Bobservations

There are times when I feel like I’m living in a real-life version of some TV hick town where they roll the sidewalks up at 5PM every day.

Carlos recently had a court interpretation in a town called Cayce, about 45 miles from our home, and since he doesn’t drive, I took the day off from work and off we went. We got to the courthouse and went inside … there is one courtroom, and outside the courtroom door is a metal detector. Carlos told the bailiff what he was there for and we were told to have a seat and wait until the case was called.

We waited about a half hour and then another bailiff came out to tell Carlos that the client he was to translate for, had not shown up, and so the case was being held over until they could get the man there. Court was, in fact, over for the day, and it was just 9:30 AM.

But the best part was that, as Carlos filled out paperwork to get paid for his time, the bailiff walked over to the  metal detector, unplugged it, and wheeled it into a closet near the courtroom door; then she took the small table that held the one basket used to hold personal items as you went through the detector and tucked into the closet, too.

I was waiting for them to put the wheels on the courthouse and drive it to the next town for court.

Seriously, ask yourselves what the GOP has proposed to do about healthcare, or immigration, or climate change, or COVID because all they seem to do is push guns into our hands and scare us with migrants running amok over the borders and Mickey Mouse being a pedophile.

The GOP-controlled Florida Senate has voted to dissolve Disney World’s Reedy Creek Improvement District as punishment for standing against the Don’t Say Gay Bill. The Reedy Creek Improvement Act allows Walt Disney World to reside in Florida unregulated, acting as its own “government” and creating a special taxing district that acts with the same authority as a county government.

The termination of this act transfers a whopping $2 billion worth of debt from Disney over to Florida taxpayers, resulting in a new tax assessment of $2200 a year for Orange and Osceola County families.

All because Ron DeSantis got his panties in a snit.

A New Jersey Catholic diocese has agreed to pay $87.5 million to settle claims involving child raping priests with some 300 victims in one of the largest cash settlements involving the Catholic church in the United States.

You know, if the Catholic Church would simply have those rapists arrested and tried for their crimes, they might save some of the money that they are clearly fonder of than children.

Speaking of payouts … If you're ever sitting in public and a stranger takes the seat next to you, just stare straight ahead and quietly say:

"Did you bring the money?"

It looks like GOPQAnon Madison Cawthorn is in hot water again!

Many North Carolinians are pissed at Maddie C. after he reportedly spent $2,950 to stay at Skylaranna—a luxury resort in his hometown of Hendersonville. And they’re even more angry that  he billed his constituents $2,000 that very same week for “food and beverages” from establishments like Chick-fil-A, Bojangles chicken, Joey’s NY Bagels, as well as a number of non-detailed payments to his government credit card.

Best of all, is that while Maddie was lounging at a luxury resort and shoving Chick-fil-A into his traitorous piehole, he Tweeted:

“Democratic politicians certainly love wasting your hard-earned tax dollars while forcing your businesses to shut down.”

Pot meet Kettle.

Once again Consuelo has expressed her displeasure that Tuxedo makes an appearance weekly in this space and she does not. So, she perched herself on the bed, slapped on her most imperious punim, and demanded to be photographed.

I obliged because she threatened to use my leg as a scratching post. Again.

I was shocked when I saw this, but it’s true … QAnon nutjob actor has-been Ricky Schroder is getting a star on the Walk of Fame.

Wait—what? It’s not the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it’s the lesser known, well, unknown, walk of fame in Valencia, so, um, yeah, congrats?

Remember the Bill O’Reilly meltdown on TV years back—if not, Google it, it’s high-larious.

Well, this week the meltdown happened again when Billy’s JetBlue flight to Turks and Caicos was delayed by several hours and he went off on an airline employee:

“You’re going to lose your job.”

And when the employee tries to respond, O’Reilly shrieks:

“You f***ing scumbag. Don’t talk to me like that.”

I don’t know what’s funnier, Bill O’Reilly going Full Karen in an airport, or Bill O’Reilly flying JetBlue.

The same Tucker Carlson who thinks gay people are disgusting is the Tucker Carlson telling men they need to tan their balls in a glowing vise.

Lastly we have model Casey Field who models for Wilhelmina. He’s kinda cute, kinda shy, kinda naked, but … Would You Hit It?

I Didn't Say It ...

