Hi people, We are an Aussie rythmn and blues outfit from the great state of Tasmania. Our music has such a huge range of influences, everything from American blues to Aussie rock and with quite a few stops in between. The songwriters in the band are Simon Bradshaw AKA Hank .B. Merkin, and Geoff. D. Rogers AKA The Rev Slim Merkin. We write about real stuff that has either happened, will happen or we really want to happen, but seriously, most of our material is based in experiences of life. Guitar duties on this record go to Hank. B. and Graham Beer AKA Smokin' Joe Merkin, bass Guitars and double bass man is Conrad Joyce AKA Leroy Merkin, drummer Dave Furlani AKA Curly Merkin. Heroes and influences of the band include Eric Clapton, Tom Waits, Dylan, The Stones, AC/DC, the late, great Joe Cocker, Hank Williams (all three of 'em), Muddy Waters, The Grateful Dead, Ray Charles, and the list goes on....
We are a guitar driven band, and in live shows, 'been told we rock pretty serious, but we like to smooth it out too when required so hopefully you get that vibe from this record. We have performed our live show extensively around Australia and received some awesome reviews so happy listening and hope you get the Merkin vibe too.
