“Too Much to Pay” is the fourth album by harmonica player John Clifton, which features 10 original songs inspired by Chicago blues, West Coast blues, soul, and classic rhythm and blues. The album was recorded in Warsaw, Poland, in August 2023, while Clifton was on his European tour.

He is backed by the Polish band The Boogie Boys, who generally accompanies him on his visits to the old continent, which is why the camaraderie and knowledge of the harmonica player's work and style are very noticeable. The Boogie Boys is made up of Bartek Szopinkti on keyboards (who shows his class in some songs in which he duels with John Clifton's harmonica), Milosz Szulkowski on drums, Piotr Bienkiewicz on guitar and Janusz Brzenzinski on bass.

John Clifton is one of the most sought-after harmonica players and singers in the central California area, frequently invited on stage by Rod Piazza, John Mayall and Huey Lewis among others. He was the leader of the group The Mo-Fo Party Band and seven years ago he began his solo career, debuting in 2015 with the album “Let Yourself Go.” During the pandemic, Clifton dedicated himself to writing new songs and tried to record, but heart disease led him to stop his project.

In 2022, now recovered, he went on tour again and saw the opportunity to record “Too Much to Pay” with the Polish band The Boogie Boys, for whom he produced the album “Made in Cali” in 2013, winner of Best Album at the Polish Blues Awards. With style and skill on the level of Kim Wilson and Rod Piazza, John Clifton has always remained true to his own voice and identity and never set out to be a copy of any of his musical heroes, staying away from the typical clichés and novelties.

Ever since releasing his debut, Thank You Baby, on Enigma in 1983, James Harman kept the sound of classic electric blues alive. Harman grounded his sound in Chess - there were distinct echoes of Little Walter and Sonny Boy Williamson - and his bands often incubated new talents, including future Blaster Phil Alvin plus guitarists Hollywood Fats, Gene Taylor, and Kid Ramos. As such, Harman didn't break into the mainstream - he did land a song in a pivotal scene in the Academy Award-winning 1988 film The Accused - but he racked up W.C. Handy Awards as he kept touring and recording into the 2020s.

Born in Anniston, Alabama on June 8, 1946, Harman began playing piano at the age of four. He soon discovered his father's harmonicas in the family's piano bench, so he taught himself how to play the harp, then picked up the guitar and drums. Soon, he discovered the blues and began playing with local blues guitarist Radio Johnson. At the age of 16, he moved to Panama City, Florida, and started playing in local blues and R&B bands, winding up in the Icehouse Blues Band. He signed a management deal with Earl Caldwell, who also managed the Swingin' Medallions, who helped shop singles to various local Florida imprints. None of these went anywhere, so he spent some time in New York, Miami, New Orleans, and Chicago before landing in Southern California in the 1970s.

After battling health problems, he continued to lead a lineup of the Icehouse Blues Band, which eventually evolved into the James Harman Band in 1977. The James Harman Band featured a number of prominent players, particularly in its earliest years when it featured Phil Alvin and Bill Bateman, who left the group to form the Blasters. Harman built up enough of a following to sign with Enigma in 1983, releasing Thank You Baby as his debut. Rhino issued Those Dangerous Gentlemen in 1987, which was followed by Extra Napkins in 1988. After Rivera released Strictly Live... In 85! in 1990, he moved to Black Top and stayed there through the '90s, releasing four albums for the label.

