Bobservations

Believe it or not, but some Republican lawmakers in Utah are so pleased with _____’s decision to shrink two Utah national monuments that they want to honor him with his own road, the “_____ Utah National Parks Highway.”

But not if state Senator Jim Dabakis, a Democrat, has his way. If the House passes the bill, then Dabakis wants to attach an amendment to the Senate bill that would rename the frontage road that runs along the would-be _____ Utah National Parks Highway; and that frontage road would be called the “Stormy Daniels Rampway.”

Bam!

Sidenote: Dabakis, the co-founder of Equality Utah, is the only openly gay member of the Utah legislature.

The Gays can do snark better than anyone.
Speaking of gays … can we stop calling them gay athletes or gay actors or gay … “whatevers”, and just say they are athletes or actors or whatever. No one calls Tom Brady a straight football player, so why was Michael Sam a gay football player?

I mean, if you wanna say Sam is a football player who is openly gay, or Adam Rippon is a skater who is openly gay, that’s good. But they aren’t gay “whatevers”; they’re people who happen to be gay.

I long for the day when the gay label will end and we’ll just be people who can say “This is my husband,” and can either be a man or a woman and it really makes no difference.
In _____’s continuing war on Transgender people, the Education Department has announced that it will not investigate or take action on any complaints filed by transgender students who are banned from restrooms that match their gender identity.

Hate; once again hate from the _____ team.
Poor Mike Huckabee. First he’s an ass, then his daughter becomes the Lying Laughingstock of the US; and now this …

Mike Huckleberry joined the board of the Country Music Association Foundation on one morning and then was forced off by board members in protest of his anti-gay views twenty-four hours later.

One board member, Jason Owen, who is gay and a father, and manages Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves and Faith Hill, said:
“Huckabee speaks of the sort of things that would suggest my family is morally beneath his, and uses language that has a profoundly negative impact upon young people all across this country. Not to mention how harmful and damaging his deep involvement with the NRA is.”
Huckabee, for his part, whined like a little bitch, as is his habit:
“It appears that I will make history as having the shortest tenure in the history of the CMA Foundation Board.  I genuinely regret that some in the industry were so outraged by my appointment that they bullied the CMA and the Foundation with economic threats and vowed to withhold support for the programs for students if I remained.  I had NO idea I was that influential!  …  The message here is ‘Hate Wins.’”
Actually, asshat, the message here is that Hate Loses.
Wisconsin Governor, and Republican because, of course,  Scott Walker has come up with a strategy to stop the long string of Republican losses in special elections: he has stopped calling special elections.

Walker has refused to call special elections for Assembly District 42 and Senate District 1 by c;aiming that the state House term was almost over and it could wait until the midterms. But is that true, or is Walker the GOP will lose these right-leaning seats like they did in January when Democrat Patty Schactner flipped the heavily rural, pro-Trump Senate District 10. Walker called that special election a wake-up call and is now refusing to have any more special elections.

But Democrats are fighting back; the National Democratic Redistricting Committee [NDRC]) is suing to force Walker to hold those special elections.

This is how the GOP works these days; if they think they’ll lose a special election, they simply cancel all elections.
In Sorry Not Sorry news … _____’s former NSA advisor, and traitor, Michael Flynn has been forced to sell his house to pay his legal bills after pleading guilty to lying to FBI agents about his Russian contacts.

Again, Sorry Not Sorry… but look on the bright side Mike, prison will be free for you.
In This Makes Me Smile So Hard My Face Hurts news … _____’s fortune” has dropped some $400 million since he took office.

Sure, you can blame real estate—markets in New York City continue to struggle—but _____’s lack of personality is also to blame.

The value of _____’s hotel licensing and management company dropped an estimated $50 million in the last year because the _____ brand is fading; markets in Toronto and New York, where investors have removed the president’s name from hotels in New York and Toronto, and this week workers in Panama pried the _____ name off a hotel there.

The Fat Bastard has dropped 244 slots on the Forbes list, making him the 766th-richest person in the world.
At the top sits Jeff Bezos with an estimated $112 billion, which makes _____’s hated Washington Post owner about 37 times richer than he is.

My face hurts still.
And from this, too … the turnout for a rally on Sunday at the Lincoln Memorial in support of _____ that was organized by the Gays for _____ was attended by about 100 people.

So, there are at least 100 gays that are dumb.
Last week at _____ golf courses around the world, the presidential Seal began appearing …and by Presidential “Seal,” I don’t mean the Fat Bastard in a water tank having fresh fish thrown at him to eat, but the actual Presidential Seal of the United States.

Trouble is, that’s kind of illegal …go figure … and now _____ is trying to say that the seal was erected by enthusiastic members in honor of Presidents Day weekend.

