Kid Carlos is undoubtedly an emblematic musician. Introverted, unassuming, and an exceptional guitarist. He is only interested in his guitar and his music: the blues in its purest form. He is from Seville, in southern Spain and one of the cradles of flamenco, a place where the blues has its own river and from whose banks the blues first began to be heard in Spain. Carlos founded the Kid Carlos Band in 2007. and released his first album "Talkin' About The Blues" which is now out of print. After years of learning and life on the road, the legendary British blues producer Mike Vernon (who passed away on March 2) invited him to join his project The Mighty Combo, with whom he recorded two magnificent albums.

With his inseparable bandmates, vocalist Txaco Jones, bassist Lalu Cordón and drummer Stefano Di Rubbo, Kid Carlos band has released four albums and performed in clubs and festivals throughout Spain and across the rest of Europe. Together with Quique Bonal, another leading blues guitarist in Spain, he released the instrumental album "Fango" in 2018. Later, his friendship with the European harmonica legend Mingo Balaguer - a pioneer of the genre in Spain - led Balaguer to invite him to be the guitarist on his album "Blue Shadow", one of the best blues records released in Spain in recent years. Finally, Mike Vernon proposed a new project to Kid called Cat Squirrel. With the addition of Mingo Balaguer himself, they recorded a musical milestone titled "Blues What Am" which is already part of the essential canon of blues in Spain.

Carlos' most recent collaboration can be found on the 2025 album "We Like To Groove" by blues and boogie pianist Lluís Coloma and the also legendary saxophonist Lou Marini. There may be more tenacious guitarists than Carlos in Europe, but none capable of conveying their music with sincerity and generosity with which Kid Carlos plays his guitar. Don't look for it, you won't find it.

Andhrea and the Black Cats is a blues band formed in 2013 in Santiago de Compostela by Ramón Figueira "Figui" (harmonica), Andrea Verdú (vocals), and Benjamín Vázquez (guitar). It began as a small, acoustic blues group focused on reinterpreting classic blues songs.

The group's evolution led them to participate in the 6th edition of the blues competition organized by the Barcelona Blues Society in 2015. The quality of their performance, their connection with the audience, and their well-crafted repertoire, which included classics such as "Wang Dang Doodle," "I Can't Be Satisfied," and "Down By The Riverside," resulted in their winning the competition. This opened doors for them throughout the rest of Spain and led to the recording of their first studio album, "New Roads," in 2016.

For this first album, they created their quartet format, incorporating percussion. It includes covers of songs such as "Why Don't You Do Right," "There's a Man Going 'Round Taking Names," and "Chocolate Jesus." Promoting the album led the band to tour festivals and venues throughout Spain over the following years.

In 2019, they created a new format by adding the tuba as a fifth element. At this time, they composed their first original song, "Don't Wait For Me," as a prelude to their upcoming album, showcasing the band's new sound.

New this year are covers of songs that inspire the band, treated with the same care and with original arrangements that perfectly integrate them into their sound universe. The album "Back In Business" is a testament to the maturity and absolute mastery that Travellin' Brothers have over their sound. Leveraging this experience, the band opted for in-house production, recording the entire album at their own Hell Kitchen Studios, thus ensuring complete creative control over the final result.

Will Jacobs went to high school in Winnetka, Illinois where he was the guitarist in the Grammy winning New Trier High School Jazz Band in 2008. The following year Jacobs was the winner in the Youth Division of the Chicago Blues Challenge sponsored by The Windy City Blues Society. He represented that society at the International Blues Challenge and was the winner of a 2010 Generation Blues Scholarship. He went onto to study at The Berklee College of Music in Boston. As a sideman he has played with numerous Chicago artists including Linsey Alexander, Sharon Lewis, and Breezy Rodio; and opened for name artists including Billy Branch, Toronzo Cannon and Tommy Castro. He has since toured with C.J. Chenier. Jacobs is now twenty-six years old.

Marcos Coll is approximately eighteen years older but has a similar story. He was born in Madrid in 1976 and started playing harmonica when he was thirteen. He became the harmonica player in Los Reyes del KO (literally The Knockout Kings) with guitarist Adrian Costa, one of the top blues bands in Spain. In 200­­4 he moved to Berlin and soon became part of that cities blues scene. He is endorsed by the German based Hohner Harmonica Company. Coll has previously released his own two-cd compilation “Under The Wings” including tracks recorded with Buddy Miles, Herb Hardesty, Tino Gonzalez, Sax Gordon and others. In 2016 he recorded “Street Preachin” with guitarist Stefano Ronchi.

Jacobs, vocals, guitar, bass and drums; and Coll, harmonicas; recorded this new album at The Paul Linke Studio in Berlin in 2019. Engineered by Alex Ott and Stefano Ronchi, the album was mixed and mastered by Ronchi. With overdubs they are a four-piece band with an old school spark. Opening with “It Ain’t Safe” written by Clarence Carter and George Jackson and first recorded by Z.Z. Hill in 1972; they are funky and soulful. One is immediately impressed with guitarist Jacobs and how he establishes the rhythm before soloing. “Stranded” credited to Deadric Malone was recorded by Little Junior Parker in 1959. Six more tunes are written by Jacobs including “Going To Berlin”; a live version of which later closes the set. The instrumental “Bluescazorla Boogie” is the only co-write by Jacobs and the harp wielding Coll.

