I Have Issued A Red Alert To Springfield, Missouri!

Scott Lively will deny he ever had anything to do with the Kill The Gays bill in Uganda, but, well, that would be a lie. It's a lie because most of what comes out of Scott Lively is a lie; and he's at it again.

See, he's got his Homophobic Knickers in a twist because Springfield, Missouri, might pass an anti-discrimination ordinance and, well, that's a bad thing, you know. So, Lively has taken to penning a letter of sorts, a "Christian Red Alert" to warn the citizens that "Springfield is NOT San Francisco. Stop the "Gay Fascism" Bill."

So, I have decided to issue my own "Don't Listen To Scott Lively Red Alert" to the people of Springfield myself, and it goes like this:

"Friends,
The City of Springfield Missouri has announced its intention to "consider" an ordinance to give homosexuals extraordinary new powers to silence and punish Christian landlords and businesses through civil rights lawsuits. 

Um, actually, what it's saying is that you, as a landlord or employer, will not be able to use The Gay Excuse as a means to fire of evict someone.

"Framed as an “anti-discrimination” measure it is in reality a “Gay Fascism” Bill that will make disapproval of homosexuality illegal in the City of Springfield and grant gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders (GLBTs) legal standing to sue their opponents, primarily Christians. 

Um, actually, disapproving of homosexuality is kinda considered Free Speech, so this bill will not stop people from saying they hate The Gays; it will simply protect The Gays from unfair discrimination.

"Starting in the 1980s in cities like San Francisco, homosexuals have forced many U.S. cities and numerous states to adopt similar “Gay Fascism” laws with disastrous effects on Christian landlords and businesses. Empowered by recent successes, they are now pushing into conservative cities. 

Um, actually, homosexuals haven't forced anything upon any city in this country. Even by less-than-modest estimates, The Gays constitute only about 10% of the population, so how we force cities to bend to our will is unknown to anyone with a minimum number of active brain cells. I mean, if we were able to "force" our ideas on the cities in this country, then we should have been able to "force" marriage equality on them as well.

"As soon as a city criminalizes discrimination against homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism through one of these bills, GLBT activists backed by anti-Christian law firms begin targeting people of strong religious faith and traditional values with civil rights lawsuits.

Um, actually, there are many Gay Christians, and even those of us who don't consider ourselves Christians don't wish to deny Christians from pursuing their Christianity. We would, however, like you to keep you Christianity out of the Government, and we'll keep the government out of your faith. Sounds fair, eh?

"Under Vermont’s anti-discrimination law two lesbians sued the Wildflower Inn in 2011 for refusing to host a lesbian “wedding.” Now over a year later the case is still in litigation at great personal and emotional cost to the owners of this family-oriented resort. 

Um, actually, they sued for discrimination because in Vermont that's illegal, and a crime, for both Christians and non-Christians alike. And, if that inn had wanted to save themselves a buttload of cash fighting a law suit, they should have opened their doors to a paying customer.

"In March of this year a Lexington Kentucky T-Shirt printing company called Hands On Originals was fined $6,600 for refusing to print shirts for a local homosexual festival, despite (more likely because of) stating prominently on its home page that it is a “Christian Outfitter,” reserving a “right of refusal” to decline business in conflict with its beliefs.

Um, actually, the owners of Hands On were sued, not because they didn't want to print shirts for The Gays, but because they didn't want to print a shirt that advocated being 'proud' to be gay. And they said they did not want to promote the Pride Festival; um, you're a print shop. Print. And, in fact, Hands On has gay employees, and has, in the past “filled past orders for customers who it knew identified as homosexual.” See, they don't mind taking our money, they just don't want us to be 'proud'.

"E-Harmony, the online Christian dating site was sued in 2008 under one of these “Gay Fascism” laws in New Jersey and "forced" to create a dating site for homosexuals at enormous expense and in a severe compromise of its values.

Um, actually, and again, there are Gay Christians, and why should a Christian dating site deny Gay Christians the right to find some online lovin'?

"At Augusta State University in Georgia, Christian student Jennifer Keeton was expelled in 2010 from the graduate counseling program over her disapproval of homosexuality. In June of 2012 a court ruled that the college’s anti-discrimination policy trumped Keeton’s 1st Amendment religious rights.

Um, actually, Miss Keeton wasn't expelled for her disapproval of homosexuality, she was expelled because she said being gay was wrong and immoral, and that was not in keeping with the educational courses she was required to take. She was also expelled for not taking part in a diversity training program to understand how her views could be considered harmful 

Um, and actually, she has lost her case. Three times.

"These and many other examples of "homo-fascism" are only possible because of anti-discrimination laws based on "sexual orientation" and "gender identity."

