I Didn't Say It ...

Melissa McCarthy, on that odd Ghostbusters reboot trailer that opens with 30 years ago four scientists saved New York”:

“It’s a reboot. I know, it’s weird that they said the ’30 years ago’ because in this movie, the first one didn’t happen … it’s the same thing of four unlikely heroes, it’s in New York City, ghosts are taking over. It’s that same classic story, but it’s not a ’30 years later.’ The trailer says 30 years later, which I didn’t quite get myself. Believe me, the question was asked. I was like, ‘I think that’s very confusing’, but then everyone said ‘We don’t care what you think.’”

Careful. You don’t wanna piss McCarthy off. I’ve seen her throw a punch!
Elizabeth Warren, on Donald [t]Rump:

“Donald Trump clearly feels threatened by Secretary Clinton’s qualifications to be president so he’s attacking Hillary Clinton for being a woman. That’s what weak men do. It is an old story, and I don’t think the American voters will fall for it. ... I hoped you were going to ask me if I thought he was a sexist, [but] that’s like asking if he has bad hair. He wears the sexism out front for everyone to see. We need someone in the White House who isn’t afraid to fight for equal rights for women, [and] that person is not Donald Trump.”

We need Warren in the White House.
Perhaps she can run after Hillary’s eight years??
Pat McCroryNorth Carolina and Bathroom Bill signer, whining that his reelection campaign is in peril now:

“And now, sadly, in our nation if you have disagreement and you’re on the wrong side of that disagreement, according to the thought police, you’re dispensed of. You’re exiled. I’ve even had some people call me, ‘Please don’t, governor, don’t show up to this event because I have people who disagree with you and we don’t want it. That’s not America. Society is changing quickly and anybody who gets in the way is in trouble. And I might be in trouble. I might be looking for a side job over here.”

Society is changing and if you wanna stay in the Hate and segregate people because you don’t understand who they are, then you will be exiled.
My hope is that you are soundly voted out of office and are never heard from again.
President Obama, on Donald [t]Rump:

“I think that he is not somebody who even within the Republican Party can be considered as equipped to deal with the problems of this office, but look, we live in a democracy. If in fact the Republicans nominate Mr. Trump, then it’s going to be an interesting fall season. I’m confident that ultimately the Democrat in that circumstance will win.”

A Democrat in the White House again, and the Senate going Blue.
The only thing better than that would be if Obama could run for a third term!
Bobby Jindal, on supporting [t]Rump:

“If it comes down to a binary choice between Donald Trump, I’m supporting the party’s nominee. I’m not happy about it. I don’t think he’s the best qualified, I don’t think he’s the one most likely to be successful, but I would vote for him over Hillary Clinton.”

Typical Republican.
They’ll vote for the guy who isn’t qualified, who they believe cannot be successful, because he’s not Hillary Clinton?
I think Jindal’s angling for a spot on the ticket … as Melania’s dog-walker.
Colton Haynes, coming out as gay:

“I should have made a comment or a statement, but I just wasn’t ready. I didn’t feel like I owed anyone anything. I think in due time, everyone has to make those decisions when they’re ready, and I wasn’t yet. But I felt like I was letting people down by not coming forward with the rest of what I should have said…People who are so judgmental about those who are gay or different don’t realize that acting 24 hours a day is the most exhausting thing in the world.”

I agree, though I wish these gay actors would just come out already — I  mean, it’s not like it was when Ellen came out and lost her TV show — because they’d help so many young people by showing that it’s okay, it’s fabulous, to be yourself.

I Didn't Say It ...

Matt Cartwright, a Pennsylvania Democratic Congressman, to Michigan Governor Rick Snyder who testified about not knowing about the Flint water contamination crisis:

“I’ve had about enough of your false contrition and your phony apologies. Plausible deniability only works when it’s plausible, and I’m not buying any of this that you didn’t know until October 2015. You were not in a medically induced coma for a year.”