Dr. Anthony Fauci, on the disproportionate toll that AIDS took on the gay community and how COVID-19 is similarly affecting the African-American community:

“I couldn’t help sitting there reflecting about sometimes when you’re in the middle of a crisis, like we are now with the coronavirus, it really does … shine a very bright light on some of the real weaknesses and foibles in our society. And as some of you know a greater proportion of my career has been defined by HIV/AIDS, and if you go back then during that period of time when there was extraordinary stigma particularly against the gay community. And it was only when the world realized how the gay community responded to this outbreak with incredible courage and dignity and strength and activism —I think that really changed some of the stigma against the gay community. Very much so. I see a similarity here because health disparities have always existed for the African-American community. Here again with the crisis, how it’s shining a bright light on how unacceptable that is because, yet again, when you have a situation like the coronavirus, they are suffering disproportionately … it’s not that they are getting infected more often, it’s that when they do get infected their underlying medical conditions—the diabetes, the hypertension, the obesity, the asthma—those are the kind of things that wind them up in the ICU and ultimately give him a higher death rate. So when all this is over and, as we said, it will end, we will get over coronavirus, but there will still be health disparities which we really do need to address in the African American community.”

The disparities exist because of the racism that still runs this country, starting with the Racist-in-Chief.
What I love is that Fauci made the remarks as Michael Elizabeth Pence stood there watching. In 2000, Pence said that he was in favor of sending money allocated to care for people with HIV/AIDS to organizations that provide conversion therapy.
Snap. Fauci.
Bill O’Reilly, former Fox News liar and sexual predator and all-around perv, talking with Fox News, and _____ lapdog, Sean Hannity, about the pandemic:

“Oh man I wish I could[fix this], you know? But we’re making little steps. Bernie Sanders, you know, he’s—he’s gone, that’s really good for everybody. The projections that you just mentioned are down to 60,000, I don’t think it will be that high. 13,000 dead now in the USA. Many people who are dying, both here and around the world, were on their last legs anyway, and I don’t want to sound callous about that.”

Remember the Ebola outbreak during Obama’s presidency? Well, O’Reilly, pandering fuck that he is, ripped Obama for the response to that outbreak which killed two people, but isn’t really all that upset about 15,000 Americans dead, or projections of up to 100,000 because … politics.
Fuck off.
Michael Atkinson, fired Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, took the unusual step of saying he was fired by _____ for doing his handling of whistleblower complaint that led to _____’s impeachment:

“I am disappointed and saddened that President _____ has decided to remove me as the inspector general of the intelligence community because I did not have his ‘fullest confidence. It is hard not to think that the president’s loss of confidence in me derives from my having faithfully discharged my legal obligations as an independent and impartial inspectll oor general.”

Snap.
_____, ever the chickenshit pissant Obama wannabe, fired Atkinson in the dead of night amid chaos over the coronavirus crisis.
Like no one would notice the criminal doing his dirty work.
Thank you, Mr. Atkinson, for doing the job you were hired to do, and doing it correctly, even if it cost you that same position.
Pink, having recovered from COVID-19, is donating $1 million to fight the virus:

“Two weeks ago my three-year old son, Jameson, and I are were showing symptoms of COVID-19. Fortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive. My family was already sheltering at home and we continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor. Just a few days ago we were re-tested and are now thankfully negative. It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible. This illness is serious and real. People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities. In an effort to support the healthcare professionals who are battling on the frontlines every day, I am donating $500,000 to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia in honor of my mother, Judy Moore, who worked there for 18 years in the Cardiomyopathy and Heart Transplant Center. Additionally, I am donating $500,000 to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund. THANK YOU to all of our healthcare professionals and everyone in the world who are working so hard to protect our loved ones. You are our heroes! These next two weeks are crucial: please stay home. Please. Stay. Home.”

Those last three words.
Do that, for the sake of everyone else.
_____, once again proving himself unfit and ill-equipped to handle a pandemic, when talking about model projections for viral spread and possible death:

“The models show hundreds of thousands of people are going to die and you know what I want to do? I want to come way under the model. The professionals did the models and I was never involved in a model. At least this kind of a model.”

