The Height Of GOP Stupidity, Part Two: Larry "Wide-Stance-Foot-Tapping" Craig
I thought
the GOP couldn’t get any dumber after this morning’s tale of South Carolina
Senator, Lindsey Lohan, er, Graham’s, advice to layoff off government contractors
to force Congress to do their jobs, but the, well, along came this:
Y’all
remember former
GOP senator, Larry Craig? The guy who was arrested in an airport bathroom for sitting
on the john with his feet too far apart and tapping his foot, and then using
his fingers to beg an undercover cop for sex? That guy? Who :::foot stomped:::
and :::head snapped::: and told us he was not gay and yet he would resign, only
then he didn’t resign he just faded away like an old queen?
Well,
the Federal Election Commission [FEC] claims Larry The Foot Tapper used some
$217,000 in campaign funds to defend himself against the allegations that he is
a self-loathing, deeply closeted homosexual who was tricked into politicizing
sex in a men’s room, and now the FEC wants the money back. And Craig is trying
to stop the lawsuit by claiming that his infamous 2007 bathroom stall sex-sting
arrest was, ahem, simply part of his official Senate business. See, Craig would
like us to believe that his official business was to offer a report on the best
airport bathrooms in which to hook-up anonymously for a little man-on-man
action.
The
FEC sued Craig saying he converted the campaign money to personal use money and
then spent it on his legal defense after he was accused of soliciting sex in a
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport bathroom, but Craig says, with a
straight face—just about the only part of him that is truly straight—that the money
tied to his airport bathroom trip was neither for personal use or his campaign,
but rather it was part of his official, reimbursable duties as senator because
he was traveling between Idaho and the nation's capital for work.
Or
sex.
And
Larry cites a Senate rule in which reimbursable per diem expenses include all charges
for meals, lodging, hotel fans, cleaning, pressing of clothing, and bathroom
sex, I guess. His lawyer, Andrew Herman, says, “Not only was the trip itself
constitutionally required, but Senate rules sanction reimbursement for any cost
relating to a senator's use of a bathroom while on official travel.”
So,
then Craig can argue that if he uses a bathroom to engage in anonymous
homosexual sex, he should be able to claim it as a reimbursable expense. Sex.
Reimbursable. Wow.
But,
um, Larry, honey, darling? If you wish to have us believe that you can use your
per diem to pay for “bathroom expenses” and you were arrested for trying to
have sex with a man in a bathroom, then that whole I’m not gay dance you did was just a big fat lie and you’re just a
big old queer who got busted for trying to jerk off a cop.
The height of stupidity. And no
one believes you Larry. You’re
queer, dear.

Random Musings
Bachmann's congressional spokes-tool, Becky
Rogness, said Bachmann now enjoys dual citizenship with the US and Switzerland: "Congresswoman Bachmann's husband is of Swiss descent so she has been
eligible for dual-citizenship since they got married in 1978. However, recently some of their children wanted to exercise
their eligibility for dual-citizenship so they went through the process as a
family."
I never knew Marcus was a Swiss Miss.
In addition to this story, Bachmann gave Mittsy Romney
her endorsement, by saying something like, "Well, he's all we've got,
so........Marcus! Take off my dress!"
To say I was dumbfounded by the passage of Amendment One in North Carolina would be a massive understatement. I can't fathom anyone voting to discriminate against another person. But then i took a trip over to Viktor's spot, Maybe It's Just Me--and you ought to stop in on that blog regularly--and saw this little graphic which explains everything:
And Rick "Frothy Mix" Santorum has finally come out--no pun intended--and also endorsed Mittsy for
president.
And he did so by having a huge press conference and.....what? Oh, he released an email in the middle of the night where he doesn't so much as say Mittsy's the best man for the job, but reiterates how different he and Mittsy are, and how, "Well, he's all we've got, so.....Hey you! Lady! Stop with the birth control already."

