Dan Granero - 2 albums: Time To Wake Up / Live From Australia

Dan Granero began his musical journey at age three with a bass guitar. Dan's first musical influence was his father, Michael Granero who was lead guitarist in the band 'Ivory' in the 1970's. Dan was born and raised in Australia growing up in a household filled with many styles of music, from the flamenco style of his parents' Spanish/Gibraltarian heritage, to blues, soul, roots, rock, reggae and gospel. However it wasn't long before the young Dan was hooked on the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Richie Blackmore, Motown and Stax artists. Most importantly of all, he discovered the limitless possibilities of the Fender Stratocaster guitar. "I knew right away that I was destined to own and play Fender guitars. I was born to play the Blues, with this guitar in my hands." His journey to become a serious blues/rock artist had begun.

Dan became devoted to his guitar. Many sleepless nights were spent teaching himself to play Guitar, Bass and write songs, with the dream of becoming a professional musician his ultimate goal. By the time he was thirteen the dream had come true and he was gigging professionally as both a professional bassist and guitarist. In 1993, Dan was asked to perform live for the ABC TV program - "4 Corners". He was asked to perform his version of the William Roberts song that Jimi Hendrix covered and made famous, "Hey Joe". Over the next few years Dan toured and recorded as a bassist and lead guitarist with many local and interstate artists, using the experience to constantly learn and imrpove his musical abilities.

Dan has also played Bass on some of the tracks and featured his young daughter, Ebony Granero as special guest backing vocalist for the title track, Stars & Spaceships.

“This album is definitely a different album for me,” says Granero, “Stars & Spaceships is a record of songs about my life especially over the last year...some songs where written many years ago and re- written for this record as they seemed more 'fitting' to my life now."

Each track has a different vibe to each other, from the Blues/Rock funkiness of "Tell Me Baby", the mysterious "Stars & Spaceships", the deep and meaningful "Song For My Son", the bluesy "Thords Blues" and to the more rockin' "Only One". This album still retains the classic 'Dan Granero' Fender guitar sound and style.

There’s something for all tastes in music, its a real mix of Guitar-Driven Blues and Rock with some deep and meaningful tracks in between that reflect what is close to Dan's heart.
