It's Snarkurday!

Sarah Jessica Parker has been accused of a lot of things … she’s wound awfully tight … she can be a huge bitch … and she’s a snobby shoe saleswoman … but is she also … shades of Lohan … a jewel thief?

Maybe so; it seems SJP is being accused by jewelry brand Kat Florence Design of stealing accessories worth $149,501.96.  And you know they mean business because they nailed it down to the penny!

Kat Florence Design ALLEGES that Sarah borrowed some pieces from them in 2016 for after wearing the jewels in a photo shoot and never gave them back. They say SJP asked to “personally borrow several pieces of the jewelry to wear for a few months and then return all the pieces.” They agreed to two months and now it’s been two years that Parker has had the gems, so Kat Florence filed a lawsuit in April; the company’s attorney had this to say:
“It is our position in this case that after a photo shoot as part of the endorsement agreement, Ms. Parker requested that she could personally keep some of the pieces of the jewelry for a few months to wear personally. We agreed and documented what she had. This happened in March 2016. Over two years later, the jewelry was never returned to us. We believe that as Ms. Parker has kept the jewelry since 2016 that she should pay us for it.”
Well, SJP is shocked, shocked I say … or at least her attorney is because he said:
“This is just plain false. SJP was under contract to Kat Florence and was asked to keep the jewelry so that she could wear it on red carpets and other events when appropriate. Sarah Jessica Parker is as honest and trustworthy a person as anyone I have ever met. She has never and would never hold onto anything belonging to someone else. In fact, she has been asking ever since Kat Florence wrongfully stopped paying her to have the pieces returned, but Kat Florence didn’t seem terribly interested in getting them back.”
Um, ambulance chaser? They wouldn’t have asked for all their money back, to the penny, if they weren’t interested in getting it back; and what do you think they do, allow celebs to just take jewelry and wear it and never pay for it?

That’s some business model.
This year’s New York Fashion Week, save for the Cardi B—the ‘B’ is for Brawl—fight with Nicki Minaj, was pretty dull as fashion weeks go, but there was another bit of drama.

Marc Jacobs normally gets to be NYFW’s big “closer” but this year the honor went to Rihanna’s Fenty show and it looked like Marc Jacobs ALLEGEDLY turned it into a pity petty party.

Jacobs’ runway show was set to start at 6PM but for some reason was delayed for ninety minutes, leading many to assume the designer was simply out to ruin Rihanna’s show. See, Jacobs shows typically run like clockwork, but this year, with Rihanna snagging the grand finale did Jacobs delay his Manhattan show so people wouldn’t be able to get to Rihanna’s Brooklyn show by its 7:30 PM start time?

Booth Moore, from the Hollywood Reporter, tweeted about Jacobs’ delay, sharing an image of some of the designer’s empty front-row seats as many in attendance, annoyed by the late start, beat feet to Rihanna’s gig. Still, many celebs stayed to await the late Marc Jacobs, including Nicki Minaj, Emily Ratajkowski, Sofia Coppola and Anna Wintour, although Nuclear Wintour was seen pacing and making phone calls before finally taking her seat as the show started.

Jacobs took to Instagram, as they do these days, to explain his tardiness:
I sincerely apologize to anyone and everyone who was inconvenienced by my lateness at our Spring/Summer 2019 fashion show. For anyone interested, below is not a list of excuses but rather a list of facts. I fully understand people have plans, lives, commitments, flights, families to return to, etc and that I fully RESPECT …
1. The night before the show at midnight, I believed that we would absolutely be starting at 6pm, as planned and it was my intention to do so.
2. At 3:30pm on the day of the show, I became aware that we would most likely be an hour late. In good faith and hope it was communicated that the show would start at 630pm and that was a mistake.
3. After years of being beyond punctual and once again, with every intention of remaining so, the fact is, more is always expected from us with fewer and fewer resources. That is not unique to me personally or us as a company. I have learned that I need to adjust to our realities.
4. It was my wishful thinking that we could accomplish all that needed to be done for this show with the circumstances we faced. I was wrong. Not because everyone didn’t make every effort or give it their all and more, life is just that way sometimes. I’ve always been told that, “if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.” With our shows, I always strive to present 7-10 minutes of live fashion theatre that hopefully makes some kind of statement or touch the audience in some way both aesthetically and emotionally. I think we all have to be a little more sensitive and flexible to the fragile state of the live experience.
I hope anyone reading this will reflect on my thoughts as I have on yours. Sincerely and respectfully,
Marc”
Notice, though, that all his explanations never fully explained why he was late. My money is on the diva-ness of it all, given that he was always the closer and now that upstart Rihanna has taken his place.
I’ve talked Les Moonves before, and what a pig he is to women in general, Janet Jackson, in particular, and now how much of a misogynistic pig he was to Linda Bloodworth Thomason.

