THE BASEMENT

Welcome to THE BASEMENT! The BASEMENT is the place for those who wish to post albums from their collections.

The RULES:
1. To post, use the Comment box of the BASEMENT. As much as possible, post blues albums only. Spam is not allowed. Posts which we deem incomplete or malicious will be removed.
2. Before posting, check our Labels section if the album has already been posted. If the links to a posted album have lapsed, then you may re-post the album here. Otherwise, your post will be removed and your effort will be wasted.
3. Tags should be complete (Track #, Artist, Album Title, Track Name).
4. Your post should have the following:

* Artist Name - Album Title / Year / Format (mp3, WMA, FLAC, Lossless, etc) / Bitrate / Album Art (if included). [note: Not a strict sequence; the fields are interchangeable]
* Download Link
* If you wish to include a review/notes, please do so. It would be thoughtful if you give credit to the source of the album you are posting but this is not mandatory.
* Your Name/Nick/AKA.

5. You may post as many albums as you wish per comment entry.
6. Check your post details one final time before posting.

Do not use the Cbox for posting your shares. You may however post a message in the Cbox announcing your posts here in the BASEMENT (examples: "Rare Muddy Waters in the Basement" or "Latest BB King in the Basement" or "5 fresh albums posted today in the Basement."). Your posts will remain for as long as the BASEMENT is active. The obvious advantage of posting here is that it will stay here as long as the BASEMENT is here versus posting in the Cbox where you'd be lucky if it doesn't fall off after a few days.

We prefer that you post your request here where the chances of it getting filled are much better than in the Cbox. If you wish to express your gratitude for a post, address it specifically to the poster and include the artist/album he posted.

Posting here in the BASEMENT does not give the album posting exclusivity. Any of us, at our discretion may post in our regular posting section our own copy/s of the album/s you posted.

THANK YOU for being an active member of the blues community.

Alright, dudes and dudettes, POST AWAY!

Notes:
1. We have not found a way to reverse the order of the comments. The few that we found from google searches were mostly for wordpress or were for blogger blogs that were coded somewhat differently. We understand that as your posts increase, it will eventually be a pain (maybe it is already) to scroll all the way down just to see the latest entries. If you come across a site where they show a way to reverse the order of comment entries, please let us know. Or a blogger blog whose comments are in reverse order already...
2. And here's another situation that will eventually be an issue (maybe it is already). On AC's main posting area, posts are easily labelled. In comments, there is no such feature so that unless you check all the entries, a tedious activity, there's no easy way to find out if what you are about to post has already been posted by another poster.

3 Put It All There - Willie Dixon
4 Born To Love Me - Willie Dixon
5 I Love You Baby - Jimmy Reed
6 Bright Lights, Big City - Jimmy Reed
7 Baby, What's On Your Mind - Jimmy Reed
8 Don't Let That Music Die - Willie Dixon
9 Shame, Shame, Shame - Jimmy Reed
10 Honest I Do - Jimmy Reed
11 Baby, Whatcha Want Me to Do - Jimmy Reed

MUSICIANS

Matt Murphy - (Lead Guitar)
Mighty Joe Young (Second Guitar)
Willie Dixon, Sylvester Bowen (Bass)
Lafayette Leake, Sunnyland Slim (Piano)
Morris Jennings (Drums)
Walter "Shakey"Horton (Harmonica)
The Pick-Ups - Backing Vocals

"Born To Love Me" is a good electric blues album credited to an obscure blues vocalist called Jimmy Reeves Jr. However, the main musicians on this album were Matt Murphy and the late Mighty Joe Young on guitars, the late Willie Dixon, and Sylvester Bowen on bass, the late Lafayette Leake and the late Sunnyland Slim on piano, Morris Jennings on drums, and the late Walter "Shakey"Horton on harmonica. Jimmy Reeves' vocals could be stronger, but the backing musicians are legendary. There are 4 Willie Dixon covers, and 6 Jimmy Reed covers, making the album a worthwhile listen. There is some info on Jimmy Reeves Jr. on the album sleeve notes.

