I knew Robert had been a member of the "Keystone Rhythm Band" which was fronted by Billy Price (of Soul and R&B renown) but had lost track of him after they had gone their separate ways. When I listened to and enjoyed a track he had on an anthology album I picked up at the annual Pittsburgh Blues Festival this summer, I had to "Google" him and discovered this album. In the process I learned that besides playing bass with the aforementioned KRB, Robert earned his chops as an original member of the "Jaggerz" and with the "Skyliners" (Since I Don't Have You), both Pittsburgh based groups of more than a little note. His extensive experience with successful bands and groups very much shows on both this album and "Stirrin' Up Bees". The best tracks on both albums are great and the lesser ones are very good. Both albums are loaded with songs to please both blues and soul fans. ~William G. Delmer
