After more than two decades on the road, over 1,300 concerts, countless international tours, and a dozen awards attesting to their excellence, Travellin' Brothers has reaffirmed its position as one of the most solid and respected bands on the European scene. In 2023 and 2024, the band celebrated its 20th anniversary, and as a culmination of this milestone they are taking a bold and exciting step: the reactivation of their big band format, inactive for a decade, to present their eleventh studio album.

A career as long as that of Travellin' Brothers is built on an unusual and powerful fact: having maintained the same lineup since its founding. This cohesion and musical understanding is the driving force that allows them to tackle projects of the magnitude of a big band. The album stems from a desire to revive the spectacular nature of their big band formation. It's a work that reinterprets original songs previously recorded by the band, elevating them to a new dimension with arrangements created specifically for big band.

New this year are covers of songs that inspire the band, treated with the same care and with original arrangements that perfectly integrate them into their sound universe. The album "Back In Business" is a testament to the maturity and absolute mastery that Travellin' Brothers have over their sound. Leveraging this experience, the band opted for in-house production, recording the entire album at their own Hell Kitchen Studios, thus ensuring complete creative control over the final result.

Personnel: Jon Careaga (vocals); Aitor Cañibano (guitar, backing vocals); Eneko Cañibano (bass); Isi Redondo (drums, percussion); Alain Sancho (saxophone, backing vocals); Mikel Azpiroz (keyboards).

That’s why they have got a legion of admirers and followers which makes them to be highly demanded in countless national and international festivals.

With their knowledge The Travellin’ Brothers enrich the Spanish black music scene than can now be found in our country and this recording really proves it.

As in a poker game, the last and best hand, and betting everything on the table, that’s how Travellin’ Brothers have approached their latest album.

A risky bet, maybe, but supported by the confidence of a flawless career of fifteen years, 8 albums, a thousand concerts, European and US tours, collaborations with top artists, appearances at the major international festivals, awards and acknowledgement from both critics and public, and everything that goes in between.

“1001 Nights” was recorded on December 30th, 2018, on just one take, no tricks, no gimmicks, at the best venue ever, Teatro Arriaga Antzokia, Bilbao. It was a memorable sold out night and they did what they are best at, playing live!

It comprises a large number of songs that have marked the band’s career; a repertoire based on songs featured on their previous album on the one hand, newly-arranged, celebrated songs and others that have been revisited on the other hand, and lastly, a handful of new tunes just for the occasion.

Having Earl Thomas sing on the album makes the icing on the cake. He is a friend of the band’s and a remarkable international artist with whom they ventured to perform some of his songs, always playing their hallmark style of pure Travellin’ Brothers music.

It was a special, emotional concert, a life celebration, at a magic venue and surrounded by their people, the audience that have been there from the very beginning. The recording of the album had to be an excellent one, both audio and video, so that night will never be forgotten.

It was recorded by Kaki Arkarazo with Garate Studios mobile recording studio. It was mixed by Brad Jones at Alex the Great Studio and mastered by Jim DeMain at Yes Master Studio, both in the city of music, Nashville TN.

Summing up, this is an album that tops off these amazing fifteen years in which the band have enjoyed themselves a great deal and have well and truly conquered a place in the international scene.

Travellin' Brothers - 2 albums: 13th Avenue South / Big Band

Travellin' Brothers in its authentic essence. Bass, guitar, drums, piano, sax and voice. The original line up. Attitude, energy and complicity in pure condition. With this format they have travelled all around the world, have visited all kind of clubs and have played on hundreds of stages. The band in its maximum brilliance: Two trumpets, two trombons, four saxs and a tuba. Two backing-vocal singers join in addition to the original line-up. 16 musicians on stage, a locomotive of sound and energy. Blues, Swing, Jazz, Funk ... a journey throughout the american black roots music.

2018 is a year marked by fire in the calendar of the band, a year in which many important milestones converge, some numbers available to very few and that certify, even more, one of the most respected and admired trajectories of the old continent in the last years. 15 years, 8 albums and 1000 concerts are some of the figures that will be reached in the course of this year. The data speaks for itself and is unappealable. Since the beginning of his trip in December 2003 and until today, national and European tours follow one after the other, tours in the USA, awards as the best European band in 2015, the continuous presence in the most prestigious festivals in Europe, unbeatable reviews of their albums and, of course, the success of their live shows, full of quality and energy, have made the action of hanging the poster "sold out" something regular.

"13th Avenue South" is the new and eighth album by Travellin 'Brothers, recorded and produced by the great Brad Jones at Alex The Great Recording studios and mastered by a legend like Jim DeMain at Yes Master Studios, between 20 and 30 November, 2017 in Nashville-TN.

Throughout history, the greatest bluesmen and the finest blues bands have always kept a close-knit relationship to river banks and deltas. Travellin’ Brothers are no exception. Formed at the end of 2003 in Leioa, a town in the Basque county of Bizkaia, near Bilbao river, they are very much inspired by the Nervión river and its industrial character. The Travellin' have forged themselves over the years; they are six friends, six brothers and their affinity is one of their great virtues, something one can easily feel when they are on stage.

Travellin’ Brothers have a remarkable musical knowledge. They have been touring non-stop for ten years, always on the rise, always committed to self-improvement. Six albums and more that 700 concerts are good proof of it.

Travellin' Brothers - 2 albums: Red Hot & Blue / Magnolia Route