Cannonball put out two records at the end of the '90s - Takin' Chances in 1998 and Mo' Na'Kins, Please! in 1999 - and he moved to Gulf Coast for Lonesome Moon Trance in 2003. Harman was quiet on the recording front during the remainder of the 2000s - although he did cameo on two ZZ Top albums, contributing to 2003's Mescalero and 2012's La Futura - returning in 2015 with Bonetime on the Electro-Fi imprint. Born and raised in New York City, Adam Schultz is a jazz and blues guitarist, fusing the two genres in his own unique style. Growing up in the Big Apple has exposed Adam to some incredible teachers. As an avid participant in his high school music program, Adam was nurtured by the same four music teachers for over six years. He took two weekly guitar lessons and participated in the Avenues Jazz Band. By the time Schultz was 14, he was playing onstage with prominent musicians. Clarence Spady, an award winning blues musician, took him under his wing and let Schultz guest at his regular Terra Blues gigs in New York City. Danny Schultz (a relative), who stepped in to fill Jerry Garcia’s shoes for several years in the JGB Band after Garcia died, played ten shows with Adam over the summers of 2016 – 2018. Over the past four years Clarence has mentored Adam and they have developed a special bond. Spady, a two time Blues Music Awards nominee, took notice of Schultz when he was 14 and has been a huge influence ever since. As Spady states, “The kid could really play and had the whole package. I felt like I was listening to myself when I was 15. One night at a gig four years ago, Douglas Schultz approached me and asked if I would give his 14 year old a lesson. I ended up giving Adam a lesson and was so impressed I invited him to sit in with me that night at Terra Blues in New York City.” In 2019, Adam was selected to be the guitar player in the jazz band for the NYC High School Honors Music Festival. He was selected again in 2020 but the Festival was cancelled due to the pandemic. Schultz released his debut CD, Soulful Distancing, July 16th, 2021 on the Blue Heart Records label. Schultz’s debut CD is a collection of eleven tracks including five Schultz originals. In addition to Spady, other artists include Adam Cohen on bass (Ray Charles, Engelbert Humperdinck), Robert O’Connell on keyboards, Sharon O’Connell on drums, Tom Hamilton on sax (Dizzy Gillespie, The Temptations), and Scott Brown on piano. Ekat Pereyra adds sparkling vocals to the track “Have Some Faith” and Michael Angelo sings Adam’s other four originals. Jon Ventre plays bass on two songs and Pat Marcinko adds percussion. Preceding Adam’s release is Spady’s new CD, Surrender, on NOLA Blue Records, which features the young New York guitarist and songwriter on three tracks, "If Life Was a Book", "Down Home Blues" and "Good Conversation”, a Schultz original. In 1975, four young guys (Cla Nett, Fulvio Häfeli, Werner Doebelin and Ueli Hofmann) got together, eager to play their music, eager to play the blues. The Lazy Poker Blues Band was founded. With a new drummer, Marco Piazzalonga, the band produced their first album "Take It Lazy" (1978). Jakob Künzel and Sam Jenzer joined the band. Supported by the Lazy Horn Section, the next album "Soul Food" was released in 1980 and turned out to be a full success.

It's a pairing that, in retrospect, seems inevitable. Rod Stewart started to sing standards at the dawn of the 2000s, turning his excursion into the Great American Songbook into a regular standard. Jools Holland played barrelhouse piano from the outset of his career, sneaking some boogie woogie onto Squeeze albums as early as Cool for Cats, where he co-wrote and sang "Hop, Skip, and Jump." Holland later became a star in his own right as a television presenter, launching his long-running music show Later… With Jools Holland in 1992. Later invited musicians of all stripes onto its stage, but one artist who never entered the studio was Stewart - not out of animosity but circumstance.

The singer put a halt to that situation in 2023. Attempting to return to standards after a decade singing original material, Stewart grew frustrated with his results, so he called Holland out of the blue, asking if he and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra might be interested in cutting a record together. Quickly recognizing a kindred spirit, Holland accepted and the pair made Swing Fever, a record steeped in jump blues, boogie woogie, and other manners of swinging R&B. In form, it's not far removed from Stewart's Great American Songbook albums, generally relying on songs written prior to the onset of rock & roll ("Good Rockin' Tonight," which was memorably covered by Elvis Presley, was a jump blues written by Roy Brown and popularized by Wynonie Harris in 1947). In execution, it's wildly different, thanks to Holland and his big band.

