Carlos eyes are not getting better, though we knew that was the case. We saw a doctor in Charleston last month and he told her he was thinking of starting to use a white cane because ... and this is just one more reason I love him ... then people would see him coming, get out of his way, and he’d feel less nervous being in strange places. Even the doctor said that was a wise way to look at it.

So, about a week later, his cane arrived in the mail; he only uses it when he’s in places he’s unfamiliar with, and just so that people see him coming and adjust accordingly and he can focus on looking ahead instead of looking down; the cane does the “looking down” for him.

Now, that said, at a staff meeting at his job this past week, his boss asked him to tell the office about his eye condition—Retinitis Pigmentosa—and to explain that he might be using the cane on occasion and this is what he said:

“I have RP, which a person gets when they have sex under a Black Moon.”

Luckily most people laughed but a few—and remember we’re in South Carolina—laughed nervously.

But it broke the ice and several people then talked with him about the cane and if he ever needed anything ... all in all, except for the Black Moon Sex, it was a good thing.

Remember last spring when House Majority Whip, and Republican, Steve Scalise was shot while playing baseball by some lunatic with a gun?

Well, Scalise returned to Congress just a few days before the mass shooting in Las Vegas and he says this latest shooting—which left 59 dead and over 500 injured—has only reconfirmed his opposition to gun control.

Yes, he was shot by a deranged man with a gun and then watched the events in Las Vegas and still doesn’t think we need any form of gun control.

Asshat.

UPDATE ... Last month I posted the story of Family Values Conservative Republican Tim Murphy’s adulterous affair proving he’s a lying hypocritical pig, and now, well, it’s worse.

It appears now that pro-life asshat Tim Murphy urged the woman with whom he was having that affair to abort her pregnancy during what turned out to be an “unfounded pregnancy scare” in January.

And on the very same day this story broke lying hypocritical pig Tim Murphy voted for legislation that would ban abortion after 20 weeks.

He’s pro-life when it comes to you but pro-abortion when it comes to his mistress being knocked up. And now, Murphy—from Pennsylvania—has announced he will not seek re-election when his current term is up:

"After discussions with my family and staff, I have come to the decision that I will not seek reelection to Congress at the end of my current term. In the coming weeks I will take personal time to seek help as my family and I continue to work through our personal difficulties and seek healing. I ask you to respect our privacy during this time."

Personal difficulties? While married you began an affair with a married woman and then asked her to have an abortion and you want to play this off like you have some difficult issues?

The only difficulty you have is being a lying cheating adulterous hypocritical pig.

UPDATE ... this past week I posted about _____’s DOJ getting involved in a case about a gay man being fired for being gay and coming down on the side of the employer ... meaning the _____ Administration is fine with gay folks being fired for being gay.

Well, it looks like the DOJ got smacked down somewhat by the court after EEOC attorney Jeremy D. Horowitz explained why “sexual orientation cannot be separated from sex”:

1. The “but-for” theory ... argues that anti-gay discrimination qualifies as sex discrimination because, but for the gay person’s sex, he would not suffer discrimination.

2. The sex stereotyping theory ... SCOTUS ruled that sex stereotyping—punishing a worker for her failure to conform to gender norms—is a kind of sex discrimination. At first, courts only applied sex stereotyping to masculine women and feminine men, but the Seventh Circuit Court explained that gay people are “the ultimate case of failure to conform” to sex stereotypes, since men and women are typically expected to date only individuals of the opposite sex.

3. The associational sex discrimination theory ... holds that anti-gay bias constitutes sex discrimination much like anti-miscegenation laws constituted race discrimination.

That set up Assistant Attorney General Hashim Mooppan—arguing to legalize discrimination—to make his case ... which did not go well.

Chief Judge Katzmann wanted to know why the DOJ didn’t defer to the EEOC on Title VII, as it almost always does and Mooppan said it was because the DOJ was the nation’s “largest employer” and had an interest in retaining its capacity to fire gay people for being gay. Then as Judge Katzmann began asking more questions about interactions between the EEOC and the DOJ Mooppan declined to answer, basically Pleading the Fifth, which did not sit well with the court.

