In the old quarter of Stockholm there was a restaurant called Kaos in the 1990s. Its owner Parvin Bhachu was a lover of the blues and regularly scheduled concerts in this venue. One of the regular musicians in the restaurant was the drummer Anders Almberg who every Wednesday was together with the pianist Ulf Sandström and the saxophonist Bo Gustafsson. They were joined by the double bassist Anders Thomasson, which led to the creation of the group The Deputies, who were musically oriented towards country, rockabilly and blues. Due to professional commitments and for some time Ulf and Bo were not available to play, so Anders Almberg invited two of his most admired guitarists from the Swedish blues scene of the time, Jyrki Juvonen and Sven Zetterberg, to play with them.
Those sessions were truly memorable and we are lucky that several of them were collected on cassette. Fortunately, the Swedish Blues Association, in collaboration with the historic Swedish magazine Jefferson Magazine, have recovered and remastered one of these tapes, specifically the one from the session on March 25, 1992, publishing an album with seven of those songs that faithfully capture the magnificent blues that was performed in that restaurant to the delight and enjoyment of all blues fans. If you're a fan of the Hollywood Fats Band, then you're going to love this album.