Seriously. This fuck wants to talk about his sexual prowess—which is solely based on his ALLEGED bank account, when the discussion is about the 100,000 or more Americans who may die in the coming weeks.
If this does not disgust you, you need help.
If this does not make you vote for ANYONE else, you need help.
Rachel Maddow, MSNBC host, appealing to _____’s ego in an effort to get him to put someone in place who’s qualified to lead the national battle against COVID-19:

“We have the worst coronavirus outbreak in the world. We’ve already got more than 7,000 dead Americans. We don’t have a treatment. We don’t have a vaccine. We don’t have a cure. We don’t really even have testing in this country on any widespread basis. The only thing we’ve got to try to stop this virus is to keep people from giving it to each other. It is insane that we have no federal policy in this regard. Mr. President, there are things that only you can do here, but the most important thing that you can do is put somebody in charge. You know, you’ll love it, because whoever you pick, you can blame that person at the end when there are still 100,000 or 200,000 dead Americans piled up in the nation’s funeral homes and crematoriums and cemeteries. Pick somebody you’re looking forward to scapegoating and blaming and saying that it was all their fault from the beginning. I think that we could take that as a country, if putting somebody in charge, who is actually in charge, might also mean that we’ll keep the numbers that low. Because as long as we don’t have a federal response that is being run by anyone, there’s no guarantee that the numbers will stay within that massive range that you’re talking about. The sky is the limit in terms of what it could be [but] you may want to get your son-in-law out of the way here.”

But Jared’s fucking his daughter, so clearly he’s the best man for the job?

I Didn't Say It ...

Hillary Clinton, on Fox News:

“Fox News is always trying to impeach me, so somebody needs to tell them, that doesn’t apply to a private citizen. When you’ve been accused of everything like I have, and you realize some people believe it, it’s really depressing.”

Seriously, Hillary has been accused of a Benghazi coverup, an email scandal, faking the moon landing, shooting Lincoln; and yet not once has she ever been found guilty, or had a special prosecutor investigate her.
Can’t say the same for _____?
Jay-Z, on his mother’s coming out:

“Imagine having lived your life for someone else. And you think you’re protecting your kids. And for my mother to have to live as someone that she wasn’t and hide and like, protect her kids – and didn’t want to embarrass her kids, and you know, for all this time. And for her to sit in front of me and tell me ‘I think I love someone.’ I mean, I really cried. That’s a real story. I cried because I was so happy for her that she was free.”

Free. That’s the word to best describe coming out.
_____, on the Easter event at the White House:

“This is a special year. Our country is doing great. You look at the economy, you look at what’s happening. Nothing’s ever easy, but we have never had an economy like we have right now, and we’re going to make it bigger and better and stronger. Our military is now at a level, will soon be at a level, that it’s never been before. It’s — you see what’s happening. and you see what’s happening with funding. The funding of our military was so important. And so many military people are with us today. So just think of $700 billion because that’s all going into our military this year.”

Yup, he’s turned Easter into a rant against immigrants and a chance to build up his own tiny fisted ego.
Seth Meyers, on the Easter event at the White House:

“Ahh, yes. Who could forget how Christ rose on the third day and said unto his followers, ‘We got to do something about all these Mexicans.’ Not that I’m surprised ______ doesn’t embrace the spirit of Easter. I bet every kid who found an egg on the White House lawn is getting a bill within the next week. ‘We have had terrible egg deals for too long! Kids have been taking our eggs, they’ve been laughing at us!'”

Sadly, this is true, and this is our president … for now.
Robert Páez, Venezuelan diver, on being gay:

“In sharing my story, I hope to help make homosexuality as common of a word as heterosexuality. We have to read it, say it, and accept it with clarity and maturity. We have to understand that we are all equal. Being gay does not make us less as a man, or girls less as a woman. Being gay is not a disease. Accepting ourselves and respecting ourselves are big first steps. Life is too beautiful to be hidden in a closet.”

Very simple; it should make no difference what anyone’s sexual orientation might be.
Roxane Gay, writer, professor, editor, and commentator, on the Roseanne reboot:

“As I watched the first two episodes of the “Roseanne” reboot, I thought again about accountability. I laughed, yes, and enjoyed seeing the Conner family back on my screen. My first reaction was that the show was excellent. But I could not set aside what I know of Roseanne Barr and how toxic and dangerous her current public persona is. I could not overlook how the Conner family came together to support Mark as he was bullied at school for his gender presentation, after voting for a president who actively works against the transgender community. They voted for a president who doesn’t think the black life of their granddaughter matters. They act as if love can protect the most vulnerable members of their family from the repercussions of their political choices. It cannot.”