It was a terrible start for Mooppan, and it only went downhill from there because, as he explained: sex discrimination must always involve a belief that one sex is inferior to the other. Anti-gay discrimination does not rest on such a belief, and so it is not sex discrimination.

That theory is ridiculous for a few reasons, though, as the court pointed out, the most obvious one is that decades of case law disprove it. The Supreme Court has never held that an employer must express animus toward one sex in order to violate Title VII but need only take sex into account in any adverse employment action to run afoul of the law.

Judge Jacobs asked Mooppan whether he can refute the EEOC’s associational discrimination theory and its parallel to interracial and interfaith marriage, and Mooppan responded:

“When you discriminate against interracial marriage, you are promoting racial superiority. When you discriminate against interfaith marriage, you are promoting religious superiority. That makes the comparison to homosexuality moot.”

Except, to the judges it seemed to make the EEOC’s stance true that the DOJ was peddling a “radical reinterpretation of Title VII.”

The arguments concluded, but because of Mooppan’s refusal to answer certain questions, and the fact that his own arguments seemed to support the other side, it looks like the court might rule in favor of the EEOC and disallow the idea that it’s perfectly acceptable to fire someone for being gay.

Fingers crossed; we may have dodged a bullet.

This week, two weeks after the hurricane, _____ finally went to Puerto Rico and wasted no time in congratulating himself and putting down the people of Puerto Rico and saying the island should be “very proud” of its low official death count:

“Every death is a horror, but if you look at a real catastrophe like Katrina, and you look at the tremendous hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people that died and you look at what happened here with a story that was just totally overpowering.”

And then he downplayed how dire things are in Puerto Rico, where more than half of the people don’t have power, running water, or cellphone service two weeks after Hurricane Maria

“What is your death count?” Trump asked Puerto Rican governor, Ricardo Rossello. “Sixteen, certified” he replied. “Sixteen people certified. Sixteen people versus in the thousands,” he said, comparing it to Katrina.

And, since most of those are brown-skinned people who speak Spanish and therefore didn’t vote for _____ what’s the big deal?

Oh,. And let’s not forget that he told an island filled with people asking for help with the basic necessities of life that Puerto Rico has “thrown our budget a little out of whack.”

Says the man who costs this country millions of dollars so he can haul his fat white lazy ass to the gold course every weekend.

In Good News ... this week the US Census Bureau reversed a previous decision to exclude a question on sexual orientation from the Census after many in the LGBT community demanded to be included; Rea Carey, Executive Director of the National LGBTQ Task Force, issued the following statement:

“Make no mistake—public pressure on the _____ Administration works. It was messages from the members of the National LGBTQ Task Force and our partner organizations that compelled the Census Bureau to reverse their appalling decision to stop counting us.”

Resist, and you will see change.

Last week the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva voted to condemn “horrific laws” that condemn people to death because of their sexual orientation; 27 nations voted in favor of condemning the resolution; 7 nations abstained; 13 nations voted against condemning.

The thirteen who voted against the resolution?

Bangladesh, Botswana, Burundi, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Iraq, Japan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates ...

... and the United States of America.

Yes, we did. We voted not to condemn countries that give gay people death for being gay.

Carlos has been fighting a cold this week so I am the cook. I cooked dinner last Friday, Saturday, Sunday—I made Chicken Soup for his cold—and Monday. On Tuesday he said he’d cook and then he ... wait for it ... microwaved the pasta sauce that I made the day before and reheated some leftover pasta, too, and called it dinner.

When we sat down to hit, he said, sarcastically, to me:

“Uh, thanks for dinner?”

To which I sarcastically replied:

“Uh, when you microwave pasta sauce and reheat yesterday’s noodles, that is not cooking. Thank you’s are not necessary; but if they were, you could thank me for making the sauce and noodles that you could simply warm up.”

