Pramila Jayapal, Democrat Representative from  Washington, on the SCOTUS ruling that greenlights racial profiling in America:

“In overturning a lower court ruling, the Supreme Court is today greenlighting the use of racial profiling by an already rogue administration. Speaking Spanish or looking Latino are no=w acceptable precursors for law enforcement to  stop someone in the country, according to the rightwing justices. This is a violation of our freedoms and a repeat performance of a Supreme Court that is continuing to consolidate power in itself and undermine lower court rulings made by judges appointed by both Democratic and Republican presidents.”

This is America under The Felon and his Fascist Regime. Your skin color is a crime; your accent is a crime; the language you speak is a crime.

Matthew Dowd, MSNBC analyst, on the death of Charlie Kirk:

“[Kirk has] been one of the most divisive, especially divisive, younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech aimed at certain groups. And I always go back to hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions. And I think that’s the environment we’re in. You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and not expect awful actions to take place. And that’s the unfortunate environment we are in.”

As I said, if you preach hate and live by hate you will die by hate. Dowd was subsequently fired by MSNBC for this comment and then released another statement via Twitter:

“My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Charlie Kirk. On an earlier appearance on MSNBC I was asked a question about the environment [of hate] we are in. I apologize for my tone and my words. Let me be clear, I in no way intended for my comments to blame Kirk for this horrendous attack. Let us all come together and condemn violence of any kind.”

Let’s be clear, as Kirk was shot he was preaching hate against the trans community, saying trans people are responsible for mass shootings in the country.

Kirk has also suggested gay people be put to death.

He preached hate, that’s clear, but you mix in hate speech and easy access to guns and this is what occurs. The only thing different in this time the GOP didn’t band together and sing a chorus of their biggest hit, “Thoughts and Prayers,” but instead preached more hate saying it’s people on the left who killed Charlie Kirk.

Kerry Kennedy, RFK Jr's sister, on her brother’s ineptness to head Health and Human Services:

"The first smallpox vaccine was developed in 1796. Since then, countless vaccines have been developed and saved millions of lives. Vaccines work. This is not up for debate. Medical decisions belong in the hands of trained and licensed professionals, not incompetent and misguided leadership. The decimation of critical institutions, like the NIH and the CDC, will lead to the loss of innocent lives. This means that children, mothers, fathers, and those you love are at risk now, like never before. I stand with the many courageous individuals in the medical and scientific communities who have had to set aside their vital work to speak truth to power to keep the public safe. Enough is enough. Usually families like the Kennedys keep quiet about the black sheep among them, but when that black sheep is clearly incompetent and ill-equipped for such a powerful position, and holding the lives of Americans in his hands, a Kennedy speaks up.

Boy George, speaking to The London Times about transphobia and why identity politics can sometimes be harmful:

“Trans people are the new people to hate, but I always say: how many trans people have you met today? There’s the world on the internet, which is hideous and full of anger. Then there’s the real world, which is entirely different. So, in reality, people have nothing to be nervous about. If I’m really lucky, my own sexuality takes up about three hours a month. We’ve all got cats to feed, families to visit, jobs to do. I said in an interview when I was 17, ‘Being gay is like eating a bag of crisps. It’s so not important.’ I still think that now. What do you care about someone’s sexuality unless you’re going to have sex with them? … I don’t think [identity politics have] helped anyone. We’re not a thing. It’s like, ‘This is what Black people are, this is what Jewish people are, this is what trans people are.’ No! Everybody is diverse because nobody is like anybody else, so you’re starting from the wrong perspective.”

It boils down to this: what does it matter to you if a person is trans? What harm is done to you by a trans person living openly and authentically?

Laura Ingraham, Fox News liar, on the notion that women—and she mentioned Kamala Harris—don’t prioritize marriage:

“Young conservative men seem to still have their priorities straight because a new poll from NBC News shows that men ages 18 to 29 who voted for Trump ranked having children number one priority, the definition of success. Being married came in number four. So what about Gen Z men who voted for Kamala? Well, they ranked having children at number nine, getting married at number 10. It’s even worse with female Gen Z Kamala voters. Being married at 11, way down in the list for them. Having kids, well, that’s ranked way down at number 12. What is going on with women and not wanting to prioritize family? Isn’t social media great? Didn’t it teach people all the right lessons?”

