I Didn't Say It ...

Sue Altman, Democrat running for the US House of Representatives in New Jersey's 7th District, on the topic of trans inclusion in sports:

"If we decide as a society that making rules about who is and who isn’t female is more important than giving young children a chance to be on teams and compete and to be part of something bigger than themselves, especially young people who are more susceptible to suicide and bullying, then I think we’ve lost our way a little bit. As someone who’s been working to advocate for women’s rights and women's sports, I promise you that in the locker rooms of women's sports teams, we’re not super worried about this. We've been worried about getting equal access to gym time, good referees, good trainers so you don’t get injured, fair shake at scholarships, equal pay at the higher levels. I will let individual sport committees decide the highest, highest-level things, but at the very heart of it, we have to respect people of all genders and give young children, especially young people and adolescents struggling with their gender identity, the chance to compete."

Huh. Common sense and respect. That’s how it should be, not name calling and shaming and lying.

Common sense and respect.

Hung Cao, the GOP Senate nominee in Virginia, disparaging drag queens and people who are tolerant of them during a debate:

“When you’re using a, you know, drag queen to recruit for the Navy, that’s not the people we want. What we need is alpha males and alpha females who are going to rip out their own guts, eat them and ask for seconds. Those are young men and women that are going to win wars.”

Oh honey, say that to a drag queens face and then talk about guts being ripped out.

Of note is that Cao has said that he is running for office in Virginia to stop witchcraft that he says is running rampant in California. Now, I dunno, but it sounds to me like someone has had his brain ripped out.

Caroline Giuliani, Drunkle Rudy’s daughter, says she’s backing Vice President Kamala Harris in  the upcoming election:

“After months of feeling the type of sorrow that comes from the death of a loved one, it dawned on me that I’ve been grieving the loss of my dad to [The Felon]. I cannot bear to lose our country to him too.”

Sorry to say, but your father is a lost cause and I think if, and/or when, he goes to jail and The Felon all but gives up on him, your father will still be kissing that grifter’s ring.

Daniel Radcliffe, on the passing of his beloved co-star Maggie Smith:

"The first time I met Maggie Smith, I was 9 years old, reading scenes for 'David Copperfield,' my first job. I knew little about her, except my parents were in awe. I also knew she was a Dame, so I asked, 'Would you like me to call you Dame?' She laughed and said, 'Don't be ridiculous!' Maggie had a fierce intellect, a sharp tongue, and could intimidate and charm simultaneously. She was, as everyone will attest, incredibly funny. I consider myself extremely lucky to have worked with her and shared time on set. The word 'legend' is overused, but if it applies to anyone in our industry, it's Maggie. Thank you, Maggie."

She sounds fabulous and she will be missed.

Corey DeAngelis, “anti-woke” campaigner, a so-called “school choice evangelist” and “parental rights” activist, talking about his time as a gay website performer:

“As an activist for parental rights and school choice, my passion is personal. Just like everyone else, I have made mistakes throughout my life, learned from those mistakes, used that as an opportunity to grow and tried to channel that experience into something positive. I was a victim of poor decisions and poor influences. I have turned that experience into the fuel that fires me to save young people from being put in the same position I was put in and to help parents protect their children. I will never stop fighting for what is right.”

Let me get this queer for you: Corey likes dick, and he still likes dick, but he’s sorry he got caught liking dick.

Jake Shears, the former Scissor Sisters frontman, on his difficulty meeting guys:

“I don’t feel like men check each other out [in London]. There’s not a lot of just flirting with guys here at all. There’s no acknowledgement of one another, even if you’re going to the same gym every day. I feel in other cities, New York ... LA, people definitely acknowledge each other a little more, talk to each other, check each other out, flirt, cruise and I don’t see that very much here at all. I’m not great on the apps. They don’t really work that well for me, so that’s kind of off the table. And ... the bars are kind of gone. The sort of gay bars we used to go on a weeknight, that sort of culture is missing now. The Joiners Arms [a beloved London gay bar that closed] or flirting with guys or like taking somebody home ... I can’t remember the last time that that happened. I do think it’s a nightlife issue and just the apps taking that off the table. People rely on the apps for that so they don’t have to do it in person.”

