Chuck Hall was born in Louisiana and raised on the Texas side, growing up in a very music-oriented family. His mother—a classical pianist who at age 90 still teaches on the same grand piano Chuck grew up with—his father’s extensive jazz collection, and the local roots Blues on the radio kept the house constantly alive with an eclectic mix of music that inspires Chuck to this day. He began playing the guitar at age 10, heard his first Lightnin’ Hopkins album at 13, and never looked back. Chuck Hall has won the hearts and accolades of fans and critics throughout his electrifying Blues career, which now spans over five decades. His Arizona journey began in 1984 as co-frontman with Texas Red & The Hartbreakers and was followed by the legendary Chuck Hall & The Brick Wall, and currently The Chuck Hall Band. He spent a year on the road with Robert Cray, opened shows for B.B. King, Johnny Winter, Gregg Allman, Charlie Musselwhite, Hans Olson, Los Lobos and many more… and has toured internationally since 1992. Awards include “Best Blues Guitarist” in Arizona and “Best Song” for his original title “Young Boy.” While still heavily gigging, Chuck worked extensively with Fender Guitars for over ten years, representing the brand as a master clinician at numerous international trade shows and dealer events. PBS and Tempe Center for the Arts highlighted his career in a televised 2014 Songwriters Showcase, and Fervor Records has placed numerous Chuck Hall songs on popular television shows. The recent addition of Chuck’s eclectic “Rewired!” acoustic music has opened up new artistic possibilities for him, and he now offers performances ranging from solo, duo, trio through six-piece bands. All Hall truly is breaking loose!

Musicians have the talent and passion for their art that distinguishes them among their peers. When you hear these musicians play, you know it’s the real thing. The Chuck Hall Band creates art in the form of music. The recipe they use is simple: Start with blues that’s so greasy it clogs the arteries in your ears. Stir in generous portions of refined talent and raw passion, add a dash of showmanship sprinkled with a touch of salty humor and cook on high heat until it smokes. Serve steaming hot. The result is a spicy musical feast that satisfies and always leaves you wanting more.

The chef, Chuck Hall, was born in Louisiana and raised on the Texas side listening to the likes of Lightnin’ Hopkins, Muddy Waters, Freddie King, and Albert King as well as many others. Since moving to the Valley in 1984, he has become a well-known and respected musician. As a 35+ year veteran in the music business Chuck has played with some of the best, opening shows for Albert Collins, B.B. King, Johnny Winter, Albert King, Willie Dixon, Robert Cray, Gregg Allman, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, and many others. He recently opened for Charlie Musselwhite and Robert Cray again!

Chuck Hall has been on the Phoenix music scene for decades. The blues man first gained local notoriety as guitarist for Texas Red and the Heartbreakers before moving on to form Chuck Hall & the Brick Wall, and he’s now performing with the Chuck Hall Band.

The band has just released a new album on the locally-based Fervor Records imprint and Hall says that Hillbilly Wild was in part inspired by television program "Justified," on which multiple Hall songs have appeared in the past. The album is split about evenly between vocal numbers like the Fabulous Thunderbirds-recalling “Darlin’” and the funky/spooky “Voodoo Daddy” (with local legend Hans Olson guesting) and instrumentals like the chicken-pickin’ delight “Super Chicken” and the playful “Pint Sized Cowboy,”

Hillbilly Wild is sure to please fans from all eras of Hall’s career as well as extend his run with placement of music on TV.
