It's Snarkurday!

In Hollywood, every time two women work together, there are always stories of “The Catfights.” Sometimes the stories seem really true—I’m looking at you on Empire, Nia Long—and sometimes they’re nothing but air.

Before Stepmom came out in 1998, there were rumors that costars Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts hated working with each other; both women denied the stories, with Julia calling them “boring.” In fact, Julia, at the time, said she’d wished someone had started the rumor that she and Sarandon were, um, well, f**king.

Cut to this year, with Sarandon working on Feud: Bette and Joan, and the rumors rising that she and costar Jessica Lange hate one another.  Susan was Tweeting about Feud recently and talked about the ALLEGED feud with Lange, and then twenty-year-old ALLEGED feud with Roberts. She said the rumor about Roberts was false and was started by her publicist to drum up buzz about the film. And then she tackled the ALLEGED feud with Jessica Lange:
“The #1 question I get in interviews is whether Jessica & I get along. Jess & I not only got along great during filming, we’re now dating”
And then added, because you know how people believe The Twitter:
“…I mean, staying in touch. She’s one of the reasons I agreed to do the series. Working with brilliant actors only makes you better.”
Look, the rumors about Roberts and Sarandon started because they were playing two women who, at first, did not get along, and the rumors about Lange and Sarandon started because they’re playing Crawford and Davis, two women who, well, truly did not get along.

Not every catfight is real ... unless it involves Nia Long.

Just sayin’.
Now, this is high-larious!

Back in 2015 Shia LaBeouf was in a movie called Man Down in which he played a US Marine stuck in Afghanistan while his wife cheats on him with his best friend.

Man Down—which has yet to be released in America—was shown at a single theater in the UK over the weekend, and made a total of £7 ... or roughly $8.70 ... meaning one ticket was sold.

Ow.
Harry Macklowe, a New York developer, is willing to give up half of his $2 billion fortune just to end his messy divorce case—and he’s laughing and skipping about it.

Outside a Manhattan courtroom this week, Macklowe giggled as he told reporters that he was handing his wife, Linda, half of his worth, $1 billion, just so she’ll go away and let him get on with his new love, French mistress Patricia Landeau.

And interestingly enough, Linda has yet to agree to the $1 billion Go Away settlement, and he entertained reporters with a Henny Youngman-style, Take My Wife Please, comedy routine and suggested reporters check out the stand-up routines he’s posted on Old Jews Telling Jokes.

Linda, though, is the only one not laughing, having filed for divorce in July after learning that Harry had put his mistress up in one of his apartments less than a mile away from their home.

Rule # 1: keep the mistress away from the wife.

Rule # 2: when the spouse offers you a billion to go away, go away.
Folks are always saying models are dumb, but, c’mon, they’re rude, too.

When supermodels Cara Delevingne, Helena Christensen and Coco Rocha went to see “Hamilton” last week, their theater etiquette was almost non-existent.

First, while drinks were allowed in the audience at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, one model insisted at the America Express Platinum-sponsored event:
“We can drink inside and do whatever we want because they rented the whole theater.”
Well, yeah, maybe sip a cocktail but these gals were also talking during the show and taking photographs of the production. And one model actually said:
“We need tequila to stay awake.”
Cuz models are dumb ... and rude.
Back in 2013, Amber Heard worked on a movie with Billy Bob Thornton called London Fields; it has never been released, and so I wonder, if it was, would it sell more than one ticket?

We may never know, because it appears no one will ever see the film as things are getting messy.

Christopher Hanley filed suit against Heard for not honoring her contract by following the script and for not promoting the film upon completion; but, to his credit, he dropped his suit earlier this year.

But now Amber has counter-sued, claiming Hanley and his wife, Roberta, who wrote the script, filmed explicit nude scenes with her body double after she completed filming. Amber claims Christopher and Roberta—whom she calls a “lascivious and sexploitive couple”—filmed several secret nude scenes, including an “explicit pornographic sex scene” with her body double without her knowledge.