I agree with her, except for that part about the show being excellent.
Bill O’Reilly, on the white man being oppressed … seriously:

“For a long time skin color really wasn’t much of an issue. ‘80s and 90s, you didn’t hear a lot, yeah you always had your Farrakhan’s and your Sharpton’s, you always had those people, they were race hustlers, it was a money thing, an industry thing. But now whiteness has become the issue, whiteness. Alright so if you’re a white American you are part of a cabal that either consciously or unconsciously keeps minorities down. Therefore that has to end and whiteness has to be put aside. That’s what the border is all about. The open border people and believe me, this is behind the movement in California and in the Democratic precincts. Let everybody in, everybody in, that would diminish whiteness because minorities then would take over as they have in many parts of California. That’s what that’s all about. Getting whiteness out of power, particularly white men. So then the Me Too movement, very closely aligned with the progressive left, very, very closely aligned. Get those white guys, get ‘em, get ‘em. So you’re seeing this almost every day, I’m telling you about this almost every day. That the white people, whether they know it or not are oppressing and creating macroaggressions for the minority community. So the white people have to be swept out of power, got to get them out, let the LGBTs and the minorities, and they have to run the show, that’s what it is all about, what this is all about and they’re making strides like crazy.”

Okay, yeah, I’m a white guy; I admit it. But nothing disgusts me more than listening to a white guy explain race. Or how a sexual predator who paid upwards of $30 million to avoid prosecution rants against the #MeToo movement.
Sean Hannity, fearmongering for _____:

“This country is headed towards a civil war in terms of two sides that are just hating each other and if Robert Mueller wants, there’s a big red button in the middle of the table. And if Robert Mueller is so pompous and so arrogant and so power hungry and so corrupt that he’s going to hit the red button and he’s going to ignite a battle that we’ve not seen in this country before. You think it’s, and I’m not talking about a war, I’m talking about, in terms of, there’s going to be two sides of this that are fighting and dividing this country at a level we’ve never seen and you’re going to basically have two sides in America, those that stand for truth and those that literally buy into the corrupt deep state attacks against a duly elected president and that’s what it’s going to be. I’m not talking about violence, I’m talking about everybody hating each other. You’re not going to be able to have a family dinner without mashed potatoes being thrown around the room.”

This from a man who helped spread a myth that the last president wasn’t American.
Pot.Kettle. Shut the fuck up, hack.
Shep Smith, Fox News anomaly, fact-checking _____’s lies about Amazon hurting the Post Office:

“The Postal Service’s own numbers show it makes money by delivering packages for Amazon and other companies. As for taxpayers, the Post Office’s own website points out and I quote: the Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating the space. None. And that reference to $1.47 that the president came up with there, a Citigroup study showed last year on average the Postal Service was charging $1.46 below market rates for package delivery. But our researchers point out if that discount exists, it’s not just for amazon — it’s a bulk rate discount.”

I wonder how much it bugs the hacks at Fox News who have their lips pressed to flabby orange ass, that Smith continues to tell the truth?

Random Musings

Perhaps he can thank _____ for the boost in popularity ...

Colin Kaepernick, the former 49er’s quarterback who started the Take A Knee movement over police brutality against black Americans, has signed a book deal with Random House worth just over $1 million.

Too bad most _____ supporters can’t, or won’t, read, because then they might learn the truth of why Kaepernick took a knee in the first place.

Hint: it has nothing to do with troops, anthems or flags.
Do you think it’s because they’re gay?

The Washington Blade, the oldest LGBT newspaper in the country, find themselves getting shut out of questions at White House press briefings. Chris Johnson, the Blade’s White correspondent says:
“Many times during the briefings, I see Sanders look directly at me as I raise my hand for a question, but she nonetheless skips me for another reporter, usually from a conservative, Trump-friendly outlet like Breitbart or Newsmax.”
Oh, go figure a Huckabee doesn’t wanna talk to The Gays; go figure that a _____ White House prefers a Breitbart question over The Gays.

