Jimmy Barnatán's new album, entitled 'Jefe', will be released this coming June. It is the sixth musical work of the Cantabrian actor and singer, also known for some of his roles on television, and the fourth album with 'The Cocooners', the band composed of Ángel Camacho, Sergio González and Rubén Rodríguez. These songs make up the original soundtrack of the film 'Jefe', which has been presented at the Malaga Film Festival and will hit theaters this summer.

The funny tone of the film, directed by Sergio Barrejón and starring Juana Acosta and Luis Callejo, has allowed the group to mix their usual style, the blues, with sounds from other genres such as rock or funk.

Bourbon Church is the fifth album by Jimmy Barnatán & The Cocooners. His American roots music, his particular sound that travels through the paths of rythm & blues, soul and funky, is intermingled this time with the gospel thanks to a choir of 30 people, in a very special way. Following the form of a Harlem mass, Barnatán made a reverend with three actors and The Cocooners will make us enter, through radio sequences and with his braided sermon, in the dark trance of rock, extolling the whims of night, smoke and alcohol. Intermixed with 11 new themes, its ceremony is complemented for the enjoyment and rejoicing of the public. In their particular liturgy, names are forgotten and masks are raised in a carnival of music drunk with the perfume of sin, with criticism of reigning hypocrisy and the command to indulge in the delusions of the carnal.

Enter with Jimmy Barnatán & The Cocooners in his spiral of Blues, Rock and Gospel. Join them at their Bourbon Church. (Translated from Spanish.)

~Eduardo Izquierdo
