Dick of the Week: Kevin McCarthy Is Lying Again

GQP House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is actually saying that, until Marjorie Traitor Greene was sworn into Congress, that he did not know what QAnon was, let alone how to pronounce it.

No, seriously.

But, as happens with liars, video surfaced of a McCarthy appearance with Fox News last August when asked about Greene’s run for Congress, that there is “no place for QAnon [pronounced correctly] in the Republican Party.”

He then claimed that he does not support QAnon, though he clearly supports Greene, and that Greene has denounced the nutbag conspiracy theory loons.

Except she has not.

And that’s why Kevin McCarthy, who is either stupid or thinks you’re stupid, is the Dick of the Week.

DICK OF THE WEEK: John Fuller

Montana state Representative John Fuller has introduced a pair of bills targeting transgender youth because … Republican, because … transphobia … because ignorance

The first—House Bill 112—requires athletic teams at every public educational institution from elementary school to college be designated based on “biological sex.” Fuller’s Save Women’s Sports Act—though the Anti-Trans Because We’re Bigots Act sounds better—bans transgender students from joining teams that match their gender identity, no matter how long ago they transitioned.

So, let’s say a college athlete, who transitioned in his or her teens, cannot play on the team of the gender with which they identify, but only on the team of their gender assigned at birth.

Yeah, I see no problems there.

Another Hate Bill, also penned by Fuller, would bar health care professionals from providing transgender minors transition-related care. This bill—House Bill 113, AKA An Act Providing for Youth Health Protection—physicians and other medical professionals would be banned from treating gender dysphoria in minors by prescribing, providing or administering puberty-suppressing drugs or cross-sex hormones, prohibited from performing gender-reassignment surgery, or removing “any otherwise healthy or nondiseased body part or tissue.”

In other words, he wants transgender made illegal until you are of legal age. He wants to force trans youth to deny their identity because … Republican.

Fuller says it is “deeply wrong” for young people to undergo such procedures:

"We don't let children do all kinds of things. Why should we allow this to happen? The state has a vested interest to protect children from such barbaric behavior."

He makes it sound like children are forced into gender reassignment surgery.

Again, because he’s an ignorant ReTHUGlican … and a Dick.

UPDATE: House Bill 112 has advanced through the statehouse, while House Bill 113, AKA An Act Providing for Youth Health Protection, was rejected.

Dick of the Week: Jeff Pyle

One would think that adults wouldn’t stoop to talking derogatorily about someone’s looks. And you might think educated people, in 2020, wouldn’t be transphobic. And then throw politician into the mix, you know, someone who represents all people, might watch how they speak.

Not so Pennsylvania’s GOP State Representative Jeff Pyle who is now apologizing for a Tweet comparing President Joe Biden’s pick for Assistant Health Secretary, Dr. Rachel Levine, who is a transgender woman, to Benjamin Franklin:

“American citizens express optimism and renewed hope as Benjamin Franklin joins Joe Biden’s cabinet.”

Yes; a grown man making fun of a person’s looks; a grown man denigrating a trans woman. Pyle was hammered with outrage, including that of out Pennsylvania Democratic Representative Brian Sims, who Tweeted in response:

“REPRIMAND: As Co-Chair of the LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus I have conferred with my colleagues, members Caucus & the Democratic leadership, and all are in agreement that this discriminatory & dangerous behavior by State [Jeff Pyle] must be condemned by House Republican leadership. Homophobia and transphobia have no place in the General Assembly or in our commonwealth. The kind of discrimination & hatred displayed by Rep. Pyle are a direct violation of the public trust afforded to him as a member of the General Assembly. By attacking Sec. Levine in this way, Rep. Pyle has perpetuated both transphobia and discrimination against the LGBTQ+ communities which have among the highest rates of civil rights violations and discrimination in the nation, often with deadly consequences, [Pyle] has brought the House of Representatives into dishonor and disrepute and until his actions are addressed, he continues to place her, and hundreds of thousands of LGBTQ+ people in the Commonwealth, at risk for further discrimination to attack.”

Pyle issued an apology and, believe it or not, pleaded ignorance:

“I had no idea it would be received as poorly as it was. Tens of thousands of emails assured me it was. I owe an apology and I offer it humbly. My grandfather, a very wise man, taught me within every bad situation there is a glimpse of good and I just had to find it. From this situation I have learned not to poke fun at people different than me and to hold my tongue. Be a bigger man.”

Jeff Pyle is a fifty-six-year-old man who hasn’t yet learned not to make fun of a person’s appearance … or women … or, especially considering the number of trans people murdered in this country, trans women. The good news is that Jeff Pyle is leaving Facebook because he’s too ignorant to use it like an actual adult, while the bad news, for now, is that he won’t resign.

Dick of the Week: Ted Cruz

Capitol insurrection inciter, Harvard Law School Graduate, GOP Texas Senator,  Ted Cruz waited about thirty seconds after the inauguration to slam President Biden in a Tweet for signing an executive order committing the United States to the Paris Climate Accord:

“By rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, President Biden indicates he’s more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh. This agreement will do little to affect the climate and will harm the livelihoods of Americans.”

Now, most people with a brain—something lacking in Cruz—realize that the Parid Climate Agreement has as much to do with the citizens of Paris as of anywhere else in the world, and is only called the Paris accord because that’s where it was signed.

And Democrat Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who never shies away from correcting the incorrect, quickly schooled Teddy:

“Nice tweet Sen. Cruz! Quick question: do you also believe the Geneva Convention was about the views of the citizens of Geneva? Asking for everyone who believes US Senators should be competent and not undermine our elections to incite insurrection against the United States.”

And then CNN’s Jake Tapper pointed out Cruz’s hypocrisy in suddenly caring about Pittsburgh’s citizens after spending the last few months trying to disenfranchise Pennsylvania’s voters:

“After voting to disenfranchise the entire commonwealth of Pennsylvania based on lies and conspiracy theories, Cruz expresses concern for the citizens of Pittsburgh.”

Cruz has since remained quiet, which is a good thing.

Dick of the Week: Melanie

First Third Lady Melanie _____, who was busy doing a photo shoot during the riots last week and had no time to comment, has stepped out of hair and makeup long enough to sputter something:

“I am disappointed and disheartened with what happened last week. I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false misleading accusations on me—from people who are looking to be relevant and have an agenda. This time is solely about healing our country and its citizens. It should not be used for personal gain.”

This bitch. Note she makes no mention of her husband spurring on the rioters, but she takes quite a bit of time to say that people said mean things about her.

Yes, you Christmas Hating, Children In Cages Loving, Former Nude Model, we talked about you because you were too busy trying to revive a modeling career to even speak about five dead Americans or the assault on the country or the fact that your husband is a terrorist who pays you for sex.
