The N’awlins Johnnys originated in 2009 as a blend of the rhythms of Acadiana’s cajun and zydeco music, New Orleans funk and the early blues-based rock n’ roll that made the world take notice of the New Orleans music scene decades ago. The result is a highly-danceable sound that can be most succinctly described as “Nolabilly.” Or, as Anna Purdy of The Times of Acadiana wrote: “It’s New Orleans jazzy rock, and they sound like guys who would be comfortable jamming in a backyard or at Tipitina’s.”
