A Contra Blues is one of the most established blues-rock band in Barcelona´s musical scene.With more than nine years and 500 concerts of history, they have edited five LP : A Contra Blues (2008), ACB II (2010), Live (2012), Chances (2013) and R & B (2015). Their repertoire combines tradition and heterodoxy, naturally blending classic American music and their own compositions. Their interpretations are full of elaborate arrangements intertwined with bold improvisation, spontaneity and instrumental passages, ranging from moments of musical climax to intense dynamics. Besides the important presence in the Catalan capital, as of today undoubtedly one of the best live bands locally A Contra Blues has also a very important career in Europe, they have performed in the best Blues and Rock festivals of many countries. Last 2014 they were considered the Best European Blues band by the “European Union Blues”, a major award.

Contra Blues is a consolidated band within the state blues scene. Since its founding in 2005, this training has performed in numerous venues, both national and international, participating in competitions such as the International Blues Festival of Barcelona (2009), the International Festival of Blues of Cazorla (2009) and the Festival International des Deux Rivières (Belle-Isle-En-Terre, France, 2013), among others. At record level, A Contra Blues has published three record works: A Contra Blues (2008), Chances (2013) and R & B (Rarezas & Blues), and has recorded two promotional models of his concerts in 2010 at the Sala Salamandra (A Contra Blues II) and 2012 at the Liceu Conservatory (Live).

In his repertoire we find tradition and heterodoxy, mixing in a natural way to interpret, with freshness and maturity, both classic and own compositions. As a result of these qualities, their interpretations combine indifferently spontaneity and elaborate arrangements.

His energetic shows, up to 180 minutes in length, are an experience full of strength, solidity and empathy. Contra Blues lives live and for live, achieving with his performances a natural feedback with the audience and moments of climax, both the highest dynamics and the most intimate passages. A proposal that leaves no one indifferent.

Es conocido casi por todos la mística y fábula que rodea a Robert Johnson. Al margen de eso, la influencia musical que tiene y ha tenido a lo largo de los años, tanto en artistas del estilo como de otros más alejados, es indudable.

Precisamente eso es lo que ha tratado de mostrar Bad Music, encargado de editar "Pactando con El diablo". Homenaje a Robert Johnson, con un disco que engloba a bandas y músicos de muy diversas características, desde los más cercanos al universo del blues como otros más alejados, dejando claro las raíces tan alargadas de este brillante guitarrista y cantante.

Difícil reseñar canciones concretas de este trabajo que tiene su importancia en la visión poliédrica a la que da forma y la manera tan particular con la que se acercan a las composiciones originales, algunas de ellas míticas ya dentro de la música popular, renunciando casi en la totalidad de los casos a “fotocopiarlas” y sí, en cambio, a reinterpretarlas sin complejos.

Así por ejemplo nos encontramos con una animada versión del “They´re red hot”, pasada al catalán como “He quedat a les set “, interpretada por Very Pomelo, el blues moderno e innovador de Oskar Benash “Soy un animal rodante” (“I’m steady roller man”), el country polvoriento que dan vida Cobo & Chinaski o el tono swing-jazz de Amadeu Casas para interpretar ambos “From four till late”. Unos poco ejemplos del curioso homenaje a una de las guitarras y voces más emblemáticas de la música del diablo.