In 1960, he moved to Los Angeles, California and retired from performing for some years. He resumed again in the 1970s.

@daba: Jimmy Reeves Jr Chess CD
https://mega.nz/file/7Ng0iZqB#2R63rP1G-zy_AdwQUsfnIOhUm3aIjya2fCdt1L-QQWo
This Jimmy Reeves Jr attended at most of the Jimmy Reed gigs and was always asking to jam with the band. He performed under the name of Jimmy Reed Jr making very angry the true Jimmy Reed's son who was also named Jimmy Reed Jr (and who accompanied his father on gigs and on records). It seems that even a lawsuit was engaged against the wrong Reed Jr who then took the moniker Reeves Jr! This very Chess LP was the idea of Willie Dixon who, at that time, was looking for as much Juniors he could find (Wolf, Muddy...)and try to sell!

Skinny Williams & Erwin Helfer – St. James Infirmary

Label: The Sirens Records – SR-5006

Genre: Blues

Tracklist:
1 St. James Infirmary 5:06
2 Trouble In Mind 3:54
3 These Foolish Things 4:42
4 Ain't Misbehavin' 3:56
5 Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out 4:04
6 Please Send Me Someone To Love 5:20
7 Five Foot Two, Eyes Of Blue 2:51

11 Pooch Piddle 4:56
12 See See Rider 4:37
13 Stormy Weather 4:37
14 Back At The Chicken Shack 4:22

Skinny Williams follows a long tradition of great Chicago tenor saxophonists, from Gene Ammons to Von Freeman, whose playing is steeped in a blues, soul, and jazz gumbo. Erwin Helfer is a master Chicago blues and jazz pianist, with a longstanding, traditional Chicago style. Together, Skinny and Erwin play blues, jazz standards, and ballads. Their interpretations of 'St. James Infirmary', 'Trouble In Mind', 'These Foolish Things Remind Me of You', 'Nobody Knows You When You Are Down And Out', and 'Please Send Me Someone To Love' are incredibly sweet yet sorrowful at the same time. Their versions of Waller's classics 'Ain't Misbehavin' and 'Honeysuckle Rose' are innovative and still true to the stride style. Skinny even does some honking on 'Pooch Piddle' and 'Back at the Chicken Shack'. This CD will delight both blues and jazz fans. It sounds as if Skinny and Erwin are performing a club date right in your living room.

Robert Connely Farr - 2023 Pandora Sessions

Genre: Electric Blues, Blues Rock
Quality: FLAC
Total Time: 37:59
Total Size: 214 MB

Tracklist:
1. How Am I (3:43)
2. Everybody's Dyin (2:30)
3. Prowler (3:29)
4. Runnin Hidin Jam (3:18)
5. Jackson Town (2:45)
6. Gettin Tired Of Gettin Old (3:16)
7. Things They Tellin You (3:32)
8. Night Train (3:18)
9. Take It Slow (3:22)
10. Where I Come From (2:17)
11. Train Keep Rollin (4:31)
12. Oh Lord (1:53)

“This album is dedicated to the great Mississippi Big Blues Mane — RL Boyce, a friend and mentor,” says Vancouver singer-guitarist Robert Connely Farr. “He recently passed away after a bout with cancer. May he rest in peace.
“These sessions were modeled after our time down in Bentonia playing with Jimmy “Duck” Holmes and RL Boyce — you set up, start playing and the songs come. Sure, there’s covers and traditionals, but the magical part of those nights are the grooves that show up that weren’t written yet. That’s what this album is, all unwritten / unrehearsed material that originated from us just sitting down to play. We are very interested in capturing the song at its point of origin.

“We didn’t have much, just some vintage mics / amps — we did the best we could with what we had at the time. This ain’t no big time studio / record label / lots of money kind of album. This is a show up at the juke joint, plug the f^*k in & get to work kind of album.