Finally, someone is speaking truth to power.
Snyder needs to go; as does every single other person who knew about this and did nothing.
Bobby Jindal, failed president candidate and former Louisiana governor, blaming President Obama for Donald [t]Rump:

“After seven years of the cool, weak and endlessly nuanced ‘no drama Obama,’ voters are looking for a strong leader who speaks in short, declarative sentences.”

Funny, because I think [t]Rump rose to power over people being angry at the GOP for sitting on their hands and not getting one thing done for eight years.
Oh, and Republicans like short sentences because that's all they understand.
President Obama, on GOP claims that he is to blame for the rise of bigoted fascist Donald Trump:

"I have been blamed by Republicans for a lot of things, but being blamed for their primaries and who they’re selecting for their party is novel. I don’t think that I was the one to prompt questions about my birth certificate… I don’t remember saying, ‘Hey, why don’t you ask me about that? Why don’t you, you know, question whether I’m American or whether I’m loyal or whether I have America’s best interests at heart.’ Those aren’t things that were prompted by any actions of mine. And so what you’re seeing within the Republican party is to some degree all those efforts over a course of time, creating an environment where somebody like a Donald Trump can thrive … [and] … feeding the Republican base for the last seven years a notion that everything I do is to be opposed. That cooperation or compromise somehow is a betrayal. That maximalist, absolutist positions on issues are politically advantageous. That there is a ‘them’ out there and an ‘us.’ And ‘them’ are the folks who are causing whatever problems we’re experiencing."

As I’ve said before: the man has no f**ks left to give!
Judy Gold, comedian, on Caitlyn Jenner's anti-Hillary stance:

"She said ‘Hillary Clinton has done nothing for women. Oh really? You’ve gained a lot of insight in the seven months you’ve been female….The gays and lesbians are the ones who fought for her to have these rights and be treated like a human being…She is abhorrent. I cannot stand her…Shut the f**k up!”

Yeah. I agree.
Caitlyn Jenner, inserting her foot in her mouth again, saying [t]Rump would be great for women:

“Um, I’m not a big fan because I think of his macho attitude. I think he would have a hard time with women when he doesn’t even realize it, and it doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be good for women’s issues, I think he would be very good for women’s issues. Kill me now. I don’t think he’s out there to destroy women or takes things away or do any of that kind of stuff.”

He calls women pigs and sluts; he castigates women for their appearance.
Yeah, he’s good for women.
Seriously, Caitlyn, sit the f**k down!

Random Musings

Karma is a bitch, y’all. See, back in 2001, the ACLU filed a lawsuit over a Ten Commandments monument outside Grand Junction, Colorado’s City Hall; and so, knowing they would lose the lawsuit, the city council decided to put a disclaimer on the monument saying it was “not meant to endorse any particular system of religious belief.”

I know, right? Bull shiz. But the City Council then created a ‘Cornerstones of Law and Liberty plaza … as a  secular context for the Ten Commandments monument that cost city taxpayers $64,000. And it worked; the ACLU lawsuit went nowhere.

So, what about karma? Well, Reford Theobold was the council member — and two-time Mayor — who led this charge to keep the Ten Commandments monument and Theobold was just arrested for shoplifting.

Thou Shall Not Steal.

Yes; sixty-one-year-old Reford Theobold was arrested on suspicion of theft by shoplifting after an employee of Cabela’s saw him take several “Big Hunk” candy bars, hide them in a file folder and walk past registers without paying; he also had two maps on him which weren’t paid for.

Maybe we need an Eleventh Commandment:

Thou shall not be a lying hypocritical dick of a politician.
Oh, those One Million Moms Seventy-Four Thousand Moms must be clenching their sphincters today because, in their Sexiest Man Alive issue — this year’s man is David Beckham which makes me think this issue is actually ten years old … but I digress — the magazine bestowed the Honor of Sexiest TV Commercial Dads to David Monahan and Larry Sullivan, the same-sex couple who starred in that Campbell’s Soup commercial with their son Cooper.