See, Amber had specific restrictions regarding nude scenes when she signed on to do the film and never agreed to the scenes in question. So, the scenes by the body double, naturally suggest that it was Amber being all porn-star-riffic when she was not.

But, to be fair, the porn scenes never made into the final, as yet unreleased film, but it appears the Hanley’s made add them to a special, most likely unseen, “producer’s cut” later on.

At any rate, is it just me, or does Amber seem to do more suing that acting these days?

Just sayin’.
Harrison Ford just might be the new Lindsay Lohan ... or at least he Lohan’d his way out of big trouble over his recent airplane screw-up.

The FAA has ruled that they won’t take away Ford’s pilot’s license, or even fine him, for landing his plane on the taxiway instead of a runway at John Wayne Airport back in February.

Just like Lohan getting off with a slap on the wrist for driving drunk, Ford gets a spanking for flying the wrong way at an airport.
And now, let’s end with One-Ticket-Movie-Star, Shia LaBeouf. He’s been a hot mess, a la Lohan, for a while now, but it seemed like he was getting his act, if not his acting, together, until ...
This week when he went into a rage at the staff of a Jerry’s Deli in L.A. Witnesses say he was downing beer after beer for about three hours and then staggered over to Pinz bowling alley—which is connected to Jerry’s—and pitched a fit about ... French fries.

Apparently, though the bartender kept serving him brewskis, he refused to give Shia and fries and LaBeouf LaBlewUp.

Shia doesn’t only lose it about French fries, he ALLEGED that the bartender wanted to hit him in the head with a bottle of Grey Goose—why waste good vodka?—and so he called the bartender a “fucking racist bitch.”

No one knows why he said that, unless he thinks the bartender only serves French Fries to the French ... or Grey Goose to Grey Geese.

Anyway, to add insult to injury, and to make it all seem more funny, LaBeouf was removed from Pinz in his rented bowling shoes and then had to go back inside to retrieve his regular shoes.

Talk about a walk of shame.

Be Still My Gay Heart: "Feud"

Ryan Murphy, producer/writer/director of Glee, The New Normal, The Normal Heart, American Horror Story, Scream Queens, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Nip/Tuck, has a new anthology series coming to FX and my Big Heart is pounding with, um, glee?

His new series will be about feuds, classic feuds. And the first season of the series will cover the rivalry between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis while the pair were shooting What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? The pilot is based on a script titled Best Actress that Ryan Murphy bought a while ago.

Now, having read autobiographies of both women, this will be good; and it will be made even better because Jessica Lange is cast as Joan Crawford and Susan Sarandon will be Bette Davis.

I am flummoxed because while I adore Lange, I am a Team Bette Queer.

Also in the cast are Alfred Molina, as Baby Jane director Robert Aldrich; the fabulous Judy Davis as Hedda Hopper; my Not-So-Secret Crush, Stanley Tucci as movie mogul Jack Warner; and Dominic Burgess, as Baby Jane co-star, Victor Buono.

Feuds will be an eight episode series, shooting this fall to premiere sometime next year. And if it’s good, and who can say it won’t be, there will be other seasons of other feuds, like—and this comes from Dlisted:

Season 2: Susan Sarandon v. Debra Messing starring Debra as Susan and Susan as Debra!

Season 3: Angelina Jolie v. Jennifer Aniston starring Denis O’Hare (in Liz Taylor drag) as Angie and a bottle of Smart Water in a wig as Jennifer!

And on and on and on…..

Random Musings

Some good, and some great, American Horror Story news … creator Ryan Murphy teased a couple of new items for upcoming seasons.

One: My favorite; Jessica Lange, who said she was done with the show after Freak Show, just might be returning after she finishes her run in a play on Broadway.

Two: Next season might see two AHS stories, one in fall and one in spring.

Double the horror and Lange coming back? Oh.Yeah.

In other great horror TV show news … the great Patti LuPone has joined the Showtime fright-fest, Penny Dreadful, full-time.

I.Love.La.LuPone. Just don’t bring a cell phone around her.

Having Mama Grizzly Bore™ interview Donald [t]Rump for the conservative One America News network — all five of its outlets — is akin to sending a first grader to interview Obama about the Iran deal … except the first grader would have had better questions.