Lots of news about the unpaid prostitute in Columbia who is at the
center of the Secret Service scandal.
She wants to stretch her fifteen minutes of fame to the pages of Hustler
and wants to sell her story.
Here's her story: she's a prostitute who got a call to go to a hotel
and let some guy bang her. She did. He didn't pay. She raised a fuss. It came
out that he's Secret Service. Now she says she could have taken all sorts of
confidential secret information from him.
Um, Hooker? May I call you Hooker? You couldn't even find his
wallet to take your $47.00. How you gonna crack the lock on the Secret Service briefcase
and take all the files marked "Top Secret."
You're a hooker. It might be legal in Colombia, but, c'mon, you
aren't exactly a paragon of virtue.
Say Buenos Noches already.
Tweet Of The Day:
But now, Cesare's murderous henchman--which is kind of an oxymoron--Micheletto, has returned to his village and we learn that he has a bit of a gay past.
With secret lover, Augustino, played by the hot, oh, so hot, Darwin Shaw.
With secret lover, Augustino, played by the hot, oh, so hot, Darwin Shaw.
I just hope this wasn't a one-note episode,
and that Augustino will be back.
GCB. I started watching because it stars Kristin Chenoweth and Annie Potts.
Those two are reason enough.
And I also loveslovesloves the gay husband, played by Mark Deklin, but the newest hunk, who's been there almost all along but suddenly appeared really dreamy this last week, is Tyler Jacob Moore, who plays Pastor John Tudor.

I don't usually go for the blonds, but his
smile is.....swoon.
I loved Whitechapel.
I find most British television programs to be more interesting,
and less predictable, than American shows.
Case in point: The new version of Sherlock Holmes--played by the interestingly named, Benedict Cumberbatch--that is being
shown on Masterpiece Theater on Sunday nights. It’s an updating of Holmes to
2011, and the stories are quick, interestingly told, interestingly filmed.
I wish our US networks would take note and try to be a little more
inventive.

Brown v Griffin
I suppose by now you've all heard the ruckus arising over Kathy Griffin calling Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown's daughters "prostitutes." And, um, yeah, if you haven't heard it, then you aren't getting your news from the E channel or Entertainment Tonight.
But, anyway, on a recent segment of Kathy's Emmy-nominated Bravo show, My Life On The D-list, she was being quizzed on her political knowledge by CNN’s Dana Bash and John King. When King held up a photo of Brown, Griffin identified him as “Scott Brown, who is a senator from Massachusetts and has two daughters that are prostitutes.”
In the matter of a nanosecond, Bravo's "legal" team had the following message roll across the screen: "Scott Brown's daughters ARE NOT prostitutes!!!"
I'm glad they told me, because otherwise................
So, everyone is up in arms that Kathy made an inappropriate joke and Brown's children. Well, two things: Number One: Making inappropriate jokes is what Kathy Griffin does. It gets her publicity and she likes that. And B: Scott Brown's "children" are grown women.
Now, before you go all, "But still, Bob, she shouldn't have said that about them." Let me say, I agree. I love a good funny raucous joke and this most assuredly wasn't it.
But, and there is always a but at ISBL, Kathy Griffin made that particular "joke" because when Scott Brown was elected to fill Ted Kennedy's Senate seat, at his acceptance rally, he introduced his family by saying: "As always, I rely on Gail's [his wife] love and support, and that of our two lovely daughters. So I want to thank Ayla and Arianna for their help as well....Just in case anyone who's watching throughout the country, yes they're both available."
So, um, was Scott Brown pimping his daughters out? No; that's something that a lot of fathers would say about their daughters in front of a group of rowdy strangers.
They're available.
And when Brown's wife and daughters looked at him, mortified over what he'd just said, Scott Brown added: "I can see I'm going to get in trouble when I get home."
So, see, there have been two jokes made about Scott Brown's daughters. One, a not-so-funny-go-for-the-easy-cheesy-laugh, by a professional comedian, and the other a not-so-funny-go-for-the-easy-cheesy-laugh, joke from a father.
Lay off Kathy Griffin.

ManWhore Markus, The ISBL Asshat Of The Week!
Y'all have no doubt heard that male prostitution is now legal at Nevada brothels, and, well, wouldn't you know, one of those fine lads, who, like Cher and Madonna, goes by a single name, Markus, has something to say about his, um, accomplishment.
Markus: "Basically this is the first time in the economy of the United States that a male has actually stood up and said, 'I want to do this for a living.' And be protected under law to do it. It's just the same as when Rosa Parks decided to sit at the front instead of the back. She was proclaiming her rights as a disadvantaged, African-American older woman. And I'm doing the same. I'm actually standing up now, and hopefully I can be supported by the male community and be understood as a person. This actually isn't about selling my body. This is about changing social norms."
Yes, the man-whore compared himself to civil Rights activist Rosa Parks.
I know.
Um, Markus, here's a little something: Rosa didn't want to stand up....all you want to do is get down....for pay.
Not.The.Same.Thing.