Um, actually, the anti-discrimination laws are just to keep people from discriminating against another group of people based on their perceived personage. I mean, I can't discriminate against a Christian, even though my views are different. I can't discriminate against an African-American because we have different skin color. It's simply saying that discrimination is wrong.

"What is worse, much worse, in a strategic political sense is that an “anti-discrimination policy” based on “sexual orientation” is the seed that contains the entire homosexual agenda with all of its poisonous fruit, including “gay” marriage, “gay” adoption, and heavy taxpayer funding of “gay” programs and projects. Wherever the seed takes root, “gay” power and control just keeps growing until it supplants traditional family values with San Francisco-style sexual anarchy in every social and political sphere. 

Um, actually, the Gay Agenda is just equality. Pretty simple. We don't want people to be gay if they aren't just like we don't want5ed to be treated differently because we are gay.

"Last year in the conservative country of Moldova, I led a successful campaign to kill an "anti-discrimination" bill very much like this one. I believe the same strategy can work in a conservative city like Springfield MO. The key is to give up trying to appear "nice" and "reasonable" to the media and get aggressive (not violent) in our posture and rhetoric. 

Um, actually, Scott Lively has violent tendencies and all one needs to do is look at Uganda and Kill The Gays to understand how Scott Lively works.

The Ninth Circuit's California-focused decision presents neither of those circumstances. Unless the Supreme Court breaks with its own tradition and intervenes in the case, it's possible that wedding bells will be ringing in California again before the end of the year."

This speaks to exactly what Radcliffe was saying. Her family is viewed as different than others, as less than a heterosexual couple, simply because she has two dads.
How anyone can say that is the way it should be is completely wrong.

Barack Obama, on the GOP debates:

"I mean has anybody been watching the debates lately? You've got a governor whose state is on fire denying climate change...It's true. You've got audiences cheering at the prospect of somebody dying because they don't have healthcare. And booing a service member in Iraq because they're gay. That's not reflective of who we are."

It seems simple enough, doesn't it?
If you want people executed, or you want people with no healthcare to simply die, or if you have no respect for a gay soldier, then vote GOP.
Vote for the candidates who said nothing as people cheered and booed.
But remember, you get what you deserve.

John Shore, Christian author, on Christians who bully:

No one is asking you to disavow your faith.
We're just asking that you be more open to the possibility that god, if that's what you believe, created all of us.
And, as such, we deserve to be treated equally.

Richard Land, of the Southern Baptist Convention, on DADT ending:

"I think there's a grave concern on the part of the Southern Baptist chaplains that I've talked to in all branches of the service that their First Amendment rights of freedom of speech and freedom of religious free exercise are going to be either extinguished or severely limited in the near future and they're very, very, very concerned. I believe that if we get a Republican president, we're going to hear the senior officers in all of the branches singing a very different tune than the one they're singing now"

Why is these so-called "men of god" think that by allowing gay men and women to serve openly, that Christians will be denied and rights?
You cannot deny rights, when you give everyone equal rights.
And I don't believe we'll ever be a country of Don't Believe, Don't Pray.

Adam Lambert, on being gay:

"I think when I was about sixth grade, that's when I realized that I was probably not the same as the other boys. And, you know, it was a weird discovery and, of course, I was kind of in denial for a while and it was all in my head ... That's one of the things that's so hard about being a young person and realizing you're gay or bi or whatever -- we're not told that that's okay."

Slowly we as a country, as a people, are beginning to realize that gay people are born that way.
And as this news sinks in, and more people understand it, we'll see less intolerance, less bigotry, less bullying.
And that cannot be a bad thing, now can it?

Bob Maginnis, Family Research Council senior fellow, wanting more than just reinstatement of DADT:

"They did not tell the Pentagon that homosexuals have to serve; they just said we're removing this law. So a new president could impose a new regulation or for that matter, Congress could pass a law saying 'we now prohibit the service by people that are known to be homosexual.' That's easily done. Even though it would be the right thing to do, it would take a very courageous future leader to do anything about it."

Courageous? Or pandering to the will of the bigots and homophobes?
And, if you want to ban people from serving, people who are willing to fight and die for their country, then you might want to ask that next president where we'll get our military service-people.

