From New Orleans-style funk to soul and rhythm & blues, Wressnig’s percussive and greasy Hammond sounds conjure dynamic, high-voltage music. Old-school and new-school rendezvous in his style and his sound combines an authentic soul & blues vibe and a “lowdown” feel with a contemporary funk edge for a unique listening experience. Together with the Brazilian guitar master Igor Prado he shows the bright potential of soul, blues and funk in a modern world and will give the audience a new way to experience these old genres. Raphael Wressnig - Hammond B3 organ Igor Prado - guitars Yuri Prado - drums & percussion Quotes: „Oh yes, Raphael plays a dynamic brand of B-3, his passion commensurate with his technique and his creative intelligence. He's a high-voltage dynamo but also a musician of surprising delicacy and self-reflection.

Austria's funkiest B3 Hammond organ specialist returns with his new album "CHICKEN BURRITO". In collaboration with his longtime partner in crime ALEX SCHULTZ and the R&B drummer legend JAMES GADSON, Raphael now proudly presents a splendid, well danceable Funk & Groove album. In contrast to the soulful predecessors SOUL CONNECTION, SOUL GUMBO and SOUL GIFT, CHICKEN BURRITO is reduced to the essentials, and with only a few exceptions, it contains almost no vocals. By the way, for the first time in his career Raphael himself contributed these few vocals. JAMES GADSON , the previously mentioned drummer, is one of the most recorded drummers in Rhythm & Blues history, and has been a session musician for Bill Withers, Freddie King, Martha Reeves, Randy Crawford, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, BB King, Albert King, Paul McCartney and many, many more.

Raphael Wressnig, based in Austria but frequently on the road, is not your ordinary B-3 organ player. He’s actually one of a kind: a young master of the imposing, large instrument who is expansive in his breadth of expertise. He’s technically fluent in the blues, in jazz, in soul, and in funk, and he concocts exciting mixed-genre music from his fervid imagination. Versatile Wressnig doesn’t flaunt his virtuosic talent for the sake of spectacle but rather backs up his every movement on the keyboards, the drawbar and the bass pedal boards with a fierce emotional commitment.

Influenced by royal predecessors like Jimmy Smith, Shirley Scott, Booker T. Jones and Joe Zawinul, Wressnig has taken his music around the world: the entire European Union, Russia, the Middle East, Asia, parts of Africa, the Caribbean, North and South America. This self-effacing musician, a native of Graz in southeast Austria, has recorded at least 20 feature albums and appeared as a guest on about 50 others. He has grabbed the attention of an international claque of critics and has been honored with a nomination as "Best Organ Player of the Year" at the DownBeat Critics Poll in 2013, 2015 & 2016.

11. Don't Cry No More (2:42)
12. Heartbreak (3:38)
13. Why Don't You Haul Off And Love Me (3:34)

Raphael Wressnig can be easily entitled an ingenious Global Magician Hammond Player! He is permanently touring as often as possible with various musical mates on all continents and his last cd-opus was “Soul Gumbo” which he recorded in 2014 with jam friends like Stanton Moore, Alex Schultz, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, George Porter Jr., Larry Garner, Jon Cleary, in the Music Shed Studios in New Orleans. He’s a permanent creative and hard-working guy. As he loves to travel his journey took him latest to cultural and musically miscellaneous Brazil to São Paulo to liaise with renowned guitarist Igor Prado. In 2016 here it is their new highlight masterpiece “The Soul Connection”!

“Trying To Live My Life Without You Baby” as opener is a soulful blues with a buckshot of Motown funk. You will immediately feel positive vibrations if your day has gone wrong and be motivated to dance with your beloved to feel good again after coming home. The guitar solos of Igor remind by style of the unforgettable King Of The Blues and his Lucille. Wee Willie Walker seduces by his sweet, lovingly lead-voice. Raphael provides by his key-solos a sweeping, harmonious sound-floor. “Young Girl” is a rockin’ Chicago blues and Hammond-Dervish Wressnig plays his big “TrickOr Treats”. The jam-duets of Igor and him are just stunning. As the cold winter nights are nearing “Suffering With The Blues” is a beautiful ballad to enjoy a joyful and loveable evening with your baby at a romantic warm place by candlelight. By “No-La-Fun-Ky” Raphael spices his blues-gumbo with some funk-jazz. A very experimental, groovy peak. “Turnip Greens” has a sixties flavor featuring dynamic rhythms, six-string therapies the Memphis vein and the lord of the keys explodes by his solos the wild style. A culmination song where RW continues the legacy of heavenly Jon Lord. “My Love Is” has a sing-along west-coast flair. The musicals bosses prove how diversified their virtuoso play-grounds can be by “The Face Slap Swing Nr. 5“. A jazzy swingin’ blues reminding of the good ole’ Al Capone times. “Don’t Cry No More” is a hooky stomper the ”Let The Good Times Stroll” tradition. Bourbon meets Beale Street and the parties conglomerate the hellish hot ceremonies style. By “Don’t Cry Me No More” & “Heartbreak” Wee Willie’s voice, Igor’s guitar-artistry and Raphael’s organ-sorcery is a proverbial jam-firework. Mister Walker is hell of a stunning, powerful singer! “Why Don T You Haul Off And Love Me One More Time” is the grand final blues’n roll southern-hymn.

Enrico Crivellaro - 2 albums: Mosquito Bite (With Raphael Wressnig) / Freewheelin'

In his quest to refine a guitar style that he developed in his teen years, Enrico flew to Connecticut to study with blues masters of the caliber of Ronnie Earl, Duke Robillard, Roy Bookbinder and Kenny Neal at the National Guitar Workshop. Some years later, while a student at the University of California, he embarked on a journey to the very essence of American music thanks to the courses taught by the director of the Jazz Department, guitar legend Kenny Burrell. Learning jazz from one of the men who invented it was a life-changing experience, which could only reinforce his already developed mindset of digging deeper and looking far beyond notes, scales, chords, where music becomes meaningful.

He was always aware that books and lectures do not make a musician. After all, music is akin to an oral tradition, which is passed on from a generation to the next. The road and some sleazy club at 2am is where it's at, where everything comes together, where those notes finally make sense, where the old cats show how it's done. And that's exactly where Enrico could be found most of the time--whether in California, in Mississippi or in Chicago.