Happy Birthday in Heaven!
Ellas Otha Bates, known professionally as Bo Diddley, was an American guitarist and singer who played a key role in the transition from the blues to rock and roll.
Born: December 30, 1928, McComb, Mississippi, United States
Died: June 2, 2008, Archer, Florida, United States

Bo Diddley - 1970 - The Black Gladiator
In Flac - Scans are included

A1 Elephant Man 4:28
A2 You, Bo Diddley 3:30
A3 Black Soul 2:47
A4 Power House 2:50
A5 If The Bible's Right 3:08
B1 I've Got A Feeling 2:46
B2 Shut Up, Woman 3:40
B3 Hot Buttered Blues 3:44
B4 Funky Fly 2:55
B5 I Don't Like You 3:10

"Black Gladiator" is a great compilation of dynamic music from Bo's funky later work. The beats in several cuts, most notably "I Don't Like You", "The Funky Fly" and "I've Got a Feeling" are among the best he ever created. Bo's guitar playing on "I've Got a Feeling" is what Chuck Berry must have been talking about when he said that Johnny B. Goode could play a guitar "just like ringing a bell". Great album which anyone interested in rhythm and guitar should have.

Swiss Movement is a soul jazz live album recorded on June 21, 1969 at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland by the Les McCann trio, with saxophonist Eddie Harris and trumpeter Benny Bailey. The album was a hit record, as was the accompanying single "Compared to What", with both selling millions of units.

The album was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of best jazz performance, small group. It reached No. 1 on Billboard's jazz album chart, No. 2 on the R&B chart, and No. 29 on the LP chart.

A Billboard writer commented in 2006 that "what put Montreux on the recorded-live-in-concert map was the legendary Swiss Movement album". Writing in AllMusic, Richie Unterberger calls Swiss Movement "one of the most popular soul jazz albums of all time, and one of the best."

The tapes of this impromptu concert were originally recorded by the festival's organisers and then passed on to Atlantic, who decided to release them after paying a fee of less than 100 dollars.

McCann and Harris teamed up again for a follow-up recording, Second Movement, released in 1971.

If you’re a fan of guitars, Albert Lee is a name your certain to know. He came to prominence with his first band, Heads, Hands and Feet in the 1960s. After a few albums on Capitol, Albert toured extensively with The Crickets, The Everly Brothers, Emmylou Harris and with guitar superstar Eric Clapton. When he’s not playing on the Concert For George or Crossroads, Albert fronts his own touring band, Hogan’s Heros. He has several CDs on Sugarhill records and numerous instructional videos on WB and other labels. His unique style is a continuing source of inspiration for upcoming guitarists…no matter what the style.

We recorded this project several years ago and intended to make it available as one of our Collector’s Edition titles, but abandoned that product in favor of the Blu-ray version. This disc still features a large number of bonus features but is all about the amazing playing of this unique artist. It won Record of the Month in November of 2012 in Stereophile.

Rod Price – West Four

Label: Trillium Records (3) – TRS-001
Format: CD, Album
Country: US
Released: Oct 14, 2003
Genre: Rock
Style: Blues Rock

Tracklist:
1 West Four
2 My Heart Struck Sorrow
3 Somethin' Else
4 I Know
5 Straight Laced Breakdown
6 Legally Blind
7 Duster's Prayer
8 I Love Your Truth
9 Standing On Holy Ground
10 Oceans Of Time
11 Chicago Suite
12 China White

Rod Price has created a mature, blues harmony, Church revival of a CD that bristles with energy and thickens the pot of soul stew. Mr. Price lays his guitar on the alter of blues heavan and conjures up some of the best, melodic, harmonious music to date. The imprimature of Rod's slide guitar and Dobro sound is in rich supply on this CD and is very tasty. I'm convinced that somewhere in rock n roll/blues heaven that Lonesome Dave is smiling and tapping his feet to the undeniable beat of his lead guitarist who now strumms the strings of a blues sound pure and true. An instant classic. A must have CD.

Bunch of Foghat 1989 - 2023 [FLAC] 9.83GB

link below ~ good for 7 day's or maybe 30 minutes!

First time for me on this service I did download it as a dummy run and it came in at decent speed.

Please give me some feedback if it's not too much to ask.

I will be seeing the amount of downloads this gets. It's less effort for you to download than it is for me to upload. I really would like that feedback this time. Thank you for reading.
