In 1985, he created the band "Rain" in Kharkov. The band consisting of teenagers was quickly noticed in Ukraine. The group also attracted the attention of concert promoters in several European countries. In 1986-1992, Rain played concerts and tours in Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands...
In 1992, Oleksandr Dolgov and "Dozhd" (this is the Ukrainian name of the band) - as the first band from Ukraine participated in the International Festival - Film + 2LP "Blues in Russia".
In 1994 - In Stas Namin's studio "SNC Records" Oleksandr Dolgov records the album "BLUES NEWS". This album was re-released by "Misteria Zvuka" and sold in large quantities in many countries of the world.
In 1996 - At the festival "Step to Parnassus" Alexander Dolgov became a finalist. It was then that he became friends with the festival guests: Sam Andrew, "Big Brother & the Holding Company", Paul Young, Bonny Tyler.
In 1991-2005 - At the turn of the century, Aleksander Dołgov takes part in local and foreign festivals: Warsaw Jazz Jamboree, Poznań Jazz and Blues Festival, Rava Blues, Zaczarowany Świat Harmonijki in Poznań Muzyczny Camping in Brodnica, Ostrava Blues and others. In the 1990s, Alex and his band performed many times at the Piano club in Brodnica.
In 2012 -2013 – the band records the album “the Man”. Vol.1
In 2015-2016 – Musical trip to the USA. Meeting with the legends of American blues Jerry Portnoy, the master of harmonica, the musician of Muddy Waters Blues Band and with Eric Clapton All Star Band. Performances in Las Vegas.
In 2016-2017 – On the recommendation of Rita King, daughter of BBKing, Alexander Dolgov is included in The Blues Hall Of Fame® as a Great Blues Artist, Ambassador From Ukraine In The Blues Hall Of Fame.
2018-2019 – Alexander Dolgov Headlining “Feeling Blues Festival” together with the legendary guitarist, member of the golden Muddy Waters Blues Band – Bob Margolin. Successful presentation of a joint program with the famous guitarist and composer Francis Goya in Israel. Continuation of cooperation. Recording of a joint single.
In 2019 – 2021 – Recording and release of the album “Unitynol” .
Since 2018, Alexander Dolgov decided to keep the name of the band “Rain” for history.
Alexander Dolgov is the only Ukrainian musician who was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame Due to the war operations in Ukraine, Alex Dolgov decided to settle in Poland, in Toruń, and continue his solo career.