Tell me another story, Nana.
Lastly … The Mens …from the top … Andy Favreau, who plays blond beefcake on Champions, a show with a sassy gay boy on it. Jordan Buhat is the hot drug-dealing cutie from Grown-ish, and Morgan Spector, a CIA agent with dimples for days on Homeland.

Just sayin'.

I Didn't Say It ...

Henry Rollins, writing for LA Weekly about that marriage equality ruling:

"I am hoping that, in time, Obergefell v. Hodges will be seen in the same way as Loving v. Virginia — inevitable and a sign of social evolution in America. I bet two people of the same sex who want to get married don’t think they are going to have a 'gay wedding.' By wanting to get married in the first place, they show their dedication both to each other and to tradition. Wanting to get married is a freakin’ billboard for normality and inclusion. I wish the 'You lost! Deal with it!' talk would stop. I can understand where it comes from but it doesn’t make anything better. There were no losers, in my opinion. To those who disagree with same-sex marriage because it offends their faith, I would say your beliefs are still yours to have. The wisdom, peace and clarity that faith has allowed you to have are still intact. No word of any religious text has been changed or its power reduced. There is a lot of room in America; it allows all to move freely. All the wedding photographs popping up on the Internet should be enough to convince anyone that this was a great decision. Take Jack Evans and George Harris, for example — together for 54 years, in Texas of all places, finally able to get hitched. I am looking at them now. The skies have not darkened with locusts and tomorrow there will be traffic. I do believe we will be OK."

Leave it to Henry to just make it all so simple.
Jeb Bush, on how smart President Obama is, and how his intellect creates chaos in the world:

“You don’t have to be the world’s policeman, but we have to be the world’s leader — and there’s a huge difference. This guy, this president and Secretary Clinton and Secretary Kerry, when someone disagrees with their nuanced approach — where it’s all kind of so sophisticated it makes no sense, you know what I’m saying? Big-syllable words and lots of fancy conferences and meetings — but we’re not leading, that creates chaos, it creates a more dangerous world.”

Wait, so Jeb just admitted he doesn’t understand big words and lotsa syllables?
I’ll make it easy for him: You’ll lose.
Ken Shetter, mayor of Burleson Texas, posting his support of the SCOTUS marriage equality ruling, and talking about being a politician and a Christian:

“Congratulations to the LGBT community, especially to those I count as friends and who call Burleson home. One of the best things about today’s ruling is that it is one more signal to LGBT youth that they are fully accepted and valued participants in our society—no matter where they live. … I will not quote any verse of the Bible in justifying my mayoral views. I will simply say I will uphold the Constitution, as interpreted by the Supreme Court of the United States. I will also be true to my commitment to do everything within my power to make Burleson a great place to live, learn, work and play for all…And all includes gay citizens of Burleson. On a personal level, I celebrate the right of my gay friends to be married, as well as the fact they are accepted and embraced more fully in today’s society. I do so not in spite of my Christian beliefs, but at least partially because of my Christian beliefs.”

Wow. A Texas Christian politician who is able to see that LGBT rights, and marriage equality, aren’t a sign of the end times!
Who knew?
Scott Walker, on what he'll do about marriage equality when he's president ... stop laughing:

"Our conservative values were handed a big blow with the recent Supreme Court ruling. Let me be very clear: this decision was a grave mistake. Five unelected judges took it upon themselves to take that responsibility away from the states and redefine the institution of marriage. In 2006, I voted to amend my state constitution to protect the institution of marriage because I believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. I believe that the states have the right to define marriage. To protect this right, I support an amendment to the United States Constitution to reaffirm the ability of the states to continue to define marriage."

And, um, Scott? What are you going to tell all those same-sex couples who have gotten married since 2003, and who came out strong after the SCOTUS ruling last month, and got married?
Are our marriages going to be voided, because that won’t happen; and if you think you’ll be able to make any future same-sex marriages illegal, that also will never happen.
Like your becoming president will never happen.
Joe Biden, on the first time he saw two men kissing—it occurred when he was seventeen and riding in a car with his father:

“As we were stopped at the light, two men on the right — very well-dressed men, obviously, business people … turned and embraced one another and kissed each other.  And they went their separate ways. I’ll never forget.  I turned and looked at my dad, just looked at him.  And I’ll never forget what he said.  He said, Joey, they love each other.  It’s simple. They love each other.  It’s simple. That’s what this has been all about from the beginning.”

And I thought Joe was the fierce advocate for same-sex couples, but it appears he got it from his father.

Random Musings

So, anti-abortion activist Randall Terry is claiming that he has been receiving death threats from someone in a Texas town not far from the Geller shootings:

"Coincidence? God knows."

