A long-time member of Nashville's blues and r&b scene, a professional since the 1960s, singer Larry LaDon is presenting his first solo album. His vocal style is reminding me of Sam McClain, sometimes. It was Mighty Sam's place in Johnny Jones' band that Larry took in the '80s. Produced by Fred James, this is a set of mostly original tunes - although some of them melodies sound pretty familiar. The production is first rate, and Larry LaDon's voice is beautiful and has been worth the wait. Soulful blues.