Pam Olsen, Rick Perry's newly-named co-chair of his Florida Presidency 5 campaign leadership team, explaining that natural disasters are God's judgment for tolerance of gay people:

"We are under judgment. Do you know how many of the denominations now are suddenly saying, ‘Oh ok we think it’s ok now to have gay marriage, we think it’s ok to have gay preachers, we think it’s ok.’ Whole denominations! The Episcopalians fell off the planet, they think it’s ok to have gay priests. We’ve got other groups, one of the Presbyterians, they’re looking at voting, we’ve got other ones, they’re all of the sudden going, ‘Oh in the name of tolerance,’ and they’re forgetting God’s word completely in whole denominations....And God is shaking. If anybody looks at the news and has just seen what’s been happening recently with the floods, the fires, the tornadoes, God is shaking....But the reality is God is judging us, and I think it’s going to get worse."

That's funny, Pam, because I was thinking that floods and fires and hurricanes and tornadoes and people like you are God's punishment for people being homophobic.

Scott Lively, "Pink Swastika" author, on the scourge that is the LGBT community:

Funny, I think going to a foreign country and working silently to see that people are killed or being gay is more of an insidious and contagious perversion.
Scott Lively wants gay people dead. Not just unable to marry, or unable to find housing, or unable to keep a job.

Tony Perkins, FRC head bigot, on Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the only Republican sponsor on a bill to end DOMA:
"Never a big fan of family issues, Florida Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R) has joined the dark side by becoming the first Republican to co-sponsor bills that boost counterfeit marriage while effectively closing down most Christian adoption services. Last week, Ros-Lehtinen became the only Republican sponsor on a bill that seeks to overturn the bipartisan Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). This new legislation's ultimate target is to overturn the state laws and 42 state constitutional amendments in by redefining marriage at the federal level. Is the Republican Party ready to be turned into a party that sacrifices religious liberty on the altar of unrestrained sexual license?"

Or, is the Republican party the party to set aside hatred intolerance, bigotry and bullying, and focus on the ills of this country, like say, oh, maybe the economy, or those pesky wars, or the environment, or the ever-widening gulf between the classes?
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen deserves praise for having the balls to stand up to the GOP for what's right.

Scott Lively: Hater, Homophobe, Proponent of Kill The Gays

Watch this, if you can, and if it doesn't sicken you how this man can use his hatred against LGBT people so smugly, then you have a stronger stomach than I:

Scott Lively says his brother and sister "went into"homosexuality. Well, Scott, one does not "go into" homosexuality; one is, or one isn't, gay. I "go into" Kroger to do my groceries, I didn't go "go into" homosexuality. In saying that you are promoting the false idea that being gay is a choice when all the evidence clearly states that it is not.

People are born gay. People are born straight. People choose to hate.

Scott Lively believes his "normal" sister "wasn't able" to marry because she was so hurt by her siblings being gay. So, he lays the blame for other people's inability to find love at the feet of the LGBT community.

He says LGBT people do not fall into a pattern of "gender normalcy" and that we don't use our bodies [he is mostly talking about gay men here] in the ways they were intended, and so we reap the punishment: AIDS. He's reiterating the myth that AIDS is punishment for being gay, and yet he has no explanation for anyone who has AIDS who is not gay.

Scott Lively says we use fear to keep those men and women struggling with their sexual orientation in our midst. We tell them that everyone else is a hater so they won't leave homosexuality--once again, one does not enter into, or leave, being gay. Well, people who struggle with being gay, who feel ashamed of being gay, do so because of men like Scott Lively who are constantly calling us pedophiles and rapists. if you are struggling with coming out and you are subjected to the ramblings of people like Lively, that's where the feelings of self-loathing lie, in the narrowminded hate that Scott Lively spreads.

But then he says he doesn't hate because he's a Christian, and Christians love everybody. Yet he goes to Uganda and calls the LGBT community a bunch of rapists and pedophiles and murderers and "jackbooted thugs." Doesn't sound very Christian to me. He says gay men were the "core of the Nazi party." He says gay men are "so far from normalcy" that we become sociopaths and murderers. In fact, he lays the blame for the mass murders in Rwanda at the feet of the LGBT community.

And lastly, Scott Lively, we don't call all people who are not gay, haters and homophobes. I have many friends, and family, who are not gay, and they don't hate; and they aren't homophobes. I call people who stand behind their cross and their Bible and misspeak the word of God to spread the notion that somehow gay men and women are an abomination and need to be "fixed" or "changed' or "killed" haters and homophobes

So, let me ask you, if a man stands up and calls another man a pedophile, a rapist, a murderer, a degenerate, a Nazi, simply because of that man's sexual orientation, is that homophobia? If you travel to a Third World country and tell them that there are men who will rape their sons, murder their sons, give AIDS to their sons, is that hate? If a man stands up and proudly announces that he's dropped a nuclear bomb on the LGBT community, isn't that hate?

Scott lively calls himself an expert on homosexuality.

I say he's an expert on spreading hate and homophobia.

I say he has some explaining to do.
