We play a high-energy, hard-rocking, guitar-driven brand of Blues. It all centers around Christy Rossiter and her big voice. She's been fronting the band since 2010 and is a great mix of Grace Slick and Bonnie Raitt, with a Big Mama Thornton growl & smile. The band‘s signature sound is powered by the stellar guitar work of Michael Beebe, and the propulsive rhythm work of Chet Crinklaw (bass) and J. E. Van Horne (drums). The band formed in 2004 with Brendan Riley (vocals, guitar, harmonica), a great singer in his own right. Beth McBride (vocals, guitar), an Omaha icon, Jim Buchanan (bass) and J. E. Van Horne (drums). Along the way we were joined by Brian Luger (bass), Dave Nauman (bass, vocals) and Billy "The Kid" Talacko (guitar, saxophone). CD releases include: Live at the Toy Drive (2014), Stand Up & Raise Some Hell (2013), Gone Fishin’ (with ”Billy the Kid) (2012), Flat River Blues (2011), Dog At Your Door (2009), I Took the Hook (2007) and Judgment Day (2006). We’ve had the pleasure of playing shows and festivals with Coco Montoya, Indigenous, Here Come the Mummies, Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, Too Slim & the Taildraggers, the Grand Marquis, Albert Castiglia and many more.

This album grew from some trying times in the hospital for some of our family members. Although, there are no real sad songs, there are songs that reflect on success and failure. We do take a fun look at some interesting aspects of our society, with Smart Phone Junkies and The Westboro Blues making their own statements. Humuhumunukunukuapua'a grew out of some beautiful days in Hawaii. We include a touching ballad in Amy's Song, and a few different looks at love, overcoming life and having a good time, so join us and Stand Up & Raise Some Hell. ~Christy

Out of Omaha, Nebraska, Christy Rossiter & 112 North Duck play a hard-rocking, guitar-driven brand of blues that’s powered by the powerful guitar work of Michael Beebe and the propulsive rhythm work of Darren Hopson (bass) and J. E. Van Horne (drums). Lead singer Rossiter brings a mix of Grace Slick and Bonnie Raitt to her vocals and is as comfortable singing the roadhouse rockers as she is the smooth ballads. Gone Fishin’ (Applecopter) is their fifth release and serves as a fine showcase for the band’s talents. Gone Fishin’ features eleven songs (plus an instrumental interlude), ten written by the band. The title cut is a fine slow blues that really gives Beebe room to stretch out with some inspired fretwork. “Throw the Dog a Bone” is a rousing blues/rocker, “Life With You” and “You Make Me Shiver” are rock balladry at their finest, and “Baby I’m Gone” is another great slow blues. Other highlights include the instrumental, “The Man With the Red Guitar,” and an appropriately funky take on Loren Winkler’s “The Louisiana Way.”

Rossiter does a great job on vocals throughout, and the band is right behind with steady support. Beebe is a force of nature on guitar. Gone Fishin’ is an impressive, well-crafted effort from an experienced band that knows its way around a blues song. ~Graham Clarke/Blues Bytes