I’m lucky not to have ended up with a face full of marinara!

Man how shocking was it to hear that Tom Petty died this week at 66? I mean, I saw him, and the Heartbreakers, in concert several times and it was always a great show.

Petty suffered a heart attack last Sunday night and then passed away later at UCLA Santa Monica Hospital. He had just ended a tour celebrating the band’s fortieth anniversary with three sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl.

I guess he wanted to go out on a high note.

RIP Tom; thanks for all the music, and enjoy The Great Wide Open.

Carlos called to tell me he was moving a refrigerator at work and bemoaned the fact he was being treated like a hired hand.

For some reason ... I'll blame wine ... I DVR'd a Cameron Diaz movie, Sex Tape, the other day. And last Sunday afternoon, while it rained outside, I decided to watch it.

Five minutes in I couldn't stop thinking how much I dislike Cameron Diaz and how much she looks like Jack Nicholson's Joker with the make-up.

Then I clicked 'Erase' on the DVR and turned over to an SVU marathon.

According to anti-gay Pastor Rick Scarborough, members of Congress are "lining up" to sign a pledge saying they'll defy a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in favor of nationwide marriage equality:

“We’re taking a very adamant stand. If the court declares same-sex ‘marriage’ to be on the same par as a civil right, that’s a bridge too far. We won’t obey. We’ll go to jail.” 

Good, with many of the more conservative members of Congress doing jail time, maybe we'll actually see our government get something done.

Can someone please ask Kathy Griffin to stop the Why I Left Fashion Police Tour? I cared for about a nano-second and then I was over it but she's acting like it's Carson leaving the Tonight Show.

Matt McLaughlin, California wacknut bigot and homophobe lawyer, proposed new legislation for the state: the "Sodomite Suppression Act." And since there are no legal remedies to stop the insanity of having this bill placed on the ballot, it looks like it may go forward.

Enter activist Charlotte Laws, who has filed to have her own piece of legislation considered: the “Intolerant Jackass Act,” AKA the exact opposite of McLaughlin’s proposal.

Would that I could vote in California ...

Can I please ask that anyone, anyone, who uses the phrase, "It is what it is," as an excuse to please stop it?

Lawyer Proposes 'Death to Gays' Bill In Calfornia

You know we keep hearing about the so-called ‘War on Religion’ being waged by The Gays because we are fighting for equality. Well, I for one never got the connection as to how my quest to be treated equally in this country affects the religious beliefs of anyone else, but we’ve seen that excuse in bakeries and dress shops and florists all over the nation:

We won’t serve you because Jesus said not to!

Back in 2004, Matt McLaughlin, a lawyer in California, previously submitted a citizen ballot initiative that would give Bibles to all public school kids, grades 1-12, because of the “great literature” found within. And though his plan featured an ‘opt out’ clause, it faced an uphill battle against groups like the Anti-Defamation League and Americans United for Separation of Church and State. In the end, McLaughlin didn’t collect the required number of signatures to get his initiative on the ballot, so it didn’t go anywhere.

Now, McLaughlin is back with a new proposal: Death to Gays. He calls his newly proposed initiative “The Sodomite Suppression Act” and it says, in part:

a) The abominable crime against nature known as buggery, called also sodomy, is a monstrous evil that Almighty God, giver of freedom and liberty, commands us to suppress on pain of our utter destruction even as he overthrew Sodom and Gomorrha.

b) Seeing that it is better that offenders should die rather than that all of us should be killed by God’s just wrath against us for the folly of tolerating-wickedness in our midst, the People of California wisely command, in the fear of God, that any person who willingly touches another person of the same gender for purposes of sexual gratification be put to death by bullets to the head or by any other convenient method.

