Twenty years, four publications, pieces selected and included in numerous compilations and video documentaries, dozens and dozens of original songs and hundreds of concerts.
Over time the band has been enriched with other members and new instruments without losing the quality of the sound, indeed, the sound palette has been enriched with: Nicola Di Camillo on bass and double bass, Paola Ceroli on vocals, Angelo Scogno on keyboards and vocals and Andrea Giovannoli on drums and percussion.
Originally from Abruzzo, Dago Red started as a busker trio in 1998 when Nicola Palanza, Marco Pellegrini and Giuseppe Mascitelli met their instruments, their voices and the desire to play the blues. The trio immediately had a captivating, original and recognizable sound as a gift.
The vocal harmonies, the textures of the guitars, the enthralling grooves and the immediate sound make their lives, as the French magazine Le Blues writes , a “coup de coeur!”.
They thrilled their audience in theaters, clubs and major festivals in France, Germany, Holland, Scotland, England and of course Italy.
In 2012 they earned the recognition of best blues group in Italy by winning the Italian blues Challenge and following this milestone, the following year, they represented their country at the European Blues Challenge in Berlin . Another important step is the special mention obtained at the “International Songwriting Competition”, two of the members of the jury were Tom Waits and Robert Smith .
In their records there is a unique style and a thousand places. Listening to them, you have the feeling of sitting in the train with the songs / stories flowing from the window. Their recordings are full of a thousand nuances and sounds that suddenly surprise.
