Since 1952 The El Dorados have been singing Rhythm & Blues on street corners, at High School dances and R&B Revues. Forty years of performing have made them elder statesman of the Black Harmony Vocal group idiom, or more commenly used term, Doo-Wop. Recording through the fifties for the legendary Vee-Jay record company has gamered The El Dorados a number of national hits and a number one chart topper. They rank as one of Chicago's most succesful R&B vocal groups. Their original 45's and 78's are now prized collector's items.
This recording session had The El Dorados performing tribute to the Chicago Group Sound. Songs of the Moonglows, Flamingos, Sheppards, 5 C's, Dandeliers, 5 Thrills and 5 Bluenotes. All Chicago legends in their own right that along with The El Dorados and handful of others that made recording history during the 1950's.
The session utilized instruments, amps and microphones from the 1950's but thay used modern techniques in recording. What you hear is real and natural and not a lot of difference from the way it was commited to vinyl of shellac in the old days.