Now, even a lunatic like Matt McLaughlin knows that the state of California, even the nuttiest parts of the state of California, would never pass a bill that puts gays to death … fingers crossed … so he included in his little plan a series of fines, imprisonment or removal from the state for being gay; that right, under McLaughlin’s plan, a sodomite — and I’m assuming he only means the same-sex sodomites — will be subjected to fines of $1 million fine … and/or 10 years in prison … and/or immediate expulsion from California for each instance of “sodomistic propaganda.” His plan also gives John Q. Public the authority to execute the provisions of the initiative — killing The Gays or forcibly removing them from the state — and then grants them full immunity from prosecution.

He also says “sodomites” must not hold public office, be employed in a public-sector job, or receive any government benefits, and he proposes that this law cannot be invalidated except by a quorum of CA Supreme Court judges, none of whom can be “sodomites.”

McLaughlin, I think, spends a lot of time in Sodomyville.

And, this is the truly crazy part … any California citizen can propose a statutory or constitutional initiative for the state ballot, by filing the text with the California Attorney general’s office and paying a $200.00 fee so in this case, Matt McLaughlin needs to collect the number of signatures equal to five percent of the number of votes in the most recent gubernatorial election — in this case about 365,880 signatures — to get his initiative on the ballot.  Sounds like a lot, but in a state of over 38,800,000 I wonder how hard it might be to find 365,880 lunatics.

But here’s the part I find especially disturbing: there has not been one religious leader, church leader, person of faith, and let’s not even talk about the Republicans, to speak out against this lunacy. This just seems to prove my point that this so-called ‘War on Religion’ is just a smoke-screen for a ‘War on The Gays.’

Today In Christian Love: God Says Gays Must Be 'Put To Death'

Recently Carols and I sat down to watch The Butler. We hadn’t seen it in theaters last year because, well, Oprah; I can’t with Oprah. I’m sorry, I know that sounds shallow, but I just can’t with Oprah. And it didn’t help that when we saw it on cable, how director Lee Daniels really played up Oprah’s, what should have been, what really was, minor roll. The camera lingered on her in scenes that really had nothing to do with her; at times, when Forrest Whitaker, The Butler, was talking, we saw shots of Oprah.

I.Can’t.With.Oprah. But that’s neither here nor there. I was thinking about a scene in a church where, right about the altar was a blazing sign made of those big globe-type light bulbs that spelled out the words: God Is Love.

Y’all know I am not a religious man, at least of the organized religious persuasion, but my thoughts on God, or that being or power, are as follows: she is love. Simple; direct. And everything that follows, everything that is done in the name of ‘God,’ should be done in the name of love.

Sadly, however, that is not the case, and it seems that more and more these days, God’s name is used in conjunction with hate and intolerance, division and bigotry, and She would not be happy about that, y’all. And She would especially not be happy with this so-called ‘man of God.’

Robby Gallaty, the pastor at Brainerd Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist church in Chattanooga, Tennessee, was preaching his gospel earlier this week and told the gathering of Christians that they should never repent for discriminating against The Gays, like they had done for discriminating against the blacks because blacks can’t change their skin color.

“God said that the sins of the people had infected the very land in which they live. So what happens to people who engage in this activity, this sexual immoral activity? Go to Leviticus 20, God gives us the punishment for engaging in these sins… ‘If a man sleeps with a man as with a woman, they have both committed a detestable thing. They must be put to death. And their blood is on their own hands.’”

Without dwelling too much on it, though, “Pastor” Robby omitted the parts of Leviticus about shellfish and pigskin and long hair and tattoos because, well, let some things slide through if it works to your advantage to persecute The Gays. But, Robby does want you to discriminate against the Gays because, in the long run, the God of people like Robby Gallaty will kill The Gays.

God is Love, in Robby’s world, unless you’re gay, then God will kill you. So, is it any wonder at all that membership in these types of religions is falling? People are tired of using religion as a weapon of hate. People are tired of hearing that God, God, wants anyone dead; that God smites Haiti because of AIDS; that God sends hurricanes to destroy New Orleans because of a party; that God would hurt anyone at all.

Of course, Robby Gallaty wasn’t done; after telling his people that God will kill The Gays, he also said that God would change us; you know, She would de-gay us, I guess.