I have been trying to keep the idiotic quotes out of this post, but the sheer ignorance of Laura Ingraham denigrating women who don’t prioritize marriage when she has never been married, is the height of hypocrisy.

Ingraham does, however, have three adopted children: a son, Michael, and two daughters, Maria and Grace.

I Didn't Say It ...

Maria Shriver, journalist, reacting to Buttker’s speech:

“I’m happy for Mr. Butker’s wife, Isabelle, that she’s happy in her chosen vocation/ Good for her. But she should let her husband know that not all women can make that choice, even if they wanted to. Most families can’t get by without both parents working/ It’s a luxury to get the choice she has gotten. The vast majority of women have to put food on the table, while also raising kids, caring for aging parents, running companies, running for office to give us a better world … the list goes on! And men, well, are they really the ones who set the tone for the culture? Can we not all set the tone for the future? Women, men, gay, straight—of course we can! I will not tell Mr. Butker to stick to kicking but I would suggest next time he speaks to women first and listens to someone with a clearer take on where most women find themselves in 2024.”

Sadly, men like Butker don’t listen … especially to women. But he can live the life he wants, and have the kind of wife he wants, but he cannot say that women need to strive to be married and have children because that’s their truth.

The truth is that Butker is a professional athlete and a lot of professional athletes cheat on their wives with other women, and perhaps in Butker’s case, other men. So, when he decides to dump his stay-at-home-raise-my-children-do-as-I-say wife to get with his latest piece, know that since you wanted her never to work, that you will be talking care of her financially for the rest of her life and yet will no longer have any say in how she lives that life.

Nikki Haley, pandering GOP hag, has said she will vote for Hair Furor in November:

“I put my priorities on a president who’s going to have the backs of our allies and hold our enemies to account who would secure the border. [Hair Furor] has not been perfect on these policies. I’ve made that clear many, many times. But Biden has been a catastrophe, so I will be voting for [Hair Furor].”

This is the same Haley who said she’d never run against Hair Furor, and then did.

This is the same Haley who called him the worst idea for president in 2016—and even voted for Marco Rubio—but then ran to Hair Furor’s White House for a job.

This is the same Haly who said, just two months ago:

“I have no need to kiss the ring. I have no fear of retribution. I’m not worried about my political future.”

But she really wants that VP slot so, while she said she won’t kiss his ring, she clearly kissed the ... and I apologize in advance for this ... ring around his anus.

And, perhaps more importantly, she gave the middle finger to all those people around the country who voted for her even after she left the race.

It’d be nice to think that after this story is published and after my story is told that there is another young, gay, black, or anybody of color kid out there that is like, 'Wow, he is being his authentic self and he’s not getting killed for it, he’s not getting criticized for it. He’s being his authentic self, and maybe I can also be my authentic self, maybe I can also live my truth, just like Jason is.' What me and ... everyone here on Sunrise strive for is authenticity. Cody Conner, a Virginia Beach father of three, taking on the bigotry of Virginia’s governor and the schools boards in the state:

“You are never going to find a right way to do the wrong thing and Governor Youngkin’s policies are wrong. Never in history have the good guys been the segregationist group pushing to legislate identity. Never in history have the good guys been closely connected with and supported by hate groups like the Proud Boys. And the good guys don’t put Hitler quotes for inspiration on the front of their newsletters.

News flash: they’re the bad guys. They’re the bad guys supporting bad policy. And if you support the same bad policy, guess what? You’re one of the bad guys too. When you look around and see only the wrong people supporting what you’re doing, you’re doing the wrong thing. Now you’ve heard some speakers come up here and say how they love these kids but won’t accept them. I’m here to tell you that if your love makes somebody not want to be alive, it’s not love. That’s not love.