It’s that karma thing, you know, because had those Moms who have nothing better to do with their lives, not called attention to the ad, the ad, and the dads would not be getting so much attention.

So, thanks One Million Moms Seventy-Four Thousand Moms.
I loves me some Law & Order: SVU. There is always a hot detective on that show. We had years of Christopher Meloni, as beefcake hottie Elliot, and then we had a few years with Danny Pino as Latino caliente hunk Nick. And after Pino left the show, we got Peter Scanavino — who grew on me during his first season and is now just delicious.

But this year the show introduced Broadway actor — he was rocky in the ‘Rocky’ musical — Andy Karl as Mike Dodds, who is pec-o-licious.

Just sayin’.
Bobby Jindal has ended his failed attempt to become president.

Show of hands of those who were surprised Jindal was even running? Uh huh.
So, Turing Pharmaceuticals  the company owned by Martin Shkreli, the douchebag pharmaceutical dick who jacked up the prize of an AIDS drug some 5,000%, has just posted a third quarter loss of  $14.6 million.

I’m sensing a theme about karma this week …
While People has two sexy dads in their issue, ABC is still standing firm in the dark ages and has said, definitively, ‘No’ to having a same-sex couple dance on their crappy show, Dancing With The Not-Quite-Stars-But-Definitely-Media-Whores-And-Has-Beens.

On the show next week, recording artist Who is Fancy will debut his new single ‘Boys Like You,’ about a man falling in love with another man.

Who is Fancy’s choreographer sent an email to the producers, saying it would ‘be an awesome look to have 2 males dancing with each other,’ but ABC said not a chance in Hell.

Oh, but they did say that they would allow male-on-male ‘near dancing’ during the performance.

Whatever the hell that means.
Here’s a picture of Donald [t]Rump. Why am I posting it, you ask? Well, it’s an art piece, a mosaic, if you will, of the presidential candidate, created by combing thousands of other pictures to create the image of The Donald.

Oh, the thousands of other images? All dick pics.

Uh huh. The Donald In Dicks. Seems fitting, dontcha think?

You can see a larger version ... if you wish ... HERE
Leave it to the Mama Grizzly Bore™ to spin her unwed daughter’s second out of wedlock pregnancy as a “third or fourth or fifth chance” from God to allow Blister learn how to either keep her legs closed, or learn to use birth control, or to stop telling young girls about abstinence when she hasn’t learned that lesson yet herself.

I Didn't Say It ...

Meryl Streep, on feminism:

"Men should look at the world as if something is wrong when their voices predominate. They should feel it. People at agencies and studios, including the parent boards, might look around the table at the decision-making level and feel something is wrong if half their participants are not women. Because our tastes are different, what we value is different. Not better, different. I am a humanist, I am for nice easy balance."

And wouldn’t it be nice just to hear a different perspective on things?
Like, oh, I don’t know, from a female president, for example?
Ben Carson, future failed presidential candidate and, apparently brain-dead neurosurgeon, responding to a Facebook question about the Second Amendment and the recent Oregon mass murder:

"I grew up in the slums of Detroit. I saw plenty of gun violence as a child. Both of my cousins were killed on the streets. As a Doctor, I spent many a night pulling bullets out of bodies. There is no doubt that this senseless violence is breathtaking — but I never saw a body with bullet holes that was more devastating than taking the right to arm ourselves away. Serious people seek serious solutions. The Left would prefer to use these tragedies to advance a political agenda. To me, that is also devastatingly sad. The Left would have you believe that a man that asked Christians to stand up (and then executed them one by one) would obey “new gun laws”. That kind of logic explains many of the problems we find ourselves in today."

