In 1985, he created the band "Rain" in Kharkov. The band consisting of teenagers was quickly noticed in Ukraine. The group also attracted the attention of concert promoters in several European countries. In 1986-1992, Rain played concerts and tours in Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands... In 1992, Oleksandr Dolgov and "Dozhd" (this is the Ukrainian name of the band) - as the first band from Ukraine participated in the International Festival - Film + 2LP "Blues in Russia". In 1994 - In Stas Namin's studio "SNC Records" Oleksandr Dolgov records the album "BLUES NEWS". This album was re-released by "Misteria Zvuka" and sold in large quantities in many countries of the world. In 1996 - At the festival "Step to Parnassus" Alexander Dolgov became a finalist. It was then that he became friends with the festival guests: Sam Andrew, "Big Brother & the Holding Company", Paul Young, Bonny Tyler. In 1991-2005 - At the turn of the century, Aleksander Dołgov takes part in local and foreign festivals: Warsaw Jazz Jamboree, Poznań Jazz and Blues Festival, Rava Blues, Zaczarowany Świat Harmonijki in Poznań Muzyczny Camping in Brodnica, Ostrava Blues and others. In the 1990s, Alex and his band performed many times at the Piano club in Brodnica. In 2012 -2013 – the band records the album “the Man”. Vol.1 In 2015-2016 – Musical trip to the USA. Meeting with the legends of American blues Jerry Portnoy, the master of harmonica, the musician of Muddy Waters Blues Band and with Eric Clapton All Star Band. Performances in Las Vegas. In 2016-2017 – On the recommendation of Rita King, daughter of BBKing, Alexander Dolgov is included in The Blues Hall Of Fame® as a Great Blues Artist, Ambassador From Ukraine In The Blues Hall Of Fame. 2018-2019 – Alexander Dolgov Headlining “Feeling Blues Festival” together with the legendary guitarist, member of the golden Muddy Waters Blues Band – Bob Margolin. Successful presentation of a joint program with the famous guitarist and composer Francis Goya in Israel. Continuation of cooperation. Recording of a joint single. In 2019 – 2021 – Recording and release of the album “Unitynol” . Since 2018, Alexander Dolgov decided to keep the name of the band “Rain” for history. Alexander Dolgov is the only Ukrainian musician who was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame Due to the war operations in Ukraine, Alex Dolgov decided to settle in Poland, in Toruń, and continue his solo career.

Born 31 July 1968 in Kharkov, the Ukraine. In 1992 graduated from the school of Foreign Languages of the Kharkov Karazin National University. He took up the guitar at the age of 10. The first gig of his band was lead in 1986.

In1989 in Poland at a festival "Zaczarowany Swiat Harmonici" Alexander Dolgov and His Band got noticed by one of the most skillfull managers in The Eastern Europe at that time -Grzegorz Grabowski. He was also the manager and producer of a blues-band number one in Poland - "Nocna Zmiana Bluesa" . It was a real Good Luck. From that moment , "The Rain" often came with tours to Europe participating in various festivals - mostly in Poland, Czech Republic, Germany. The Soviet Union failure made some changes. In 1992 at the festival "Blues in Russia" Alexander Dolgov and his band were featured in a live "In concert" movie and also got into a resulting live LP. After "Blues in Russia" festival where Alexander Dolgov and The Rain were the youngest participants, Alexander Dolgov with his recognizable "ripping" guitar style was acknowledged as one of the best guitarists. His singing manner and songwriting also haven’t been overlooked. In 1993 they became the basis for his debut full LP "Blues News", recorded at Stas Namin`s "SNC" studio in Moscow.(*this record had been reissued in 2007 as Alexander Dolgov & The Rain "Blues News" CD, MZ-385-4,2007).

In 1994 Alexander Dolgov and participates in an International "A Step to Parnasus" TV-Festival together with Big Brother And The Holding Company, Bonny Tyler, Paul Young. In 1997 Alexander Dolgov meets and opens for Mick Taylor - the legendary guitarist of John Mayall Blues Breakers and The Rolling Stones at a festival "Make Blues Not War" in Kiev. Time runs fast... Over 25 years Alexander Dolgov & The Rain still keep rocking along with gigs, festivals, TV and live music shows, working on studio and live recordings.

Alexander L. Dolgov (Years Active 1986-present, age 44) Blues, Rock guitarist, singer, songwriter. The leader of his band The Rain.
Born 31 July 1968 in Khakov, the Ukraine. In 1992 graduated from the school of Foreign Languages of the Kharkov Karazin National University.
He took up the guitar at the age of 10. The first gig of his band was lead in 1986.
In1989 in Poland at a festival "Zaczarowany swiat harmonica" Alexander Dolgov gets noticed by the manager and producer of a Polish blues-band "Nocna Zmiana Bluesa" Grzegorz Grabowski. From that moment on "The Rain" often visit Europe participating in various festivals mostly in Poland and Chech Republic.
In 1992 at the festival "Blues in Russia" Alexander Dolgov and his band were featured in a live in concert movie and also got into a resulting live recording with their cover of Arthur Crudup`s "That`s All Right". After this "Blues in Russia" festival where Alexander Dolgov and The Rain were the youngest participants, Alexander Dolgov with his recognizable guitar playing style was acknowledged as one of the best blues guitarists.
His unique singing manner and songs he composed also haven’t been overlooked.
In 1993 they became the basis for a debut studio record. "Blues News" made at Stas Namin`s "SNC" studio in Moscow (*this record had been reissued in 2007 as Alexander Dolgov & The Rain "Blues News" CD, MZ-385-4,2007).
In 1994 Alexander Dolgov and participates in an International "A Step to Parnasus" TV-festival together with Big Brother And The Holding Company, Bonny Tyler, Paul Young.
In 1997 Alexander Dolgov meets and opens for Mick Taylor - the legendary guitarist of John Mayall Blues Breakers and The Rolling Stones at a festival "Make Blues Not War" in Kiev.
