"Feels Like I'm Drowning" is Wendy's first full length CD released in 1998, and she wrote all but one of the eleven songs. The tunes are a fun mix of blues & groovy rock with a lot of spirit and 70s vibe. Most tracks feature various members of Wendy's longtime Tampa Bay area band Wendy & the Soulshakers.

A native Texan, Wendy was born and raised in a suburb of Houston, Texas and joined her first band at the age of 13. For several years she focused on rock music, playing in clubs in the Houston area and dabbling in recording. She joined her first blues band in 1989 shortly before she relocated to the Tampa Bay area of Florida. Since her arrival in 1990 to Florida, Wendy established herself quickly with her band Wendy & the Soulshakers, becoming a popular mainstay in the regional club & festival circuit.

Over the years she has taken her band on the road up the east coast and to Europe as well as self-producing 4 cds. In the year 2000 Wendy took some time off from the Soulshakers to tour as front person for the legendary Janis Joplin’s original band Big Brother & the Holding Company who continue to tour to this day with 3 out of 4 of the original members. She performed with them at various venues all over the US and Europe through 2004 and still occasionally makes appearances with them.

In 2009 Wendy journeyed to Nashville, TN to collaborate with producer Kevin McKendree (Delbert McClinton, Brian Setzer, John Oates) on a record entitled "Driver", which was never officially released due to some life circumstances that put Wendy’s music career on hold for a couple of years. In 2013, Wendy came back to music with a recording project in her hometown Houston, Texas working with Andy Bradley at the famed SugarHill Studios on the beginnings of a stellar new record.

Bradley enlisted the talents of Mark Andes (Heart, Firefall, Spirit), Kenny Cordray, Paul English and more. 2016 saw the release of the chart topping cd "It's All Nothing" which has received airplay on blues and country stations worldwide.

Wendy Rich - It's All Nothing

Bitrate: MP3@320K/s
Time: 30:29
Size: 69.8 MB
Styles: Blues vocals
Year: 2016
Art: Front

[3:18] 1. Back To Zero
[5:25] 2. Love And Happiness
[3:46] 3. Welcome Home
[3:05] 4. Song About Nothing
[4:04] 5. Losing You
[4:20] 6. I Just Wanna Be
[4:11] 7. Off The Deep End
[2:16] 8. Get It Together

This album was recorded in Houston and Nashville, and the Houston session provides us with “Love and Happiness” and Nashville produced “Losin’ You” which are country blues and remind me of classic songs by Brenda Lee or Connie Francis. Kevin McKnedree adds spectacular keyboard that sends chills up and down my keyboard-loving spine. Other highlights of the album are “Welcome Home,” a warm and happy number, and “Song About Nothing,” a humorous song about breaking up with an uptempo beat and excellent slide guitar. However, there are no weak songs on here.

it’s so important that even the strongest, most appealing singer, which Rich certainly is, has an equally talented band and great production and sound quality. It’s All Nothing has everything needed to make a thoroughly enjoyable album. If you are not familiar with Wendy Rich. now is the time to get acquainted.

Real music and real musicians make this record of original retro ,soulful. bluesy tunes with a touch of Americana country a must have! Featuring Delbert McClinton's stellar band Dick50 backing up long time Texas soul/blues singer/songwriter Wendy Rich

A native Texan, Wendy was born and raised in a suburb of Houston, Texas... and joined her first band at the age of 13. For several years she focused on rock music, playing in clubs in the Houston area and dabbling in recording. She joined her first blues band in 1989 shortly before she relocated to the Tampa Bay area of Florida.
Since her arrival in 1990 to Florida, Wendy established herself quickly with her band Wendy & the Soulshakers, becoming a popular mainstay in the regional club circuit as well as making appearances at most major festivals & events throughout the region.
Over the years she has taken her band on the road up the east coast and to Europe as well as self-producing 4 cds.
In the year 2000 Wendy took some time off from the Soulshakers to tour as front person for the legendary Janis Joplin’s original band Big Brother & the Holding Company...who continue to tour to this day with 3 out of 4 of the original members. She performed with them at various venues all over the US and Europe through 2004 and still occasionally makes appearances with them.
In 2009 Wendy journeyed to Nashville, TN to collaborate with producer Kevin McKendree (Delbert McClinton’s keyboardist/band leader) on her new songs for her soon-to-be-released record entitled DRIVER.
“I’ve always been a Delbert fan,” says Wendy, “so it was natural for me to want to work with his stellar band Dick50! Especially when I heard the recordings coming out of the Rock House (Kevin McKendree’s studio)...and it was the right move! Kevin and I really clicked! I couldn’t be happier!”
Now with the new album DRIVER, Wendy Rich takes a major musical leap forward. “I’ve worked a long time toward this accomplishment,” she states. “I had such a fantastic time making this record and can’t wait to get out on the road and share this music with as many people as possible! The only thing that could be as fun as making this record will be performing it live!!”
Wendy performs with a 4-7 piece band with guitar, bass, drums & keys and brings a horn section whenever possible!.