In Hot Men news, we’ve begun watching Public Morals on USA, which is about the Vice Squad units in New York City in the 1960s.

Oh, and Hot Men, too, like Neal McDonough, who plays killer Rusty Patton. Dreamy-eyed murderer … yeah, I can forgive the murderer part, I guess,

Austin Stowell plays Sean O’Bannon, the typical Hot Cop with a Heart of Gold, while Aaron Dean Eisenberg is another cop who could cuff me.

Just sayin’.

Kanye West was awarded the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs last weekend and threatened us with running for president in 2020.

Ladies and gentlemen, your First Lady, and former porn star, Kim Kardastrophe-West.

Obama has renamed Mt. McKinley Mt. Denali?

Um, no, he just changed the name back, m’kay?

And Denali isn’t some Kenyan word, nor is it an insult to McKinley—who is from Ohio and never once set foot in Alaska. M’kay?

So, it was same-sex couple David Moore and David Ermold who gave us Kentucky Kounty Klerk — thanks to Beth at Nutwood Junction for that — Kim Davis when they applied for a marriage license and she refused.

And so they went back and back, armed with a video camera and each time they were denied because Kim says God blah blah blah.

This week, even after being ordered by the courts to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, Kim again refused to grant David Moore and David Ermold one, saying:
"I’m willing to face my consequences as you all will face your consequences when it comes time for judgment."
Your consequences is that you will be a four-time married, three-timed divorced adulterer looking for a job, while Moore and Ermold were get married — having been together twenty-seven years — and being happy.

That works for me.

UPDATE: Kim has been jailed for contempt ... cuz she's contemptible.

Anthony Horowitz, the author of a new James Bond novel, announced this week that actor Idris Elba was not right for the part of James Bond if and when Daniel Craig leaves the role. Horowitz said, ahem:
“Idris Elba is a terrific actor, but I can think of other black actors who would do it better. For me, Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part. It’s not a color issue. I think he is probably a bit too ‘street’ for Bond. Is it a question of being suave? Yeah.”
Too street? WTF does that even mean? And, remember, folks said Craig was too rough to be Bond, too; and too short. And when people went nuts at Horowitz’s lunacy, he quickly apologized:
“I was asked in my interview if Idris Elba would make a good James Bond. In the article I expressed the opinion that to my mind Adrian Lester would be a better choice but I’m a writer not a casting director so what do I know? Clumsily, I chose the word ‘street’ as Elba’s gritty portrayal of DCI John Luther was in my mind but I admit it was a poor choice of word. I am mortified to have caused offence.”
Idris took the high road in the kerfuffle, though with a hint of snark when he posted this to Instagram:
“Always Keep Smiling!! It takes no energy and never hurts! Learned that from the Street!!
Hot.Suave.Funny.Hot. He is Bond.

Josh Duggar boarded a private plane last week and flew to Illinois where he ALLEGEDLY entered rehab for being, I forget, child molester, adulterer, porn addict, religious wingnut, or hypocrite.

The faith-based rehab — called Reformers Unanimous — is a hyper-Christian rehab that involves lots of Bible study and manual labor and absolutely NO therapy.

Oh, and Josh isn’t even there? Josh has not shown up to one single mandatory meeting or church service, so it appears that Josh is once again the “biggest hypocrite ever.”

And even his sister-in-law, has taken to Facebook to basically call him out for being a pedophile and an adulterer. And ruining the family's attempts to make money off being holier than thou without ever actually working a single day in their lives.

Yeah, Josh is the problem.

I love Cate Blanchett.

love Lucy.

But Cate as Lucy in an upcoming film? I’m wondering about that.

Minute Rave: Jessica Lange

I have always been a huge fan of Jessica Lange; from the days when she was Oscar nominated in the same year for both Best Actress — for Frances — and for Best Supporting Actress —for Tootsie.  And in another film, A Thousand Acres, there is one scene, one small few minutes onscreen, where, without uttering a sound, she nearly broke my heart. And do not get me started on American Horror Story ...