No one is suggesting that a lunatic would follow new gun laws, you moron, they are simply saying that if we had better gun control maybe the lunatics wouldn’t find it so easy to get a gun and go on a shooting spree.
God, for a brain surgeon, you’re an ignorant f**k.
Adam Rippon, US figure skater, coming out as gay:

“I feel so overwhelmed that U.S. Figure Skating wants to be a part of me. It’s a huge thing to have your sport’s governing body be a part of that and to show all their athletes that they accept them for who they are and for their individual personalities. … I want to be a relatable example. And I want to say something to the dad out there who might be concerned that his son is a figure skater. I mean look at me; I’m just a normal son from small-town Pennsylvania. Nothing changed. I’d just like to be a good role model. I’ve been honest with myself the whole time. I worked hard and loved what I did.”

I could make a joke about how surprising it is that a male figure skater is gay, but let’s get real: he’s gay and we’re everywhere and any acceptance anywhere is a positive thing for the younger gaylings.
Kanye West, on how he’s been discriminated against in the fashion industry because he is not gay:

“I feel like I got discriminated in fashion for not being gay. In music, you definitely get discriminated in music if you are gay. It takes amazing talents to break down barriers. Everyone thought that when Frank Ocean dropped that it was going to be bad for his career. I feel like it’s so cliché to speak about him as it relates to this subject, but there are people who broke the ground and he broke the ground. The people that break the stereotypes make history.”

First off, Kanye, lotsa folks think you are gay, so it isn’t any perceived image of your sexual orientation that makes the fashion industry discriminate against you …
It’s.The.Clothes. Seriously, Google his collection and you can see why he’s being “discriminated” against.
Bobby Jindal, lunatic Louisiana governor and future failed presidential candidate, on the “real” culprit in the Oregon massacre:

“This killer’s father is now lecturing us on the need for gun control and he says he has no idea how or where his son got the guns. Of course he doesn’t know. You know why he doesn’t know? Because he is not, and has never been in his son’s life. He’s a complete failure as a father, he should be embarrassed to even show his face in public. He’s the problem here. … He brags that he has never held a gun in his life and that he had no idea that his son had any guns. Why didn’t he know? Because he failed to raise his son. He should be ashamed of himself, and he owes us all an apology. Case Closed.”

Wow. So it’s not the fact that it’s easy-peasy to get a gun in this country.
It’s not the fact that Mercer’s mother stockpiled weapons and routinely took her son to a shooting range.
It’s that his father is anti-gun and wasn’t around.
Seriously, Bobby Jindal, you are a disgrace to the human race.

ISBL Asshat of the Week [Again]: Bobby Jindal Won't Talk Gun Control, Not After The Lafayette Shootings

Last week, John Russel Houser, a Teabagging, Westboro Baptist Church loving, racist, with a history of mental illness and arrests used a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun that he legally purchased to open fire in a Lafayette, Louisiana movie theater, killing two people and injuring others, but, Bobby Jindal, the asshatted Governor of Louisiana said this is not the time to discuss gun control.

At a press conference, which he also used as a campaign stop, Jindal was asked what, "as a leader" he would support to make it tougher for people with mental illness to gain access to guns.

He didn’t answer, saying there was a right time and a right place for that chat, but not on the heels of a mentally disturbed man using a gun in a movie theater. That is not the time, y’all. Jindal said now "is the time to focus on [the] victims."

Victims; those innocents who wouldn’t be dead or wounded if this country had a serious discussion of gun control, of background checks, of who has access to guns, of open carry laws. Yeah, let’s not talk about it, Bobby, Wait until it happens somewhere else, any minute now, and let’s still not talk about it.

But then he took a swipe at Barack Obama, as he did in the days following the Charleston shootings, saying:
"There will be an absolute appropriate time for us to talk about policies and politics, and I’m sure folks will want to score political points off this tragedy as they’ve tried to do off previous tragedies."
One reporter, though, was undeterred, and asked:
"You want to be the leader of not only the United States but of the free world. What would you do different to stop these things from happening all over the country?"
Jindal refused:
"I’m happy to talk about this but not here, not now. Now is the time to grieve, mourn, come together and show Lafayette’s resilient and we can get through this. I’m not shy of providing my opinions on any topic, but right now let’s actually focus."
Well, I say let’s focus on which candidates are in the pocket of the NRA, like Bobby Jindal, and which candidates enacted laws in their states allowing people to carry guns into churches and bars, like Bobby Jindal, and governors of states who cut funding  for the care and treatment of the mentally ill, like Bobby Jindal.