When you rely on an app or a computer or a phone to make the first move you are kind of missing out on the thrill of meeting someone. It’s all so clinical and precise whereas in person it can get messy and funny and real.

I Ain't One To Gossip But ...

A month ago, during an interview with Variety, Kim Kardastrophe claimed that nobody wanted to work anymore, and that her only advice to women in business would be:

“Get your fucking ass up and work.

And since the statement came out on International Women’s Day Kimmy was hit with scads of backlash, eye rolls, and questions about how she is one to talk since she jumpstarted her “career” by making a sex tape her mother could sell to a porn distributor. And Kim foot-stomped and head-snapped and said the statement was taken out of context except … Variety is saying those are Kim’s words and she needs to own them.

According to Variety, there is an interview video that proves Kimmy was asked:

“What’s your best advice for women in business?”

And she said get to fucking work.

I guess, given how she started her career, she meant to say get to work fucking.

Last year Ashley Tisdale moved into a new house and began fancying herself an interior designer. She dove headfirst into decorating her new LA pad by scouring that luxe design site … Instagram. But it all paid off because … drum roll … Tisdale scored a coveted celebrity home tour with Architectural Digest!

The tour begins in Ashley’s “very bright, very Zen” living room, where she shows off her Mario Bellini sofa, antique wicker chairs, marble coffee table, and built-in bookshelves. Oh, so nice, so chic, so tasteful, so fake. See, Tisdale couldn’t stop giggling and told the camera crew that the bookshelves were empty until right before the crew came to record the tour.

Tisdale tells us that she sent her husband, Christopher French, to a bookstore to buy 400 books so their shelves would look full.

Seriously? She couldn’t put art on the shelves, flowers, anything other than 400 random books she bought to look well-read.

I only wish whoever was running the video shoot had asked Ashley to discuss her book collection.

So, while a lot of folks witnessed that Oscar Slap, there was another smackdown on Oscar night involving one Lady Gaga and one Caitlyn Jenner, and on this one I fall squarely onto Team Gaga.

Gaga, not nominated this year for her accent, skipped the Oscars red carpet, and went to Elton John’s Oscar bash. But I’m guessing security was lacking because one Caitlyn Jenner was allowed to tread the same cream-colored carpet as Gaga and stopped the star to discuss coffee. In a video shared to social media, Caitlyn wanders up to Gaga and asks:

“Are you spending time around Malibu anymore?”

Gaga simply says, “Yes,” and so Caitlyn, who didn’t get the clue to walk away, quickly, wades in deeper and says:

“I haven’t seen you at the Starbucks in a while.”

Gaga, looking a little Who Are You and Why Are You Talking To Me, simply said:

“I’ve switched baristas.”

And walked away.

Note to Little Will Smith: that’s how you slap down.

Lock up your liquor cabinets and your houses if actor Ezra Miller is coming to town.

The 29-year-old actor—pronouns are they and them—was arrested at a bar in Hilo, Hawaii after ALLEGEDLY shrieking at people, snatching a microphone from a woman singing karaoke, and going after a guy playing darts. Miller was booked on disorderly conduct charges and paid their $500 bail.

This mess started Sunday night when the Hawai’i County Police Department got a call about Drunken Mess, party of one, who was bothering everyone at a bar. The owner of the bar says he asked Miller several times to take it down a notch, but they did not, and so the police were called.

And then it got worse; two Hilo residents filed for a temporary restraining order against Miller claiming he harassed and threatened them.

He had ALLEGEDLY been staying at the couple’s home while in Hawaii, after they met the couple at a farmer’s market. In fact, after that bar skirmish, it was that couple who paid Miller’s bail and brought them back to their home where Miller ALLEGEDLY barged into their bedroom and threatened the male victim by saying "I will bury you and your slut wife’.” The couple also claims Miller stole some personal belongings, including a social security card, wallet, passport, driver’s license and bank cards.

