Cult favorite Chili Cold Blood now has many albums and countless shows under their belts. Their signature, evolving style of BLACK & BLUES has earned them awards shows, magazine features, overseas performances, music festivals, and television soundtracks.
After several progressively elaborate albums, Chili Cold Blood decided to pare it down and take a minimalist "live" approach to recording, with one track each of guitar, steel guitar, drums, and vocals.
One stormy winter weekend, they went to a cabin in the Texas hill country and spent the weekend recording music that was true to the hearts of the band. It was an exercise in minimalism, with each band member filling up as much sonic space as they could, while playing off of what the others were doing. This album documents the camaraderie of three longtime friends and bandmates having a great time making music together.
The results are both an homage to where Chili Cold Blood came from, and a continuing exploration of the eclectic music that inspires them.