Possessing a big, bawdy swagger, Holland and his band are an ideal match for a singer as playful as Stewart, giving him the freedom to swing, scat, and smile with glee. Where Rod often seemed a little mannered, even stuffy, on the Great American Songbook albums, he's singing with an evident grin here, with a cheerful sound matched by Holland's pounding piano and the band's big, bustling rhythms. There's a palpable sense of joy, all derived from the musicians working live in the studio: they're getting a kick out of their collaboration and it's hard for the listener not to get swept up in the excitement with them. /Stephen Thomas Erlewine, AllMusic

It is interesting to note that the …Hard Tymz Blues Band.. is one of the oldest Los Angeles Blues bands still in existence. The Hard Tymz were started in 1975 by Danny Bennett. The name of the band comes from the depression-era Charles Bronson movie about a tough New Orleans streetfighter. Fat Danny Bennett - Vocals, Lead guitar, Slide guitar. "The High Desert Bluesman", Fat Danny Bennett, is the heart and soul of the Hard Tymz. He writes and sings all of the original material. Danny's songs come directly from his life. The good, the bad, the ups and the downs. Danny says, "Sing the Blues? Hell, I'm living the Blues." A multi-talented instrumentalist, Danny counts Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Link Wray, and all the "Kings" among his influences. Doyle Smith - Hammond organ & Electric piano. Born about 20 miles from where Robert Johnson played his last gig, Doyle hails from Leflore County Mississippi. He honed his blues chops playing on the Barbeque joints and Elks Clubs on the chitlin' circuit throughout the Deep South. Influences include Billy Preston, Marvell Thomas, Carson Whitsett, and Booker T. Jay “ Lips “ Schermer - Blues harp and Tambourine. Jay was raised up in North Hollywood California. After twenty-five years of existence, around ten albums and EPs and hundreds of concerts across France, Europe, Africa and the United States, the group Malted Milk is today an institution and an essential reference for lovers of blues and soul. It was in 1996 in Nantes that guitarist and singer Arnaud Fradin and harmonica player Emmanuel Frangeul decided to join forces to celebrate their common passion for the southern and rural blues of Lightnin' Hopkins, Skip James and Robert Johnson. It’s also the title of a Johnson song (“Malted Milk”) that they chose to name their acoustic duo.

The band evolved quickly with the arrival of a rhythm section (bass/keyboards/drums) which allowed them to venture into other blues trends, more urban and more electric. Peaches, Ice Cream & Wine, their first album, was released in 1999, followed by Easy Baby (2005), records that they defended on the stages of the most prestigious blues festivals or during a four-month tour in 2002 in Memphis and New Orleans, a sort of pilgrimage to the sources of the blues and more generally the history of black American music. Over the years, Malted Milk draws its influences from this vast heritage, drawing inspiration from the soul of the Stax labels (Otis Redding, Sam & Dave...) and Hi records (Al Green, Willie Mitchell...), all two based in Memphis, funk from James Brown but also country, rock and folk from Bob Dylan.

During these years, they collaborated with American blues/soul artists including Zora Young, Big Joe Turner and Karl W. Davis and acquired more than deserved international legitimacy. In 2007, a first shift was made when one of the two founders, Emmanuel Frangeul, left the group. The blues sound of his harmonica will be replaced by the soulful warmth of a brass section. This is also the moment when three members of the group Spoonfull, originally from Caen, make their entrance: Igor Pichon (bass), Nicolas Mary (keyboards) and Gilles Delagranges (drums). These new recruits bring with them new musical directions by actively participating in the creation and composition process. The album Sweet Soul Blues (2009) testifies to this desire to combine the blues with other styles of “Great Black Music” which Arnaud and his comrades reveal themselves to be. Their participation in the biggest European festivals (Jazz à Vienne, Jazz à Marciac, North Sea Jazz Festival, etc.) rewards an already well-rounded career.