He doesn’t want to talk about because he holds some of the blame for what happened in Lafayette last week, and because he’s an asshat.

Can I Get An Amen: #AskBobby Backfires For Jindal

Bobby Jindal is dumb. I mean, he actually thinks he can be president — seriously, have a better shot at becoming president — and he convinced people to bankroll him …

Wait, does that mean the people who fund him are dumber?

Yeah … kinda … but I digress.

Last week, just before a scheduled town hall event in Iowa, Jindal asked people to pose questions to him on Twitter using the hashtag, #AskBobby and he would respond at the meeting.

As one might expect, it did not go well … enjoy.

Can I Get An Amen: IBM Tells Bobby Jindal To Suck It

This past Monday IBM was scheduled to have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new National Service Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but they scrapped the party because Bobby Jindal is a bigot.

Okay, maybe they didn’t say he was a bigot, but they did say there would be no party, no ceremony, no ribbons or big scissors, because of Governor Bobby Jindal's executive order; one of those Religious Freedom Restoration Acts that make it legal to discriminate in Louisiana, mostly against The Gays.

IBM was not having it. In a letter to the governor, IBM executives said the legislation cut at the very heart of what their company stands for, equal rights and opportunity for everyone, discrimination for no one. The letter implored Jindal not to support any agenda that protected discrimination against LGBT people.

But, Bobby Jindal is an anti-LGBT bigot, and he just doesn’t care. I’m only sad that his bigotry and vote for discrimination came too late for IBM to take there business elsewhere, but maybe, just maybe, other companies thinking of opening offices in Louisiana will rethink their ideas and stay away from hate.

Random Musings

Around Casa Bob y Carlos, we divvy up chores and responsibilities: for example, I take care of what goes into the cats, while Carlos handles what comes out of the cats … from either end.

Carlos kills the bugs … I take care of snakes. Now, we don’t have a lot of snakes around here — that we see — while we do have our share of bugs so that might seem a little lopsided. Until Tuesday night …

Sitting in the living room, chatting with Carlos, I noticed a reflection on the window of a cat’s tail — I assumed it was Consuelo because it’s her favorite window. Oddly enough, though, there was no cat, just a tail which, upon closer examination, I realized was a smallish — two feet long, maybe — snake climbing up the screen. He seemed to be channeling Carol Ann from Poltergeist as he appeared to be ‘going into the light’ of our table-lamp and when I lowered the shade he kinda wandered off.

While all this was going on, Carlos was freaking … Oh my god … we have to move …. Where is it …. It’s poisonous.

I wanted to slap him to snap him out of it but he relaxed once the snake was slithering away until … it reappeared on the front door — it’s kind of a French door with small glass panes — and was slithering up toward the porch light.

Again: Carlos.Freak.Slap.Almost.

I suggested going out and killing it — and for those of you that think that might be cruel, give me your address and when I get another snake at the manse, I’ll trap it and mail it to you — and Carlos kept saying it would bite me and I would die … seriously.

I ignored him, and armed with the tools of the trade, I turned on all the outside lights and found the snake resting on the wall above the porch light. Using one specialty tool — for you laypeople, I call it a ‘rake’ — I scraped the snake off the wall and it began slithering away. I’d hoped to use my other tool — AKA ‘the shovel’ — to cut the bastard’s head off but he was a quick little "slitherer" and escaped. A few minutes spent spraying some Snake-Be-Gone along the front of the house — it smells a little like Red Hots — and all was fine and dandy, though Carlos wasn’t sure he would ever open a window again.

But, now I know that my snake-removal capabilities are needed, I will, for the rest of my natural born days, keep reminding Carlos of the Night I Raked A Snake Off The House.