“[The Bible says] some of you used to act like this, but now you’ve changed by the grace of God. You were washed! You have been sanctified! You have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and by the Spirit of God.”

Honey, which one is your God? The one who kills us. Or the one who washes The Gay outta our hair? Seriously, if God could change us, and if God called us all kinds of sin, and if God Hates Fags, then she would ‘a been changing us from birth so that none of us would exist, m’kay? So, save that hate speech wrapped up as gospel with the nice Christian bow, because it’s not a gift anyone really wants or needs.

But Robby isn’t done spreading the hate about The Gays and continued to warn Christians not to accept us, not to believe, as that sign said, that God is Love.

“Here’s the problem with the argument that you closed-minded Christians, one day you’re going to come full circle, and you’re going to realize that you’re being judgmental just like racism was 50 years ago …. [Now] you guys have repented and come full circle, and you’re going to realize that you’re as foolish as we were with the movement of racism. It’s not the same… A black man can’t change his race, a white man can’t change his race, a homosexual can stop engaging in homosexual acts. See, sexuality is a choice. Gender and race are not.”

And therein comes the lie as gospel, and people will believe because this so-called man of God said it. Like a black man, I was born gay; born that way. I have been gay since my earliest memory, and if I were to try and live my life any other way, it would not be a life at all; it would be a death.

And, if God Is Love, Robby, would she really want that for me? Or is that just you?

I could go into a whole Laundry List of reasons why I am no fan of the Catholic Church; I mean, let's start with how they say they are here to protect children and feed the hungry, yet they spend millions of dollars aiding and abetting pedophiles and keeping the Pope in Prada.

It's the height of hypocrisy, but .... wait .... there's more.

We all know Pope Benny and the Catholic Church are no fans of marriage equality, so it's not much of a surprise that he recently stated that same-sex marriage offends "human truth" and threatens peace and justice. But, when pro-equality protesters near the Vatican began carrying signs that read, "Gay unions don't harm peace, weapons do" well, Pope Benny's gowns got all twisted and he ordered the Vatican Police to remove the signs, like this:


So, weapons are good, marriage equality is bad; in light of recent events at Newtown, Connecticut, it's almost like saying taking an assault weapon into an elementary school and killing children is bad, but allowing two queers to say 'I do' is a threat.

Like I said, hypocrisy, but .... wait .... there's more.

During a mass attended by thousands at the Vatican Pope Benny gave his blessing to Uganda Parliament Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, who said, “I think this is a moment that cannot be repeated. We have been reading about him, hearing stories about St.Peter’s Basilica but now we are here physically. I think it is something that I will remember all my life. It’s a very great moment and I thank God for this opportunity.”

Lovely, no?

Well, not really, when you learn that Kadaga is the Ugandan parliamentary speaker who has said she wants to pass a "Kill The Gays" bill because,  "Ugandans want that law as a Christmas gift. They have asked for it and we'll give them that gift."

And the Pope has blessed her.

Break it down like this: Pope Benny thinks gun violence is fine, same-sex marriage is a threat; and he actually blesses a woman who wants to pass a law making it legal to Kill The Gays.

That's the Catholic Church, and that's why I am stunned that more people are leaving the church in droves. Or maybe it's okay to turn a blind eye to a man who advocates gun violence over same-sex marriage, and blesses murder.

It does make sense, these two separate stories: the Pope wants people to believe Guns Are Good, because how else can you Kill The Gays?

I Have Issued A Red Alert To Springfield, Missouri!

Scott Lively will deny he ever had anything to do with the Kill The Gays bill in Uganda, but, well, that would be a lie. It's a lie because most of what comes out of Scott Lively is a lie; and he's at it again.

See, he's got his Homophobic Knickers in a twist because Springfield, Missouri, might pass an anti-discrimination ordinance and, well, that's a bad thing, you know. So, Lively has taken to penning a letter of sorts, a "Christian Red Alert" to warn the citizens that "Springfield is NOT San Francisco. Stop the "Gay Fascism" Bill."