This is not Miller’s first time at being, um, disorderly in public. They were arrested in Pennsylvania for disorderly conduct and drug possession, though those charges were reduced to two citations of disorderly conduct.

In 2020, Miller was escorted out of a bar in Iceland for ALLEGEDLY choking a fan, and in January of this year, they posted an Instagram video telling members of a KKK chapter in North Carolina to kill themselves and threatened to shoot them.

Ezra’s big DC movie, The Flash, comes out next year, and they’re also in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which comes out next month. Sheesh, just when those Fantastic Beasts actors thought they were done talking about disorderly co-stars when Johnny Depp was fired from the film, and now Ezra Miller has stepped up to the Hot Mess Plate.

One more story of the slap and I just might be done, thanks to Daniel Radcliffe.

The Harry Potter actor was hoping to stay away from the ongoing discourse surrounding Will Smith’s Hissy Fit and gave the best response when he was asked again what he thought about it.

While appearing on “Good Morning Britain” to promote his new movie, The Lost City, Radcliffe was asked about that slap and smartly said:

“I’m just so already dramatically bored of hearing people’s opinions about it that I just don’t want to be another opinion.”

Thanks Harry, er, Daniel.

I Didn't Say It ...

Colin Powell, former Secretary of State, told CNN’s Jake Tapper he was voting Biden in November:

“[_____] lies. He lies about things, and he gets away with it because people will not hold him accountable. … We’re not a country of just a president. I think what we’re seeing now, those massive protest movements I have ever seen in my life, I think this suggests that the country is getting wise to this and we’re not going to put up with it anymore. … I’m very close to Joe Biden in a social manner and political manner. I’ve worked with him for 35, 40 years, and he is now the candidate and I will be voting for him.”

While Colin Powell has had his own fights with the truth back in the day—WMD anyone—I do like to see people speaking out about the lack of true leadership in this country.
Bernard Kerik, former NYPD Commissioner, pardoned by _____ earlier this year after conviction on eight felony charges, says police brutality is fine with him and no reforms are needed except for the black community:

“When you watch these videos, listen, when a police officer tells you to move when there is a curfew, you move. When a police officer told you to back up, you back up. You’re not supposed to stick your finger in his face. You’re not supposed to touch him or throw something on it. They’ve been bombarded with bricks, rocks, Mollin powotov cocktails, sticks, you name it and you know what at some point in time, you’re going to push the wrong cop and he’s going to push back. In this case, that is what happened. Everything is about reforming the police. How about reforming the community? How about teaching young black men and women, in these communities of color, things like don’t run from the police when you get stopped. Keep your hands on the steering wheel when you get stopped in a car stop. Don’t make furtive moments, don’t put your hands in your pockets, don’t poke the police in the eye when he stops you, don’t assault the police, don’t resist. These are simple, simple things that could be taught in driving school when you’re teaching kids how to get their license.”

Um, you racist fuckmonkey, black people didn’t just start running from police for no reason; it started after years and years AND YEARS of being targeted by police, brutalized by police, arrested for simply walking while black by the police. If the police do better, the communities do better; if the police become visible positive influences in our communities, then no one will feel the need to run …for their lives.
Michelangelo Signorile, SiriusXM radio host, LGBTQ activist and author, on the new round of speculation that Lindsey Graham is gay, using Aaron Schock as an example for outing Graham:

“[Aaron Schock is] the perfect example of a man who was deceiving the public in so many ways … The closet, for powerful politicians, becomes a sort of practice run at the art of deception on a grander scale. And when you will sell out your own kind, there’s really no telling how low you will go. Had journalists at mainstream outlets with vast resources, legal teams and researchers, been pursuing Schock for the hypocrisy of his anti-LGBTQ votes—and revealed that he was gay, with clear-cut evidence—it wouldn’t only have likely stopped an anti-gay hypocrite, it would likely have brought down a man who was spending campaign and taxpayer dollars to live in grand style and luxuriously travel around the world. … Some queer people don’t realize this isn’t about indiscriminately ‘outing’ the average person, the private citizens just trying to live their own lives. It’s actually about protecting them from the corruption of those who are public figures—people who go into public life knowing their lives will be open for discussion—who want to deceive people to benefit themselves and their benefactors. Senator Lindsey Graham has promoted a horrendously anti-LGBTQ agenda and now is one of the strongest defenders of a president who is the most anti-LGBTQ president in history, rolling back rights that have been won. Editors and reporters should be investigating Graham’s hypocrisy the way they investigate public figures’ hypocrisy all the time—and that means following up on reports about his sexual orientation.”

People should be allowed to come when they choose, if they choose, BUT when closted gay politicians use their power to do harm to the LGBTQ community in an effort to hide their own orientation, then all bets are off.
So, come on out, Lady G, before you’re dragged out.
And then dragged.
Mike Huckabee, presidential wannabe and rightwingnut, on the idea that some Republicans will not support _____
:
“If you have people who were nominated, and in the case of President Bush actually elected to be president by Republicans and they will no longer support the Republican nominee who went through the process and got elected, then I’m going to be not just unhappy, I’m going to be livid. And some of them say, ‘But I don’t like his personality.’ Well, get over it. This is not about electing a personality. This isn’t Hollywood. This is the rough, tumble world of politics. And maybe he’s not as genteel as some of us would like. But, by gosh, he’s getting the job done, and it’s time Republicans rally because if they don’t, they’re going to get Joe Biden, who isn’t pro-life, who is for higher taxes, open borders, he’s going to succumb to China. Everything that we find disgusting he’s going to embrace it, including the socialists out here.”

Hey Mike, you pandering fuckmonkey. _____ is a racist who uses the Bible as a prop and you, an ALLEGED Christian, are fine with that.
What you’re livid about, Blanche, is the idea that if Biden gets in the wingnuts won’t control the courts and women’s right to make their own healthcare decisions will stay put.
But, you do you, support and vote for a racist as long as it keeps the Pro-choice movement down.
God will love you for that.
John OliverLast Week Tonight, on defunding police departments:

“The police have not just been incidentally tainted by racism. For much of U.S. history, law enforcement meant enforcing laws that were explicitly designed to subjugate black people. … All week long, protesters have continued to fill the streets in all 50 states in the wake of the horrific murder of George Floyd by the police. And in response to those protests, which have been a stirring pushback against institutional racism and brutality, it’s been frankly sickening to see them met with this. As for the president himself, he initially hid from the protesters in a bunker, later claiming he wasn’t hiding, he was just ‘inspecting’ it. Then, his attorney general had police gas protesters outside the White House so that _____ could have an inexplicable photo op at a nearby church while holding up a Bible like it’s the ticket for his sandwich order that was just called. He also, in announcing jobs numbers on Friday, invoked George Floyd’s name, saying, ‘This is a great day for him,’ which is utterly f**king disgusting. [Defunding police doesn’t mean all police would be eliminated] It means moving away from a narrow conception of public safety that relies on policing and punishment and investing in a community’s actual safety—things like stable housing, mental health services and community organizations. The concept is that the role of the police can then significantly shrink because they are not responding to the homeless or to mental health calls or arresting children in schools or really any other situation where they best solution is not someone showing up with a gun—that’s the idea of defunding the police.”

