This debut original album has the perfect mixture of pure blues, rockabilly, heartfelt ballads and driving shuffles; something for everyone here. This songwriter can write. She fills the empty parts of your heart and gets you up moving.
Trust Your Right Hand Man was a song written for the late and great Geno Minasi. It’s about trusting God in all situations. Geno had a strong faith and used his gifts to make people happy. He was a great inspiration to all of us. He told me and many others to keep writing, singing and playing right from the heart. I wrote A Woman’s Heart is Fragile in its entirety in one night when my heart just had a lot to say. Honey Don’t Walk Out That Door is a sweet love song. It was the first song I ever wrote. Just Go Away was also written quite a few years ago and it has a story that a lot of women will relate to. Lock, Stock and Barrel, You’ve Got Just What It Takes, Grown Up Play Day, and That Good Man of Mine were all written for my husband, Rick, who means so much to me. Grown Up Play Day started with a wonderful fingerpick Mike created and Cliff had some good ideas and played quite a few instruments to get that sweet, happy sound. My Mother insisted I put it on the CD. Someday Baby started with a simple comment from Mike which prompted me to say we could write a blues song with that idea and we worked on it together. I worked on the lyrics and some of the melody and Mike worked on the music. When I Saw You There began when the title came into my mind and wouldn’t leave so I just wrote a story about it and the melody and chords just came. But the song needed something special. Cliff came up with some great ideas and we ran with them. I wrote That Good Man of Mine when we had already finished recording all the other songs. Better late than never!
