Our fifth album was recorded in 2017 in Daft Studios in Malmedy, Belgium and The Gorio Hills in Belgium. The album was produced by Mario Goossens (of Triggerfinger fame). The title Revelation also refers to the unveiling of the brand-new sound we were looking for and have achieved working with our producer.

The Damned and Dirty is one of the most exciting and innovative acts in the roots tradition. Listening to the songs and quality lyrics you will be impressed and think you ended up in a venue or at a festival in the south of the USA listening to one of the best American bands. Their English is American like it belongs there. See them as a duo and you’ll get raw nerves and beautiful little sonic landscapes. They rock, they roar: screaming guitar, wailing blues harp and organ, and vocals that cut you like a knife.

This is a fabulous album of mostly resonator-fuelled acoustic roots and blues from a duet that is fast marking out its territory at the top of the European blues-music feeding chain.
From the Netherlands, The Damned and Dirty is a couple of top-quality Dutch musicians featuring Micha Sprenger on guitar and Kevin De Harde on Harp; both share vocals and writing credits for the dozen songs that make up this excellent release.

Guitarist Sprenger is easily one of Europe's finest younger pickers and De Harde is equally talented, blowing his soulful, blues-heart out here. This pair are very fast becoming central to the European blues-scene, representing their homeland on a now annual - it seems - basis in the open blues challenge in Europe to select a band for the January, Memphis International Blues Challenge awards.

It's hard, of course, to listen to this combination of players without thinking about Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, the US masters who single-handedly made this same guitar/harp duo-format very much their own with a lasting stamp on the groove and growth of the music. But, despite this potential burden, The Damned and Dirty succeed in stamping their own style and brand on the twelve tracks in the mix. This is a pair of musicians clearly enjoying the life, producing absolutely winning music with a confidence and ease that shines with each new offering.
'Hoodoo Down' is simply a great album. Catch this one, don't let it slip away. ~by Iain Patience

The Damned and Dirty is one of the most exciting and innovative duos in the blues tradition. Gritty delta blues with screaming slide guitar, raw vocals and wailing blues harp.

What started out as a side project of Kevin de Harde and Micha Sprenger grew bigger fast after their first release titled The Damned and Dirty in 2012. Many live performances followed and in 2013 they released their second album Sell Your Soul. The biggest compliment came when they won the Dutch Blues Award for Best Album of 2012. Their second album received the same award for 2013! The two write the songs themselves and are currently working on their third album. They perform regularly in The Netherlands and are planning several international tours.

[2:44] 10. Family Blues
[2:11] 11. Country Shizzle
[2:51] 12. Little Black Book
[2:07] 13. Soliloquy

September 2012 saw the release of the first The Damned and Dirty album. That album was made available for free and was quickly picked up by national and international press and blues fans. It was met with raving reviews and hailed as a must-have for acoustic blues lovers.

What started out as a side project of Kevin de Harde and Micha Sprenger – also both members of BluesMotel – grew bigger and bigger. Live performances followed, including a gig in Paradiso as a support act for Ruben Hoeke. The biggest compliment came when the band won the Dutch Blues Award for Best Album in April 2013. Not bad for ‘just’ a side project.

So how do you deal with all the accolades you receive for your first album? Simple. You go back into the studio and start working on a second album with the intention to make it an even better one than the first. The result13 cracking tracks with crying slide guitar, howling vocals and dirty blues harp. Although the main focus is still acoustic Delta Blues, the musical spectrum is broader than found on the first release. We've even thrown in some acoustic jazz!

Guitarist Micha Sprenger is a Music Teacher graduate from the High School of Performing Arts in Rotterdam. He works and lives in Amsterdam. As well as being a guitarist and songwriter Micha also teaches music and guitar.

Vocalist and harmonicist Kevin de Harde has seen almost every Dutch blues club inside and out and has shared the stage with countless blues artists. He delivers gutsy vocals, thought provoking lyrics and a blues harp style to melt the most cynical heart.