Some of you are going to get up here and say ‘it’s the law.’ Well, I remind you that slavery and segregation used to be the law here in Virginia.”

Conner was referring to the Youngkin’s “model policies” for public schools that require students to use the bathroom and sports team that matches their assigned sex; requires written instruction from parents for a student to use names or gender pronouns that differ from the official record, meaning that teacher can deadname students—refer to them by their prior name—if paperwork isn’t filled out by the parents; requires the school to inform parents if a student is questioning their identity.

Conner started speaking out at school board meetings after moving his family to Virginia Beach right before Youngkin’s policies passed. The Conner’s moved from rural Virginia to Virginia Beach so their 13-year-old trans daughter, who came out a year ago, would be in a school system that would be supportive, but that all changed because of Youngkin.

And Cody Conner ain’t playing.

Bernie Sanders, Democrat Senator from Vermont, after breaking up the threat of a fistfight in Congress between GOP Senator Markwayne Mullin and a Teamsters boss:

“Well, it’s pretty pathetic. We have a United States senator challenging, you know, a member of the panel who is the head of one of the larger unions in America, which has just negotiated a very good contract for their workers, the Teamsters. The point I try to make there is this country faces so many crises. And by the way, it might be nice for the media to pay attention to really what the hearing was about, is that workers all over this country are standing up and fighting back against corporate greed. Unions like the UAW, the Teamsters, others are winning good contracts.”

But Markwayne Mullin and his tiny dick tried to hijack that idea.

Chip Roy, GOP Representative from Texas and Freedom Caucus member, saying the quiet part out loud:

“One thing! I want my Republican colleagues to give me one thing, ONE, that I can go campaign on and say we did. One! Anybody sitting in the complex, you wanna come down to the floor and explain to me one material, meaningful, significant thing the Republican majority has done.”

Sadly, Roy ranted in a mostly empty chamber and, to be fair, Roy tried and failed to defund Pentagon diversity efforts and to repeal a federal law against blocking abortion clinics.

Barry Manilow, saying he always knew he was gay and that coming out in his 70s was a “non-event”:

“[I knew I was gay.] We all do, when we’re five years old or something. The gay thing was pretty, pretty strong. It was strong, I couldn’t deny it. I think [coming out] was really a non-event for me. Really, Garry [Kief] and I’ve been together for so long. You know, it just never dawned on me that we were gonna come out. But when we got married, it was a big deal. Garry actually kind of saved my life, because as my career exploded, as I said, it was crazy. It was just crazy, and, you know, going back to an empty hotel room, you can get into a lot of trouble if you’re alone night after night after night. [After meeting Garry] I didn’t have to go back to those empty hotel rooms. I had someone to cry with or to celebrate with. I wish that to young people—that they don’t have to go back to those hotel rooms by themselves. In the 70s … it wasn’t the same as it is today. Now being gay is no big deal. But back in the 70s, it would have killed a career.”

Manilow married his high school sweetheart Susan Deixler but divorced her after a year. He would meet Garry Kief in 1978 and they have been a couple ever since, marrying in 2014 when same-sex marriage was legalized.

Still, Barry stayed closeted until 2017 when he was 73.

Liz Cheney, saying the Justice Department should not avoid prosecuting Thing 45 in relation to the Insurrection he started:

“I think it’s a much graver constitutional threat if a president can engage in these kinds of activities, and the majority of the president’s party looks away; or we as a country decide we’re not actually going to take our constitutional obligations seriously. I think that’s a much, a much more serious threat. I really believe we have to make these decisions, as difficult as it is, apart from politics. We really have to think about these from the perspective of: What does it mean for the country?”

That’s what’s called putting your country over your party, though too many in the GOP thinks it best to hitch their wagons to a racist rapist traitor because they’re scared on him.