Defund doesn’t mean end the police force, it means take ack some of their massive budgets and use it in the communities they serve to help our citizens of color climb out of poverty, mental health issues, drug problems. If the communities have help, then you don’t need riot gear and tanks and tear gas.
Help those communities and help everyone.
Daniel Radcliffe, actor, speaking out against transphobic statements made by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling:

“Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I. According to The Trevor Project, 78% of transgender and nonbinary youth reported being the subject of discrimination due to their gender identity. It’s clear that we need to do more to support transgender and nonbinary people, not invalidate their identities, and not cause further harm. I realize that certain press outlets will probably want to paint this as in-fighting between J.K. Rowling and myself, but that is really not what this is about, nor is it what’s important right now. While Jo is unquestionably responsible for the course my life has taken, as someone who has been honored to work with and continues to contribute to The Trevor Project for the last decade, and just as a human being, I feel compelled to say something at this moment: to all the people who now feel that their experience of the books has been tarnished or diminished, I am deeply sorry for the pain these comments have caused you. I really hope that you don’t entirely lose what was valuable in these stories to you. If these books taught you that love is the strongest force in the universe, capable of overcoming anything; if they taught you that strength is found in diversity, and that dogmatic ideas of pureness lead to the oppression of vulnerable groups; if you believe that a particular character is trans, nonbinary, or gender fluid, or that they are gay or bisexual; if you found anything in these stories that resonated with you and helped you at any time in your life — then that is between you and the book that you read, and it is sacred. And in my opinion nobody can touch that. It means to you what it means to you and I hope that these comments will not taint that too much.”

Bravo, Daniel.
Rowling is under fire for recent Tweets suggesting that if you don’t menstruate, you aren’t a woman. She also said:
The idea that women like me, who’ve been empathetic to trans people for decades, feeling kinship because they’re vulnerable in the same way as women—ie, to male violence—‘hate’ trans people because they think sex is real and has lived consequences—is a nonsense.”
‘In the same way as women’? They are women, you tool. She supports trans people would march with trans people but thinks trans women are not women.
Ass.
Tucker Carlson, Fox News, spreading racism and hate and fear:

“This may be a lot of things, this moment we’re living through, but it is definitely not about black lives. And remember that when they come for you and at this rate, they will. Anyone who has ever been subjected to the rage of the mob knows the feeling. It’s like being swarmed by hornets. You cannot think clearly. And the temptation is to panic. But you can’t panic. You got to keep your head and tell the truth. Tell the truth. If you show weakness of any kind, they will crush you.”

There you have it: black people are coming for white people in mobs.
Racist Tucker fucker.
Eddie Redmayne, actor who starred in the film adaptation of JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts franchise and played trans pioneer Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl, on Rowling’s transphobic tweets:

“Respect for transgender people remains a cultural imperative, and over the years I have been trying to constantly educate myself. This is an ongoing process. As someone who has worked with both J.K. Rowling and members of the trans community, I wanted to make it absolutely clear where I stand: I disagree with Jo’s comments. Trans women are women, trans men are men and non-binary identities are valid. I would never want to speak on behalf of the community but I do know that my dear transgender friends and colleagues are tired of this constant questioning of their identities, which all too often results in violence and abuse. They simply want to live their lives peacefully, and it’s time to let them do so.”

It’s the simplest thing: treat people with respect, because you’d like the same in return.
General Mark Milley, the nation’s top military officer, on going with ____ to that church where he was photographed in his combat uniform:

“I should not have been there. My presence in that moment and in that environment created a perception of the military involved in domestic politics. As a commissioned uniformed officer, it was a mistake that I have learned from.”

Good on you now, but you really should have seen through that charade from the jump.
Milley also repeated his opposition to _____’s call for federal troops to be deployed nationwide to quell protests.

I Ain't One To Gossip But ...

Ten years ago, Daniel Radcliffe, AKA Harry Potter, said goodbye to alcohol and committed to a sober life. He was just twenty at the time. Now thirty, he is laying the blame for being a drunk at the feet of … Harry Potter:
“If I went out and if I got drunk, I’d suddenly be aware of there being interest in that because it’s not just a drunk guy. It’s ‘Oh, Harry Potter’s getting drunk in the bar.' It’s inherently funny for people.”
Well, that might be true, but then that would presume that every celebrity who is most well-known for one role would be out getting drunk; but only people with a proclivity for alcoholism are getting drunk and blaming it on a role they played. And then he blamed being a child star:
“They are by that point the breadwinner for their family. So multiple people are now reliant on them continuing to do this job and they feel pressured into it and forced into it.”
Again, though, Dan, I need to disagree, because you are again presupposing that it’s a situation that makes you a drunk—being a child star, in this case—and not your own choices, or your own genetics.