So, I have decided to issue my own "Don't Listen To Scott Lively Red Alert" to the people of Springfield myself, and it goes like this:

"Friends,
The City of Springfield Missouri has announced its intention to "consider" an ordinance to give homosexuals extraordinary new powers to silence and punish Christian landlords and businesses through civil rights lawsuits. 

Um, actually, what it's saying is that you, as a landlord or employer, will not be able to use The Gay Excuse as a means to fire of evict someone.

"Framed as an “anti-discrimination” measure it is in reality a “Gay Fascism” Bill that will make disapproval of homosexuality illegal in the City of Springfield and grant gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders (GLBTs) legal standing to sue their opponents, primarily Christians. 

Um, actually, disapproving of homosexuality is kinda considered Free Speech, so this bill will not stop people from saying they hate The Gays; it will simply protect The Gays from unfair discrimination.

"Starting in the 1980s in cities like San Francisco, homosexuals have forced many U.S. cities and numerous states to adopt similar “Gay Fascism” laws with disastrous effects on Christian landlords and businesses. Empowered by recent successes, they are now pushing into conservative cities. 

Um, actually, homosexuals haven't forced anything upon any city in this country. Even by less-than-modest estimates, The Gays constitute only about 10% of the population, so how we force cities to bend to our will is unknown to anyone with a minimum number of active brain cells. I mean, if we were able to "force" our ideas on the cities in this country, then we should have been able to "force" marriage equality on them as well.

"As soon as a city criminalizes discrimination against homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism through one of these bills, GLBT activists backed by anti-Christian law firms begin targeting people of strong religious faith and traditional values with civil rights lawsuits.

Um, actually, there are many Gay Christians, and even those of us who don't consider ourselves Christians don't wish to deny Christians from pursuing their Christianity. We would, however, like you to keep you Christianity out of the Government, and we'll keep the government out of your faith. Sounds fair, eh?

"Under Vermont’s anti-discrimination law two lesbians sued the Wildflower Inn in 2011 for refusing to host a lesbian “wedding.” Now over a year later the case is still in litigation at great personal and emotional cost to the owners of this family-oriented resort. 

Um, actually, they sued for discrimination because in Vermont that's illegal, and a crime, for both Christians and non-Christians alike. And, if that inn had wanted to save themselves a buttload of cash fighting a law suit, they should have opened their doors to a paying customer.

"In March of this year a Lexington Kentucky T-Shirt printing company called Hands On Originals was fined $6,600 for refusing to print shirts for a local homosexual festival, despite (more likely because of) stating prominently on its home page that it is a “Christian Outfitter,” reserving a “right of refusal” to decline business in conflict with its beliefs.

Um, actually, the owners of Hands On were sued, not because they didn't want to print shirts for The Gays, but because they didn't want to print a shirt that advocated being 'proud' to be gay. And they said they did not want to promote the Pride Festival; um, you're a print shop. Print. And, in fact, Hands On has gay employees, and has, in the past “filled past orders for customers who it knew identified as homosexual.” See, they don't mind taking our money, they just don't want us to be 'proud'.

"E-Harmony, the online Christian dating site was sued in 2008 under one of these “Gay Fascism” laws in New Jersey and "forced" to create a dating site for homosexuals at enormous expense and in a severe compromise of its values.

Um, actually, and again, there are Gay Christians, and why should a Christian dating site deny Gay Christians the right to find some online lovin'?

"At Augusta State University in Georgia, Christian student Jennifer Keeton was expelled in 2010 from the graduate counseling program over her disapproval of homosexuality. In June of 2012 a court ruled that the college’s anti-discrimination policy trumped Keeton’s 1st Amendment religious rights.