Laura Ingraham, the Eva Braun of Fox News, on the cause of that mass shooting in Illinois:

“Indications are that Robert Crimo was a regular pot user. Now, one look at him and to the untrained eye he looks like a complete psychotic, if you’ve ever seen anyone looking like him. What can regular pot use trigger in young men in particular? Psychosis and other violent personality changes. These are the eyes of some of the mass killers who have reportedly been regular pot users. Look at them. Those in politics and in the media who devote their time and energy to fear mongering on fake issues while covering up the truth about the growing scourge of violent psychosis in our young people, they have to be called out. They have to be defeated.”

I’m not a fan of pot, but from what I understand, it kinda makes you lazy and lethargic and hungry, not a person who has daddy cosign so he can buy a slew of assault weapons and climb onto a rooftop.

Again, Laura Ingraham is a pandering, fearmongering, asshat.

Fred Upton, Michigan’s GOP Representative, on those cowards who stood with Thing 45:

“What disappoints me the most is that here we are a year and a half later [and] we’re now just getting other Republicans within the former administration to tell what they thought, what they saw happen. Where were they a year and a half ago when then of us voted our conscience and decided to cast the vote that we did? They should have helped us, in my view, back in January when we cast that vote. None of the ten of us regretted our vote that we cast. None of us would have changed our vote that we cast.”

Upton’s “ten of us” refers to the ten GOP House members who voted for Thing 45’s second impeachment. In April, Upton announced that he will not seek reelection.

Why not stay and fight for the GOP, Upton, rather than turn tail and run? Seems the party is made up of all kinds of cowards.

Tucker Carlson, the Little Prince of TV dinners of Fox News, on the cause of that mass shooting in Illinois:

“So, why didn’t anyone raise an alarm? Well, maybe because he didn’t stand out. Maybe because there are a lot of young men in America who suddenly look and act a lot like this guy. And of course, they’re angry. They know that their lives will not be better than their parents.’ They’ll be worse. That’s all but guaranteed. They know that. They’re not that stupid. And yet the authorities in their lives—mostly women—never stop lecturing them about their so-called privilege. ‘You’re male, you’re privileged!’ “Imagine that. Try to imagine an unhealthier, unhappier life than that. So, a lot of young men in America are going nuts. Are you surprised?”

And that’s another reason we can let women have autonomy over the bodies and their healthcare choices, because they’re raising murderers.

It’s women!!!! It’s women!!!

Geoff Duncan, Georgia’s Republican Lt. Governor, on getting death threats after speaking out about Thing 45:

“There was an interesting timeline that started to happen, a pattern is a better way to put it. So I would go on TV, I would speak the truth and within minutes [Thing 45] would send a tweet out that would say something derogatory or inflammatory. And within minutes after that, me or my wife would start to get threats which would show up on our phone. I mean bloodcurdling threats from the most awful sounding individuals. And deep meaning, that they know things about you and your family. They intentionally were trying scare us and intimidate us.”

This isn’t a president, or even a human being, it’s a child throwing a tantrum and rallying his little band of red hat wearing traitors and bullies to come after you.

Best way to end them? Never let Thing 45 near public office again.

Greg Gutfeld, the tiny angry little man on Fox News, on the cause of that mass shooting in Illinois:

“Just look at people shooting for the sake of shooting. It’s always influenced by the previous attack. So if you thought that you could decrease these attacks by 30%, 40%, 50% why wouldn’t you do it? Why wouldn’t you do it? The media could do that. We could just report the facts, be one and done and leave, instead of giving just nonstop coverage. The media, remember, they can decide not to cover something. Hunter’s laptop: they were easy with that. Border chaos: they don’t cover that. The riots after George Floyd, mostly peaceful: they didn’t cover that. Look at the Akron shooting. They said that they covered the 60 shots from the police but not the fact that the guy shot first. So they know how to not cover things. So it’s time that we look at this stuff and decide enough is enough. If we, the press, can decrease these shootings by 30%, why the hell don’t we?”

Maybe you should suggest that to your bosses, Tiny, and take the first step. I mean, if these other quotes are any indication, your own network went on a rampage talking about the story endlessly. Clean your own house, little man, before coming for any others.

Oh, and if Americans stopped watching the liars and racists and loons and angry little men on Fox News, it will stop.