The pair generate that special excitement that we come to expect from seasoned veterans. Then you realize that as young as they are Jacobs and Coll are experienced. Expect to love this one. You will. /Richard Ludmerer, Making A Scene

Néstor Pardo formed his first band in 2004 when he was only nineteen years. He led it as a singer, guitarist and composer until 2009. Formation Rock-a-billy, they released 2 albums and took their show around Spain and Europe, being headliners in several festivals in Holland or Germany. The charism of Néstor on stage he stands out from the first day and as proof of this he is photographed by Antonio Alay for the book "Rockin' Spain", a photography book about the Spanish Rock & Roll scene.

In 2008 he emigrated to Madrid to finish their studies at the School of Creative Music, graduating as a professional guitarist in music Modern. In the following years, which he dedicated exclusively to his studies, receives classes from Diego Araoz on Manouche guitar and a masterclass with Stochelo Rosenberg (The Rosenberg Trio).

While living in Madrid, he filed friendship with musician Roi Fontoira (The Phantom Keys / The Limboos). Tired of the prejudices and closed-mindedness of the Rockabilly scene and watching music as a synonym for freedom, he leaves The Loveless Cousins and forms the R&B and Swing band with Roi The Allnight Workers, with whom he fine-tunes his compositional ability, recording always homegrown songs except for a couple of covers on their first album. With The Allnight Workers he recorded two albums at Lightning Studios Recordings of Berlin which is published by the label Grabaciones De Impacto. They toured all over Europe and their prestige was increases with each new step, being included in several festivals, both from Jazz as Rock & Roll. The Allnight Workers become the European band of Lala Brooks (The Crystals).

In 2012 Néstor returned to his hometown and began to play as a musician of session for different formations (Northwest Pickers, The Hot Chocolates, Dixie Lovers, The Honky Tonkin Boozers, Rockers Go To Hell....).

In 2013 he decided to start a solo career playing his own music, leaving behind all the formations and thus beginning a new stage, in which the musician escapes from any label or prejudice. It was here that Pardo was born, who soon saw his first album, eleven tracks published of his own composition and a celebrated version of Harry Nilson's Everybody's Talking. Recorded with only its guitar and his voice, he begins to tour solo and work full time in the project..

After a couple of months, he called Miguel Martínez and Adrián Seijas as a band of accompaniment (double bass and drums, respectively). With this training presents the album throughout a good part of the country with excellent acceptance and selling out the 700 copies without any promotion or press support.

We arrive in October 2014. Néstor enters the studio again, this time with his band, to record what will be his second album. Twelve tracks of their own composition recorded live at Santa Cruz Recordings Studios and that will be released in January 2015 on the New H-Records label under the title of Let It Stay (2015). Pretty soon you'll have them playing very close to your home!

The Rusties Blues Band is a four musician group from Gerona in the north east of Spain which started to play in 2013. In 2015 they released a double album, the first cd with their own compositions and the second one with versions of classic blues songs. This second cd led them to produce a show entitled “Traveling along the Blues Roads” where they brought the history of blues to varied general audiences with small documentaries and the band live music.

Now they release a second album, that becomes a tribute to the legendary bluesman Robert Johnson, and they do it on a simple humble way with an impressive respect for this incredible artist but, at the same time, with good doses of quality, performing technique and honesty. Of the twenty-nine songs Robert Johnson recorded during his life, The Rusties Blues Band has chosen eleven that represent the legacy of this key figure in the blues world who had a deep influence not only in blues music but also in rock and popular music.

The Rusties Blues Band is a band from Girona that has been on the Spanish blues scene for years. They have released several albums and their enthusiasm for bringing the blues to all corners of Spain is commendable. On their latest album, they've taken a leap of faith. Instead of presenting a standard tracklist, they've decided to pay tribute to the three "Kings" (Albert King, B.B. King, and Freddie King), playing both covers and originals that these three guitar kings once recorded.

The songs are well known to all fans, just mention titles like “I’m Tore Down”, “Born Under A Sign” or “The Thrill Is Gone”, three songs written by one of the Kings. But there are also versions of other songs not written by them but that they also recorded such as “Caledonia” by Louis Jordan, “Everyday I Have The Blues” by Memphis Slim or “Call It Stormy Monday” by T-Bone Walker to name six of the twelve songs they perform on this album, and which serve to give the fans an idea of what they are going to find on this album.

The Rusties Blues Band is a band formed in 2013 in the Girona region. They play electric blues in different styles, and consists of Miquel Grifell (vocals, guitars and harmonica), Mane Gaspar (piano and Hammond organ), Miquel Pascal (bass) and Eduard Planella (drums). They have already recorded three albums, debuting with the album "Independent Blues", an album containing cover versions and their own songs.