The group's odyssey continues with the release of numerous albums increasingly praised by critics: Soul Of Woman (2011), Get Some (2012), the live On Stage Tonight! (2014), Milk & Green (2014), in collaboration with the formidable American singer Toni Green, Love, Tears & Guns (2019) or Riding High (2021). On these albums, Malted Milk continues to evolve its repertoire by inviting violins, choirs or percussion here and there. In 2017, Arnaud decided to return to his first love by creating the acoustic quartet Arnaud Fradin & His Roots Combo, while continuing the Malted Milk adventure which celebrated its twenty years of good and loyal service that year. During these two decades, the Malted Milk family has transformed and grown. In addition to the musicians who accompany him, artists like Nina Attal, Ben L'Oncle Soul or 20Syl from the group Hocus Pocus and C2C who now gravitate into Arnaud's musical universe but also key figures like the producer and writer Sebastian Danchin, the sound engineer Albert Michaulian or the manager Tanguy Aubrée whose role is nevertheless essential.

In 2023, Arnaud returns to the studio, still accompanied by Igor Pichon (bass) co-artistic director, Damien Cornelis (keyboards), Richard Housset (drums), Eric Chambouleyron (guitar), Vincent Aubert (trombone) and Pierre Marie Humeau (trumpet). Together, they prepared the release of 1975, the leader's birth date, an introspective album centered on his personal life and which both questions the current state of the world and the human condition. For this new vintage, Malted Milk has enlisted the services of Italian guitarist and singer Marco Cinelli, member of the group The Cinelli Brothers, whose experience has been rewarded many times in the world of blues. His artistic direction, arrangements and assistance as lyricist once again offer Malted Milk the opportunity to establish them as one of the big names on the international blues/soul scene.

With over 150 combined years of gigging experience behind them, Morgen, Colin, Terry and Justin have played with many bands over the years, spanning a wide variety of music genres from Rockabilly, Rock Classic and Rock Blues. They have a history of playing together from way back in the 1990's with many influences on their music. The majority of The Mighty Howlers songs have been written by Morgen over a period of many years. The experience of the other musicians has allowed a rich and punchy sound to be developed, resulting in the music heard by their large audiences today.

Previous hook-ups include Morgen and Justin in Me and The Devil as well as The Mo' Slim Stompers. Colin and Morgen in Black Cat Bone. Terry and Colin in Overdrawn, plus many more. Other bands they have been a part of include Transam and The Flat Caps. Their main influences today are Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, John Lee Hooker, 50's Rhythm & Blues, Dr Feelgood, to name but a few.

Their tough, high energy, performances have proved to be very popular with both the dance crowd and the blues purists. Those members of the audience who would not have considered themselves devotees of Blues Music at the start of the evening, tend to be wholly converted by the time The Mighty Howlers have completed their roaring sets.

Adam Gussow, a Princeton University graduate living in New York, was wandering near the Apollo Theater in 1986 and stopped to listen to Magee. The two soon started performing together. They were a pair often defined by their contrasts, not the least of which was their looks: Magee, a fiery black veteran guitarist, side by side with the young Gussow, a white and somewhat nerdy harmonica player. The duo began to attract crowds, then acclaim: They toured Europe, recorded an album that made the charts (“Harlem Blues”), and were featured on a U2 record. V. Scott Balcerek, the documentary’s director, tells the story (later parts of which are better discovered onscreen than spoiled here) using decades of well-shot footage and interviews, and an underlying sense of melancholy. You can easily imagine some Hollywood executive eyeing up the tale for a treacly feature film of interracial understanding. And certainly, this documentary highlights the strong friendship between the two men. Yet even with a short running time the filmmakers don’t shy away from more complex issues — racial tensions, gentrification, art and anger. American singer-songwriter-guitarist Adam Douglas (1981) was born and raised in Oklahoma. In 2008 he moved to Norway and settled in Harestua in 2017. His debut album 'I May Never Learn' was released in 2015 . In 2016, Douglas won the Baltic Song Contest in Karlshamn and in 2017 the Stjernekamp music competition on NRK. For his 4th album ' Better Angels ' from 2021, he wins the Spellemann Prize in the blues class. 'Dancing For The Moon', Adam Douglas' new album, was released at the beginning of November. He is accompanied on this album by a large number of excellent Norwegian musicians. The opening song, Wish I Had Not Said That, a song by JJ Cale from 1981, is sung in a nice, laidback way by Douglas. The beautiful bass tones are from Manus Reksjø . The tempo increases in Stop, Drop And Roll , which features fantastic music from the Norwegian musicians. The singing is exuberant in Plenty Of Time, None To Waste. Mari Birgitte Bølgen Halvorsen 's violin and Thor-Erik Fjellvang 's Wurlitzer are also pleasant to the ear. True Blue is a relaxed song with a tight rhythm section and the backing vocals of Charlotte Bredesen . Déja Rendezvous , with a psychedelic intro, is a wonderful country song, mainly due to the duo vocals of Douglas and Solveig Slettahjell . The singing is strong and the accompaniment is excellent again in the mid-tempo He'll Be Alright. I Need A Cigarette is solid(er) with that tight rhythm section and a beautiful guitar solo. Douglas' duo singing with Christel Alsos is beautiful in We're All The Way, written by Don Williams. In the exciting Maybe Someday the beautiful harmonies of Charlotte Bredesen and Lars Andreas Aspesaeter stand out. In the soulful Closer To You , Douglas proves once again that he is an excellent singer. Conclusion: 'Dancing For The Moon' is a beautiful album by a great singer.