Mitt Romney, GOP Senator from Utah, on Biden and this latest version of America:

“President Joe Biden is a genuinely good man, but he has yet been unable to break through our national malady of denial, deceit, and distrust. A return of [Thing 45] would feed the sickness, probably rendering it incurable. Congress is particularly disappointing: Our elected officials put a finger in the wind more frequently than they show backbone against it. Too often, Washington demonstrates the maxim that for evil to thrive only requires good men to do nothing. I hope for a president who can rise above the din to unite us behind the truth. Several contenders with experience and smarts stand in the wings; we intently watch to see if they also possess the requisite character and ability to bring the nation together in confronting our common reality. While we wait, leadership must come from fathers and mothers, teachers and nurses, priests and rabbis, businessmen and businesswomen, journalists and pundits.”

Nice to see Mitt taking the GOP goose-steppers to task, but howsabout a little more anger and disgust at their pandering? Howsabout campaigning with and for those candidates who will do better for America and leave Thing 45 to wither and die like a piece of rotten fruit in the Florida sun?

I mean, as long as Mitt doesn’t think he should run.

Little Liars Everywhere ... But Here's The Truth

Well, this certainly tells a different story, doesn’t it?

Post-insurrection, Junior and Fox News, and a great many Republicans downplayed the attack on the Capitol on January 6, but newly revealed texts tell another tale altogether.

Some of Thing 45’s most rabid lapdogs, Fox News hosts Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity and Brian Kilmeade, all sent texts to the former guy’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, begging, pleading, demanding that Thing 45 condemn riot and ask the traitors to stop.

Junior, who has since acted like the riots were nothing much at all texted:

"He's got to condemn this shit ASAP. The Capitol Police tweet is not enough."

Liz Cheney, vice chair of the January 6 Committee, read Junior’s words to the world, and then followed up with others, like this from Fox News’ Laura Ingraham:

"Mark, the president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home. This is hurting all of us. He is destroying his legacy."

Of note, is that Ingraham is only concerned about Thing 45’s legacy, not the threats of murder against Pelosi or Pence, or destruction of our Capitol building. In the months followed, Ingraham attacked the accounts of Capitol officers who risked their lives that day, describing their testimony before Congress as "theatrics" and presenting mock awards like "Best Use of Tears and Dramatic Pauses" and "Best Use of Exaggeration" after they testified about the violence at the Capitol.

But on that day she was begging for someone to stop it, and if it wasn’t a big deal, if it was nothing, why bother Eva, er, Laura?

And then we have Fox News’ Sean Hannity, a fierce supporter and unpaid advisor to Thing 45 who also texted Meadows:

"Can he make a statement, ask people to leave the Capitol?"

And yet eleven months later, interviewing Thing 45, whipping boy Hannity defended the former guy’s actions that day and attacked the January 6 committee:

"It seems to me that the committee has a pre-determined conclusion, outcome,, and that is to once again try to bludgeon you."

A month later Mark Meadows slithered over to Hannity’s show and the two men once again defended Thing 45’s actions; neither mentioned Hannity’s texts. In fact, Hannity actually said:

"This is the same [Thing 45] that said, 'Many of you will peacefully and patriotically march to the Capitol so your voices may be heard.'' 

Then why beg him to stop it, Sean? If it was all so peaceful, why?

And then we have Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade who also texted Meadows:

"Please get him on TV. [They’re] destroying everything you have accomplished."

And yet today, Fox News plays up the riot and a tourist event, a peaceful demonstration, just a few disgruntled voters exercising their Freedom of Speech. Or, just in case you’ve seen two seconds of the attack that day, then Fox News and Junior tried to tell you it was antifa or BLM dressed as MAGAts causing all the trouble.

But, again, if it was all so peaceful and lovely, then why beg the traitorous Thing 45 to make it stop?

Yesterday, the committee unanimously recommended that the House vote to hold Mark Meadows in contempt for his refusal to testify before them. The House is expected to consider the matter on Tuesday.

And Fox News has yet to respond to those texts from their “news” people.
