Blending their own originals with a mix of covers, they deliver a true southern sound with a funky edge. Featuring Warwick 'Electrolux' Murray on guitar, harmonica and vocals, 'QT' Lee on vocals and keyboards, Ramblin' Rick Stringer on keyboards, harmonica and vocals, Aaron 'The Funky Chief' on bass and vocals, and joining the band for the Wellington shows is local drummer Andrew Richardson.
The band formed in 2013, following a 'merger' of 'Strange Brew' from Wellington, and 'The Federation' from Queenstown. The name of the band was born from the fact that the 5 members of the band live in New Plymouth, Wellington and now Dunedin - meaning they have to keep shooting back and forth across Cook Strait to various gigs and tours. Featuring Warwick 'Electrolux' Murray - guitar, vocals, harmonica; 'Ramblin' Rick Stringer - keyboards, vocals, harmonica; 'QT' Lee - vocals, keyboards; Aaron 'the funky chief' Nonoa - bass, vocals; Mark 'Tom Tom' Thomas - drums.
If you like great blues, hot funk, smooth soul and bad jokes, then get along to catch one of their gigs on this tour. A great night "shakin' what ya Mama gave ya!"
