How to travel lighter? The Hobblers, a Scotsman and an American with roots in blues, folk and jazz arrive in France with their songs and stories, their luggage, and life ahead. Steeped in their traditions, their modernity, and an overwhelming energy on stage, born from the music that follows them wherever they travel. Malcolm McCallum and Tim McGlue take us with them, like during an evening in front of the fire, through the thirteen songs of their new CD, Travelin' Light, mixed with black, white, Celtic, Native American and finally... Parisian blues. The meeting in Paris with friends, and off we go. They have been playing together in France for thirteen years. Before, Malcolm played with his electric blues-rock bands from the 1980s in Paris, Tim too on his side, both always faithful to their first love, the blues. They formed with friends the band Les Magnitoz which released a first electric album in 2009, and which still tours the Parisian scene, in Normandy and further afield. A principle: we play blues live, we like it, but we only record the compositions. And the two songwriters are always pursued by an idea—the return to the sources. Their acoustic guitars, the harmonica, and their lyrics, unplugged. The Hobblers, their acoustic duo, was born from it. And we are going to follow them, Travelin' Light...