Go figure ...
Okay, so now that all the bodies are buried in Las Vegas, the National Rifle Association [NRA] is back, along with spokes-tool, Dana Loesch, to try and get more guns sold and more weapons on the street because, well, coins ... Dana, in a new ad for the NRA says:
"We are witnesses to the most ruthless attack on a president, and the people who voted for him, and the free system that allowed it to happen in American history ... their hateful defiance of his legitimacy is an insult to each of us."
Clearly, Dana Loesch and the NRA must have been out of the country during the eight years of Obama if they think calling this buffoon in the White House a buffoon is ruthless. But Loesch drones on:
"But the ultimate insult is that they think we’re so stupid that we’ll let them get away with it. These saboteurs, slashing away with their leaks and sneers, their phony accusations and gagging sanctimony, drive their daggers through the heart of our future, poisoning our belief that honest custody of our institutions will ever again be possible."
Huh; phony accusations like how a man was allowed to purchase thirty-plus weapons in the course of one year without being noticed; a man who was allowed to turn his weapons into rapid fire machine guns, you know, the better to kill innocent people at a concert.

This is the NRA standing on the bodies of dead Americans, children and adults, not because they want to protect the Second Amendment, which is in no danger of being repealed, but because they want to make more money off selling guns.

They should also see about getting a piece of the casket industry because they have a goal there, too.

Fuck off.
Mark Wahlberg has come out ... not, not like that ... and said that he prays God can forgive him for Boogie Nights:
“I just always hope that God is a movie fan and also forgiving, because I’ve made some poor choices in my past.”
Honey, I’d be less concerned about Boogie Nights and pray more that your God will forgive you for Daddy’s Home and Daddy’s Home 2.
Oh, and since we’re speaking of guns and how enraged we were after the shooting in Las Vegas, here’s a new number for you ....

In the three weeks since the massacre in Las Vegas, the worst mass shooting in modern American history, at least 2,545 people have been shot across America, 772 of them fatally.

But let’s talk about something else ... like how there have been more than 50,000 gun violence incidents in America so far in 2017.
Last week, Louisiana’s Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator blasted the state’s Justice Reinvestment Package—bills that would reduce Louisiana’s prison population by 10 percent and save more than $260 million over the next decade by slowly releasing nonviolent offenders—because he wants to keep the “good” prisoners so they can do manual labor:
“In addition to the bad ones ... they’re releasing some good ones that we use every day to wash cars, to change oil in the cars, to cook in the kitchen, to do all that where we save money. Well, they’re going to let them out ― the ones that we use in work release programs.”
Yes, he suggests keeping the good prisoners so they can cook and clean and toil the fields for free while being locked up at night.

Huh; slavery say what?
This is rich ... according to a poll by NPR, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, a significant majority of white Americans ... WHITE AMERICANS ... feel they are the targets of discrimination.

Yup, 55% of white people surveyed believe discrimination against white people is an ongoing problem.

I got a question for you asshats, you WHITE asshats, who are feeling all discriminated against and shiz ... care to trade places with a black American, Muslim American, female American, gay American, Mexican American?

Don’t answer, that’s a rhetorical question. Now sit down until you can think of something intelligent to add.

God, this is why I hate white people.
Last January, right after Fox News booted Roger Ailes to the curb amid a sexual harassment scandal, the network’s top-rated host ... at that time ... Bill O’Reilly, struck a $32 million agreement with a longtime network analyst to settle new sexual harassment allegation.

Although the deal has not been previously made public, the Fox News’ parent company, 21st Century Fox, was aware of the victim’s complaints against O’Reilly, which included allegations of repeated harassment, a nonconsensual sexual relationship and the sending of gay pornography and other sexually explicit material to her.

This $32 million payout was at least the sixth agreement made by either O’Reilly or Fox News to settle harassment allegations.

And, even after that huge settlement against him, the very next month 21st Century Fox began contract negotiations with O’Reilly, and granted him a four-year extension that paid $25 million a year.

The easier to pay off your lawsuits, I guess.
In other O’Reilly news, the other day the sexual predator sent out this Tweet:
“Sean Hannity kicking serious butt in the ratings. Tapper on CNN as low as you can go.”:
And Tapper, who suffers no fools, especially the sexual predator type, Tweeted back:
“‘Low’ would be sexually harassing staffers and then getting fired for it—humiliated in front of the world. Now THAT would be low.”
Score Tapper!
Some Hot Mens from the TV ... Up top is Terrell Carter, who plays a gay attorney on Empire with a body that can stop time! Oh, and he can saaaang!

On the Bottom left, we have a returning Hottie in Alfonso Herrera, who plays hot Latino priest on The Exorcist. In the Middle is the totally adorable, but sadly straight, Brandon Kee, from this season of Project Runway; and on the Right is one Jason Ritter, who was called quirky cute in this week’s episode of Kevin Probably Saves The World. And quirky cute is a good kind of cute.

Just sayin’.