Formed in 1992 by guitarist Scottie "Mad Dog" Blinn and drummer Tom Essa, the Mississippi Mudsharks were favorites on the San Diego roots rock scene for over half-a-decade before applying the brakes in 2000, which makes Train Rolls On a reunion of sorts. A power trio (Mike Lars handles the bass duties) specializing in a kind of punk blues driven by Blinn's gruff, Wolfman Jack-like vocals and blistering slide playing, the Sharks open the throttle here on the title track and then never look back, blasting through an impressive set of bluesy voodoo rock.

Among the highlights are the classic "Train Rolls On," the template for most of what these guys do, "Throw It in the Hole," which sounds like a rocking Tom Waits out in front of a top-notch power trio, the spooky and gliding "Devil's Road," given additional eerie atmosphere by guest Johnny Smokes' pedal steel playing, and the straight blues "Can't Put Down the Drink," which shows that Blinn can gear down and play this stuff clean when he chooses to. This is no-nonsense punk blues with pedigree and attitude, but filled too with subtle variety and flashes of humor, and it shows an intelligent band with clear purpose behind all the bluster and power. /Steve Leggett, AllMusic

Zataban plays a combination of blues, soul, funk, and jazz. Established in 2010 and based out of Upstate South Carolina, the band has quickly become a favorite in the area with their smooth unforgettable renditions of Chicago Blues and New Orleans funk music. Zataban started out doing covers but have been working on completing their second CD of material written or co-written by the band's talented, seasoned musicians.

The band consists of a 4-piece rhythm section with a saxophone and newly added local favorite Miss Jamie Wright on vocals. They have now developed an even better defined style of music that will send chills down the spines of all who take the time to allow their musical ear to enjoy strong chord progressions that take them to the heart of Bourbon St. or alley ways of Chicago. You won't regret the time spent listening to the best of the best blend of musicians of the last two generations of blues, jazz, and funk.

Otis Grand and I had been working on this project off and on for a few years before his tragic and untimely death. What we have here is a part of a magnificent body of work. Otis was guitarist, producer, bandleader, songwriter and general key figure on the blues scene. In the mid 1980s I was busy touring some great U.S. Blues acts all over the U.K. Suddenly out of nowhere comes this American guitarist with a British band and a great singer in Earl Green. Otis Grand became the biggest thing on the British circuit and in Europe too. Later on we would spend time together around the first Burnley Blues Festival. Otis had his very well deserved headlining spot. It's that show which is Disc A here and it is released in it's entirety for the first time.

Our first real artistic collaboration was the Guitar Shorty album. I had heard rumours of this incredible L.A. based guitarist who was the brother in law of Jimi Hendrix. I thought Otis was the perfect bandleader to back Shorty playing real blues style, no going 'commercial' and no nod to blues/rock. The result... perfection. The next opportunity was a real legend Phillip Walker. This track was cut at a lovely studio in London. Texas Blues with an L.A. twist was Phillip's style and this track stands with his best. The next studio set we collaborated on was with the man who virtually invented honking tenor sax, Joe Houston.