She’s the creator of Designing Women, and was, for a time, one of the most powerful women in television. She had a great contract with CBS and lotsa support from CBS executives … until Moonves was made president. Now Bloodworth Thomason has written a piece for The Hollywood Reporter about how Moonves ruined her career because she’s a woman and he hates women:
“This is not the article you might be expecting about Les Moonves. It’s not going to be wise or inspiring. It’s going to be petty and punishing. In spite of my proper Southern mother’s admonition to always be gracious, I am all out of grace when it comes to Mr. Moonves. In fact, like a lot of women in Hollywood, I am happy to dance on his professional grave. And not just any dance — this will be the Macarena, the rumba, the cha-cha and the Moonwalk. You get the idea.”
In 1992, Bloodworth Thomason was given the largest writing and producing contract in the history of CBS for some $50 million. Designing Women was a huge hit for CBS and her Evening Shade was the best new comedy that year. She says CBS chairman Howard Stringer and president Jeff Sagansky attended several Designing Women tapings and had given her carte blanche to tackle any subject, including sexual harassment, domestic violence and pornography.

But by 1995, Stringer and Sagansky were gone and a Les Moonves had taken over. Bloodworth Thomason was producing a new pilot titled Fully Clothed Non-Dancing Women and was concerned how Moonves—a fan of titty bars, or so she’d heard—might feel about the show.

Well, the answer is the show never aired, and Bloodworth Thomason was out at CBS and would not work again for seven years. She ALLEGES Moonves waged against her, turning down every one of her scripts and refusing to allow any CBS-contracted actor to work with her, noting that both Bette Midler and Huey Lewis requested to work with her and were turned down by Moonves. She also ALLEGES that Moonves would not hire any actress who didn’t want to “f–k” and how he once told a popular actress that she was too old to be on his network … and then forcibly kissed the woman.

And she points out that, under Moonves, all the shows featuring and starring brash, funny women were scrapped in favor of male-dominated series.
“I just feel angry. The truth is, Les Moonves may never be punished in the way that he deserves. He will almost certainly never go to jail. And he has already made hundreds of millions of dollars during his highly successful and truly immoral, bullying, misogynist reign.”
Still, again, it’s nice to see the pig fall. And, jail or not, career or not, his legacy will be that of a pig.
Kristin Davis is thirsty for work and clearly still nursing a grudge that Kim Cattrall nixed the idea of yet another sequel to Sex and the City because, to commemorate the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, Davis posted a throwback photo of herself with her SATC co-stars … except Cattrall was not in the photo.

Davis chose a photo of herself, Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon at the 2004 ceremony; to be fair, Cattrall wasn’t cut out of the image, but while she was at the Emmys that year, and photographed with her co-stars, Davis skipped those pictures and went Cattrall-less.

Like I said, she’s thirsty for work …or another fifteen minutes.
Faye Dunaway still can’t shake the Joan Crawford-ness of it all, decades after Mommie Dearest.

Last year, Faye “broke up” with her hairstylist because of a nasty spat over the bill and now she’s taken her drama to a new salon.

A source says the staff at the luxe Warren Tricomi salon have had it with Dunaway getting snippy with them. They say on one day, she changed her appointment ten different times, and then finally announced that she was ready and demanded service. When managers told her that she cannot order the staff around, Dunaway Reese Witherspoon’ed them:
“Do you know who I am? I am Faye Dunaway!”
In addition, Faye brings her infamous food scale to appointments and measures out salad and other food, letting the excess drop where it will, and then demanding the staff clean up after her.

And while you may think this isn’t true, the salon’s owner, Edward Tricomi, told the newspapers:
“Faye is fine. I’ve known her 40 years or better. Look, everybody has their moments in time, but Faye is fine. She is not a problem.”
Not exactly a denial, though. And, when reporters called Dunaway for her take on the story, she hung up on them.

She’s Faye Dunaway! Dammit!!
Woody Allen’s a pig, we all know that, but let’s offer up one more example.