I mean, if being a child star meant you’d turn out to be a drug-addled drunk in public bar hopping loon please explain how Lindsay Lohan stayed sober all these years … or Dana Plato … Dustin Diamond … Amanda Bynes …

Oh, wait, maybe he’s right because … nope, Neil Patrick Harris … Joseph Gordon-Levitt … Natalie Portman … or even Daniel’s Potter co-star Emma Watson. They turned out fine.
So, I’m glad you’re sober Dan, but it wasn’t Potter and it wasn’t child stardom.

It was you.
And speaking of celebrities at a loss for how the real world works … Gwyneth Paltrow.

Last week, the GOOP Instagram account posted a photo of Paltrow’s $1,000.00 outfit, with the caption:
“Most days you’ll find GP wearing G.Label with a pair of sneakers—which is one reason we make it an annual tradition to put together a fresh sneaker guide each year. Get ready to cover some serious ground (run, don’t walk).”
Yes, Paltrow wants y’all to run out and drop a grand on her ugly ass clothes and tennis shows that you can wear while you self-isolate.

And because Paltrow is tone deaf and privileged and unaware of the outside world if it doesn’t feature her, Twitter and Instagram dragged her and GOOP so hard and so long that she was forced to delete the post.

And replaced it with one about working at home without the need for a $1,000 outfit you can get at Walmart or Target for about $30.

Oh, Gwynnie, as we say herein the south: Bless your heart.
Last we heard about Brandi Glanville, ex-member of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she was engaged in a lesbian affair with RHoBH’s Denise Richards—even though now they both deny there was any muff diving.

So, what’s Brandi to do? Talk about the men who’ve schtupped her. Yes, the woman who became famous because her husband, Eddie Cibrian, was cheating on her with LeAnn Rimes, and rode that story to a “career” in reality TV, is now dishing the dirt about dick.

Recently on the Everything Iconic podcast, Brandi talked about her famous, er, infamous, f**ks, besides Gerard Butler:
“I dated a lot, I made out a lot. I made out with one of the men in ‘The Notebook.’ They were single at the time, that’s all I will say. I can’t say [who].”
And we’ll stop, because clearly it wasn’t Ryan Gosling, because if it was, she’d be shrieking it from a rooftop somewhere near Gosling’s home, so it must have been Billy Connolly, the guy in The Notebook who wasn’t Ryan Gosling. And there’s more:
“I dated Ben Stiller for a little while, he has a giant penis.”
Well, to be fair, Ben did admit on Watch What Happens Live  that he and Brandi went on a couple dates before he was married, and it was “fun”. But Brandi is also insisting that she went out with two of the Friends … but not Chandler Bing:
“We went back to [Matt LeBlanc’s] house, he let his dog lick his ice cream and I was out. I was like, ‘Nope.’ I was totally gonna have sex with him, then the dog licked the ice cream and he licked the ice cream and I was like, ‘I can’t.’”
So, she set her sights on Schwimmer, David Schwimmer:
“He wore makeup. He wore concealer out during the day and it really annoyed me. I understand you’re on set, you’re used to wearing makeup, but I wasn’t used to a man wearing makeup. In the moment, it bothered me.”
Brandi also claims Schwimmer called her a “bigger girl,” even though she only weighed “like 109 pounds.”

Keep in mind, now, that the woman who cried adultery when her husband cheated, clearly did a little cheating herself; and keep in mind that, with the exception of Stiller, who begrudgingly admitted to a “date,” and LeBlanc, who has said not one word about Brandi, that David Schwimmer says she’s clearly lying, and Gerard Butler, when asked about a Glanville hook-up went all Mariah Carey and said:
“Who?”
She isn’t that memorable.
Britney Spears may screech about working, bitch, she wants y’all to know that she’s done with it.

