Giacomo Cassoni (Big Man James) is a blues extraction musician. He starts playing the guitar at the age of 12. His training takes place with the likes of Francesco Pìu, Riccardo Ferranti, Luca Colombo. Learn to sing while listening to his favorite artists: BB-King, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix.

The singing soon becomes his way to channel his emotionality. Therefore he founded together with other 4 musicians his first blues band (BluesExperience), where he plays the role of singer-guitarist, treading different stages like the Cremona Beer Festival and the Blues Festival of Ziano. After a few years the group broke up Big Man James founded the Single Barrell, blues band and southern rock. The project lasts almost 4 years and says Big Man James in the area. Later he started a new project that brought him closer to acoustic guitar, bluegrass, country, street jazz. Are Are Jay, exuberant trio in which Big Man James plays the role of singer and multi-instrumentalist. With this group he makes two records: Blue Gloom and Are Jay Live. This project brings him closer to a professional level, coming to open the concerts of Davide Van De Sfroos and Fabio Treves.

His usual career begins to take shape in 2016: Big Man James is selected as an artist in several major blues festivals in Italy: the South Blues Connection of Matera, the Malcesine Blues Festival and the Blues Made In Italy of Cerea. In September 2016 Big Man James recorded a new solo album, proposing personal versions of the timeless classics of the blues and an unreleased, My Clouds, from which the album title is born. The album gets positive reviews from some passionate bloggers in the industry.

Towards the end of 2016 the Big Man James Trio was born with initially Andrea Zetti on drums and Michele Zanoni on bass. Later Andrea Zetti gives way to Federica Rossi. Big Man James Trio has already taken important stages like the South Italy Blues Connection, Malcesine Blues Festival, Blues Festival of Finale Ligure, Blues Made in Italy and well over 30 dates between Lombardy, Tuscany, Liguria, Veneto and Emilia Romagna. In October 2017, Big Man James Trio opened the concert of American bluesman Carvin Jones at the Spazio Musica in Pavia. With current training, Big Man James is writing a new album of unreleased. The artist plans to present the new album at the doorstep of summer 2018, just before leaving for a summer tour that will bring his band around Italy. (Translated from Italian.)