It’s about who fathered Rona Farrow with Mia; if you ask Woody, he’ll say he’s the daddy. Mia says there is a “possibility” that she made Ronan with her ex-husband Frank Sinatra but both Sinatra’s widow and his daughter Tina said there was no way Ronan is a Sinatra. And if you ask Ronan, he jokes:
“Listen, we're all ‘possibly’ Frank Sinatra's son.”
Now, for why Woody is a pig, other than that whole sleeping with his adopted daughter mess … he says he considers Ronan to be his kid, but he wouldn’t be surprised if a DNA proved otherwise, but that news would piss him off because … wait for it … oink … oink … he’s spent so much money on Ronan:
“In my opinion, he’s my child. I think he is, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it. I paid for child support for him for his whole childhood, and I don’t think that’s very fair if he’s not mine.”
It sounds like the only one of Mia’s kids he has no regrets paying for is Soon-Yi.

Just sayin’.

It's Snarkurday!

Anyone who watches The Real Housewives of New York knows that former besties Jill Zarin and Bethenny Frankel had a huge falling out in 2010 and stopped speaking. But this week, when Jill’s husband, Bobby Zarin, passed away, it looked like the fences would be mended.

On camera, at least.

Frankel was in Aspen when she learned of Bobby’s death and chartered a private jet to whisk her back to New York for the funeral, and she arrived just before the start of the ceremony. But Bethenny wasn’t alone; no, she had an entire camera crew from RHoNY following her … at … a … funeral. And even more pathetic, is that Jill Zarin knew they’d be filming at Bobby’s funeral and she was fine with it.

And, naturally, Bethenny Tweeted a photo of she and Jill holding hands:
“Today is a sad day with a silver lining. I laughed. I cried. I saw old faces & watched a family come together surrounding a loss. ‘I have a dream’ that Bobby’s death makes us realize what is important & treat each day as our last.”
Wow, she co-opted Martin Luther King.

Reality stars, like Frankel, and former reality stars like Jill, have zero shame.
Oops; fashion photographers Bruce Weber and Mario Testino stand accused to sexual harassment of male models.

Last month, a male model named Jason Boyce sued Bruce Weber for ALLEGEDLY sexual harassing him during a photo shoot in 2014.  Since then, fifteen more models have come forward claiming Weber of asking them to join him in private clothing-free “breathing exercises” in which he would ALLEGEDLY guide their hands over his body and vice-versa.

Now, Mario Testino also stands accused of inappropriate behavior by thirteen male assistants and models going back as far as the mid-90s; accusations included subjecting them to unwanted sexual advances, groping, and masturbation. Two former Gucci models claim it was well-known that if you wanted to advance your career, you met with Mario for a nude shoot at the Chateau Marmont.

Weber released a statement:
“I’m completely shocked and saddened by the outrageous claims being made against me, which I absolutely deny.”
Testino’s lawyers also questioned the credibility of the models. You know, blame the victim.

Luckily, many in the fashion industry believe the models and have kicked Weber and Testino to the curb. In fact, brands Michael Kors and Stuart Weitzman both said they will not to work on future campaigns with Mario Testino, while Ralph Lauren, who frequently works with Bruce Weber, announced that they will not do business with anyone who “behaves in a way that compromises” their commitment to a safe work environment.

But best of all is that Anna “Nuclear” Wintour issued a statement denouncing sexual harassment and assault in the fashion world, and announcing Condé Nast would no longer be working with Mario Testino or Bruce Weber.

They pissed off Anna?

Bye Felicias!
More sexual harassment stories? Matt Damon.

No, he hasn’t been accused by anyone, but when the stories and stories and stories began to break, Matt kinda wished these women wouldn’t talk so much about it.

Now Matt has had a change of tune … and when he was asked what he learned from the whole mess, he said:
“I really wish I’d listened a lot more before I weighed in on this. I think ultimately what it is for me is that I don’t want to further anybody’s pain. With anything that I do or say, so for that I’m really sorry.”
And then he added:
I should get in the back seat and close my mouth for a while.”
Good on Matt for learning.
Last week we learned that Mark Wahlberg was paid $1.5 million for ten days of reshoots for All the Money in the World while co-star Michelle Williams earned about a $1,000.

Michelle did the reshoots because she believed in the movie, because she didn’t want to be a nuisance, and because she wanted to “fix” the film after Ridley Scott decided to edit Kevin Spacey out.