Apparently BritBrit no longer wants to work because she doesn’t want to continue keeping herself under the conservatorship of her father and earning him any more coins.Britney resents the fact that her dad is given a $10,000 monthly allowance for her finances.

Look., here’s my take: she’s a terrible singer, and a so-so entertainer, and has a history of instability, so if she wants to stay home with her 26-year-old boyfriend, Sam Asghari, I say:
“Work that, bitch.”
I would.

Random Musings

This is me today. This has been me for the last four days. This had better not be me much longer or, well, I dunno, it had just better not be me much longer.
Okay, so the Oscar nominations were announced this morning and, well, after seeing the list, I suggest they just go ahead and change the name of the show to The Whites Only Party.

Last year Ava DuVernay — black and female — was snubbed as director of Selma, as was black actor David Oyelowo, so brilliant as MLK in that film. The year before that the amazing performance of Michael B. Jordan in Fruitvale Station — if you haven’t seen it, I urge you to do so — was completely overlooked.

And now this year … there are no nominations for actors of color this year, and not one of the eight Best Picture nominees have any major roles for minority actors — unless you count The Revenant, a film that featured performances by some Native American actors, and was directed by Mexican director Alejandro Iñárritu.

But where was Straight Out of Compton, which was widely praised as a brilliant film when it was released, as was  Beasts of No Nation, not to mention Idris Elba in that film; and where was Creed, and Michael B. Jordan — though the academy recognized Sylvester Stallone for his “acting” in that film. No Samuel L. Jackson for The Hateful Eight? No Will Smith for Concussion?

Okay, so Smith’s performance received mixed reviews, but then so did Jennifer Lawrence’s in Joy and yet she’s nominated … again.

Just sayin’.

#OscarsSoWhite
So, South Carolina’s governor, Nikki Haley gave the GOP response to the State of the Union and she’s not scoring any points at all … with her own party.

Haley surprised me by taking the GOP to task for laying all of the problems in this country at the feet of the president and saying Republicans had to share some of the blame.

Say.What?

And then she went after [t]Rump, pleading with voters not to pay attention to the “loudest voices.”

Say.WTF?

And naturally, [t]Rump supporters are already jumpi9ng on Haley with some saying [t]Rump should deport her.

Infighting is fun, but I will, for today, give props to Haley for speaking her mind.
I think every job, everywhere, needs to be Spellchecked. Or maybe there’s something else going on in this garage … ?
And speaking of GOP asshats, Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan was on CNN this week criticizing Obama for absolutely everything from terrorism to healthcare to the second season of True Detective to the economy.

When Jake Tapper pointed out that, under Obama, we have seen 68 consecutive months of economic growth, Ryan actually said that we should not compare the economy to where it was yesterday, but where it should be tomorrow, and since it’s not there yet, it’s Obama’s fault.

Jake seriously had to contain the eye roll over that one.

Paul Ryan is a dick.

Just sayin’.
So, while I was sick — and took one day off this week to rest … which hasn’t helped — I saw a little movie called Walter, about a ticket-taker at the local cinema who believes he is the son of God and has agreed to decide the eternal fate of everyone he comes into contact with.

It was an odd film, but the star was one Andrew J. West, who is giving me Hot Gay Nerd as well as Young Anthony Perkins from Psycho.

Do I go for crazy all the time, or just when I’m congested?
And what’s the deal with Sean Penn vacationing with — okay interviewing — El Chapo, the drug lord who crawled like a rat out of prison last year?

Shouldn’t he be arrested for aiding and abetting since he went to visit El Chapo and to interview him for Rolling Stone?

And should Rolling Stone be held accountable, too?
Is it just me, or does it look like Harry Potter, er, Daniel Radcliffe, used the 24-Hour Fitness gym at Hogwarts to a great effect?
Poor Kentucky.

It appears now that Republican Governor Matt Bevin will have to force the state to pay over a million dollars in legal fees for fighting that state’s marriage equality battle in court.

I feel so bad for … no I don’t, this is great!