We also have Otis with Joe Louis Walker - both at the top of their game here. What's most important is not personalities, egos, honour or 'reputations'... but the art, the music. Throughout my time in this blues game I have become used to losing dear friends... but sometimes a loss leaves a particularly large hole in one's life. Otis Grand was a man and artist so much more than the sum of his particular parts and talents. Otis was Lebanese/American and a many faceted person who had his roots in several different cultures. It is our luck and honour that one of them was the Blues. /John Stedman

Playing in bands since the age of 16, Scottie “Mad Dog” Blinn cut his teeth with legendary San Diego bluesman Tomcat Courtney in the late 1980s. By 1992, Blinn hooked up with drummer Tom Essa, who was drumming for the rock band Natasha’s Ghost. With bassist Mike “Sandalwood Haze” Jones joining up, they formed the Mississippi Mudsharks, a hard rockin’ blues band.

By 1994, the Mudsharks put out their first CD, Workin’ for Nickels and Dimes, and opening for every major blues headliner coming through town. The band was touring the southwest and California regularly, the European market was taking notice, and they were opening shows for the likes of Buddy Guy, George Clinton and P-Funk, Dick Dale, and Willie Nelson. Even Brian Setzer and Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown would drop by to sit in! But the highlight was getting to hang with ZZ Top several times, including a night where Blinn and Billy Gibbons pulled an all-nighter in Dallas, Texas, talking cars, guitars, and blues, and playing guitar.

By 1996, the Mississippi Mudsharks were on their way to Europe, where their first CD hit number one on the CrossCut Records Blues Charts. Following up the tour, they returned home to record their second CD, Traditional Heavy, which also hit number one on the same charts, and by 1997 the band received the honor of receiving their third straight (1995-1997) San Diego Music Award for “Best Blues.”

By 1999, everyone was tired, and musical differences broke up the band. They put out one more CD, the live Whatcha Hear Is Whatcha Get, and toured Europe one more time. Blinn also formed the Tiki Torchers with former Hooters drummer Dave Uosikkinnen and Tim Butler (Hot Rod Lincoln) on bass. They put out the CD Hoodoo Charm. Blinn’s efforts earned him San Diego Music Award nominations for "Best Blues" with the Mudsharks, "Best Blues CD" with the Tiki Torchers, and "Artist of the Year" the same year. Hoodoo Charm went to number four on the CrossCut Blues Chart, following Stevie Ray Vaughan & Albert King, Rory Gallager, and Luther Allison.

After a 2001 European tour with the Tiki Torchers, Blinn hooked up with old friend and former harmonica player for Social Distortion, Eric “Jailhouse” Von Herzen, and formed Mississippi Mud. This proved to be a great turning point in the musical direction of the band. After three European tours and two CDs - the 2002 Mississippi Mud, nominated for "Best Blues Album" at the SDMAs, and the 2004 EP, The Hangin’ Tree - Blinn and Von Herzen had planted the seed for a new sound they coined “grease punk.”

After a serious illness sidelined Jailhouse in 2005, Blinn regrouped with original Mudshark drummer Tom Essa and bassist Mike Lars. The Mississippi Mudsharks were back! 2006 brought a new CD of originals, Train Rolls On, which rose to number four on the CrossCut Blues Charts, was nominated for “Best Blues Album” at the San Diego Music Awards, and has received great reviews for it’s hard-edged roots/punk sound. The band immediately went on a festival and club tour in Europe for two months to support the CD. /San Diego Reader

Los Angeles native Candye Kane sang a sassy and showbiz-savvy blend of blues and soul that took no prisoners of any persuasion. Kane was a lot of things in her life, from a mother and serious student to a pinup girl and actress (both on-stage and in risqué movies), and she even did a stint as a serious, full-tilt punk rocker. She would have been just another fringe player in L.A. except for two things - she could sing like nobody's business and she had a sexy, intelligent, and passionate musical vision to match her voice.