They then presented a trilogy called "disCOVERing", the first being a tribute they made to Robert Johnson with the album "disCOVERing Robert Johnson" and the second "disCOVERing The Three Kings", a tribute to the three kings of the blues B.B. King, Albert King and Freddie King. Now they close the trilogy with the album "disCOVERing The White Blues" which it is a tribute to Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Johnny Winter.

The Suitcase Brothers are a country blues duo founded in 1999 by the Puertas brothers, with Santos on guitar and vocals and Victor on harmonica and vocals. Some of their biggest influences are the legendary duo Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, but also duos such as Paul Rishell & Annie Raines and John Cephas & Phil Wiggins. The year after the beginning of the duo, in the year 2000, together with the composer Eduardo Arbide, they wrote and recorded some of the music soundtrack for the film "EL Bola", by director Achero Mañas, awarded 4 Goyas. "Hermanos Puertas" is the name of one of the songs.

They had recorded 3 albums and played multiple concerts, when in 2011 they were elected to participate in the first European Blues Challenge, held in Berlin. In 2013 they traveled to Memphis, TN (USA) and were the second prize winners for the best international blues duo in the IBC (International Blues Challenge), the blues contest in which more than 100 bands from all over the world participate in the category of solo/duo.

In 2014 they flew to Greensboro, North Carolina (USA) to participate in the contest organized by the PBPS (Piedmont Blues Preservation Society) and after winning the first prize, were able to represent North Carolina at the IBC that same year. Their fourth album "A Long Way From Home" was the best acoustic blues album of the year 2014 according to the prestigious music magazine Wasser-Prawda and was nominated for the best independent blues album of the year 2015 in Memphis, TN. Two Chicago blues legends are featured in the recording: Jerry Portnoy (Muddy Waters and Eric Capton) and Paul Oscher (Muddy Waters).

Internationally recognized, the Puertas brothers have established themselves as one of the best blues duos on the scene. The Suitcase Brothers have gained the respect and admiration of those who love this style of music and captivate anyone who listens to them for the first time. Santos and Victor Puertas perpetuate through their music the origin of the genre and make us fall deeply in love with it. Recently they released a new recoding, their fifth album, named "Love, Truth & Confidence: A Tribute To Piedmont Blues Legends Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee".

At the age of nineteen, in 2004 , he led his first band, The Loveless Cousins, in which he worked as a singer, guitarist and composer. They made rockabilly music and released two albums. They made frequent tours of Spain and Europe , performing as headliners at several festivals in the Netherlands and Germany . He achieved a certain prestige, to the point of being photographed by Antonio Alay for his book "Rockin' Spain", a snapshot of Spanish rock and roll .

He left his hometown in 2008 to settle in Madrid where he completed his studies as a professional guitarist in modern music at the School of Creative Music. He also takes classes with Diego Araoz and does a masterclass with Stochelo Rosenberg of the renowned The Rosenberg Trio . In Madrid he befriends Roi Fontoira , former member of The Phantom Keys and The Limboos, with whom he forms The Allnight Workers in 2009 , leaving The Loveless Cousins, tired of the prejudices and closed environment of the rockabilly scene. In the new formation, which plays rhythm and blues and swing , he improves his composing skills. They record two albums at the Lighting Recordings studios in Berlin with their own songs except for a couple of versions on the first album. They tour throughout Europe performing at various jazz and rock and roll festivals. Their prestige increases to the point that Lala Brooks, former vocalist of The Crystals , chooses The Allnight Workers as her band for European tours.

He returned to A Coruña in 2012 playing as a session musician for different local formations: Northwest Pickers, The Hot Chocolates, Dixie Lovers, The Honky Tonkin Boozers, Rockers Go To Hell... In 2013 he dedicated himself to continuing his solo career. With the only accompaniment of his guitar he recorded an album with eleven of his own songs and a version of Everybody's Talking by Harry Nilsson . After a while he joined Miguel Martínez (double bass) and Adrián Seijas (drums) with whom he presented his album throughout much of the country, and with whom he recorded his second work in October 2014 at the Santa Cruz Recordings studios. The album, with twelve songs of his own composition, was released in January 2015 with the title Let It Stay.

The entire album is a tribute to the city of Paris, which has made the Catalan singer grow musically since she settled in the capital of love. The lyrics of Cecilya not only speak of love and celebration as rhythm and blues did at that time. An exquisite selection of tracks that delve into the depths of the most authentic Blues, revisiting classics like Magic Sam’s You Belong to Me, led by Edu Bighands. It uncovers magnificent gems such as Beefstake Blues by singer John ‘Son’ Thomas, with Paul San Martin on vocals and piano, and Beiztegui’s slide guitar, to revisit Lightnin’ Hopkins’ Lightnin’ Boogie, featuring the incomparable rhythmic work of Martí Elías and Paul San Martin’s left hand. Another great asset of this album is the original compositions by Fernando Beiztegui. The Granada native signs Strange Feeling Blues, a slow blues with a classic feel.