And so now, because it’s the new ‘It’ thing to do, Terry has started a GoFundMe to raise $200,000 to protect himself and his family from these Muslims.

Seriously? A money beg?

Sidenote: I was flipped off the other day by a hillbilly in a pickup, so I’ve started my own GoFundMe page to help raise some money for therapy to get over it; and by ‘therapy,’ I mean tequila so I only need about thirty bucks … Help me!
This is rich …

There’s an outbreak of Chlamydia at a high school in the Crane Independent School District in Texas that has forced administrators to send a warning notes home to parents. As of now, there are twenty reported cases of the STD, meaning that 1 in 15 students at the school is infected.

Talk about an STD Petri dish, but I digress …

What’s really rich about this story is that the high school offers a three-day sexual education course once a year that emphasizes abstinence but that Crane ISD "does not offer a curriculum in human sexuality.

So they don’t tell kids how to protect themselves should they have sex, they just tell them not to have sex, and then keep their STD doctors on speed dial when the Chlamydia Outbreak occurs.
Well, this week, after returning from Miami, we took Carlos’ car in to have that pesky engine light checked and it turned out that it was a bad gas cap that affected the sensors in the gas tank and flicked on the light. But then my car needed some servicing, too, after having 1500 miles put on her in a week, and so she went in for some new rotors and pads — whatever that means — and that was another added expense.

Then there was MaxGoldberg.

One night, while getting ready to go to sleep, Max came onto the bed and sat by my head. He kept twisted his head and licking the inside of his mouth — if you’ve ever seen Grimm and seen a hexenbiest change, you know how Max looked.

Well, I thought nothing about it; food caught in his teeth maybe, but the next morning, after his breakfast, he was still doing it, and then drooling a lot, and then drooling blood. Off the vet — funny side note: MaxGoldberg in the cat carrier, howling so loudly that he sounded like a police siren — and it was determined that one of Max’s fangs had bent and every time he closed his mouth it was gutting his tongue and gums; it was also determined that the other fang was loose and might do the same damage.

Now, MaxGoldberg is fang-less; healing nicely, but fang-less.

Other Sidenote: how lucky am I to have Carlos because the vet called with the diagnosis and the cost of tooth extraction and sedation and blahblahblah and quoted a price well over $700! Carlos shrieked, and said he wouldn’t pay that and in an instant the price suddenly dropped to a hair over $400.

I would have never thought to bargain; I would have forked over my credit card and then maybe thought about not eating for a month to pay that bill.

Four-hundred is still a lot of money, but Max is one of our babies and well worth it.
So, I love me some BBC America, and this week I tuned into Ripper Street, sort of a police procedural that takes place in Whitechapel, in London, around the time of Jack Attacks.

Now, the show isn’t about The Ripper, just about that area, but it does star a couple of hotties: Matthew Macfadyen as Detective Inspector Edmund Reid, and Adam Rothenberg as Captain Homer Jackson, a flamboyantly dressing American doctor.

So far one episode in, I’m liking the show and, as always, the Man Candy.
Another MaxGoldberg Sidenote:

I was still at work when Carlos picked Max up that night, but I called home to see how he was doing. No answer. I figured they weren’t home yet, so I waited and called another time …

Well, actually, I called nine times in forty-five minutes.

Carlos wondered if I would call the house that mush if it was him coming home from the hospital.

I wondered about that, too …
I’m just gonna say it: People are stupid.

I mean, how else do you explain that when the story broke that an aide to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was pleading guilty in Bridge Gate that all hell would break loose because of the headline:

“Christie Ally Expected To Plead Guilty”

Twitter exploded with the news that Kirstie Alley was going to jail.

Seriously; people are dumb.
Well, I kinda already knew this …

Irish men have just been voted the Sexiest Men In The World according to MissTravel.com, a US-based travel and dating website.

In second place, but trailing by over 1,000 votes were Australians, followed by Pakistani men, American men and English men.

I could ‘a told y’all that … case in point:

First we had Marco Rubio announcing his run at the White House with an ode to Game of Thrones and now Scott Walker is channeling a little Star Wars — dubbing himself Scottwalker — as he readies for his ill-fated campaign.

Seriously? Grown-assed men, running for the highest office in the land, channeling TV shows as their jump-off point?

Grow the eff up already.
Carlos and I are being sued. Oy! And, well, it seriously looks like we’re going to lose because the facts in the case are irrefutable: we’re homosexuals.

See, an Omaha woman, sixty-six-year-old Sylvia Driskell, who says she is an ambassador for God and the Baby Jeebus, is suing all homosexuals and is asking a federal judge to decide whether homosexuality is a sin.

