Keith Bennett and Rick Bockner have performed together on a number of recordings and tours throughout Canada.
Think For Yourself is a collection of blues tunes, from the raw emotion of the Mississippi Delta to the sophisticated ballads of Duke Ellington plus some original songs.
North Vancouver’s Keith Bennett is a veteran singer and instrumentalist who has played the top venues in the lower mainland. You may have seen Keith at the DuMaurier Jazz Festival, the Vancouver East Cultural Center, the Arts Club of Vancouver, the Pan Pacific or the Shaw Theater in Deep Cove. His melodious harmonica playing has been featured with the prestigious Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the TV series McGyver and Lonesome Dove. Keith produced a CD ‘Tin Sandwich’ featuring original music with a Jazz, Latin, Blues genre. As one of Canada’s best harmonica players, Keith has recently become one of 5 Canadian musicians to be sponsored by the worlds largest producer of harmonicas, Hohner Inc. of Germany. On the lighter side Keith has been seen at the local home games of the Vancouver Canucks as the ‘Harmonica Man’ and performs regularly as Elwood of the 15 piece ‘Blues Brothers Review’. Keith had a starring role in the ’96 production of Carol King’s Tapestry at the Arts Club Theater of Vancouver running for a record 5 months from May to Sept. The original cast also toured B.C. Keith has produced subsequent corporate events using the Tapestry cast. Harmonica, drum, guitar and vocal workshops are another interest for Keith. He has taught vocals, and harmonica at the Georgia Strait Guitar Workshop, Puget Sound Guitar Workshop and the Island Mountain Arts festival in Barkerville. He has developed harmonica workshops which the North Shore’s Continuing Education have included in their programs. He teaches vocals / harmonica / guitar in his N. Van. Paradox Studios.