Brilliant actress; thoughtful person; fabulous lady.

And even more so now, because, yesterday, when the images of Caitlyn Jenner broke the internet a lot of people were saying Caitlyn looked a little like Jessica Lange. And when Jessica was asked what she thought about Caitlyn Jenner looking like her, she said:
“That's so wonderful.”
And she hadn’t even seen the pictures yet.

What a fabulous lady; I love her even more.

Random Musings

This actually happened: picture it, Smallville, 2015; Carlos and I are driving down the road and this conversation occurs:

Carlos: “What was that show we liked?”
Bob: “Which one?”
Carlos: “I don’t know. It was funny …”
Bob: “A comedy?”
Carlos: “Not really, but, we like Kathy Griffin …”
Bob: “Was Kathy Griffin in it?”
Carlos: “No.”
Bob: “Then why are you mentioning her?”
Carlos: ‘We like her and the show reminds me of her.”
Bob: “So, is it funny?”
Carlos: “No. Kind of. Not really.”
Bob: “Who’s in it? [He doesn’t know] What’s it about? [He doesn’t remember] Is it on cable? [He’s not sure] Then I can’t help you.”
Carlos: “Whatever.”

Feel.My.Pain.
So down there in Florida, the House of Representatives just erases language banning gay adoption from its laws!

Big step, right? Woo hoo, right?

Um, not exactly see, the court ruled that banning gay adoption was illegal five years ago but Florida legislators just now got around d to rewording the law. The full bill still needs a House vote, but it has wide support; the Senate and Governor Rick Scott would then also have to approve it before the gay-adoption language is deleted from law.

But Florida Republicans, via House Speaker Steve Crisafulli want you to know that they aren’t fans of The Gays adopting:

"Philosophically, I've never really been there on that, but I'm somebody who operates under the letter of the law. I recognize that this has been taking place for five years, so our bill is going to reflect that."

What he means is that, while most Republicans are still against gay couples adopting children, they're just acknowledging they must abide by the law … five years after it was changed.
So, um, Alaska’s most famous unwed mother, Bristol Palin, is getting married. Palin announced the engagement on social media because, well, that’s how the Palin’s roll.

Her future husband is Sgt Dakota Meyer.

So … she’ll be Bristol Meyer.

I’m dying.
And I’m dying over this:

Matt Bomer, my Husband-In-My-Head, whom I watched regularly on White Collar before it ended its run last fall, is returning to TV in, wait for it, American Horror Story: Hotel!
Bomer and AHS. I’m dying.

Plus, fellow hottie, and also fellow openly gay actor, Cheyenne Jackson, is also joining the show next season.

Hotter.
Well, some good news out of Oklahoma … a bill introduced to the Oklahoma State House by wacknut Representative, and Republican, Sally Kern that would have legalized anti-LGBT therapy died without coming to a vote.

Now, if Oklahoma could get its act together on other LGBT issues … and get Kern out of office … well, that would be great.
I love Broadchurch, a mystery on BBC America. I began watching last year and while I enjoyed it, it seemed to move a little too slow.

Now it’s back, with a continuation of last year’s story, with a totally new story thrown in.
What hasn’t changed is that Andrew Buchan, left, and Jonathan Bailey, right, are still on the show and are giving me a healthy dose of Man Candy with my murder mystery, court case drama.

Some funny stuff happened at a panel for American Horror Story: Freak Show—besides the Bomer casting news. Jessica Lange once again confirmed that she will not be returning to the series:

“Yes, I’m done. We’ve had a great run here. I mean, I absolutely love doing these four characters, and in all the madness, I love the writers and Ryan (Murphy) and the insanity of shooting it.”

But the best part was when someone in the audience asked Lange if Lady Gaga joining the cast might make her want to return for another season and she said:

“What does that mean?”

Nothing beats Jessica Lange shade.

Random Musings

Well, well, well, another Christmas come and gone.