Driskell contends “that homosexuality is a sin and that they [The Homosexuals] know it is a sin” because “why else would they have been hiding in the closet(?)”

Oh lordy, someone needs to lay hands on this woman and it looks like it is that federal judge, John Gerrad, because he has refused to allow Sylvia to be a legal spokestool for God and his son, Jesus Christ.

Whoosh! Time to put that cash back in the bank accounts!

Scott Walker: The Second Coming of Mittsy Romney

Okay, so even though we’re well over a year away from the 2016 Presidential Election — hell, we’re a year away from the primaries — lots of folks in the GOP have been trying to step forward and be ‘the man.’

And none more so than Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, who seemed … seemed … poised to be the GOP Darling in the race. I mean, when you compare him to Ted Cruz who never met a lunatic he didn’t call ‘Dad,’ or Rand Paul, who, well, seriously, does anyone other than Rand Paul seriously think he’s presidential material? And what about Jeb Bush? Do we really want another Bush in charge after the fumbles and foibles of his father and brother?

So, compare Walker to that trio of losers and it’s no wonder he’s the best man … for now. Except that Walker is also the biggest liar and flip-flopper to call himself a Republican since the party’s last Great White Hope, Mittsy Romney.

Let’s talk lies, first: like the story he’s told … more than once… about getting to hold the Reagan Bible after Nancy Reagan personally sought him out and gave it to him to hold:
“And they brought over a pair of white gloves to me and they said, ‘No one has touched this since President Reagan. It is his mother’s Bible that he took the oath of office on. Mrs. Reagan would like you to hold it and take a picture with it.”
Walker’s version makes it appear that he has Nancy’s blessing to be president, and that, by virtue of the fact that he held The Great Man’s Bible, that Scott Walker is the second coming of a Reagan-esque type president. But … it never happened; in fact, no one asked him to hold the Bible at all. Scott Walker’s office made the request and the folks at the Reagan Library were simply being nice.

Now, is that a Great Lie? Not really; but it’s a pattern. And if someone like Scott Walker could lie about that little story, what else might he lie about?

Let’s see … Scott Walker also lied about ordering his college records at Marquette University to be unsealed; didn’t happen. And his Politifact profile is, well, not so great in the truth telling department either; of 130 Scott Walker statements checked, 63 … that would be almost half … have been false, with another 18 called ‘half true.’

So, Scott Walker lies roughly half the time he speaks. Remember that when he asks for your vote and tells you what he wants to do for the country, because there’s a 50-50 chance he’s not being honest; but, let’s stop with his lies, and focus on his Mittsy Flippsies …

Scott Walker was against a federal ethanol mandate … until he was for it. In 2014 he campaigned as being against the federal renewable fuel standard, but now that he wants to be president, he’s changed his mi — oh hell, he flip-flopped.

Walker also changed his stance on giving undocumented immigrants the chance to become U.S. citizens, after hearing other governors talk about the ALLEGED “collateral damage” of President Obama’s “unconstitutional executive action” opening a path to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants. See, Obama was for it, and Walker was for it, but now, looking to pander to the GOP conservative base, which means denying you like anything about Obama, Walker has flip-flopped.

And what making Wisconsin a right-to-work state? Although he supports right-to-work, over the last four years Scott Walker has downplayed the idea that Wisconsin become a right-to-work state, saying that private-sector unions were his partners in growing the state’s economy. Just this week, however, he signed right-to-work legislation into law.

And what about abortion? Just two years ago he appeared in a campaign ad where he said, directly to camera, that the decision to terminate a pregnancy should be made by “a woman and her doctor.”  Last week he asked lawmakers to send him a bill that would ban all abortions after 20 weeks.

Flip.Flop.

Marriage equality? Well, during his 2014 campaign he said his position didn’t really matter regarding Wisconsin’s same-sex marriage ban, but just last month, on Fox news, of course, Scott Walker said he opposes same-sex marriage.

Let me make this queer: most GOP presidential candidates campaign to the right to secure the votes of the base, and then, most of them, swing back somewhere in the middle because they know they’ll be a one-term president if they stay too arch-conservative.

But, why lie? Why change your mind when a two-second Google search can prove you’re a liar, and can prove that you’ve have opposing opinions on a variety of topics depending on to whom you’re speaking — Fox News — or what campaign you’re running. Do we want a president who blatantly lies about the little stuff? I mean, then he would surely lie about the big stuff right … like wars for oil. And do we want a president who says one thing, one time, and then flips his tune when he’s trying to secure a vote.

Scott Walker. Liar. Flip-flopper. Mittsy 2.0. We dodged that bullet a couple of times; let’s not go back there.