Um, actually, Miss Keeton wasn't expelled for her disapproval of homosexuality, she was expelled because she said being gay was wrong and immoral, and that was not in keeping with the educational courses she was required to take. She was also expelled for not taking part in a diversity training program to understand how her views could be considered harmful 

Um, and actually, she has lost her case. Three times.

"These and many other examples of "homo-fascism" are only possible because of anti-discrimination laws based on "sexual orientation" and "gender identity."

Um, actually, the anti-discrimination laws are just to keep people from discriminating against another group of people based on their perceived personage. I mean, I can't discriminate against a Christian, even though my views are different. I can't discriminate against an African-American because we have different skin color. It's simply saying that discrimination is wrong.

Um, actually, the Gay Agenda is just equality. Pretty simple. We don't want people to be gay if they aren't just like we don't want5ed to be treated differently because we are gay.

The key is to give up trying to appear "nice" and "reasonable" to the media and get aggressive (not violent) in our posture and rhetoric. 

Um, actually, Scott Lively has violent tendencies and all one needs to do is look at Uganda and Kill The Gays to understand how Scott Lively works.

Once again, let me say that the vast majority of the LGBT community doesn't hate Christians; we simply abhor what some of these so-called 'Christians' do in the name of God.

Killing Gays is not Christian behavior.

Refusing to hire us is not Christ-like.

Evicting us from our homes for being gay is not very 'love thy neighbor as thyself'.

We wouldn't do that to you, why are you doing that to us?

And, why would you think God is at all pleased by your hatred?

This Might Be Surprising If Bachmann Didn't Hate The Gays So Much

Michele Bachmann, who believes gay people are "of Satan," and that we've all been abused, are sexually dysfunctional, and suffer Sexual Identity Disorder, hired Peter E. Waldron to run her campaign, when Peter E. Waldron has been tied to the key backer of the "Kill the Gays" bill in Uganda.

She thinks we are "of Satan" and she hires a man who works with people who want us dead.

It seems that Peter E. Waldron has tried to be coy about his identity when confronted; at first he refused to even offer his name, but , at first refusing to provide his name, but The Atlantic journalist Garance Franke-Ruta discovered that the evangelical pastor was once imprisoned in Uganda for a supposed terrorism plot.

And now he's trying to get Michele Bachmann elected.

A film about Waldron's experience, 'The Ultimate Price: The Peter E. Waldron Story,' is apparently in the works. It tells the story of how Peter E. Waldron was in Uganda from 2002 to 2006, and was reportedly arrested with a small weapons cache. While the details are murky, it is clear that he spent more than a month in prison.

The surfacing of his name, especially as it ties in to Bachmann, and to Uganda before that, got people wondering. Andrew Rice, a journalist with The New republic, actually saw Peter E. Waldron while Rice was visiting the church of staunchly antigay pastor Martin Ssempa; Rice was visiting the church while researching an article on evangelicals in the country. Ssempa is well known for inflaming violence against gay people in Uganda, even screening gay porn to incite backlash.

Now, to be fair, no one is saying Peter E. Waldron actively helped push for the "Kill the Gays" bill, Andrew Rice does say that Peter E. Waldron spoke to Ssempa's congregation about his time in the military--which he strongly implied was CIA related--and how cozy he is with the Ugandan president.

Bachmann has a clear history of antigay rhetoric, Her own statements--which she tries to distance herself from today--and her  husband's "Christian" counseling clinics that were found to practice so-called reparative therapy.

She doesn't like The Gays. Peter E. Waldron has ties to evangelicals and political leaders who want to pass legislation in Africa to Kill The Gays. And Bachmann and Waldron are working together on her presidential campaign.

Alice Stewart, a spokesperson for Bachmann, while not asked directly about Waldron's association with the "Kill the Gays" church, said, in a statement in response to his time in prison, that Bachmann is sticking by Waldron: "Michele's faith is an important part of her life and Peter did a tremendous job with our faith outreach in Iowa. We are fortunate to have him on our team and look forward to having him expanding his efforts in several states."

She says we are "of Satan".
He works with people who want us dead.
Just think about that.