While Carlos and I did not exchange gifts -- except for the flu he gave me and the dirty looks I gave him -- because we're remodeling a bathroom as a Christmas gift, it was still a nice day.
Mellow and sleepy with one pleasant surprise right at the very end.

Last night, for the first time in many nights, i slept all the way through with no coughing jags and sneezing fits and bathroom runs and no Carlos snoring.

I'm feeling better ... in time to go back to work tomorrow.

Feliz Navidad my culo.

Enough of this talk about Climate Change; that's just a hoax.

The fact that is was 80 degrees in Smallville the Saturday before Christmas means nothing except that I had a Summer Cold , because on Christmas it was just 35-degrees and suddenly it was a Winter Cold.

Uh huh.
Look, I get me some Facebook; I’m on Facebook. I get some of my news from there and keep in contact with my Left Coast friends and family. But what I don’t do is let everyone know what I’m doing at every single minute of every single day…
Sitting down to chicken soup!
Off to bed. Night all.
Watching the _____ game! Go team!
Are you really enjoying the moment or are you just enjoying updating the moment to your status?
I don’t eat fast food; it’s just not my thing. But if I were a diner at a fast food establishment, I doubt I would be eating at McDonald’s.

An official from McDonald's Corporation announced at a Chicago Sports Commission luncheon last week that the company would not make a statement about anti-gay laws implemented in Russia:
"If we as a sponsor, or any sponsor, were to pull [out of their deal] or boycott, we'd be hurting the U.S. Olympic team. Our mission really is to make sure that we do not penalize the U.S. athletes. The [U.S. Olympic Committee] is not going to boycott, so we're not going to subjugate that by not supporting athletes."
No said boycott, they asked you to make a statement regarding the hateful anti-gay laws in Russia and you said ...

:::crickets::::

That same official then added,  "We try to keep the politics out of it and try to focus on sport."

And making money.
There’s nothing like a good Christmas movie on Christmas Eve to get ready for the big day … which is why we watched Frances, the story of 30s actress Frances Farmer and her descent into alcohol and drug addiction, and mental instability, ending up being raped in hospitals in exchange for money and then undergoing a lobotomy.

Good Christmas fare, no?

Well, it starred the great Jessica Lange and was really a good film.

Just sayin’.
Where does a single unwed mother with barely a high school education who made a name for herself dancing on TV and selling her private life to a reality channel get a pulpit.

Yes, Blister Palin, demon spawn of the Mama Grizzly Bore™ is speaking out, and throwing her considerable heft, behind bigot and homophobe, Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson, saying:
“[I]f you don’t agree with their lifestyle, they spread the most hate. It is so hypocritical it makes my stomach turn. They need to learn how to respect others’ opinions and not just jump to the conclusion that everyone who doesn’t support homosexuality and gay marriage is homophobic.”
This is what Robertson said about The Gays:
“They’re full of murder, envy, strife, hatred. They are insolent, arrogant, God-haters. They are heartless, they are faithless, they are senseless, they are ruthless. They invent ways of doing evil.”
And yet I am a hater because I question his statements?

Blister? Can’t you find another Alaskan unemployed hockey monkey to knock you up so you’ll go away again?
Glee’s Dot-Marie Jones, AKA Coach Shannon Beiste, married her longtime girlfriend Bridgett Casteen at their Los Angeles home last weekend.

Close friends had been invited to a holiday party at the couple's home, but Jones and Casteen surprised their guests by informing them that they were actually gathered together for a wedding.

Loverly. And congrats to the happy couple!
Since we were sick over the holidays there was a lot of movie watching — as in the Christmas Eve Frances Film — and one more we watched was Jason Segal and Emily Blunt in The Five Year Engagement.

Good movie, but I had no idea it would be told in real time.

Seriously. It seemed that long.
Filed under Finally:

This week the British government granted a royal pardon to Alan Turing, the computer genius who committed suicide after being chemically castrated following a conviction for homosexuality.

Turing, who played a major role in breaking the Enigma code – which arguably shortened the war by at least two years – was pardoned under the Royal Prerogative of Mercy by the Queen, following a request from the justice secretary, Chris Grayling.

Like I said, Finally!