Point: Bob
Maybe it's just me, but there are times when I cannot tell the difference between Ellen Barkin, Edie Falco and Lorraine Bracco.
In LGBT news … Democratic, of course, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, of New York, has announced plans to introduced legislation that aims to eliminate anti-LGBT bias in adoption. Her "Every Child Deserves a Family Act" would "prohibit adoption organizations that receive federal funding from discriminating against adoptive or foster parents based on their sexual orientation, gender identity or marital status."

Right now, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Michigan prohibit gay couples from jointly adopting while four other states restrict same-sex couples from using the second-parent adoption process.
I caught Rihanna on SNL last week and she was amazing.

I mean, she was singing, and then, when she took the microphone away from her mouth, and stopped singing, you could still hear her voice. It’s like she’s a ventriloquist and the audience is her dummy …

How.Does.She.Do.That. #LipSync
Notorious RBG, AKA Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg presided over the marriage of Michael Kahn, the longtime artistic director of the Shakespeare Theater Company in Washington, and Charles Mitchem, who works at an architecture firm in New York.

She’s officiated at same-sex weddings before, but what made this one special was that when she pronounced them husband-and-husband — ‘by the powers vested in me by the Constitution’ — she gave a sly look and added a little emphasis on the word ‘Constitution.
I loves me some RBG, and so did the guest, who applauded wildly at her remarks.
Kanye perfumed at the Billboard Music Awards last weekend and was censored for most of the song due to, well, f-bombs and such. And when you add in that there was so much smoke on the stage and that you could barely see Mr. Kardastrophe, well, it was my favorite performance of his ... ever.

Couldn’t see him; couldn’t hear win.
Down in Louisiana, after a House committee rejected a bill that would have legalized anti-LGBT discrimination, Governor, and Ain’t-Never-Gonna-Be-President Bobby Jindal issued an executive order that bypasses the state legislature and makes it legal to deny service to The Gays.

I could go on, but I’ll just keep it simple:

Fuck you, Bobby Jindal. You’re done.
I have a double Hot Men Alert …

While perusing a little HGTV the other morning, I came across Candice Tells All. I like her design sense, but I also noticed that she has a new carpenter, Roger Morin, who is hunky and hot and really fills out a pair of Levis. Plus, he builds stuff … dream man.

And then, that same day, I came across a photo of new It Boy, well, It Man, actor Matthias Schoenaerts, at Cannes.

Yum; hot, with an accent? I’m sold.
Reverend Matthew Makela, an associate pastor at St. John’s Lutheran Church and School, who, according to their website, enjoys, “family, music, home improvement, gardening and landscaping, and sports” — as well as being one of the most anti-gay pastors around — has resigned following the revelation that Minister Matty had a Grindr account, used for bisexual and gay men to arrange hook-ups.

Uh huh; the homophobic pastor is a self-loathing, closeted, lying, bigoted homosexual.
I’ve always said, the more homophobic you seem, the more homosexual you just might be.
Speaking of hypocrites …

Josh Duggar — one of those reality kids form that woman who cannot do anything other than get pregnant and hate The Gays — was investigated for child sexual abuse several years ago after his own father, Jim Bob Duggar, told authorities he saw his son, 17 at the time, leaving a young girl's bedroom and learned that "something inappropriate happened."

Jim Bob brought his son into the Arkansas State Police Station and spoke with a state trooper about the inappropriate contact with a minor, but the trooper didn't follow up on Jim Bob's statement because … who knows, except that same trooper was later convicted on child pornography charges and is currently serving 56 years in prison, so, um, yeah, there’s that.

Three years later, the Arkansas State Police finally brought the case to the Crimes Against Children Division however, the statute of limitations ran out on the case, preventing Duggar from being further investigated.

The ironic part? Josh Duggar is the executive director of FRCAction, the lobbying component of the anti-gay Family Research Council that routinely accuses LGBT people of child molestation.

Hmmmm. Pot.Kettle.Pedophile.
