Ethan Margolis - guitar/vocals; Deron Johnson - piano (Miles Davis Band); Katisse Buckingham - Flute/Sax (Herbie Hancock); Reggie Hamilton - Bass (Babyface, Aretha Franklin); Chris Wabich - drums (Leonard Cohen); Diego El Negro - percussion (El Cigala).
Blues, Latin, Jazz, Hip-Hop (usually not a fan), Reggae. This is an awesome stew of styles, WELL DONE!! ~M. Practice
Nylon guitarist, Ethan Margolis lived in Spain for more than a decade. In 2010 he moved to Los Angeles and formed his world quintet whose primary focus is on the open and improvisational space that jazz and flamenco music share. Dissonant chording and pursuit of unique groove patterns are part of his signature. Highly influenced by his mentors within the Gypsy circuit of Andalucía, Margolis's hybrid compositions reflect the intricate phrasings of his instrumental and vocal melodies. Margolis has performed as a soloist around the world and has been featued by the LA Weekly, the LA TIMES, NY TIMES, etc. Margolis has collaborated with Bill Watterson (Calvin and Hobbes, El Farru (dancer, Paco de Lucía), Judith Hill (20 feet from stardom), and is a featured soloist on Omar Faruk Tekbilek's newest album.
