Bo Dud/Bo Dudley, born Oscar Coleman in Mississippi in 1941 caused a sensation with his first 45t in 1968 (Shotgun rider/Coast to coast), especially for the part of steel guitar Freddie Roulette. So deliberately mimicking Bo Diddley, Bo Dud then recorded titles between Soul and Chicago traditional blues usually on his home label Dud Sound. Two instrumental pieces are mostly made by the guitarist Johnny Twist that we presented in the previous volume. After a long career as a taxi driver and despite the serious fire of his Chicago home that nearly cost him his life, Bo Dud continued to play more or less regularly and even recorded an album (Oscar boogie) quite difficult to find. ~Gérard Herzhaft (translated from french)