Born November 13, 1961 in Ventura, California, Kane spent her childhood, a difficult one by her own account, in the Los Angeles suburb of Highland Park, and music and theater were her passion and saving graces. A pregnancy at 17 put her in financial trouble and she turned to stripping to pay the bills, eventually appearing in dozens of videos with titles like Bra Breakers and Big Busty. After a brief stint in USC's junior opera program in 1976, she did a left turn into punk rock, starting several country-punk bands in the early '80s, eventually coming to the attention of CBS/Epic, who signed her to a developmental deal in 1985. The label figured they had a country singer on their hands, but dropped Kane when her stripper past surfaced, although not before a debut album, A Town South of Bakersfield, was released in 1986.

Kane moved on, relocated to San Diego, married, had another child, and attended Palomar Community College, where she majored in women's studies. She also worked hard on her songwriting, and after discovering the recordings of classic women blues singers like Bessie Smith, Etta James, Big Mama Thornton, and Big Maybelle, she also began to form a vision of how she wanted to proceed as a singer and musician.

Kane self-released Burlesque Swing in 1991, and a year later in 1992 she signed with Antone's Records, which resulted in a pair of albums, 1994's Home Cookin' and 1995's Knockout. Moving to Discovery Records, Kane released Diva la Grande in 1997. Swango appeared from Sire/London a year later in 1998, followed by the impressive The Toughest Girl Alive on Rounder/Bullseye in 2000. Three albums with the German label Ruf Records, Whole Lotta Love (2003), White Trash Girl (2005), and Guitar'd and Feathered (2007), came next.

In 2009 Kane signed with Delta Groove Records, and Superhero appeared from the imprint that same year. With her musical vision now firmly developed, Kane released a second album on Delta Groove, the very impressive Sister Vagabond, a searing set of blues and soul pieces, in 2011. Coming Out Swingin', featuring blues guitar goddess Laura Chavez, was issued on her Sister Cynic label via Vizztone in 2013. Sadly, Kane had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the late 2000s, and she continued to perform and record despite the disease, which ultimately claimed her life on May 6, 2016. Lightning struck at the crossroads, and from it has arisen the alliance of two modern blues masters: Billy C. Farlow and Rich Kirch. The bold, soulful lyrics and screaming harmonica of Farlow, coupled with the wailing electric guitar riffs of Kirch create a driving rhythmic force that interweaves an eclectic blend of traditional blues and Southern-fried rockabilly, celebrating Americana roots styles with foot-stomping vigor. Walter Baumgartner has been associated with the blues and its music for an eternity, probably before he realized it himself. That's why he turned his former hobby into his profession years ago. With his voice and harmonica, he has been delighting people at concerts and events for years and has successfully promoted this basic, down-to-earth and groundbreaking musical style of black people from the southern states with all its different facets. His musical work currently focuses on the band projects: Walt's Blues Box (modern blues, sometimes with a whole brass section) Walter Baumgartner Quartet (traditional swing and jump blues) Acoustic Blues Drifter (acoustic duo blues with Joe Schwach/guitar , Vocals) He is also in a duo with Michael Dolmetsch (piano, Hammond) and Hannes Kasehs (guitarist and singer from Vienna). He has appeared on various CD productions . He has so far recorded 11 albums with his formations. In 2016 he won the Swiss Blues Award in Basel. In the past, he hosted a 2-hour blues show live on Winterthur's local radio Stadtfilter for years, and founded and led the Albani Thursday Blues Session in Winterthur, which was successfully presented for 10 years . He held the Winterthur Blues Night in Salzhaus, Winterthur 4 times and has recently organized a traditional Blues Night in Dübendorf and other Swiss cities. He gives individual and group lessons for the harmonica and has been leading workshops at home and abroad for a long time . He has also been an endorser of the Hohner company for several years and exclusively plays Hohner harmonicas.