Wahlberg just wanted more money and threatened to not do the reshoots if the coins weren’t served up to him; he didn’t care if the movie was saved, he didn’t care about Plummer’s recasting or any of that.

It was cash.

And when it was revealed that Wahlberg’s talent agency is the same agency that represents Williams, and that they screwed her over in favor of MarkyMark, suddenly Wahlberg looked like a greedy self-serving ass…because he is.

And so, after a week of people calling him a douchebag, Wahlberg announced he donate the$1.5 million to Time’s Up.

Oh, Mark, let’s all clap you on the back for doing the right thing, but not because you wanted to do the right thing, but because you were shamed into doing it.

Siddown.
Selena Gomez’s mom loves to talk and kinda loves throwing her daughter under the bus:

Case in point: Selena recently worked with sexual pervert Woody Allen and when Selena’s mom, Mandy, was asked about that:
“No one can make Selena do anything she doesn’t want to. I had a long talk with her about not working with [Woody Allen] and it didn’t click… She makes all her own decisions. No matter how hard you try to advise. It falls on deaf ears.”
Well, now Selena and her team want you to know that she donated her salary from the film to Time’s Up, okurrrrr?

After Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Hall pledged to donate their salaries from Allen’s A Rainy Day in New York to Time’s Up, some fans criticized Gomez for not following suit, and so Gomez, who has yet to make a similar public stand against Allen, had a “source” announce that she “made a significant donation anonymously” to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund that “far exceeded her salary for the film.”

Wait. What. She donated anonymously and then released a statement saying she donated?

Selena is trying to have it both ways – she wants to work on Woody Allen films, but not have to explain why she’s working with an accused predator, and then, of all the nerve, she wants to give herself credit for her anonymous, large donation to Time’s Up.

Bitch. Please.
A little over three months ago, Jane Fonda appeared on Megyn Kelly’s NBC show and threw a shade face at the host for asking about her plastic surgery.

This week, Jane was on the second hour of Today with Lily Tomlin when she clocked Megyn who wasn’t even there!

Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie interviewed Jane and Lily Tomlin about the third season of Grace and Frankie and when Hoda brought up their friendship and wondered how long they had known one another, Lily looked at Jane and said:
“Oh my God… Before your first facelift.”
Jane snapped back:
“Who are you, Megyn Kelly?”
Lily countered:
“Oh, that’s right, I forgot she was the one!”
Both Hoda and Savannah tried to keep from laughing because Megyn Kelly was clearly nearby.

Still, good on Jane and Lily.

Random Musings

It’s been snowing here in Smallville for two days now, and there are threats of ice storms, sleet, freezing rain — which, I think, are all about the same — before this is over tomorrow.

It’s bad, I guess, but what’s worse is that Carlos and I have been trapped in the house together for two days now and one of us just might kill the other.

And I don’t wanna go to prison.

Not.Again.
I’ve been listening to this whole he-said-she-said, Woody Allen, Dylan Farrow mess, and I just wish they’d both shut up.

I don’t know if Woody molested Dylan; no one knows except Woody and Dylan, but the fact that that family, all of them, both sides, keeps airing their laundry in public makes me ill.

It serves no purpose other than making all of them look bad.
In a show of solidarity with the LGBT community, the towns of Newfoundland and Labrador will begin flying the Rainbow Flag over City Hall during the Sochi AntiGay Games. St. John's Mayor Dennis O'Keefe said council voted unanimously to support the initiative:
"Flying the rainbow flag during the Olympics is really a sign of support for people in other countries, in this case in particular in Russia, the people who have been denied their liberties as individuals, and people who are being persecuted because of their sexual orientation. This is something we're very proud to be a part of, because it reinforces our position that all people in society have a right to realize their potential."
In addition, Rainbow Flags are for sale for half-off for people to display at their own homes during the games.

Thanks Canada.
After being gone from the show for a few years, Hugh Jackman, and his Huge Ackman, will be back this year to host The Tony Awards.

Nothing is hotter than Hugh.

Nothing is gayer than The Tony's.

I'm so there, though I'll miss NPH and his sense of humor, as evidenced by his Tweet though I will refrain from the triangulation of "Hugh Jackman, " "NPH," and "Suck it":

So, Michael Sam is gay?

And lotsa folks have an opinion; a quick glance at Twitter and you read some of the most heinous, offensive, bigoted crap. And there are a few nice ones.

