want to use that nothing burger to convict the President of the United States?! Are you stupid, too? And you say this is the most difficult decision you ever made? Mitt, you’re full of it! And since you are such a scholar did you ever consider the president’s constitutional rights that were stripped from him in the star chamber where he was denied the presumption of innocence? The truth is you simply despise Donald _____. Your jealousy of this man is a constant rage burning within you because you can never rise to the heights that he has. Because guys like you fold like wusses. Mitt, losers choke! You choked when a CNN reporter pushed back on you and you folded like every other loser! At your request Donald _____ supported you in 2012 and 2018 and like a snake in the grass, you turned on him. I have an idea, you need to be removed from office!  How about you get the hell out of the United States Senate! The people in Utah are furious with you!” And your dream of endearing yourself to the _____-hating left is a joke.”

Note to Jeanine: avoid Happy Hour at Red Lobster before going on air because you sound like the lady who hangs around the dumpster at the Piggly Wiggly drinking malt liquor out of an empty cat food can and screaming at passersby.

Bobservations

This morning, as he was cleaning up after breakfast a little snippet of Latino music came across the television set and Carlos began shaking his groove thang across the kitchen. I calmly walked to the phone, picked it up, and said:
“911? I think my husband is having a seizure. A Latin seizure.”
Perhaps he’s getting his dance on because we have a looong weekend getaway planned for Asheville and the Biltmore and the Grove Park Inn.

There are some planned posts, but we’ll be gone Thursday to Monday.

Play nice y’all.

Last week One Million Moms, a Southern Poverty Law Center-rated hate group, encouraged its less than a million followers to express their outrage at the Hallmark Channel because it aired a series of ads produced by wedding website Zola.com featuring a lesbian couple.

::::gasp::::

And Hallmark caved, saying the channel does not air content “that are deemed controversial.” So … hate wins?

Yeah, not so fast, because the LGBTQ+ community is no longer playing. See, same-sex marriage is not controversial, it’s legal, it’s the law, and a few days after announcing it would pull the commercial, and amidst a threatened boycott by our community and our allies, Hallmark reversed course and announced  it would be reinstating the ads and working with GLAAD to better represent the LGBTQ+ community.

One Million Moms has not commented on the move to reinstate the ads, cuz, you know, there aren’t a “million” moms they are about 100,000 and they are already looking into a new hate target.

Love wins again: all love.

I used to think Ivanka was the “good” _____ if there was such a thing.

Now, not so much. This week Complicit appeared at the Doha Forum, and instead of being interviewed by a journalist like every other member of the panel, Ivanka faked her interview using a public relation person from the State Department.

I guess Daddy’s Daughter Wife is just like Daddy.

So Jeff Van Drew, a moderate Democrat who barely won election to his first term, has switched to the GOP over the idea of impeaching the Criminal In Chief. Yeah, that’ll get you reelected, asshat. Even better to help you stay in office, many of your staffers have quit because you’re a pansy little flip-flopper.

Oh Jeff, you go on with your bad self. You pander to the criminal and the grifters and the goosesteppers and see how far it gets you.

Last March, RuPaul became the first drag queen to be honored with a star of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame and then made herstory again as the first ever drag queen to cover Vanity Fair. And now, the drag superstar, singer, author and actor has made history again after being inducted into California’s Hall of Fame.

RuPaul Charles was inducted into California Museum’s California Hall of Fame by Governor Gavin Newsom:
“There is perhaps no one person that has done more to dismantle the limiting ‘man box' we put our boys and men into that RuPaul. RuPaul [and RuPaul’s Drag Race] has simply made American media and our larger culture a more inclusive place, and he has done it with incomparable fabulousness.”
True dat. Congratulations Mama Ru.

This week construction began on a Navy ship that will named for LGBTQ+ civil rights activist and icon Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be elected to political office in California. Milk served in the Navy during the Korean war and came from a family with a history of serving in the Navy.

The Navy announced in 2016 that Milk’s name would appear on a ship, along with other civil rights leaders, including abolitionist Sojourner Truth and suffragist Lucy Stone.

Good news, and Harvey deserves the honor.

Barry Cole Poyner, an Elder at anti-LGBTQ+ Kirksville Church of Christ in Missouri and professor at Truman State University, was arrested last week on charges of soliciting sexual favors from male college students on Grindr.

Poyner, who goes by the screenname ‘DILF’, was nabbed in a police sting while meeting a “student” at a gas station. ‘DILF’ had told the undercover officer that he wanted to have a “sugar daddy relationship” and asked for sexual favors in exchange for filling up the officer’s, um, gas tank and giving him an Arby’s gift card.

Free gas and Arby’s in exchange for sex? Seriously? When the officer identified himself, Barry tried running but then pulled over and said he was just “trying to help” kids out … of their pants.

Poyner has been placed on suspension from both the church and the university. No word about his Grindr account, though.

Garrett Neff is an All-American Beauty model known for his early work with Calvin Klein as the face of jeans, underwear and the MAN fragrance.

Now 35, he launched his own swimwear line, KATAMA.

He’s a lot of things … classically handsome …he can rock a camelhair coat and briefs … and he’s good at hiding his junk.

He’s totes adorbs.