You turn on a TV and they are all kinds of people debating the subject: Should he have said something? Should he have kept quiet? Will the NFL hate him? Will the NFL love him? Can I sit in the locker-room while he showers?

Okay, that last one was mine, but … on Dale Hansen’s Unplugged show, on a local TV station in Texas, of all places, he just splayed it all out, and it’s braziliant.

Last week the Dilbert comic strip outed Asok, the long-running Indian intern character Asok, in a series of cartoons criticizing India's recent recriminaliztion of homosexuality. Not all newspapers, however, were keen on running the comic strip …

The Sandusky Register wrote about the substitution:
Today and Saturday, the syndicate distributing “Dilbert” — in an unusual move — sent the Register two sets of comic strips. The main strip, intended for publication, features topics such as homosexuality, war and politics. The alternative strips exclude any talk of these matters. A two-day series essentially mocks a recent Indian Supreme Court decision to make homosexual behavior illegal. The Register decided to print the strips with controversial themes — the ones [Dilbert creator Scott] Adams and others intended for publication.
Good on them. And Scott Adams wrote about the flap on his blog:
Today Asok the intern came out. Tomorrow he’ll have some things to say about the so-called government of India. Cue the inevitable cries of “Stop being political! You’re ruining Dilbert!” Allow me to address that right now. It’s only political if there’s someone on the other side of the debate. In this case, no one favors a government deciding which sexual acts among consenting adults in the privacy of their own homes are allowed and which are punishable by jail. If I am wrong, and you favor the government restricting what kind of sex you can have with another consenting adult, please proudly state your case. I’m listening. Cue cricket sounds…
Snap.
And two snaps up to Nevada’s Republican Governor, Brian Sandoval, who now apparently agrees with his Democrat Attorney General, Catherine Cortez Masto, that the impact of the 9th U.S. Circuit's recent decision declaring that sexual orientation requires heightened scrutiny means that the state will almost certainly lose its defense of its law banning same-sex marriage and so he has decided not to proceed with said defense.

Masto issued an order "respectfully requesting the 9th U.S. Circuit allow her to withdraw her previously filed brief" defending Nevada's discriminatory marriage law on Monday and then Governor Sandoval was quoted as agreeing with her:
"Based upon the advice of the attorney general's office and their interpretation of relevant case law, it has become clear that this case is no longer defensible in court."
In other words, he knows he’d lose, because same-sex marriage in Nevada, hell, everywhere, is inevitable.

But thanks Governor, anyway.

And PS He's kinda hot, no?
So, W Magazine created this whole series of People Tweets, with celebrities in bed.
There were a lot of them that were women, which is okay if you swing that way, and just as I was getting bored … Bam … Joe Manganiello.

Oh, he is definitely a person I’d, um, tweet?

Or let him tweet me.
Last week Gary James, the owner of an Oklahoma restaurant called Gary’s Chicaros, declared that he does not serve, ahem, “freaks,” “Faggots,” the disabled, or people on welfare.

Well, as you can imagine, some folks took umbrage to his policies and took to Facebook to complain and then he basically said, “F**k you.”

So, the stakes were raised and now there is an online campaign to declare Gary’s Chicaro the “Best Gay Club” in Oklahoma City!

One voter declared that Gary’s place was the “[b]est place for hot man sex!”

Another reviewer said “Gary doesn’t serve tube steak. He asks for yours when you walk in the door. But don’t ask to use his backdoor, he saves that for minorities.”

Gays 1, Gary’s 0.
I used to watch Good Morning America anchor Josh Elliott kinda kid and joke with weatherman Sam Champion and I used to ponder the idea that maybe Josh was a kinda lunk-headed adorkable gay.

Turns out Josh wondered the same thing. And it all started back when Josh was thirteen and his father came out as gay to him:
"My first feeling when my father told me was loyalty, thinking, I guess I have to be gay too. Maybe I'm gay. It’s a lot to work through as an eighth-grade boy."
Two years later, his father died from cardiomyopathy and Elliott says:
"The night before he died, I fell asleep on his couch, and he put a blanket over me. I grabbed his hand and for some reason said, 'Dad, I just want you to know I love you.' … For two years, I got to see him complete and out and proud. I got to see him as a man fulfilled and a man in full."
Josh Elliott was the recipient of a 2012 GLAAD Media Award for his ABC World News segment "Battle Against Bullying".

I used to think he was gay, now I just think he’s a kinda lunk-headed and adorkable
